In this video, I'll work Band-Countries (DXCC Challenge) #2,175 & #2,176! I demonstrate how to configure and use Ham Radio Deluxe HRD Alert with WSJT-X
So I publically now recant (although it was still a little rambling). My reason is that I realize that HRD is investing in their infrastructure and changing it. Others software seem to be hanging on until it's over and their systems just can't go anywhere. So, I am.fully adopting HRD. It does take some.patience and great attention to details. I bought the license, I will be renewing it this year to drive added features. De WO8USA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
A couple of points/questions; Mike can you add the "yellow halo" to your mouse please. We see drop down option boxes appear without knowing what you have clicked on. Also, I run two copies of wsjt-x simultaneously, one for the IC-9700 on vhf and one for IC-7300 for hf, HRD logger works fine in capturing the wsjt-x output, but I am guessing that using HRD as the rig selection won't work for me as rig control can only see one rig at a time? Finally, with the major release of hrd, speed was mentioned as a big feature. I have a log with possibly 11,000 entries in it and opening an entry takes about 11 seconds. Can I speed this up at all please. 73 de Terry G0BIX
The next release will eliminate Access and it will be very fast. I also have an article called "The Problem with Access" on our main page and support page. It covers tips on how to speed up Access. Rig Control allows you to connect multiple rigs simultaneously. You select the rigs from within Logbook (radio tab).
Why in my QSO FORWARDING TAB, the "My station fields should be" - in both cases alway resort to "IGNORE"? Also I only have two options in these tabs : 'MERGE" OR "IGNORE. What am I doing wrong ? (HRD LOGBOOK version 6.80.340.
It's part of the optional Ham Radio Deluxe Software Maintenance & Support. See detail here: support.hamradiodeluxe.com/support/solutions/articles/51000065533-what-does-my-purchase-entitle-me-to-
@@HamRadioDeluxe I have VSPE running with "one" simple com port I can access my Radio simultaneously from WSJT / LogBook / JS8CALL / VARAC / WINLINK It's not complex, it actually very simple
I went through all these setting from a previous video and got all the way to the point where I had to pay for (half again of the purchase price) for a maintenance plan in order to make this feature work. As nice as it is, I am going to have to pass.
Software Maintenance & Support entitles you to all the feature additions and unlimited tech support for a 12 month period. After that 12 months, the Software Maintenance & Support renewals are optional.
Very confusing to hear the text to voice interfering with your explanations.
Point noted.

By the way... I confirmed both of these DXCC Challenge points within an hour of putting them in the log.
Well done! You're awesome!

Choose Merge for now. We're revamping that. It really has to do with what to do with YOUR grid location as the QSO is delivered to Logbook.
Is a yearly maintenance purchase required to keep using HRD alert after the first year? Or do I buy it once and done like HRD?

Why not use VSPE for Virtual Comm Ports for Multi Radio ? Multi Application Support..??
Because it's just additional and unnecessary complexity when WSJT-X already accesses the API.

And for what it's worth... you don't have to "make the feature work."
