I feel so blessed to have been born with such a curious and explorative mind, especially when it comes to music. I'd just search and search, finding all sorts of genres and types of music that I'd come to love over my life, and Aphex Twin is one of the first artists who Really introduced me to Ambient music as a musical genre. Truly brilliant. It actually blows my mind that a lot of his music is over 35+ YEARS OLD, that is seriously mind boggling. They sound like they could have been made today, truly timeless. Beautiful works of art.
Years ago I listened to this song while I was hospitalised, the people talking in the background resonated with the activity happening on the hallway behind my door
I will never forget the first moment I listened to my SAW 85-92 cd. I had to wait for 5 months after my order, after e-mailing the website - it turned out they missed the order. I already knew so many tracks, except for the I couldn't find on Kazaa back then. Tha was one of one them. I put the CD up in my living room. After Xtal came this track. My sister came in and thought I was just being an annoying little brother again by turning up the song as a joke. I however was so amazed by it, and knew I found one of my favourite albums forever. My love for RDJ was sealed.
Sounds like a train tunnel with the percussion being the sound of the train going over the tracks or the sound of construction being done on pipes. Very atmospheric. It's palpable.
Never heard of this guy until recent, just been exploring his stuff, VERY diverse lineup from the intense breakcory style stuff. To the chill and reflective music.
...I'm trying very hard to relax which is not that easy compared to when I was young first hearing this although it could be that even then I was not able to relax and that could be how I found this track in the first place some things really make you wonder...
the vocal samples sound like they are in a train station, i think you can hear one of the voices say 'trains...', so maybe something he's recorded himself
timeless, unbelievable that some of these tracks are +30yrs old now...
Some of them are nearly 40 years old now 😳
it just really shows how well Richard’s music has aged..it’s like well you know…fine wine
Definitely
This comment is 6 years old so this track is now 36+ years old..
@@GetAnswerlywe're in 2024, still sounds as wonderfull as in 1992!

Aphex twin got me into the ambient scene too, if it wasn't for Aphex I'd never have found boards of Canada
So much emotion in these songs from Aphex Twin.

I wasn't even born back then. I wanna swear, this is good.
This has possibly the best audio quality, especially the audio resolution
How about the audio fidelity and clarity
Well and alive
It's been 32 years, Richard is timeless, that's cool!

absolute classic in the AFX discography
this is a great track luminary !
I've spent 38 years studying. My Conclusion is obvious. There simply is no greater modern-day composer than RDJ. Thesis submitted.
I've looked so hard trying to find other music with a vibe akin to Heliosphan, tha, but nothing gets quite close, only covers...

Belgium between 1990-1999 most have been pretty dope as techno fan/producer/artist
Only realizing now that there seems to be an orchestra or something in the background
Amazing

When this song is on I cant pay attention to anything else.
Airport Terminal Timelapse type-beat
kinda convinced that the sample is taken from a gym and that the beat is a basketball ball dribbling…
The players got insane control on his force
what's good
Anyone know where the samples are from?
I heard about that he had been making most synths, beats and effects by himself

@@davidw9736 he used to record his family's conversations and such. lots of boredom led to this music.
that would make sense, bits of the samples definitely sound conversational. Can't really make out what they are saying though
