Nice synopsis. In the late 70's and 80's my wife and I shared our lives with three Vizsla Bacchus, Echo, and Breeze. We shared many great adventures. They are still missed and always will be.
I have a huge garden for a Vizsla to run and play and I definitely love the idea of a "Velcro dog" . I suffer from major depression and anxiety and animals really helps me to feel very relaxed. I trust dogs more than what I trust humans. Their love is unconditional and because I feel so alone sometimes, I really think that this breed of dog could be very beneficial to my well-being. I spend a lot of time ( maybe too much time) with my dogs because it's so rewarding for me and I would imagine for them too. So I think a Velcro dog would love being part of my family.
Labradors are wonderful, too, also very high energy - for a smaller dog, we always had cocker spaniels growing up & just loved them - not as high energy, but very loving & affectionate - when I would get some time off work or a long weekend, I would go to my parents to spend the weekend and their dog, Sweetie, would lay outside my door from about 7 till 9 when my mom would come wake me up & then Sweetie would charge on to the bed ! So cute - I lost my precious chocolate Lab, Abby, the dog of my heart, to cancer 2 years ago - I still cry - I hope you get one - it will add a dimension to your life that you never thought existed - blessings to you 🥰
Not trying to be sad but my Vizsla just died and I’m missing her a ton. This video is just making me want to get one again more and more. I LOVE THESE FREAKING DOGS!!! Thanks for helping me brighten my day up a little bit!!
As a Vizsla owner I'm very glad to be hearing the right pronunciation to the name of the breed. I have a 7-year-old Vizsla named Roman, he is such an angel. Every time we go on any exercising activity, there is no way that he isn't going to hunt throughout it, every day he looks through all bushes and just hunts, he adores doing it, they are very attached to you, that why there called Velcro dogs. They are quick to learn, and very eager to please. I truly love this breed, and I'm going to get another one later on after he is gone because one is enough at the moment. I recommend this dog breed to people who are athletic, and who will gladly be on the couch snuggling with this dog. Thank you for making this video, I hope more people will learn about this dog breed and get to learn about their fantastic background.
Our Vizsla boy Oban is the best! He’s my first dog, my husband’s second. So much energy as a young pup, he’s 8months now and chilling out nicely! I love walking in the forest as he zips about around me :-) The most loving, sweet, affection creature. He does however protect our family big time, something these videos never warned me of. Once he knows someone, he’s sweet as candy. However he will growl and bark at anyone new coming near us! I’m never afraid of intruders, that’s for sure!!! And we have a 2 and 5 year old at home, and he is sooooo good with them! Best breed ever.
My family has had our baby girl for almost 3 years now. She was rescued from a shelter, and we all instantly fell in love with her. The biggest cuddlebug, energized as a kindergartener jacked up on Halloween candy, and we have definitely gotten so many adventures with her.
My first dog right now is a Vizsla and I just adore her. 100% a velcro dog, but she is a couch potato and in no way destructive, she loves her long walks but even more sleeping under a blanket with you.
I had 2 vizsla one was stolen one is died I can say this is the best family member, always give attention and love to run together and play. When we went to Goose hunting I got my gun she know already and change and serve me during the hunting. I cry for Rigo and Zafir I had future I will have new puppy amazing sensitive love partner.
My Vizsla loves to watch TV! He knows movies by their names! He understands simple sign language ! He loves everyone & loves to show off to our company !! Flint is just my best friend !! I would love to have another ! He is only 1/2 Viszula & half Boarder Collie . We all just love him!!
I am a Hungarian, not biased or anything, but I just love these dogs! I really hope I can get one, when my circumstances would allow it. I would take it for long walks, hikes, runs etc. I would like to raise my future children along with such a cute, loving and friendly dog. 😊
We love our Sadie Mercedes Vizsla...8 years old now but still the fastest dog in the park! Very loving, velcro, and needs attention...very picky eater !!
These dogs are wonderful. My first dog is a vizsla, and yes he is most definitely a velcro dog. Hes so gentle and sweet, people who are scared of dogs will meet him and they learn that not all dogs are the same! Theyre perfect family dogs, so gentle and loving with kids :)
We are currently on our second Vizsla, they are a wonderful if you know what you are getting; if you don't then they are probably the worst possible choice. Our current Vizsla who will be 14 years in just a little 3 months is still very active and is in really great shape. She still requires at least an hour walk each day, down from 2 walks of at least a hour each when she was younger. At the dog park most people are shocked to learn how old she is and how active she still is; generally people think she is a puppy if they see her at a distance; up close they think she might be 8 years old. She was supposed to be a show dog but she never developed the way the breeder had thought she would; but in the field she is simply amazing. I have been able to put two Field Titles on her and she won two Field Championships. I'm very proud of her.
We just got our 8 week old Vizsla female named Penny...and she is an absolutely amazing dog. It’s amazing how much energy she has even as a little pup...she could literally run laps around just about any other breed at the same age. Highly cuddly and affectionate too! She fits into our family very well, and has become an expert 🦎 hunter 👍🏼
My vizsla just got hit by a car a few days ago. Her name was Bella and we couldn't figure out what breed she was. It didn't take me long to find out and she matched all these facts. She would walk beside my horse when I was riding them and she was always running and sniffing for other animals. I miss her so much and I'm very glad I found out what breed she is! Thank you so much! I really love this video!
I watched most of this with my 7-month-old Vizsla draped around my shoulders like a scarf. She does this whenever I sit on the couch by the window. She is a little girl, even for her age, and so sweet and smart. We named her Orbit, as she will orbit around you the instant you walk in the house. She’s such a nut. 😂
We've had 5 Hungarian Vizslas over the years, and my husband had grown up with them, and have loved them so much. I have heard them called the most cat-like of dogs. There's a funny (to me) video on UA-cam called Rainy Day Vizsla, showing what happens if a puppy isn't getting enough exercise. Also one of a Vizsla climbing a tree in Hungary.
My dog is chocolate lab vizla mix and he is an amazing dog. I barely trained him, but he goes everywhere with me ever since he was 3 months old and got used to all sorts of people and dogs at a very young age. He is very friendly with everyone including dogs and even though he sometimes get hyper, he wears it off at the dog park and when we go for a run. He is a Velcro and hates being alone. Not destructive and he sleeps all night next to me and only barks for attention
you describe the breed perfectly - i had to laugh several times during watching the video as I had the feeling you just talking about my crazy Vizsla girl ;-)
We are big fans of Golden Meadows Retrievers!! We brought our girl home from them and she is absolutely lovely!! We're adding a boy this fall... so excited!!! Best companions ever!
My Vizsla Sammy passed away this year. I miss him so much!❤️❤️❤️He was such a sweetheart I loved him very much. He was the best dog in the world for me.❤️❤️❤️
Best dog I've ever owned... If you're thinking about getting one make sure you have plenty of room for him/her to run. Trust the folks that tell you they are energetic. I live on a ranch in Texas. 4 year old dog runs/plays for hours
My vizsla is coming up on 3 years old. Her name is Hazel. she is quiet large, last time we weighted her, she was in the neighborhood of 65lbs. Super long legs and everyone we run into that knows about vizsla’s, say she is huge for a girl. Can’t ask for a better dog. Everyone loves Hazel! Definitely a great dog for any home
My vizsla/red setter cross loves to run after balls and sticks, point out where they landed, and then let you know that you threw it so you can pick it up!
My baby girl, Orbit, turned one today. She amazes me every day with how intelligent she is. The other day we were trying to get her out of the car, and so both doors were open. My brother took her out one side of the car and she ran around and jumped in the other door. This is the first time we never seen it and it was absolutely hilarious.
Thanks. Great vid. We just embarked on our second journey with a Viszla, a few weeks ago. The pup is nearing 12 weeks of age now. Done an aweful lot of socializing so far. Now continuing polishing the little guy to perfecion. Did I miss in your story they need a gentle hand, and can't stand a harsh treatment ?
WotterMelon they get a lot calmer and lazier when theyre older, dont worry :) mine is 10 now, and although he still has that puppy playfullness in him, he has definitely slowed down more to our pace.
Yup,he is a tall hunter meant to be played with they also have separation anxiety, which means they love to play and there active i have a Vizsla but of course I made the mistake of not training my Vizsla as a young pup.Vizsla’s are very umm exciting but as he said in the video they will chew up anything(I mean literally anything!!)
@@tomaszmichewicz7867 pretty sure that would be the case with most dogs if you're not careful especially while they're puppies (hence why the term "puppy proofing" exists) but it's also probably dependent on their personality and how much u exercise them, some people say that they're not destructive and they're very calm inside but some say they just chew everything, and you might be able to avoid making that a habit by getting interesting chew toys and rewarding them when they're chewing on that instead of other stuff around the house, if they're chewing everything it might also be the case that they weren't exercised quite enough that day or they're bored but either way they probably shouldn't be left alone around with wires laying around all day cuz who knows if they'll get curious and a lot of people crate train them or just leave them in a play pen if they have to go, in case they don't have a garden or the weather is bad.
Vizlas are so picturesque... look they belong in a painting sat at the foot of some Austrian emperor. They even do that thing where they sit on their hind legs with their noses up like they're posing for a picture.
Came across two of these pups and I must say they are goofy but sweet. As soon as a stranger comes towards one if they approve of you they sort of growl as you pet them which is a weird first approach but sweet!
This perfectly described the vizsla!! I have one--sweetest boy EVER, but also very destructive if I don't get him enough exercise, mental stimulation, and love.
My wife and I first met more than 30 years ago. For about 26 years she was frightened of dogs and never voluntarily went near any dog. This was a bit of a problem as I absolutely love dogs and say hello to every dog that walks past me, and dogs are very popular where I live. I asked one of our neighbours if I could walk her Vizsla. My wife was especially daring and came with us and he was such a lovely, intelligent, calm and loyal dog that he single handedly (pawedly?) changed her opinion of dogs and now she loves them. I'm very grateful to Popeye the Viszla for that.
Love the information he gave. The Vizsla was the first dog my family got. Sad reality is there wasn't much information back then of what your dog should not eat or what dog/breed are allergic too. Hungarian people discovered in 2013 that the whole Vizsla breed is allergic to chicken! If you decide to get this breed be sure to read the ingredients on you dog food.
I have a vizsla too but she's a wire haired and very athletic! Moss (her) will run with me and my parents on the horses for hours and has never had epilepsy or any disorder she also has no elbow dysplasia or anything. Also she's had 11 puppies! They were adorable! We're planning to breed her for the second and last time this year
I have a lab/vizsla aka vizslador and she is phenomenal. Very well tempered, incredibly smart, and quite a cuddle monster. Yeah she likes to run and chase squirrels all day, but a fantastic and responsive dog to training.
dog walker here. walked my first Vizsla today. I just LOVED him, so affectionate and beautiful. BUT, he barked very loudly for our entire walk. Unfortunately this is in downtown of a city of several million people, and there is absolutely nowhere for him to run around. He barked at every train, car, bus, or truck that was louder than a hum. I was at a total loss as to how to calm him. So, here to learn more about the breed. He really was one of the sweetest dogs I've walked, but I'm guessing he doesn't belong in a small condo in a major city!!
Cool!! The last 10 years they have become somewhat popular here in Europe, altough not like the Lab or Golden ofc. Know a guy who works with horses who has a female Vizsla and she is gorgeous, altough she is smaller than average, most here are bigger dogs, or at least the males seem to be pretty big from time to time (like the dobberman in height). I have been on the guys property for hours and she won't sit still... at all :-). At night she is calm he tells me but during the day she needs/wants to 'work' constantly. Lovely dogs!
Bart Vandenhaute she’s most likely a canadian or american vizsla then, (unless you live in europe then most likely not) the european vizslas look thicker because of their muscle mass
I had a neighbor walking down my road, and I noticed he had a really nice looking little dog. I am a dog lover and raised labs for years. It was a Vizsla, and very well behaved, and I had my dog out. I have a Goldmaraner, and the body type of my dog is almost identical to these, except mines bigger. She is sleek and graceful. High energy, and attached at the hip. These dogs look smart. I can see the Weimaraner. My dogs sassy too All highly intelligent dogs have that period. . Lol. And some sadly are smarter than others. It is a blessing and a curse. But in the end a blessing. I would love one of these dogs. Epilepsy is common in all dogs now sadly. I have epilepsy too.
I have had many dogs in my 57 years and my Vizsla is the sweetest, and laziest dog i have ever seen. Her name is Bailey and she is a rescue from Texas seperated from her family during Harvey. She is not full blown Vizsla but she has what i believe some yellow lab in her but she is built like a Vizsla. She is blonde with a red nose and gums and runs so damn fast its crazy. One morning walking her before work her nose picked up a rabbit and she caught it and brought it back to me, alive it was, the rabbit was a little stunned but survived as i watched it run off into the woods. She won't let my wife spoon into me, she nudges her way in between us and sleeps like that all night. She is truly a velcro dog but we love her a lot.
I just found out that my last dog i rescued off the street was the wire haired version of this breed. i wish i could attach pictures. He was the best dog I ever had. I miss him so much. It makes so much sense about him after watching this video!
OMG i totally agree with what he said they will find the one thing you love and chew it up. My little Gunner goes after my sunglasses and will climb the wall to get them these are great dogs mine is awesome but I run him everyday to keep him tame.

Vizlas are so picturesque... look they belong in a painting sat at the foot of some Austrian emperor. They even do that thing where they sit on their hind legs with their noses up like they're posing for a picture.
Thank you, great video, beautiful animals.
I have a lab dane mix and she looks exactly like a viszla and shes very calm very protective and followes everywhere
I have a Vizsla Lab mix and this is so accurate!!!!! He is 9 months right now and I absolutely adore him!!!! His name is Noah.
I’ve owned vizslas for over thirty years.... this is the only breed for me. I love their sweetness and their intelligence. They make me laugh, too.
Viszla #1 Dog !!!
Retro Rausch79 its still viZSla
no viszla vizsla
GSP and Vizslas are both amazing and very similar

My wife and I first met more than 30 years ago. For about 26 years she was frightened of dogs and never voluntarily went near any dog. This was a bit of a problem as I absolutely love dogs and say hello to every dog that walks past me, and dogs are very popular where I live.
I asked one of our neighbours if I could walk her Vizsla. My wife was especially daring and came with us and he was such a lovely, intelligent, calm and loyal dog that he single handedly (pawedly?) changed her opinion of dogs and now she loves them.
I'm very grateful to Popeye the Viszla for that.
I have a Vizsla they are so cute I love them so much!
Great video, very informative.
I have a Vizsla and fully agree with everything said. Well filmed too
This dog had me playing fetch with it for 10 hours! They dont get tired
I have a Hungarian vizla she’s so cute and loving
Please...vizsla!
I LOOOOOOVE my Vizsla. She's in training to be my service dog! She's AWESOME! Velcro Vizsla is perfect nickname! She's 2 yes old!
vizslas are great cuddlers, they have short hair and are very soft and warm. some of my favorite dogs at a dog daycare i worked at were vizslas
Best dogs in the world❤❤❤
Indeed.
I love Vizslas, I had the space I would definitively would own one.
Corrado VRz they need exercise, not a garden. Many people have vizslas in small flats.
I have an vizsla myself, hes the sweetest dog ever!
Poor pup!
Thanks for this video. Very helpful. I've been looking into adding a vizsla to the family.
Another great video...vizlas....beautiful dog!love your channel!
Gorgeous! I was set on a Rottweiler or a Doberman, but I'm a Vizsla convert now!
Thats brilliant 😊
I have a veizla and he is amazing
Then she's not a Vizsla. 🤦♂️
Once you've owned a Vizsla, you might never let another breed own you! I've been hooked on them for nearly 45 years now. Training is a must.
BEAUTIFUL BREED looks a little bit to weimarener,, the head, the nose, the eyes... THIS WONDERFUL COLOUR 💋
Kuvaszc, do one on these beautiful, intelligent and loving Hungarian sheepdogs!
I love the honesty
this dog is incredible
All about the Great Pyrenees please
LOGAN or just a review on them in general
YASSSSSSS!!!!! love me some GPD.
5*, some quality content right there, an excellent example of a dog based channel. Loving it, keep up the good work.
I just found out that my last dog i rescued off the street was the wire haired version of this breed. i wish i could attach pictures. He was the best dog I ever had. I miss him so much. It makes so much sense about him after watching this video!
Moss also causes no destruction and she always comes back if she's spotted a deer. Simply call her and she's at your side!
I have a Viszla/pit mix. He is the sweetest dog, I definitely see why they're called Velcro dogs lol
Lindsey morbid gross.
You summed them up nicely. 24 years and 5 vizslas here
Love to watch this well expierened and mature gentleman, very much interesting.
OMG i totally agree with what he said they will find the one thing you love and chew it up. My little Gunner goes after my sunglasses and will climb the wall to get them these are great dogs mine is awesome but I run him everyday to keep him tame.
i have vizla it is soo cute and nice it always play with you it lies nex to you
Vizslas are great dogs!
