I added a few things myself and left some others, but I basically edited this wikia entry.
backtothefuture.wikia.com/wiki/Recurring_gags
I didn't want to include every bit of dialogue that has a payoff later because there are A LOT. Also, it doesn't always work visually.
I chose to include the lines that echoes each other throughout the movies, but not catchphrases, since it doesn't have any connection beyond the catchphrase itself in the context of the scene.
And this is not necessarily an easter-egg video.
dimitreze could y'all do JFK portrayed in movies and TV please
I will do in the future! it might take a while
17:07 You missed the clip from BTTF3 when Marty gets back to 1985, goes to get his truck, and Biff tells him "I was just putting on the second coat of wax"
Your syncing of the scenes in this video is second to none
At 2:41, you forgot about when Marty is in the alternate 1985 Hill Valley.
"DeLorean Stalling" - so that's why they stopped producing this vehicle :)
No in the movie it was because the engine died
@@coreyabell2497 Exactly. Irl, it was notorious for the engine dying often, usually due to the under-sized alternator which failed to properly charge the battery and it didn't produce enough current to power everything in the car at the same time. So you turn on the radio and the engine dies. Turn the headlights on and the engine dies. Doc Brown used a mark 1 DeLorean. The mark 2 had a much larger alternator so it did not have the same issue. The mark 3 only sold for about 4 months before the company went belly up.
Back to the Future is a perfect example of chaos (in a good way) that is still easy to understand.
it's like poetry - it rhymes.
-George Lucas
Speaking as a Back to the Future aficionado, even I learned a few things from this! Well done!
thanks
It’s only now, watching this, that I realize that Doc’s Time Train is basically a scaled-up version of his model train locomotive from the diorama.
14:00: Um . . . Tannen gets knocked *OUT,* not knocked UP! The two are _VERY_ different!
Yep!
Dimitri, this is awesome. Not only does it show how the sequels were developed based off re-writing the original script, but even the story beats match.
You somehow just made one of the best trilogies ever even better.
4:13 Biff: hey mcfly. Griff: Hey mcfly! Mad dog: HEY MCFLY!!!!!!!!!!!
"Nobody calls me mad dog!"
1:26 LOL! Perfect sync.
I think you left out the 1985A version of "Walking through Hill Valley". Also, it might've been worth putting in a section for "first person perspective during time travel" since it happens once in each movie.
14:20 is the best part.
Yep 😂
14:21
Love this movies the script who ever did it is a genius super brilliant 💪
8:28 crazy how similar these all are 💯
You missed the one when Doc and Marty explain to each other the difficulties of obtaining plutonium
From all the Hill Valley reveals, I really love the one from Part III because of the music.
You should compare all the similar scenes in the Home Alone sequels.
(In case you don't know, there's 5 Home Alone movies now.)
3:38 the door opening sounds go with Beat it
Lul
Michael Jackson also opens the door that way in the original music video 😮
This is fucking great! LOL. So basically they did this movie three times, past, present future! But it's virtually the same thing over and over. Something poetic about that! LOL Thank you uploader. Great Job!!! You could be a full-time editor if you aren't already! LOL
thanks! :)
16:12 that actually syncs up JUST as well with Part 2; that music from the first one would’ve given everyone a false sense of security that Marty was actually back home, only to have the next scene play out 🤣🤣
Great Scott This Is Heavy
Yes, and of course the conclusion of those exchanges where Marty and Doc switch sayings was a great moment in connecting their characters.
4:57 Perfect Timing (except for "Yellow").
*C h E C k e N?*
"Nobody calls me chicken!"
OMFGGGGG THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO YOU WILL NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH I NEEDED IT IM CRYING
you welcome
I got another one you missed: Doc's machines for making breakfast at the beginning of the first movie and in the third movie.
oh yeaaaah, totally true
@@dimitreze Scenes at the school dance albeit from a different angle and Marty playing Johnny B. Goode🎸in parts one and two! When George punches Biff! The scene where 1955 Doc see's the delorean go back to the future from parts 1, 2 and 3. 😀🤗🎥🕵♀
15:44 left clip says Back to the Future II, but the clip is from part one.
WannaKnowMyName argh, shit. my bad 😕😕
14:10 Too.
@@arfansthename ya
4:57 Synced beautifully
Biff, you’re forgetting one thing “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT” 👉
Very well done! Reminds me of the "Community" video on here with all seven timelines at once from the Remedial Chaos Theory episode, centered on the one constant in all seven timelines.
thanks! :)
This was awesome! I loved the "Hello, Hello, anybody home."
Anybody else think the second one is the best
The first one is great but the second one is more suspenseful when he goes back to 1955 and gets darker with biffs 1985 and arguably funnier when when he went to 2015
Fascinating....
You forgot about the weather experiment gag, but great job.
I found a lot of recurring stuff in back to the future 1, 2, and 3 there all my favorite movies of all times thats why I searched up a video like this
I think you forgot the "in the back" line. First spoken by Lou when Marty asks if there was a phone in the diner, and it was said again in the Palace Saloon (Part III) when Marty asks if there was a back door.
oh yeah, you are right!
I'm suprised 'one mans trash is another mans treasure' isn't in this. When Marty looks at the discarded newspaper in 1955, when Old Biff takes the discarded almanac in 2015, and Doc fueling the Mr. Fusion.
Request: Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York (Recurring Gags and Motifs)
This is great. There were some things I hadn’t thought of. I have a few more for you.
-2:41 you missed Marty walking through 1985A Hill Valley
-In both BTTF and BTTF Part III there’s a “breakfast machine” based on clocks that makes breakfast and it was totally an intentional homage in Part III
-in all 3 movies there is a shot of the Lyon Estates sign in 1985 with someone going through it. In the first movie it’s Marty on his skateboard, in the second it’s Doc and Marty in the DeLorean, and in the 3rd it’s just Marty on foot
-in BTTF and BTTF III a sign is changed (BTTF it’s “Twin Pine” to “Lone Pine” Mall and in III it’s Clayton to Eastwood Ravine)
-Wilson as mayor, and his son as the hover conversion guy
-uncle Joey being behind bars is referenced in Part II
-Pepsi in every movie. We know where it is in the first and second but for Part III it’s very brief. One of Needles’ gang members is holding a Pepsi while hanging onto the back of Needles’s truck.
But I loved your video a lot
nice catches! not all would work on my video, but you nailed some things I never noticed.
see my pinned comment for my thought process
Nice work, great job!
Thanks for this video! Awesome!

You forgot one! when Marty was exploring alternate 1985, the camera movement is similar when he walks around the town square around the bikers.
Cool!
I noticed that some scenes from back to the future part 1 are labeled as part 2 by accident.
...fricken "documentaries" LOL
Good video 👍
Hey McFly! Good sync :)

Crazy to think - Marty could’ve killed Biff in 1955 and it’ll be all good
