15 years ago, HRD on MAC virtual windows machine was a pain about the war on com ports hard sharing between OSX and WIN. Being a HRD user since maybe 2005, now having the most fun with baby SDRcontrol on a MAC, keeping the HRD for CW tries. Keep up the commitment to the cause. TNX GL 73

41:30 the issue with the FT-891 is native side-band buttons on HRD will not switch to the opposite side band. Example: in 10m USB. Try switching to LSB, it won't switch on the radio. Seems HRD is not using the correct CAT commands with the FT-891. I emailed Yaesu. I have a ticket opened with HRD as well.

Great video thanks. HRD is a great help for me, i can work my radio with rig Control .
My BIGGEST want is to have the correct frequencies listed in the band tabs for satellites in Satellite Tracker including the ISS, and in the Slow Scan TV SSTV package. Next BIG want would be to have RSID be "ON" by default to assist us knowing what mode the distant station is using rather than us having to hunt the mode they are using.

Since this software does not support the Xiegu G90 what can you suggest instead of this?
I asked them about the G90 support in December last year and nothing happened…?

Ham Radio is a hobby but it's also much more than that. If course you can choose to do whatever you want. But I hope you don't own any Icom, Yaesu or Kenwood radios and you have built all your radios yourself, since you think everything in Ham Radio should be free

How many people would actually buy HRD...the best and most costly software for Ham Radio while using the G90...one of the least expensive radios for Ham Radio?
Like I said...serious question. I will ask HRD about the G90, I don't actually know if it is supported.
@@HamRadio2 I can't honestly say that I've tried it to use my G90 with HRD, but when I first started using the G90 I was able to substitute some ICOM models to get CAT working on the G90. Those ICOM radios happen to be compatible with HRD, so I don't see why you couldn't at least get some rig control. That should provide some basic functionality. Guess I'll have to try it this weekend. Good video that covered a lot of good questions. Thanks.
@@HamRadio2 The G90 is a great radio, and not necessarily the cheapest. The high end radio's have their own software to work the cat, and HRD is not needed.
Except it still will not code/decode Thor 22.
Does it do Ironman or Spiderman?
@@HamRadio2 lol, no, but fldigi can, and I am still scratching my head why HRD doesn't. There are volunteer emergency services that utilize Thor 22 to pass messaging between stations.
I thought HRD was freeware. It even gave you a warning when you install it to "NEVER PAY FOR HRD!" WHAT GIVES?
That was probably the original dev. As far as I know, it was free but the current folks bought it and began selling it.
There used to be a free version that was a "lite" version - it didn't contain everything that the paid version does.
