Netflix’s Dahmer Series Gets Backlash from Victims’ Families

- Netflix’s Jeffrey Dahmer series is a “Monster” hit; so far, the dramatized story of the infamous serial killer has been watched in over 50 million homes. It’s one of the most-watched shows ever on the streaming service. But the nation’s renewed fascination with Dahmer is not sitting well with the families of his 17 victims. Rita Isbell’s brother was one of those victims. Her emotional outburst at the trial was faithfully recreated in the series, and she is not happy about it.
They arent just " Dahmers victims" they were human being with lives and people who loved them. They had dreams and their lives were stolen from them.
To late now lol
Well what made this case horrible was how Dahmer disposed the body to nothing more then slime in the barrels, the families didn't have at least the body of their love ones save for some skulls and some bone fragment.
in the end of the last episode they show all theyre pictures and names tho lol
@@ttgkvngg lol???

The series really addresses the victims' families experiences and how they were treated. And how racism and homophobia in the police force prevented Dahmer from being arrested sooner.

What separated Dahmer apart from other serial killers is that he didn’t like killing people. He only wanted to have control. Not excusing him, of course.
A documentary is one thing but recreating it as a whole Netflix show is something else. I agree that the victims families should have been informed about the show and the release. This wasn’t right of Netflix to just release it without them knowing.

I respect how the victims feel. At the same time it shed light on so many problems we have with our justice system and policing. I feel like this had to have some impact on improvement in that regard. As well as better awareness for our society to pay attention and report things.
There’s been many documentaries about his case let it rest now. In recent years we’ve seen movements go against the the justice system and point out its flaws
You mean the same justice system that continues to let white men commit every form of atrocity without being held accountable? Mass shooters(burger king/movie deals), serial killers and molesters get slaps on the wrists.
Yeah we have documentaries for that. We didn't need a dramatization in the way we got in thw series. Sure it highlighted the shortfalls than led to Dahmer but it damn sure continued his legacy.
