Quick question. Why is it so difficult to get a CARB certified catalytic converter for my 2015 wrx? There some aftermarket companies saying they make them but all are out of stock. Subaru wants nearly $2000 for one.
Hey Mrsubaru, honest question about 2010 impreza 2.5i. Is there a way to make or use a ram/cold air intake without it messing with the maf sensor reading making the car run rich? I've been researching for a few weeks now, and can't really find any clear cut way to run an aftermarket intake, for sound and whatever little power it will gain me. Nothing wrong with the stock intake system, I'm just used to always being able to run an intake with cone filter.

Mr Subaru, I have a 2015 Legacy 2.5 with a P1603 (engine stall detected) code and it gets jerky, stumbling on acceleration or just cruising would you possibly know how I can fix this?
Hi Mr Suubaru. I recently have been experiencing the following codes on my 2017 Wrx base: POO0O Misfire related ("PFFFE", "PFFFF") PO171 PO300 PO303 Please, any suggestions as to what I should do? I want to add that I did remove and clean the front and rear oxygen sensors, in an effort, to remedy the issue, to no avail. Prior to the this I was only receiving the P0000 & P303 codes.
I do have a Cobb stage one kit and computer on it. Axle back exhaust and no other modifications. I recently bought an upgraded hose that Subaru provided because the old one was leaking a small amount of oil. It is a simple plug and short hose that is located on the front passenger side and connects to the turbo. A known issue with this particular part. It was simple to replace once I unplugged and removed the fan on that side.
These EJ25s are ticky. As long it doesn’t like like a knocking sound. And is consistent. I think ir most likely the injectors. They make a ton of noise.

subae for some reason, I had to reteach my ecu. There’s a video on it somewhere, worked really good. Fixed the rough idle. And an other reason was that someone connected both the ob1&2 sensor on my 02 wrx. Believe we unplugged the ob1 and the CEL came off.
I bought a used 2014 impreza wrx ltd from the used car lot with almost 87k on it two weeks ago in hawaii for 20k. it was driving relatively smoothly until today. had a lot of jumping engine noise and jerking at low mph on gears 1 and 2, almost as if i was about to stall out. The cel ,cruise control and the traction control lights came on. There was some white smoke at one point but it was thick and very brief. I am just curious as to what the problem could be. Ive driven it around for a little bit and no major issues besides lower gears (the lights are still on).
@Collin sweet for my 2011 hatch it was a misfire on cylinder 1 and 3. No lights on the drive to work, then turn the car on to drive home and boom! Could also be a loose gas cap or even vacuum leak. Did u ever figure it out?
just did the idle air control valve removal and cleaning and she's back to smooth purrring .Thanks.

I found that a vacuum gauge was crucial in diagnosing a rough running 2.2.Oldschool but very telling!
+River rat yup, unfortunately I didn't have a vacuum gauge with me. It was in my toolbox 20 mins away from me.
you can kind of hear the vacuum leak at 1:34 im pretty sure.

U messed up my assuming just cuz he has mods its going out, like you said, start with the simple solutions like a boost leak or 02 sensors

I also cleaned the MAF & MAP sensors.
It was after I cleaned the oxygen sensors that I started getting more codes. The cylinder 3 code and P0000 codes have been consistent throughout.
I used proper cleaner for the MAP & MAF sensors. I used carbon cleaning spray for the oxygen sensors.
Please help.

Can anyone tell me why it has such a noticeable tick on idle? My car does the same thing but it’s a 2011 Wrx.

I’m pretty sure that engine does have a boost pressure sensor. I believe it calculated boost by values of a few different sensors. I could be wrong.
Just added 5.4 qts of valvoline modern engine for the 3rd time. Car now has rough idle and slight miss or backfire. Why is this?

Likely un related. Sounds like a fueling issue or maybe a vacuum leak. Worst case would be compression loss.
