Yoo thanks for the shout out Alex! Your course 100% (and 20% hehe) took my production game to the next level. I've been a musician for a good part of my life but when I decided to start producing EDM I was really lacking in my mixing and basic production skills. Your course totally changed my mindset on how I approach tracks and took my mixing game to a whole new level. And to top it all off, I now have an amazing community of producers (including Alex) who give me great feedback on all my tracks and keep pushing me to be better. Definitely check it out if you haven't!
What's the price
That was just great bro
wheres your song???
@@rikit7852 that’s what I’m sayin
Solid track bro I am going to have a listen.
so funny how hyped this dude gets over simple stuff like this LOL, just shows how much he loves what he does
I love it lol
i find it very cute
That type of passion is admirable. It genuinely makes him happy
@@smoothmontgomery makes me happy as well
I rarely see an American human talk "normal". It's all "amazing", "great", "perfect". Until you watch closely how fucked up the States have become.
I like Alex for how much of a nerd he is for music. I resonate and I feel like this is just how he is in real life. A real bro.
You could really use a LFO/filter on those arps, otherwise they’re just a bit dull.
He's just trying to show some basic arps though. This video isn't about filters.
@@flickeringscreens plucky sound design…if you have the logic arp plugin in use, you might as well.
@@1dkappe True
These are brilliant. Arps for atmosphere can be so beautiful
I get super discouraged by myself so it's refreshing to have your energy to turn to when I get frustrated
100% agree. I get into creative funks all the time and it's great to have people like Alex help you get back into it
fr
I rarely use arps with my music but I've picked up some inspiration from your videos to try out some with the perfect 5ths.
That students track sounds like a banger 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks homie :)
@@charliemorris3118 why is not available on Soundcloud? :( i tried looking it up for inspiration
C’est excellent ce que tu fais, on voit que tu prends ton pied !
I love your passion & how you passively push everyone to be inspired. Just love it!
Dude your energy and passion for making music is just AMAZING! Don’t change
hey mate great video as usual ! thank you for your energy and great inspirations. It's nice to see people out there feelin' and vibin' at the music the same way I do ^^ the chords make me think of summertime sadness by lana del rey even though the rythm is obviously different :D
Love an ARP, also love that feeling when you play a few bars back and YOU KNOW you're onto a decent track, cannot beat that feeling
You are severely underrated, keep going and you will be up there!
2:45 That's precisely me watching your videos
My favourite arp in a song is actually Porter Robinson’s . The arp is the lead and, apart from adding an extra layer to the song, actually ties the harmonies between the bass and the pad. It’s a real goosebump moment for me.
what song are you referring to?
@@SkegAudio Intro.
Enthousiasm! Next Level hahahahahahaha OMG! c'mon man!
A Tension Builder or Attention Builder?
I love me some arps. I use them in all my music and I've been making music for like 10 years. I tend to go with arps in the pentatonic scale just to glue my tracks together. It's become a habit to just "slap an arp on it". Much like I slap a supersaw on everything.
my new favourite video on youtube. who would have thought that simple arps are so powerful 😲 mind = blown!
Whoa whoa whoa. I thought arp was short for Arpeggiator 😳 no?
Your enthusiasm is addicting. Lots of videos are informative, but yours actually get me excited to try out the techniques you're demonstrating. Awesome stuff. Thank you!
Your every tutorial is so informative..
It helps me so much...
Alex is legendary..
which vst was for the end? please i liked the sound
Where the vocals?
5:55 Xxxtentacion SAD ? :D
The first arpeggio is providing tension because it is functioning as something called a pedal point by holding the I chord as the rest of the harmony continues as normal.
I love the part how in the example at the start the lead synth and the vocal are competing and drowning each other out and pushing each other forward and back, and I’m just not sure what part I should be listening to. 😀 it’s good keeps it interesting. Keeps me guessing. 😃
Bro find some peace😭
@@michaelcampion8635 bro find some friends lmao
I love how hyped up Alex gets over whatever he’s teaching
Hey! Thanks for your lessons! Some days I want to buy yours boot camp, bro! I really appreciate yours lessons. They are playing important part in my musician life 💜
Very very cool, thanks guy
It’s not arpeggio you do.. you seems you don’t get a all. It’s a just pattern. Arpeggio comes from harp sound.
Alex love your vids, but u got me confused there with "the tonic of the key of your song".... is that the root note you're referring to?
Not to pick, but the second example is technically not an ARP as it only consists of two notes.
there are some small mistakes regarding music theory in the video (A#min isn't a "real" key. Bbmin is), but it's more of a beginners tutorial anyway. Still, would be great to have the music theory and terminology correct in a tutorial video.
Hey, just wondering if you've had any success with your work? Either independent or producing for someone else
Just wanted to let you know that the sound of some of your last videos have a very unpleasant high(ish) pitch distortion, clipping or something going on sometimes, for example around 6:58-7:08 in this one.
that is called bitcrusher. It is a filter that degrades the sound which adds that dirt to it. It helps to add uniqueness to my sounds and avoid a song that is too clean for my liking.
@@AlexRome I guess we're talking about the same distortion of the pads - forgive me if I using the wrong terminology O:) - and not to the explosion effect from 7:10? In any case, the high-pitch kind of "metallic" sound I was referring to doesn't seem to agree with my AV receiver, it highlights it too much, it overpowers the instrument itself. I thought it might be the spatial processing that sometimes can do funny things, but it's almost the same in plain stereo. It's much more subtle with the computer's speakers though.
I know this is an old video, but generally speaking, your voice is louder than the music in all of your videos
I don’t even make edm but I’m boutta make a hip hop beat with that second typa arp. Thanks for being goated
Thank you Alex. Ciao
Thanks for the video! Any chance to have the sound design tutorial for the synths as well? Especially at they at 9:42 they sound sick :)
It's just a unison saw with distortion and a little bit crush
@@hbups1123 thanks. Serum I suppose. I would suspect several layers though.
Somebody knows where I can get Alex Rome's music productions ?
I fucking love your enthusiasm bro. 🙌🏼🤙🏼
nice tutorial bro, much love, just check the thumbnail cause i think its confusing af.
Great vid. Very understandable for the novice and yet very effective. Rome's vids have been very helpful. Thanks Rome.
Never stop just keep it up bro 😉👌💖🎶🎵🎧
te amo amigo, te amo
Why are you always using key signature with many sharps or flats? Why A sharp minor and not A or B, simply? I'm just trying to understand music.
It creates the genre mood.. major key only sounds amateur
Hi, I registered for the free guitar loops but got nothing...just an ad.
I love arp pattern! deadmau5 has the most awesome arp pattern out there imo, and also eric prydz. Let me know if you know any artist that has great arp pattern, would love to hear it
loooooooove your attitude! You're fun to watch while you educate! Thank you Alex.
Wait... First A sharp minor...
😂😂😂 I got stuck there too 😂
Where do you get ATMO 1 and the sound at the back at 4:22
Lee Jessica Davis Amy Walker Paul
Sir, please do different kinds of build ups video 😇
คั้กอิหลีคุบา,😂😊😅🎉 ขอบใจสำหรับการแนะนำเด้อ ..,หมอออ.. THK.
What’s the genre of this music? I really love it
Tbh my fav arp is an inverted down pattern 7th chord with the 7th below the root note in a 16th note
I Iove your song slow down, where can i download a full version of it
you really love that "born slippy" preset on chords lol.
seeing all the 13 year olds calling him a poser is so funny
So god, tour my favorite right now !!!
Boy I love your melody videos..
I wanna sign up for your course so bad the only reason I haven't is because I feel like I should learn more before I do. How beginner friendly is your course ?
mega beginner friendly. We can also do a quick video call and make sure we get you set up to move forward in the easiest most effective way possible.
@@AlexRome that sounds awesome. I’ll sign up shortly then Fosho
@@raidencoombs cool stuff! see ya soon.
Well i am not an edm producer but i still enjoy that
Are any of those arpeggios good for making horror?
I often watched your video and learn a lot from it but forget to subscribe coz it's very impressive . Now I already subscribed and share to my friend.
Me making wierd patterns that no one ever uses😂
Man sees Arp, Man Happy, Man Listen, Man Likes.
Can i know ARP ME where can download?
Do u know how ZHU did the bass in his song “ lost it”?
A# minor!
Turning the tuning up to 11 here
does anyone know where all these presets are from
Your 2nd favor sounds like a metronome
I think that's a progressive house 😂
I wish you made liquid drum and bass
For clarity and detailed explanations I always refer to your your videos.
Another good video!
Hi @Alex Rome Could you tell us what gear do you have behind you at 00:11.
arturia microfreak (synth), octatrack (sampler and arranger), digitakt drum computer, korg minilogue
arps are amazing for minimal beats
Love to see all the love makes my heart warm.
Awesome videos/tutorials. You asked if we recognized the chords during the third pattern, and to let you know. It's Avicii, I believe, right?
FEEELING ITTTTTTT well done ALEX
Isn't it HAUNTING!?
in that 3rd arp, could i hear Bill Duke saying 'come here' to Carl Weathers being played back by the hunter's helmet in 'Predator'?
Dude, Alex Its so entertaining watching how passionate and positive you are. I'd love to have you dissect some of my songs.
