Hey Everyone! I hope you enjoyed! As you saw, these sprinklers fill a gap in the market for those who want the concept of a sprinkler system without spending the extra time and money. Perfect for Lawns 5,000 sq. ft or less.
hey Jake the lawn kid i just wanted to tell you that there is a twinkle star sprinkler prefessional that can probably fit in the quick snap sprinkler it is $9.99 instead of $99.99 on amazon.
Great video Jake. Installed them in my sons lawn last year. He had good water pressure so we used a water timer on the hose bib then attached a hose "T" on the timer an attach two hoses with quick connects. ( Using fabric type hoses , Zero G) He attaches the hoses at night to water his lawn very early the next day. Been working great! Thanks for bringing this sprinkler to others attention.
I’m liking these easy sprinkler systems. I got a different quick connect sprinkle that goes in ground but I may need to get this one and compare them 👍🏼. Thanks buddy!
Are you talking about the rain bird LG3 in-ground system? I’m debating about which ones to buy myself. Have you have a chance to compare? Do you like what you have?
Jeremy Weedman That’s the one! Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to compare. I can’t decide if I want have a plastic cap in the lawn. Edge of a flower bed might be ideal though
I have 5 zones underground in the front and side yards, but yesterday I cobbled up a portable sprinkler using a Hunter head and some 3/4” PVC fittings and a brass 3/4” FPT to 3/4” FHT adapter from Lowe’s. A couple of hose clamps hold it to a piece of angle iron. It worked great for my backyard!
I just found Jake and the LCN a few days ago to improve my lawn, and I've been using these for years and love them. Especially being blind, readjusting streams is made harder since I can't see them, and need to go stand in them to get a good idea. so set and forget works for me. What is also great is I am resizing my lawn this year, so I need to move the sprinklers. made much easier with quick-snaps. and I am even getting into different nozzle angles and flow rates. These things are great!!
I actually use these for a 20,000 sq ft. lawn, and it's fully automated. What you can do is connect a 4-zone timer ($50 at Home Depot) to your hose bibb outside. I have a hose bibb on each side of the house, so I got a total of 8 zones (but you can connect two timers to one hose bibb using a hose splitter). Each sprinkler requires 30 psi, so I adjusted my water pressure at home to over 60 psi to be able to use 2 sprinklers at a time for each zone. All you need to do is buy enough hoses to connect all the sprinklers, and you're done. You can even convert this to a DIY in-ground system by simply burying the hoses. Highly recommend this product.
Awesome sprinkler system. I guess i will have to get some. Can't wait to see more content on this product. Do some before the heat comes so i will be ready
How about encasing entire unit in a valve cover to protect and make easier access? I know there would be an issue w an unsightly, green circle in yard.... I just wonder about sinking this in hole and pushing soil around it
How is the plastic connection holding up? I am thinking about buying this or the Rainbird Quick Connect but I am concerned about the plastic connections baking in the sun.
I plan on getting the ones that cover 5000 sq ft and a side/end one. Then I plan on getting smart water timers and just have the hoses attached all spring/summer. End of season roll up and put away. This way I won’t have to disconnect and reconnect each hose.
It varies depending on your water pressure. If you're at 5 GPM like most common household faucets are, you can only do one. If you have a little more closer to 10:00, you can easily do two.
How long did it take for the utility service to survey the property? As an E.S.T in training, we are taught if you start digging without a clear ground survey you could be killed.
Quick question, how are you going to water your islands closes to the road? My lawn is set up the same way. Are you just going to water it by hand? Or did you set up the sprinklers to cover that small zone also?
Great video! I watched your videos using H20-6 Gear Drive sprinkler as well. I wanted to ask you because I'm new to this and want to set up sprinklers as well. How do you set them up for your curbside? I have 2 sections. 1 is longer and has a tree in the middle. The other section is much smaller. can't avoid from getting sidewalk soaking wet..? (my neighbors are very nosy and complain for small stuff lol)
hey Jake the lawn kid i just wanted to tell you that there is a twinkle star sprinkler prefessional that can probably fit in the quick snap sprinkler it is $9.99 instead of $99.99 on amazon.
Man you've grown up. And your format is excellent. You were missing some link overlays, but the general quality is very well done. No excessive quick cuts, natural human talking, just very good sir.
Hey Jake great video! I wanted t ask, if you have a video on how to get rid of goat heads and stickers in the back yard? Any help is greatly appreciated.
How much does the mower bounce over the heads if they line up with the wheels when mowing?. Do you just slide over a bit to keep from snapping them off or what?. Do you need to blow them out for winter?. Seems like a good solution for those not wanting to dig the entire yard up but have a few questions.
It would be great to see how you can run 3 heads at the same time with one main hose... Sort of mimicking an in ground systems zones... Also curious how well the orange cap is hidden in your turf once grass is fully established/growing...
Quick tip, when digging the holes put the soil in a wheel barrow or on a tarp... Great video Jake, I just installed 15,000’ of sod for a client and I’ll use these. Thanks for the idea...
Installed these last year. Have 10 of them and combined them with B-hyve timers to automate my whole lawn irrigation as I leave them hooked up to hoses full time. Question though - why didn’t you put the one head in the front all the way in the corner. That spot looks like it’ll struggle to get irrigated.
I did that because often times, My family accidentally drives on that area. The last thing I want is a broken head. I got something for that tho so we're good. Stay tuned!
Question . So you need to disconnect the Hose for each sprinkler and reconnect it to another one right ? I really like these . Is there a way to connect them all together from 1 hose ?
It's so that if you want to use it as an spicket operated sprinkler system all the heads are pretty much in place and all you have to do on the watering days is quick connect the hose to the sprinkler. No need to adjust as you would with full above ground sprinklers. That makes it the perfect hybrid between the two.
Thanks for the video. I have been eyeing this set up for about two years but have not seen an extensive review on them. Will wait to see how they turn out through the summer. Please post regular updates on them
Really interested in these but unfortunately they’re sold out everywhere, on both the companies official website and amazon. Any idea when they’ll be back in stock or any direct links? Thanks!
Does anyone have problems with these pooling so much water? Mine is filling up both the sprinkler head and hose “bowl” and forming a large puddle around the sprinkler
I'm confused why the reviews are so bad on amazon for this product. I love the idea of this product but i'm hesitant because of the reviews. Also I hope this isn't a stupid question but what is the difference in the end spray and side spray? Does one shoot further than the other? I have a area close to the street that is about 10' x 36' and was thinking that three side spray heads would be the right call. Thanks for anyone that can help.
This is great question. The reason all reviews are bad is because no one really gave them a chance. Here, I going to document my time with them and see how I like using them as a part of my DIY system. So far, so good.
I read those "reviews", but they are not actually reviews because they don't say anything. No one has commented on why they don't like the product, so I think it's inconclusive. With the way people down grade products based on shipping or seller issues, which have zero to do with the actual product or company that makes it, I wouldn't trust those crappy reviews; not even the couple of good ones.
I did this kind of setup with regular sprinkler. If I'm going to set this all up with above ground hose why would I want to spend money on these things.
I'm going to go with your method, vice digging. I'll mount the sprinkler heads on the sprinkler spikes and use quick connects. I'm also thinking about cutting my hoses, so that can just lay them close to the foundation around my house. I think I'll just leave everything out and not take up each time. Do you have any additional thoughts on this to improve? Thanks.
This was exactly my hang up. Been eyeing these and the rain bird system. If I’m going by amazon, the rain birds are the way to go, but a bit more of an eye sore. If I’m going by UA-cam, they’re both great and these would be less of an eyesore. Ahhhhh! I need somebody who’s owned both to tell me what to buy!
Have the same issue for a friend, tried to set something up above ground, sprinklers gone the next day. I don’t think installing PVC DIY is all that more expensive when you factor in the theft. If you are doing a simple one-zone system and are willing to trench it yourself, it’s the labor that drives up the cost, not the PVC parts. You can attach to a programmable water timer on your faucet and connect with a short piece of garden hose the the PVC system instead of messing with in-ground valves and controllers. Set the water timer/hose connect out of view from the street so it does not walk away. Or use a longer piece of hose and connect to a faucet/timer in the back or side yard out of view.

Very cool setup 🤩😎👍
Hey Jake, thanks for the video. Great detail. How many of the sprinklers do you have connected to each other at once?
It varies depending on your water pressure. If you're at 5 GPM like most common household faucets are, you can only do one. If you have a little more closer to 10:00, you can easily do two.
@JakeTheLawnKid Any updates on this system? I bought it and have yet to install it. Are you still using it? Any wintering breakage? Thanks!
Nope. No breakage whatsoever. Still working great.
@@JakeTheLawnKid Thank you!
Dang it! I wish I would’ve known about these before I bought a bunch of different portable sprinklers!

Hi JakeTLK I like your video. Please tell me; do I need a different tap and water feed for each sprayer? Or do they all connect?
Each are separate because of my water pressure.
@@JakeTheLawnKid Ah OK thanks! My water pressure is good and I have two outside taps! hopefully can sort it out...
Any recommendations for urine spots from a female dog ? It’s been a real struggle .

Yes, no issues there 👍💯
How long did it take for the utility service to survey the property? As an E.S.T in training, we are taught if you start digging without a clear ground survey you could be killed.
From past experience, All our utilities are 3 ft to the left on the inside of my property line so no harm there. 💯👍

Great idea. How do you winterize the unit?
Compressor
Just remove it and put it in your garage because it’s never going to get to 32 degrees inside the garage
@@ArtInTheWild24 that’s for under ground sprinkler tap or from a breaker
Jake can you put the list of the products you use here. Thank you!!!
Do you have to individually run a hose to each one and run one sprinkler head at a time?
It all depends on water pressure. If your spigot outputs 10 gallons a minute the yes. If 5 gallon a minute, then you can only use one head at a time.
Man you've grown up.
And your format is excellent. You were missing some link overlays, but the general quality is very well done. No excessive quick cuts, natural human talking, just very good sir.

The tires don't bounce top much. But, generally, I like to keep the head in between the wheels just to be safe. Last thing I need is a leaky head.
Cool and easy DIY setup. May need to check them out.
You'll love it.
It would be great to see how you can run 3 heads at the same time with one main hose... Sort of mimicking an in ground systems zones... Also curious how well the orange cap is hidden in your turf once grass is fully established/growing...

That's a pretty cool little system!
Would a riding mower damage the quick connect if ridden over? Also, not sure if ridden is correct.
Did it once. Didn't damage anything. But, wouldn't recommend it 😉
Great video Jake. Is there a process to getting any water left over out of the heads for the winter.
Yes there is! Just a bicycle pump. More on that later. Stay tuned!
