I can't believe its been a year since l'manberg's independence. This song is really beautiful. It has all of our memories of the smp and the amazing stories told, and even though I joined the fandom near the end of l'manburg I feel so nostalgic for everything and I nearly cried at one point. This is such a throwback to the past. It's a story being told through such a meaningful way of a meaningful thing. L'manburg fell, but it will always live in our hearts. I absolutely love the book of photographs. It fit the song so well. It started with a van, ended as a war, but will be remembered as something beautiful to many. L'manburg had many flaws, but to the people who knew of it? Were a part of it? This sounds like a song I’d sing my kids, sounds dumb but if I have kids I want to tell them the story of the smp (well maybe tone down some things and change some stuff) but I want to tell them I was there or something, that I remember these city’s being built and watching them fall that that nation was mine and I loved it. I love this point of view of seeing the stories of each Dream SMP member as a legend lost to time. It makes everyone, from the madman Wilbur, to the unkillabke Technoblade, to the underdog Tommy, feel even more... well, legendary than ever! Also love how the second dives past the legend and into their feelings, humanizing them more and showing just how important the moral conflict was too!

I cried. God damn it. L'manberg may not be real but let's be honest it's the only fictional country I've and probably maybe you cared about. I can't believe its over. I mean I was there at the beginning, it's crazy that it feels as if it was a lifetime ago and yet only yesterday. Honestly feels like and old book I keep with my collection of fairytales
Ok ok ok. Imagine. The first singer jumping at the chance to sing about early Lmanburg, it’s glories and memories because they were there, they were a soldier and they sung to the tune of songs that the lmanburgians would scream during the dead of night to raise the spirits of everyone. The instruments are played by people who also fought in the independence war. Violin, tambourine, guitar, i think i hear a flute? The second singer joined in to talk about exile (i personally hc that multiple ppl (aka tommy’s chat) were exiled because they did a lot of the things he did, but only tommy got a trial cause he was the vp) tommy was taken to log but chat were dropped off somewhere closer to nlmb though they sometimes dropped by to make sure tommy was ok. So they knew about exile, they saw him deteriorating, and the home part is also them yearning to go back to nlmb The first singer then jumps back in to talk about how things were nlmb while ppl were exiled. They then continue singing together for doomsday which they were both there for And then sing for lmb in general, the first singing for a home they lost, who’s lost the pure hope they had when they first arrived in lmb, a tired veteran who has lived for longer than they expected. The second singer who never got the chance to experience lmanburg, never got to experience the songs and dancing, who only remembers the country built upon planks that would bend and shake, the president who seemed a little too aged, and the vp war vet who still sung songs of lamburg’s glory, who still sings, who still screams the songs in the dead of night knowing that someone out there would sing back (said song is jump in the cadillac, i dont make the rules) Both just wanting to go home, whatever that is.
I’m not crying, you are. But seriously great job! It feels like a song that would be sung around campfires centuries after the characters we know are gone.

The first singer jumping at the chance to sing about early Lmanburg, it’s glories and memories because they were there, they were a soldier and they sung to the tune of songs that the lmanburgians would scream during the dead of night to raise the spirits of everyone. The instruments are played by people who also fought in the independence war. Violin, tambourine, guitar, i think i hear a flute?
The second singer joined in to talk about exile (i personally hc that multiple ppl (aka tommy’s chat) were exiled because they did a lot of the things he did, but only tommy got a trial cause he was the vp) tommy was taken to log but chat were dropped off somewhere closer to nlmb though they sometimes dropped by to make sure tommy was ok. So they knew about exile, they saw him deteriorating, and the home part is also them yearning to go back to nlmb
The first singer then jumps back in to talk about how things were nlmb while ppl were exiled.
They then continue singing together for doomsday which they were both there for
And then sing for lmb in general, the first singing for a home they lost, who’s lost the pure hope they had when they first arrived in lmb, a tired veteran who has lived for longer than they expected. The second singer who never got the chance to experience lmanburg, never got to experience the songs and dancing, who only remembers the country built upon planks that would bend and shake, the president who seemed a little too aged, and the vp war vet who still sung songs of lamburg’s glory, who still sings, who still screams the songs in the dead of night knowing that someone out there would sing back (said song is jump in the cadillac, i dont make the rules)
Both just wanting to go home, whatever that is.
