I thought it was a nice landing. Touched down, and went straight to the maintenance shed... :-) I do love the radial 190's. Such a cool craft.

9:10 according to a recent video from "Greg's Airplanes and Automobiles" this bird has less drag then a Spitfire despite that big radial. Was surprising to me but would explain why you struggle to slow her down ;)

The 190 A8 had the GM-1 to grow up a bit the power...
But DCS seems not to care..
I read furious discussions about ...🤣

Thanks for the video. I wish the audio was better, the person that is giving Cap instructions voice is very hard to understand to a point that I would need subtitles. (specifically when he is talking about landing speeds)

Hello. I’m really having trouble taking off so I don’t need to pull back stick. Correct. The plane will take off itself right. Greg

Well, I thought you were being clever, on landing, by heading straight for the Bar........Bravo! (see below, Thor's comment) Pete. (Who still wants one)

Thumbs up 91 what’s that box in the lower left? How do you bring it up? I’m using your take off instructions it works well for me 🙂

That's the controls indicator, RCtrl + Enter to bring it up. It's in every module, you can see your stick, rudder, throttle and brakes position there.

I'm sorry but I'm confused how to use the carrier communications and I was hoping you could make a video about it thanks

I have made a clear canopy and 90% finished on an English cockpit for the Fw190-A8 but need help creating the description.lua so it can be used in Saved Games and pass the multiplayer integrity check. If anyone knows how to link the new textures with the corresponding files in the .lua could you please contact me so I can finish these mods and share them with the community.

Is there something similar to WEP war emergency power - like in war thunder? If so - how do you activate it? Just can't seem to find any info about that...

no WEP in this jet that I know of

@@harryhallersflightdiary847 It's not made up. The 190As from -3 to -8 had the same BMW 801D-2 engine, but things around it evolved. Basically that engine produces 1700hp at 1.42ata MP and 2700 RPM. The cooling of the early A-3 and A-4 (which added the shutter flaps the -3 didn't have) models wasn't sufficient though, so these got restricted to 1.32ata, 2400rpm, putting out just 1560hp. The A-5 had a longer nose which provided better cooling and it basically was the first variant to use the engine to its full power. The A-8, which was heavier due to the armament and armouring changes (outboard 20mm MG FF cannons with 90 rounds each were replaced by MG 151/20 with 145 rounds each with the A-6, but the wing itself was made lighter; 13mm cowling MG 131 with 475 rounds each replaced the old 7.92mm MG 17 with 950 rounds each with the A-7 and the engine armour has been buffed with the A-8) needed more power however to make up for the performance loss and very early the C3-Injection "Erhöhte Notleistung" was introduced which let the engine run at 1.58-1.65ata, putting out 1980hp (I used hp instead of PS - back in the day there were slight differences in those actually, I refer to the German numbers here). And exactly this is what we're missing in DCS... basically it worked similar to the MW-50, but it just injected the fuel the thing was using anyway, which was 97 octane C3. 109s and the 190D used 84 octane B4 instead. This could be used 3 times for 10 minutes with 10 minutes of cooling in between per sortie.

C3 or GM-1 (Caldwell JG 26 war diary ).. So the 190 A8 in DCS is a joke

I'm curious, how does this one compare to the Dora? Which is more fun to fly? Opinions pls :)

    • @grimreapers
      @grimreapers  5 років тому +1

hmmm tough one that. Being honest Dora seems a bit more stable and poss a little faster. A8 a little easier to land. Both terrible dogfighting.

@Grim Reaper there is not a big difference in acceleration between a8 and D9? Engine is more reliable in A8 and which one you'ld suggest to buy as first module?

How hard it this to takeoff & land. Is it another DCS prop disaster. Like most. I have real taildragger experience not even real aerobatic aircraft are this difficult to handel in real life. If they were insurance would NEVER allow them overhead or near crowds at airshow around the world
