The warning at the beginning was wise, but the threads in my fan were in great condition and the rear axle seemed to be in good shape as well, so I took the chance. It worked flawlessly for me. Thanks so much!
Well I had put the video up originally with no warning as its always worked 100% for me but some people got upset saying it was dangerous so I changed it to keep the pitchforks away lol. Glad it worked
Very useful, thanks. Unfortunately, the axle is a non-starter as I have a trike. But finding out that I can use a bolt and what pitch is fabulous! Thanks again, bro
Found a new 14mm × 1.5 wheel bolt for a skoda, Audi, VW cheap on eBay. A lots cheaper option than a used cx500 axle. I'm going to be using it only a couple of times to get the fan off for installation of the replacement engine cover and later, when I convert to the kawasaki electric fan.
Hi BJ, that is a quick way to get something that fits into the fan thread. However experience has taught me that if there is already any damage to the fan thread or wear on the axle thread (they are tapered) - Do not do this method. You will break the aluminium core of the fan. Best off getting a proper flat ended bolt or grind the end off the right size of spark plug. Oh and go easy !
Worked like a charm again BJ! Can’t appreciate these vids enough l, such a great resource. Cheers J
Heck yeah dude!
