I know its about ones comfort. But you should definitely try moving your seat a little more back. It will definitely help you to use the pedals more easily. At this position you probably have to raise your ankle even more compared to what you actually have to. Also your body is awkwardly too close to the handle. Move your seat half a feet backwards and you will definitely enjoy driving at that position.
Driven mine almost 65k kilometres in 2 years, great car but a LOT of problems. My car has already had a full battery swap (done under warranty) due to significant drop in range which for me wasn't that great in the first place (180kms on the non max version ofc). My main question is how sustainable is this for the environment as I know another person who has also had a battery swap in just over a year of ownership. I agree the drive is good etc etc but as a main primary car I don't recommend it at all, as a secondary yes maybe, but don't buy it with the expectation of saving money as that is not the case once you factor in the cost premium over ice cars because you will really have to cover a lot of kilometres to actually make some savings and then it must be remembered that an ice car over 100k kilometres will work just fine if maintained well whereas a batter pack will degrade no matter what, so by the time you have finished using the car, I doubt these electric cars will have a good resale value which if factored in might make the total cost of owning ice actually cheaper.
But you are over looking one major aspect, which is the driveability and instant torque which most vehicles in this price range lack. Many prefer that over resale value and stuff

Hey Ranjit. Now that you have a good amount of understanding of EVs through tata, maybe you can test drive other EVs like the kona , xuv400 , etc to get a better understanding of all EVs and to give more credibility as an EV user. For example, the kona has regen paddle controls which makes the regen experience completely different from the tata version since it can brake harder at higher speeds and hence remain more efficient while saving drive time. Also the button system on the kona I found easier than using the round dial on the Nexon. XUV400 has much faster charging curve which makes a difference on highways. Also it does have better space , despite lacking a lot of features that Hyundai or tata provide.
Charging costs are even lower in Nepal. I have TOD meter, and I charge mostly during off hours (11pm-6am), it costs me less than 4 Indian Rupees per unit that way !! And there's a 12V supply outlet for rear seats, so there's no issue for charging mobile there !
Once you start driving an EV with over 250km range, there is no going back to ICE, ever again.!!!! That smooth driving experience, with no gears and instant torque, putting fuel just at home (mostly), is waaaay luxurious and convenient....
How do you charge it in parking since you live in a building? Like if such a car is purchased and we live in a CHS, there is no plug point in the parking space how does one go about charging it?
That’s the one issue I also have, if there was charging point in my society or better if I could install 7.7Kw charger I would buy EV. I think it is not for people living in societies yet, coz I see no ev in my society parking.
All you need is 15A socket for 3kW charger. The kit comes for free with car and the company guys do complimentary wiring of 10m If your meter is further than 10m, then you need to pay extra for wiring, usually meter room is on ground floor itself in most of flats At worst you have to deal with 50yo unkils who object to every little thing like female residents wearing western clothes etc At best you setup will be complete by paying little extra from your side for more wiring.
Could you please tell me more about the range? Please mention details regarding your driving style and AC usage. On the video I noticed that your dashboard showed an average wattage at 120 to 130 wh/km. This should definitely translate to a good range. I am able to get only around 200 to 230 kms on a single charge on my car (same variant). My average wattage is around 180 to 190 wh/km. Even with very economical driving, I am not able to achieve your numbers. When I enquired with Tata motors, they told me that the range will improve after 1 year or 10,000 kms. Were you able to notice any such change?
Ranjit Sir if I'm not mistaken you have 330i M Sport right!! Well i do agree that for everyday commute NEXON EV will be far more suitable and Actually Fun to drive, but for joyrides i don't think Normal EV's are there yet. There is something about BMs that put a smile when you put that vehicle in a corner which EV's for now coz of their sheer weight can't imitate 😅 Appreciated your honest review and would actually love More Content from you in Automobile channel 🙂
@@sanalkumarvg2602 yes i have driven EV that too for an extended period. EVs are fun coz of their torqy motor and incredible straight line acceleration. And that's what MAJORITY of people consider FUN drive But these Germans especially the BMs knows how to put smile in Curves. You can have a Tail happy turn or a sharp turn in these machines. Whereas EVs tends to have a flat turning coz of LOW CG and heavy weight. So I would say if you consider just the Acceleration as FUN you can't beat any EV. Very good review infact. Mr Ranjith, have you faced any issues while charging? As some users have reported repeated error while charging. Is there any difference between charging with 3.2 kw vs 7.2 kw chargers with respect to longevity of the HV car battery? Also could you suggest which mode is better while driving in the City? Once you start driving an EV with over 250km range, there is no going back to ICE, ever again.!!!! That smooth driving experience, with no gears and instant torque, putting fuel just at home (mostly), is waaaay luxurious and convenient....
I bought Nexon Ev Max on my birthday 20 july, and tilll now I have driven 1500 Kms and it is the best experience.
Any idea how long will the battery last. How much does it cost to replace a new battery. What about resale value.
Charger for rear seat is there near the headrest on left side
How do you charge it in parking since you live in a building? Like if such a car is purchased and we live in a CHS, there is no plug point in the parking space how does one go about charging it?
That’s the one issue I also have, if there was charging point in my society or better if I could install 7.7Kw charger I would buy EV.
I think it is not for people living in societies yet, coz I see no ev in my society parking.
I think it's a silly question. You make your own arrangements.
In video you might have observed wiring is seperately done.
All you need is 15A socket for 3kW charger.
The kit comes for free with car and the company guys do complimentary wiring of 10m
If your meter is further than 10m, then you need to pay extra for wiring, usually meter room is on ground floor itself in most of flats
At worst you have to deal with 50yo unkils who object to every little thing like female residents wearing western clothes etc
At best you setup will be complete by paying little extra from your side for more wiring.
Superb videos as always Ranjit Sir.
12:07 exactly !! I also a nexon ev max and blindspot is scary. Ecosport also has a big blindspot. They should learn from maruti about blindspots
There is a convert software on the left side of the rear seat please check
Could you please tell me more about the range? Please mention details regarding your driving style and AC usage.
On the video I noticed that your dashboard showed an average wattage at 120 to 130 wh/km. This should definitely translate to a good range. I am able to get only around 200 to 230 kms on a single charge on my car (same variant). My average wattage is around 180 to 190 wh/km. Even with very economical driving, I am not able to achieve your numbers.
When I enquired with Tata motors, they told me that the range will improve after 1 year or 10,000 kms. Were you able to notice any such change?
There is a 12 v socket in the rear seat near the headrest, you can check.
Ranjit Sir if I'm not mistaken you have 330i M Sport right!!
Well i do agree that for everyday commute NEXON EV will be far more suitable and Actually Fun to drive, but for joyrides i don't think Normal EV's are there yet. There is something about BMs that put a smile when you put that vehicle in a corner which EV's for now coz of their sheer weight can't imitate 😅
Appreciated your honest review and would actually love More Content from you in Automobile channel 🙂
It happen when u comment about EV cars without driving it, may be you have driven EV two wheelers
@@sanalkumarvg2602 yes i have driven EV that too for an extended period. EVs are fun coz of their torqy motor and incredible straight line acceleration. And that's what MAJORITY of people consider FUN drive
But these Germans especially the BMs knows how to put smile in Curves. You can have a Tail happy turn or a sharp turn in these machines. Whereas EVs tends to have a flat turning coz of LOW CG and heavy weight.
So I would say if you consider just the Acceleration as FUN you can't beat any EV. But If you consider the OVERALL FUN well the EV have time to catchup...
What about the battery 🔋 if it degrades after the warranty is over then what would b ur action on it?? It's the any backup plan for that??
Great video and very informative!! Thank you :)
Sir, please make a long term video on your solar panel. It's costs as well.
It will be a good video and I think many people also want to shift to solar or green energy..
Kindly consider this comment and requesting you to please do the video.
Gentle suggestion:-
Improve audio quality while shooting in car,
For example mkbhd car video.
do they need some kind of oil change like engine oil ice vehicles like ev still have moving parts that should need a lubricant?
Superb review sir ❤
What smart watch is he wearing? Anyone?
Awesome analysis!!
What about the EV scooters? Should we go for it? Does it save us money if someone has an avg. monthly expense on petrol bike of around ₹2k.
Hi Ranjith,
I completed 60000 Kms in Nexon prime Lux model Jan 2021 with extended warranty. I planned to sell to upgrade for Max recently but people ask for peanut price. I paid 17lakhs and people are negotiating upto 5lakhs, 7lakhs etc 😂.
May be a video on resale fair price on ev would be helpful in future.
Asking price ?
3 years into it and 60k kms, ur car value has gone down shitter. In next 3 to 4 years the new owner will need a new battery and that will cost him upto 7 lakhs if not more
Why would anyone buy a vehicle from u at the price u expect when a more expensive item needs to be replaced in just next 3 years or so?
Its like me asking someone to pay 30 lakh for my fortuner i bought for 40 and expecting them to then drive it on a poor engine which will surely need replacement next
@@hiteshadhikarifortuner naam pe bikti hai
even if engine was bad people will buy it blindly, easily most overpriced car in India rn
Further, people giving 5L 7L obv exist for ICE as well, you'll find lowballers everywhere, whatever you try to sell, laptop, pc, car, house whatever
@@shresthsonkar9207try selling an ev 5 years down the line and come back to me
Until u find an idiot, no one will pay u anything near its price
Ev resale value for good reason is literally next to Nothing
In 60k , you have already saved 6 lakh rs. 8 lakh is fair value.
Being a hyderabadi..love your reviews even more
Ranjit Sir,
How much does it cost to service this EV?
Mr. Ranjeet - Most honest reviewer in India these days🎉
My biggest concern with EV is same as that with my smartphone: Battery Degradation and Battery Replacement cost. Can you please address those!
@@sanalkumarvg2602 thank you for the elaborate explanaton.
Sir please upload the full review of redmi 12 5g
I would like to hear your thoughts on battery replacement cost vs the money saved on petrol
I liked the fact that he charges his car via solar power .. this is the actual meaning of EV
M14 dynamic range and selfie are awesome ❤
You missed the service cost? Can you mention the normal service cost in tata service center?
How does it perform (acceleration, power delivery and handling) compared to your 330i? Please rate both the cars.
How much Solar power plant capacity you installed 🤔
Very informative. Thank you!
Insurance cost & Battery related warranties. Also, expected resale value after5-6 years.
What will be the tentative cost for replacement of battery Nexon max
can we carry portable desel generator, in case if we are traveling long and no charging facilities are available ?
@geekyranjit What about the interior and build quality, did you face any issue? Mine just two months old and been to service centre 6 times due to various rattling & creaking noises. Fit n finish also not upto the mark.
what happens when the batteries are out of warranty/worn-out? How much do you need to pay to replace the batteries?
Around 8 to 10 lakhs
Fantastic video! Thank you very much
Hello Sir, May I know the Service cost?
Was waiting for this review
There is mobile charging point for the back seat. It's on the back side of rear left passenger
Good Review Sir. Also post this on your another channel.
I want to know the details of solar power station you have installed like the capacity, is it standalone or grid connected, cost/kW, make, etc. if you can
Cornelius Would Be Proud.🙌🏻
The camera stability and angles are quite good, did you hire someone or is that your wife? If she was your camerawoman then I'm really impressed and want to appreciate her craft. Amazing 😂 the video is informative too
What about battery life and replacement and cost of replacement
Very Nice review Ranjit ji. Can u please tell whats the age of Cells on this car. Do we need to change whole battery or can the be replaced in small sections . Also please tell the cost of that. Would be very helpfull if replied as no one is answering this question. Bye
Is there is something like engine oil in it as it is also a cost associated with IC engines.
Though ECO mode shows more range, I feel torque is less to navigate through touch n go traffic.
Thank you.
