You have reached the 4th stage of EV ownership where you know it well enough to play with its range just by decreasing or increasing the speed and tease others with perceived range anxiety. While EV owners know this stuff, people who don't own yet, will actually consider this as real range anxiety...and the comments are proving that. This is to people who are having some panic, it was a deliberate test of capability. He didn't charge it completely to start with, he drove it at much higher speed, he didn't charge at the fast DC charger, even after reaching home he drove to his new setup without charging...and yet you think driving an EV is not possible without anxiety? He did it just to disprove that myth and was teasing his wife for the fun of it.

Don't sugarcoat a badly made EV. EVs in India have a long way to go before being an everyday car. The build quality of these Tata EVs from the inside is absolutely rubbish with plastics everywhere and a tiny infotainment display. Not to mention the batteries that Tata use is of lower quality and the software integration is below average. They have a long way to go before changing people's perception.

@@AeyGee True. But in a price sensitive market like India, where people tend to be cautious about spending more, things are difficult for companies.
Somewhere we as consumers too need to accept that given the circumstances and Indian market in general, there will be cost cutting done at some places to leave margins for the dealers, and the company itself.
Keep in mind that we are country with a GDP per capita of just over $2500,which ranks us way below the $45000 of the EU and the US, where you can expect good quality in the cars for the price, since companies have less to worry about cost cutting.

Finally someone is using re-gen logically. Many videos blindly says that higher re-gen mean more battery charging but they don't understand that one cannot re-gen any more than used. It is only helpful when it is replaced with breaking.
Also, easiest way to understand how cruise control helps is to see the graph. When it goes above the average line, it is bad and that is where cruise control helps.

Hi Ranjit, My Nexon EV Max gives me
    1) average 350+ Km range. I don't compromise at all on speed more than 80, heavy traffic, heavy load in the car, ventilated seats on and AC on.
    2) At times it gives me range of 380 Km and even more than 380 Km if there is no traffic, less load in the car, AC is either off or intermittently on, ventilated seats either off or intermittently on and constant speed upto 80.
    3) It gave me even 400+, 450+ where there were descending slope and all conditions mentioned in point number 2.
I always use City mode, which gives actually more range than ECO mode.
I always keep Regeneration Level to highest, i.e. 3.
I always gradually increase the speed and try to maintain the speed with smart use of regeneration.

Pathetic, worst, dirty service. Service people don't know anything about the car's engineering and they behave with very casual attitude. They behave like they have done some favour on us by selling the car to us. They don't fix any issues and moreover handle the car in most scary way...mine got many scratches, dents, grease in interior after servicing every time.
If you just want to go for marvelous tech & engineering then go for it.

Great video Sir, your observation are correct. Nexon ev being a mid size suv , increases drag quite a lot at high speed . Consider range of ,280 km with ac at 80 kmph and decrease range in % with % increase in range. So if 80+20%=96kmph, and at 96 kmph range would be 280-20%=224 km. Similarly at 72 kmph range would be 280+10%. These are rough calculation i learnt from Nexon ev prime.

137 wh/km for speed less than 100 kmph speed is quite high.
Tata needs to improve the efficiency of the car. Maybe the higher ground clearance is a factor in the aerodynamics. Along with the lack of EV specific tires (5-10%)
For reference, ZS EV has 140wh/km on a similar run , kona EV 120wh/km ( I'm not assuming conservative driving)

BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PLUGIN HYBRIDS. They will still force you to top up your battery with petrol despite having so much chargers, daily driving can be convered with battery alone or 80-90% of the daily drive can be covered with battery alone, I would be so angry if I don't get to take advantage of increasing charging infra and still have to fill petrol to have "increased mileage" 😂

Sir it is rumoured that after completing 1,20,000 km the replaced battery and motar together costs around 7 laks
if it is true is it wise spending 18lak on ev and extra 7 lak on battery replacement

    • @shresthsonkar9207
      @shresthsonkar9207 Рік тому +2

      Definitely not
The news you see is for 2-3 out of 50k Tata EVs sold. Somewhere there is bound to be a lemon battery/motor. Just like there are defective dsgs, airbags etc which lead to recalls
Tata has been prudent in replacements under warranty and it is indeed confidence inspiring.
There are a lot of owners who have done 50k+ km and even 100k km who have not needed and battery replacement

You just need to have a minimum threshold
The most you can pull is 200Wh/km and that’s about 200km on max or 150km on prime
If you’re 100% you can absolutely attempt such a trip with this worst case buffer. If not, just multiply the worst case with current SoC which was 69 here.
Worst case, he would’ve still made it 140km and for that he could’ve driven at 120-130

Youre using nexon max still range your collecting is poor, you need to control on wh/kg try to control under 120wh/kg or below your range will improve. On hightway keep on regen level 2 and cruise for 80kmph then check the wh/km
Your having very good car but still you dont know how to play with it..
