found a bolt and washer sitting on top of my oil filter holder. checked my fan and same thing as you. now i will have to get the radiator off and reatach it with loctite hahaha
I realize it's off topic for this stage but I am building a cx bobber also. It's all mocked up and I have been ridding it a month now. The bike ran great b4 the build but now at idle and very low throttle it coughs and "sneezes" back through the air cleaners. Did you have to re jet your carbs after the exhaust and air cleaner change?
How about replacing the radiator as well, since you do that work, you can get smaller with electric fan. I have seen it in other cx projects. Personally i hate CX radiator and cooling system.
My GL500 has been running 3/4 hot at idle, then got a bad radiator leak this morning, bet I might find something like this going on too.
So I have a 1982 gl500 and it overheats the same! However my mechanical fan is working.

Yeah , very easy to do thermostat on a Gl-CX cafe racer.
A different issue is with a full dressed bike.
Original bike.
I unknowingly guessed the fan was broken! I didn't know the fan was attached to the camshaft.
How do u change spark plug
Hi Luke. What kind off paint did yo use to paint the radiator?

I did have to increase the size of the jets. Sounds like you either have a fuel issue or timing.

I like the look of the radiator. I've seen a few custom radiator mods online, and I'd rather stick with stock.
+Luke Daniel Sure thing, I like your project. Nice work.
So he changed the thermostat and didn't record THAT?
whats the seat height? width and length of that bike?????
Stock.
I know a lot of people like the cafe racer look but i personally don’t like it at all it looks so weird to me idk 🤷♂️ anyway to each his own
Die Kupplungsarmatur gehört hinter den Schalter und nicht davor. Bohrungen im Rahmen ohne Einschweissmuffen? Lebensgefährlicher Pfusch.
ajajajajaj :)
