Always enjoy watching Emma going through these lore videos, there's so much philosoph-WITH A HAIL OF HARPOONS!! Also I'm filing away "deep-fried lightning" for later
I like to see that it's not just me that talks/respnds to what Vaati is saying in the video lol I agree, I thought there should be more about the verdigris and the outer god in there. Maybe in another video?
I always found it kind of funny that Bayle’s heart description makes the point of calling it “biatrial” bc like, does that just mean it has two atriums? Because ours have two atriums. That’s normal, right? Why even point that he has an average normal heart? But seeing it here contrasted with the ancient dragons’ rock hearts I think it clicked for me. He does have an average, normal, mortal heart, not the special rock hearts of the immortal ancient dragons.
Appreciate the love for DS2. I also played it this year for the first time, the Scholar edition. Right now I’m replaying it but the original version. Awesome game.
I agree about the whole verdigris spear thing. I also am not sold that this gargantuan drake wasn't special in some way and I like the theory that a veritable god would have had to come down to battle this one. Who was this drake that was even bigger than Greyoll?!
And what or who was big enough to LAUNCH that stake with enough force to pierce its hide? The meteor greatsword says something about an "old gods' arsenal"
11:04 ive never heard that elevator line before definitely stealing that , i love watching these videos here with this community, it almost feels like we are gathering round a campfire and vaati is telling us stories 😅
Also I noticed a coincidence in wording that could tie part of mesmer back to dark souls 1. Mesmer is inhabited by the abyssal serpent right? Okay so when you speak to gough in the ds1 dlc after beating Artorias. Gough mentions that Artorias fell victim to an "Abyssal Serpent" succumbing to the abyss. Little coinkydink i found lol
Bayle is probably my favorite boss in any game I’ve faced, ever, purely for his lore. The world of Elden Ring as a whole feels like it’s in ruins, not as in ruined buildings and architecture, it feels like the ruins of life itself. I guess there’s a commentary there, that the ruin of like is eternal life? Anyway, in a world that feels so tired and lifeless, Bayle is ALIVE. Brimming with fury and defiance, even as he dies he winds up for one final strike. And as he fights you, he gains the second set of wings he always should have had. Despite everything, being born defective, hated, and assaulted and wounded repeatedly, he stands strong and defiant, and I’d argue he’s the greatest of the dragons. Placidusax (or however you spell that) was strong, sure, but his strength comes at least in part from faith (placidusax’s ruin) whereas Bayle was equal to him with his strength alone (arcane). Or, at least close to equal anyway. What an absolute badass. And to top it all off, those who partake in dragon communion are eventually consumed by the dragon hearts within them, which mean that in a way, Bayle will one day rise again
And only succeeding in repeating exactly what Vaati already said and then proceeding to refuse to let his ads play despite leeching off his content. Bad look tbh
@@opossumoutlaw7534 Sometimes I get tired of the endless misery p*rn of souls games. They had set Miq up in the base game to potentially be a truly good, kind person in a terrible world that we could side with like Ranni. Then they kind of threw that away to make him into Griffith. It was utterly predictable and I was left feeling hollow by it.
@@HalovexThe base game was very blatant with setting him up as being manipulative but for some reason people just ignored it and tried finding every excuse to explain thing differently. The bewitching branch talking about him compelling affection, the Haligtree soldiers literally suicide bombing themselves with Miquella’s golden light, Malenia talking confidently as if she knows he’s fine and will return or her armor which calls him the most fearsome empyrean of all.
@@Halovex I understand what you mean. But I think we should wait for UA-camrs to release more lore videos to truly judge. Also, in the trailer you can clearly see at the end a scene with Miquella that did not appear in the dlc. It's clear they ran out of time and didn't put in everything they wanted, which I suspect is the reason Miquella's role felt so bland.
Glad you're watching these again! I highly recommend reacting to the Midra one - it's another fascinating recontextualisation of the lore

WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING
lol i bet it tastes so good
Even more impressive is that Igon is that VA's first gig! Six hours of recording for the absolute masterpiece of a voice over that is Igon's monologue
I like to see that it's not just me that talks/respnds to what Vaati is saying in the video lol I agree, I thought there should be more about the verdigris and the outer god in there. Maybe in another video?
i think it will be re-visited for sure!

Awesome game.
you need need need NEED to watch vaati's prepare to cry on Millicent its some of his best work to date imo
his Elden Ring PTC series is honestly next level youtube content, especially his most recent three. It goes beyond just a good “Loretuber video.”
Yes, I love seeing you bring these reactions back! Can't wait to see the rest!
"Write that down, Steve!"
- Miyazaki probably
😂

Maybe that was Bayles mate which is why bayles communion altar rests there. More salt to the wound

I couldn't help but sing in the tube of Secret Agent Man when seeing the name Ancient Dragon Man. 😂
Ah!! I’m so happy you did this!!
Igon’s monologue lives in my brain rent free every single day

You should react to the lore of the dragons video, its a big video but worth it
Emma is like a student trying to beat the teacher to the punch, raising her hand diligently to answer everything haha
And only succeeding in repeating exactly what Vaati already said and then proceeding to refuse to let his ads play despite leeching off his content. Bad look tbh
They probably outsourced the naming of Ancient Dragon Man to Kojima.
One hour of this beats " house of the dragon" , hands down
you need to do the one on Ranniiiiii, beautiful art
Your hair! ❤
Will you ever do a age of stars reaction? Or have you? Sorry if I missed it.
You look stunning omg
New Lore video came out, hope you react to it soon!!
…but emmalition is blonde? These edibles do be hittin
she pronounced baldachin as "Bald Chin"
I'm still not sure if I want to jump back into Elden Ring lore after how they handled Miquella. Damn, that was a disappointment.
I completely disagree. What was there was great, I just wanted even more. This desrved to be elden ring 2
