Hey Vanessa, awesome run down of the challenges you've experienced with Corbin! Just wondering how you survived the Sharkie stages and what some tips are for enduring that phase. Also I laughed out so loud at 6:47. Our 5 month (tomorrow!) pup Cody has started to do that lately, first time that happened we thought it was HILARIOUS.
Hello :). Thanks so much for the support. Man, I'm not gonna lie...it was hard. LOl. Exercise, exercise, and more exercise! Wear your puppy out as much as possible. Redirection during the midst of them doing an undesirable behavior. If you see them doing something wrong, have something you can swap out. So, if they have a shoe, command them to "drop it" and immediately replace the shoe with something they're allowed to chew. Try this and give lots of praise.
@@AllaboutVizslas Great that's what we're doing with Cody these days, lots of exercise to burn down that energy! They're also quite the Houdini's & determined to get into the tiniest of spaces to explore. We've had beagles which we thought were geniuses but Vizsla's seem to be a step above. He got on the shed roof to chase a cat the other day, how he got up there we don't quite know - he couldn't get down and let us know. Keep up the awesome videos and thanks for taking us on that journey!
@@ThushanFernandoIsHere Yeah...Corbin is basically a person. He once counter surfed and tried to grab the lid to a pot one time. He literally stretched his arm out and his little fingers to try to grab the lid knob. He also figured out the difference between a sliding closet door and the ones that are magnetic...one push and all the shoes were in Jeopardy. I appreciate your support and your contribution to my channel. :)
Well, in my case it didn't. Corbin was so anxious that when I would leave him in his crate he would flip it over and it would be on the other side of the room when I got back home. He wouldn't even sleep in it without salivating profusely. As he got older and less destructive, I could just leave him in the house without him causing problems. If yours is not that bad with anxiety or destruction, then I would definitely recommend it. Start slow with it...like just for sleeping and then expand it to other things. It should be a rewarding place.
I adopted mine through the Pilot dog program in Columbus Ohio. He didn't meet the guide dog requirements. I'd check with your local Pilot dog or Seeing eye dog programs to see if they train Vizslas. I hope this helps.
Hey Alicia! May I ask which part of my video is causing you to have second thoughts? It really is an awesome breed and if you're down for ample exercise and being outside, I'd say get one :)! You won't regret it. If, however, you don't have that type of time or the environment conducive for a Vizsla, then I'd suggest perhaps a different breed would better suit you. Feel free to ask me questions! I have another video coming out next Sunday and I captured footage with Corbin running in a pack of Vizslas alongside the train tracks and it's gorgeous!!
Oh, and also wanted to suggest that there are many Vizsla rescues that have older Vizslas for adoption. Sometimes professional dog trainers and dog showers like to retire their Vizslas and need good homes for them. You may wanna check that option out. Corbin mellowed out a lot when he turned four. So, perhaps an older Vizsla would work for you. Lemme know girl! :)
All about Vizslas thank you so much for your input and we will be moving forward in adoption a vizsla if I have any other questions can I contact you for tips?
Honestly? I recommend changing the diet and getting them off kibble 100% . I'm getting ready to make a part III video as I have found some medical explanations for my Corbin's anxiety and how important it is to find a good veterinarian. Stay tuned...I have a lot of tests that I've done that I want to share with you all.
I enrolled him in Service dog training, and I worked on desensitizing him to strangers and many different places. I'm not going to lie, he still has it but not to the degree that he did. He was so bad that I couldn't even be in the bathroom with the door closed for 2 minutes without him going crazy trying to get in. I'm going to make a video on Separation anxiety pretty soon. I also would do things like put my coat on and sit next to him watching TV and jingle my keys throughout the house and pay no attention to his reaction. It's taken 2.5 years to get him to this point.
All about Vizslas thanks for the info. I’ve watched a lot of videos with good techniques to try combat or help it. Glad to hear it’s getting better slowly but surely
All about Vizslas Zak George separation anxiety I was put on to. That was a good video. I’m trying to prepare as much as I can before getting a Vizsla pup
Hungarian Vizsla is breed name! Not only Vizsla. I understand that's more convenient. Do we say Shepherd or German Shepherd? or Australian Shepherd? Make sense?
Super helpful video!! Thank you!
Thank you so much!! If there's any topic that you would like me to do a video on, please leave it in the comments. :)

I'm sorry you lost your baby. They are the most precious things. I'll have to look up that condition. I've never heard of it.

do you think crate training could minimize the destruction + anxiety?

Can I ask where you adopted your dog? Which country? I find that I can't find Vizsla adoption, only for sale

I am going to get a Vizsla puppy in a month but now I am here rethinking everything.

what supplement do you recommend for separation anxiety ?

How did the separation anxiety clear or get better?
