Good explanation but, I disagree. There are no screens to break on the mini, on the day you posted this it was actually about $200 on GoPro's website and it has substantially better video than any of the DJI action cams. For anybody putting their action cameras in real danger (their intended use imo) it's a good camera. Firmware updates are needed to be a 'great' camera (fixing the freezing issue is a must, for sure) but if durability AND image quality is the goal it's the one to beat, seriously.
First off, awesome video...thank you! I agree with you @Chadd, I just picked on up and I'll be using if for Moto (Enduro). I don't want to take pictures, and I certainly don't want screens to break after getting roosted with a golf ball size rock. Firstly, you smack of being a DJI fan boy, no doubt sponsored by DJI - you should probably disclose that if so. As for the Mini11 - You falsely reported the pricing for a start! It also doesn't overheat like the Action2, it has better dynamic range, the app is perfectly fine for what FPV pilots need, the 11 has a much larger sensor (with added modes), and should I mention 10 bit colour? Oh, and ReelSteady - shits all over GyroFlow, and the recording time is longer, installing the GoPro Labs enables instant changes via QR codes. The freezing problem is easily fixed by holding the BT button for 10 seconds (if needed) and by using a decent Micro SD, then there's NO freezing. The Mini 11 doesn't have breakable screens, it's robust and takes a beating, it's smaller frontage and less wind resistance is excellent for FPV, (yes, just like the other smaller action cameras). As for photo mode - did you mention we can actually grab high quality stills from ANY of our video footage if we wanted to? for people who actually use these cameras for actions sports it is actually everything I have been waiting for. - the normal gopros have become too bulky for true POV filming, especially in the water as you need a float. it gets in the way of the experience. - the action 2 is good but the battery life and memory is an issue. if they had made it with a little bigger battery and with a memory cad slot I would have been sold - the mini is small enough to be not a pain in the water, the extra arms are perfect leash attachment points so no float, and there are no screens to get damaged, combined with decent battery life and SD card slot it's definitely the best option

Idk for whom it was designed but its perfect for airsoft. Small and no screens for BBs to break.
I use my mini go pro 2 times and battery 🪫 has an “X” not turning on. Lost my money and not more camera 😢
DM me I have a surprise for you 🎁🎁🎁
I think it’s really only for fpv. For those who don’t wanna solder the bones. I can’t see another really really good use for it.
Lol... it's like for those lazy FPV guys. Maybe true. Such a small small niche group of people. With the new DJI FPV and GyroFlow app, it's all changed
Lol
Kayak fishing, bank fishing etc
Check out the last 2 videos on my channel for real world use
@@AuthenTech Lazy FPV guys...wow clearly you don't fly FPV. "A small niche group of people" - guess you have no idea of the FPV community, we've been flying with GoPros long before you made a deal with DJI. Have you decalred your commercial interest with DJI yet? Doesn't appear so.
Dang. I do not mind having to set the settings on the tiny screen like you would on a lesser priced camera and I was excited that GoPro was making a smaller camera given the full size are super heavy for a hat camera but that proprietary battery is a no go for me. Such a disappointment but all in all the footage is great.
Everyone else has already explained why they disagree with what you've said, so I'm just going to add this unnecessary comment and like the comments correcting your false points.
In Croatia price difference of 11 Black and 11 Black Mini is 200€ that's huge... I bought Mini...
very good bro thanks for helping me in best camera
Go pro hero 8 or dji osmo 3?
Good video man
I really like the sky via the DJI Action. Makes sense though, I'm sure they were focused on drone pilots more than anything.
I was able to pick mines up for $199 direct from GoPro back in late last year
Still I'd go with the mini. I have my smartphone as secondary if LCD is an issue.
Thx! buying a pair of 11 mini as soon as i get home
Works great for FPV and you can use the phone to frame or settings.
I've the 5session since 2017.. best cam ever, 0 problems
This vid just proves how adults are all just big kids with bigger toys lol. Definitely going with the Action 2, that small form can't be beat
For FPV flying for me the 11 mini is great . Sturdy and very easy to use.
I’m sold. I want one.
Ben, great video. Love the trash can at the end.
I dont regret getting the gopro for a second after seeing 5k vs dji 4k, difference is black and white

News flash. Not everyone wants or needs a screen on a action camera. I still run my hero 5 session. 👌
0:40 - 0:44 Got me rolling 🤣
Mine froze and I returned it. Not amused.
Even for fpv it’s only 20 grams lighter???
It wont take pictures??
now the 11 mini costs less
It's perfect for Airsoft. No screen that can be shot up and with replaceable lens. and you just use a USB power bank
DM me I have a surprise for you 🎁🎁🎁
I just bought it yesterday its going to be epic on a fpv drone
So, now you can get the Mini for $199... Makes it more attractive.. Plus, I don't need need a still camera when I have my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I'll never use the front facing screen and I'm really not going to be changing the camera settings that much... I just need a compact "Action sports Camera" to shoot short videos with a great image and superb stabilization. Scary not to be able to pull the battery when the GoPro is frozen. We'll see some new GoPros in September, but for two hundred bucks I think I can make some good content with the Mini 11.
the sound on the mini is actually good. You chould use that without an exernal mic. While the 11 and the dji are sound very bad
because there is no screen, there is no way to be sure whether the camera angle is good or bad.
Unplug the micro SD card from the GoPro 11 mini and it will unfreeze it
How are you going to open with it’s the same price. That’s is Amazons site not GoPro.
For that reason I can’t take you seriously.
They should bring back the session
I love NY gopro 11. I just prefer the screens on it over something like the mini.
well..the new Hero looks pretty awesome. Mistakenly clicked this thinking it was a review of it.
Looking at the footage, DJI has MUCH worse dynamic range. I guess if you have special needs and can accept the size of GoPro Mini but you cannot accept full size GoPro, then the Mini makes sense for any scenes with high dynamic range.
That's why if gopro don't stop making these same mistakes, they'll end up bankrupt, DJI's action camera are getting better and better.
I love the DJI action 2. I just wish the dynamic range was as good as gopros
Shoot in d-cinelike and color grade it, you'll appreciate it
best camera for fpv drone
Hello guys I have a Problem:
Hero 11 Mini:
5.3k 30FPS
10bit colors
Max/MIN ISO 100
WB: 5500K
Sharpness: LOW
Labs settings:
NR01=1
BITR=180
SanDisk Extreme Pro, 128GB, exFAT
yesterday i tried 3 times with 8 bit (everything worked till i stopped the recording after around 5 minutes, worked flawlessly...
today I tried it with 10 bit on, any my recordings 5/10 have stopped randomly sometimes it worked for 5-6 minutes sometimes after 3 minutes it broke up....
what can i change to still have 10 bit and NR=1 (which Bitrate is reliable?) or is it maybe because of the 10 bit or because of the NR=1? (I think NR=1 = off should make less Processing power for the GoPro or am I wrong?)
The sad part is, I though everything works perfectly and I travel south east asia right now, so there is no Time for flying in the same spot a few times....
I really want a field testet setting that never stops my recording (FPV Flying, turn the GoPro on and start recording when everyhting else is ready for takeoff..)
Thank you guys...
Thank you for calling it “the DJI” every single other creator calls it the “DGI” lol
I think the same when it was new on market , but is really don’t understand why it need better they make GoPro Max 2 )) then spend money to make it produce )
