Considered to be one of the hardest passes for beginner footballers to learn the driven pass is an important tool to develop & add to your game. It will allow you to get out of tight situations, spread the play to open up the game & turn a defensive situation into a promising attack. I'll show you step-by-step how to develop this skill by point out some of the key areas of focus. This one might take some time to learn, but it will change your game once you do.
I hope you enjoy learning this one as much as I do.
Cheers Folks,
Tony

A couple of years ago on an academy team, I played with a centre back who had truly mastered this at about 14 years of age; Rest of our skillset was very similar (physical, technical etc.). He still plays for the academy at the youth level, I don't. Just stumbled upon this video and realised this is what he has been doing all along. Got out on the pitch instantly! Better late than never! Thanks lad❤
Hey man how is it going?
Not to be nosy but how's it going?
you're actually underrated
Thank you 😊
Agree
Relax bro just started like 5 days ago
Definitely
Agreed
I somehow naturally started using this technique not long after i satrted playing football at 12 (ish) years old. Its by far one of the most useful tools to have in your locker, giving you extreme accuracy and power that seems effortless. Not to mention its also very easy to weight the pass using this technique considering the backspin on the ball.
So true mate. A lot easier to control for your team mate too 😁👍
i swear it’s just a normal ping tho, any player who plays at sunday league level 18+ can do this no?
@@timmy5876 probably but i’m pretty sure this video was made for newer or people wanting to get better
Not enough videos go into depth about the body mechanics needed for certain techniques. This is truly quality content and I will be having my team refer to these videos constantly.
🧡🧡🧡
Something I realised when learning this is you need the pitch to be flat, I tried learning it on a field near my house and it was really inconsistent because of how unlevel the ground was. When I went out to proper pitch it was so much easier to learn.
I just discovered this channel, and im mind blown over the quality of these videos.
Immediately Subbed!
Thank you!!! Really happy you’re enjoying my first few videos 😃😃😃
Hh
same
I’m actually pretty decent at this type of pass, but then against I’ve been practicing it for like 3 years at this point so…
But still it’s still really helpful to see what things I can still implement to improve it… thanks
I agree mate. I wasn’t until I was breaking it down that I learned some new things about it 👍 Keep up the good work 🧡
Have you been trying to learn the driven pass? Wondering what you’ve found to be helpful in your learning process
Congratulations on 1k subscribers 🎉🎉🎉
@@noobifyedits thank you!!!🎉🎉🎉 Sort of came out of no where 😂
@@thefootballfolk 😂
Love the content. I just started playing one evening a week with some mates around a year ago. In my mid 30s, no prior experience, but hoping to put some of the tips from your channel into practice. Looking forward to the rollout of a course
Love your content! It's right up there with the best of the pro content lesson providers on YT. I like your attention to detail and explanations with video footage. For shots, if you can show more slow motion with different angles, especially for foot contact points for different shots and passes that would be really helpful. I'm a youth coach and your content will come in handy as extra hw for my players. Thank you!
So glad to hear it Tom!!! Appreciate the lovely comment, and actually I’ve just made a video that you might find helpful 😁👍 Check it out when you get a sec (it’s the most recent video about shooting)
Top notch videos. The effort and time spent editing them is very obvious. Keep it up and I hope to see this channel explode in subs. Best of luck!!
Thanks so much! That’s very kind of you ❤️
Bless, I’ve been meaning to learn this technique
just discovered this channel and i just wanna say i love ur content pls make more ur literally saving my football career
Wow that’s awesome to hear! Thanks for the support ❤❤
Dang I shoot and make any form of passing via this technique by my own instinct, I didn't really think much of it until I relealized I can make curvy long range shots with this, one of my fondest memories was curling a right foot shot from 3 yards outside the box. My shot curved into the middle-top corner and it was a 1-0 win. Thanks for explaining this tho I have gained more knowledge
Amazing video, short, precise straight to the point. You've my sub :D
Cheers matey 😊👍
Brilliant and informative
Mate. I think you are one of the best at this. Clearly a scholar at the tekks
i absolutely love ur vids, helps me out a lot. KEEP UPLOADING!!!
That’s awesome!! New video will hopefully be out on Tuesday 😍😍
I started doing this during football training in secondary school not being aware that its a proper technique. I never trained it or anything, just came naturally to me and I got some very nice crosses and passes to my mates.
I can easly say that is the best football tutorial in youtube..thank you for your hardworking on this vids🖤💕
Thank you for your thanks! That means a lot 🧡🧡
This is very helpful
It's amazing just how many top flight professionals can't hit a ball this way start by just making that sweet connection then as you grow in confidence your technique will improve then increase the power. Its the sweetest way of hitting a ball a wet pitch is beautiful for it. Watch some Paul Scholes videos he was the master of this.
bro great videos thanks for starting this channel
Thanks Ameen!!! 🧡🧡
Brilliant channel, incredible video quality, keep it up
Much appreciated! Thank you!!
i have instantly subscribed after watching this video cause im learning football and long passing is my favourite aspect

This is the technique I struggle with the most, I just barely get it off the ground but hopefully these pointers can help me learn this pass
Keep it going man, the way you make videos is awesome

Nah but its crazy how good this video actually is for such a low sub count. Im subscribing!
Awesome!! Thanks for being here 👍❤️ I really appreciate it
Teach me how to goal kick! 60-70 yard kick on a consistent basis, please?! The step by step, foot positioning, body positioning, part of foot strike with, how to follow through, etc. Everything you did here, but for a goal kick.
Please?
Class video mate👍
Thank you mate ❤️
Toni is possibly the best player to showcase the driven pass. He just make its look so damn easy. One of the reason why I look up to him
Great video. Unrelated question--where was this filmed?
thank you. good video with good quality
So nice of you! Cheers Michael ❤️

I don't understand why you are really underrated
Amzing video 😀
Thank you!
Looking to advance my passing range as a defender coz I don't have the power for the cross field passes. This one will help. Subscribed😁
So glad to hear!! I’m working on a shooting video that might also help with your cross field passes. Should be out next week 👍
An accurate, timely ping (driven pass) can immediately beat 8 of the 11 players on the opposing team, creating an instant goal-scoring opportunity.
Happened to me in a match yesterday. I was one of those 8 players, unfortunately. We lost 1-0. Friggin pings, man.
🧡🧡🧡
Keep going brother love from india🇮🇳
Appreciate it Afsi!! ❤️
ur gaining subs so fast

Don't know how I stumbled here but loving all the technique advice 👊🏼🔥
YES Bilaal!! Appreciate you being here 🧡
The weather seems nice for practice ✨
Been rainy and windy the past few days 😂
for me the biggest thing is making sure your planting foot is at least a foot away from the ball, especially if you want distance or if your using your weak foot.
Hey liked your work.. Can u plz also make a video on how to receive long and fast passes quickly..
You betcha 👍👍👍
gonna master this pass this year
Nice!!! Enjoy 👍
Boy do I wish a park like that in my city.
Thank you very much
You are welcome!! 🧡
I'll practice this on the trainments :D
hey brother please make an video of tap in goals for strikers
Keep it up bro love from Nepal

I love the amount of Toni Kroos influence this video has
The guy is class 🙌🧡
My man opened a new aproach of teching football
Yes!!! Glad you enjoyed it mate! 🧡
I'll also add once you can strike a ball this way you will realise the less force you need to deliver the pass when striking that sweet spot
Holy crap, I thought you had more subscribers than me, but trust me you will have over 1M subs by the end of the year, Btw I subbed 🎉🎉
😂😂😂 Thank you, I’ll have to check back in with you later in the year 😅
@@thefootballfolk Yes 😂😂😅😅
I’ve been binge watching your videos because I have a scout coming to my next match
Amazing!! Good luck 🤞
@@thefootballfolk thank you

Thanks mate!!! 🧡🧡
Pre COVID i was very good with this kind of pass after an ankle injury I just lost the ability to even do this at a very short range but I'm gonna practice again.
You got this!! Just make sure you give yourself a good warm-up ❤️💪
@@thefootballfolk thank you. I don't play at any good level but i used to play for my college team i just don't want to lose my skills that's it but again thanks for replying.
@@dd-uf9nw you’re welcome mate 🧡
Amazing youtuber
❤❤
I just realized he only has 85k followers... You deserve better
Honestly I don’t know why I’m struggling so much with this pass. I watched so many videos on how to do it and still can’t get that height and distance I want , it either hits my heel or my toe when I attempt to do this pass. I also heard locking your ankle by pointing your toes down helps too but it ends up becoming and arched foot when I strike. And this goes for all long ball techniques I really don’t know why I can’t execute it it properly
Thanks for the comment. I would try and record yourself in slow motion, and compare that with my technique. Sometimes it’s the small thing like foot placement and confidence to follow through. Hopefully there are things you’ll notice that you can change 👍🧡
I did
Love u
You've had me at a Acquire Target 🎯
😏😏😏.. Appreciate it matey 😁🧡
1:40 🖕 (useful video, I appreciate it🏅)
Thanks
🤞🏼🤞🏼 one day ⚽️
Keep at it 👍
I've mastered this
Legend!!
Bro you should do a video on essential ways to receiving a pass stationary and on the move off to a dribble.
Heyy, appreciate the suggestion. I’ll add it to the list, but if you haven’t done so already, maybe check out the “7 signs of a Good Footballer” video as that touches on some of the concepts 👍😁ua-cam.com/video/dRFDz6PYnB8/v-deo.html
@@thefootballfolk dope I subbed, btw I think this should be necessary since all of the videos on UA-cam are just constant dribbling drills and move tutorials and not necessarily building of essential stuff to be taught.
I've searched countless times on UA-cam and not a single one showed a tutorial on the subject of passing or receiving.
Anyone know the name of his boot?
I’ve been trying to deconstruct this technique to teach my kids. One thing I’ve discovered is my kids need to initiate a more forward lean into the approach by getting on the balls of their feet and just shifting their weight almost falling forward into the final two steps. Does that make sense?
Nice, so may different ways to achieve the same thing. Love it mate 👌
Bro this actually really helped unfortunately we lost tho
🧡🧡🧡
Could you please give knuckle ball tutorial
I certainly will 😁👍 Just might be a few videos away from now 🧡
Looks like pohutukawa, are you in nz?
They sure are 🧡 I live in Wellington 😁
I used to practice and execute this pass every game and scrimmage then my ankle got severely injured and now my body refuses to repeat this technique. Been practicing to get this ability back but it’s hard fighting against your own body being afraid. Hopefully I can get it back since it’s a beautiful feeling. Any tips are welcomed.
I can completely relate to this. I’ve severely sprained my left ankle a dozen times (no exaggeration) and over the years it’s massively affected my confidence to take on players in fear I’ll stand on their foot and it will go again. I found that strapping it until I built up some confidence helped, but it’s important to build strength and stability back into it if possible. I’ll touch on this in the next few weeks with a short 👍 so stay tuned 😁
beautiful place to record!
I am super fortunate to live where I live. It makes filming so much easier 😂
Cool little bonus feature: This pass also assaults those behind you 1:47
🫣😅 I broke this finger 😔
I did this before and didnt know how
Nice!!!
❤
How do we convert this into the driven shot
Did you see the end of the video? There I explain some of the tweaks needed to switch it over 👍
I learned this by the time I was 10 from watching Beckham, was easy.
Can you do crossing plz
You betcha! One of my favourite topics 👍 Might be a few videos away at this point 🙏
I’m a goalkeeper and that also how you do a goal kick
Spot on 👍 I bet you can kick it quite far..
what boots are you wearing mate?
They are a couple of years old at this point. Believe they are the nike phantom venom 👍👍
WOW YOUR THE BEST PLS MAKE MORE VIDS PLS LIKE PLSSSSSS
