Dear Mr. Stewart, I have long been a fan of yours both on camera and behind the scenes. There are approximately 50,000 service members who were medically retired for their actions during their time in combat zones, and then service members are forced to choose between their earned DOD retirement or their VA Disability rating. I am a combat medically retired Marine who watched you fight for many of my fellow service members for the PACT Act, and now humbly ask for your fighting strength again. There is legislation called The Major Richard Star Act that continues to gain traction in both chambers of Congress and both sides of the aisle. However, even though the bill has over 300 co-sponsors in the House and over 70 in the Senate, it is stalled out while tens of thousands of service members continue to suffer daily. I believe that someone in your position can bring light to the situation and call for action on our behalf, much like you have in the past. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do. My parents both recently passed away. I watched their cognitive decline and did so with my grandparents earlier. It is not a linear thing. It happens as it happens. My dad used to say, "I can still think, your mom is still mobile. Together we make 1 solid person." You have to understand where they are and deal with it. President is a hard job. I don't really want an 80+ year old man to have to do that job. It is not fair to him or us. The other half of the problem is that the elderly find these changes humiliating and often refuse to accept them. It is not their fault, but we have to be adults.
He's not doing the job now. Jill is, sometimes Hunter is and then it's the staff. It's a big con. If he gets elected he will be President in name only. Look at Jill sitting at his desk reading his briefings on Air Force 1 and tweeting it before G7. They have no shame.

He introduced it by saying "and I quote," read the quote, and then said "end of quote." Then he said "let me repeat the line" and repeated part of the quote for emphasis. He talks fast and slurs words, so it's hard to hear the "let me" but it's clear from the inflection in his voice. Watching the full clip confirms this. Claiming he accidentally read teleprompter instructions is a lie.

Age doesn't affect everyone equally or at the same time of life. You can become cognitively impaired at any age. The 25th Amendment provides a (flawed) mechanism to deal with impairment. In fact it's been invoked when Biden and predecessors have gone under anesthesia for a colonoscopy.

This election is the most disheartening thing I’ve ever witnessed as an American. 20+ years as a military officer, and I have lost all faith in my own country. We the people MUST WAKE UP, and demand action.
Demand that those who supported Biden in the primary be overridden. Anytime you don't like the outcome of an election, you take your ball and go home? This election is very simple, with three choices. 1) of you want authoritarianism, vote Trump. 2) if you want freedom to continue, vote Biden. 3) of you don't gaf one way or the other, either don't vote, or vote third party. It's that simple. And close to a third of US adults will vote for authoritarianism. A third, or slightly more, will vote for freedom. And slightly over a third will go with option 3. If you served the country, and the future of freedom, already, then my hats off to you. You've done more than your part. But for anyone who hasn't, they don't have to go into the military to defend freedom. All they're asked to do is to go down and vote. How hard is it to vote for freedom, and against authoritarianism. There are approximately 50,000 service members who were medically retired for their actions during their time in combat zones, and then service members are forced to choose between their earned DOD retirement or their VA Disability rating. I am a combat medically retired Marine who watched you fight for many of my fellow service members for the PACT Act, and now humbly ask for your fighting strength again.
There is legislation called The Major Richard Star Act that continues to gain traction in both chambers of Congress and both sides of the aisle. However, even though the bill has over 300 co-sponsors in the House and over 70 in the Senate, it is stalled out while tens of thousands of service members continue to suffer daily. I believe that someone in your position can bring light to the situation and call for action on our behalf, much like you have in the past.
Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do. Your work keeps me grounded in a world that is constantly up in the air.

My parents both recently passed away. I watched their cognitive decline and did so with my grandparents earlier. It is not a linear thing. It happens as it happens. My dad used to say, "I can still think, your mom is still mobile. Together we make 1 solid person." You have to understand where they are and deal with it. President is a hard job. I don't really want an 80+ year old man to have to do that job. It is not fair to him or us. The other half of the problem is that the elderly find these changes humiliating and often refuse to accept them. It is not their fault, but we have to be adults.
He's not doing the job now. Jill is, sometimes Hunter is and then it's the staff. It's a big con. If he gets elected he will be President in name only. Look at Jill sitting at his desk reading his briefings on Air Force 1 and tweeting it before G7. They have no shame.

He talks fast and slurs words, so it's hard to hear the "let me" but it's clear from the inflection in his voice. Watching the full clip confirms this. I am from Sweden, the second hand embarrassment was so strong when looking at you showing the debate that I had to pause several times. Both candidates are unable to keep facts strait or make an argument without losing the thread. One is ignorant and lies like a five-year-old, the other forgets what he knows. Both have by a margin passed the age when political leaders in other democratic countries retired. They realy make the leaders of our political parties look like Mensa material.

I am SO glad Jon Stewart is back! Hearing him state what we're all thinking is like drinking a tall glass of cool, refreshing, health-sustaining water. Calling this segment "cathartic" would be a major understatement.
I'm not. Used to be a huge fan. Rally to Restore Sanity was a big inspiration when I was first becoming politically aware. Jon knows that a replacement candidate wouldn't appear on every ballot and is pushing for a replacement anyway. I'm very surprised and disappointed to see him participating in this dangerous circus.

Age doesn't affect everyone equally or at the same time of life. You can become cognitively impaired at any age. The 25th Amendment provides a (flawed) mechanism to deal with impairment. In fact it's been invoked when Biden and predecessors have gone under anesthesia for a colonoscopy.

This election is the most disheartening thing I’ve ever witnessed as an American. 20+ years as a military officer, and I have lost all faith in my own country. We the people MUST WAKE UP, and demand action.

Demand that those who supported Biden in the primary be overridden. Anytime you don't like the outcome of an election, you take your ball and go home? This election is very simple, with three choices.
1) of you want authoritarianism, vote Trump. 2) if you want freedom to continue, vote Biden. 3) of you don't gaf one way or the other, either don't vote, or vote third party.
It's that simple. And close to a third of US adults will vote for authoritarianism. A third, or slightly more, will vote for freedom. And slightly over a third will go with option 3.
If you served the country, and the future of freedom, already, then my hats off to you. You've done more than your part. But for anyone who hasn't, they don't have to go into the military to defend freedom. All they're asked to do is to go down and vote. How hard is it to vote for freedom, and against authoritarianism.

as a canadian I always find it insane how long usa campaigns. 4 months... 4 months is so much time. (edit: I know its longer than 4 months.. im saying even 4 months is too long. Should be like 90 days tops, 78 days was canada longest election in history)
They've been starting a year early in the last decade or so. I'm sick of our elections and the two party system as a whole to be honest.

Again, in FOUR YEARS we will have the most decisive election of our lives in which the Democrats WILL have to step another person to the plate. If age is not preferable, we have an amazing secretary of transportation. Learning so much about the executive branch and leaving a lasting impact on America for the better. I hope to see Pete Buttigeg continue the next 4 years of progress and be even more prepared for a 2028 run.
