    I own an awards and recognition business and we also sell gift items. Sublimation products were a big part of our business, but I soon found out that the cost of the sublimation ink was a big detriment to our bottom line. My sublimation printer developed issues with the transfer belt soon after the warranty expired. It would have cost several hundred dollars to replace that part, but the part isn't available. So I have stopped selling sub items until I could find something new. That's when I found your account and was amazed at the results of your Epson EcoTank feature of installing the sub ink into the printer.
    Epson printers are notorious for clogged jets if you do not use them on a regular basis. Even if it means printing a simple test pattern once a day or every other day, you'll maintain the flow of ink, and no clogged nozzles. The EcoTank makes this easier since you have a ton of ink, compared to a cartridge-based printer. The cost of Sawgrass inks are $54.00 per color for only 31 ml of ink. Huge difference when I can get 100ml of each color of ink for less than $20.00 - that's 400ml of ink!
    I want to say that I have used ProWorld to purchase multiple heat presses as well as sublimation products, and they are an excellent company. Their social media is outstanding and their customer service is just great. I highly recommend them. I hope you have good luck with your sub printer. I could print 13 x 19 as well, and I miss that feature, but those jobs were few and far between.

    I'm just getting started. I didn't even know that there was such a thing as sublimation, the more I look into it the more I want to do it!! I don't have a big budget so I've been shopping around and will have to start off with an Epsom eco tank!! Looking forward to getting into it!!😊Robbie

    Hello Mrs.thank you for sharing your expertise.for this kind of printing process is it adapted on t shirt 100% cotton ?

      Sublimation printing is only suitable for garments that include polyester. There are a few hacks you can try to get sublimation onto cotton shirts, but most require an extra layer (like vinyl). For best results I recommend using shirts with 50% or higher polyester. I have my favorite blanks linked here: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/sublimation/

    How are you printing straight on to cotton t-shirts as all the information I have found says you have to put your design on something like easy subli cut it out and then iron that to your cotton fabric?

      @pigskinsandpigtails  5 місяців тому

      With sublimation, the higher percentage polyester the better your results will be. I like to use a poly blend

    Hello where is the best place to buy the ink for the sawgrass printer? Also how long does the ink last within the printer before you have to buy more ? I’m just beginning and trying to decide if I should return mine since everyone complains about how expensive the ink is.

      Here’s where you can buy Sawgrass Ink: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/sawgrass-sublimation-ink
      I’m still using the first batch of ink on my printer and I’ve made a bunch of projects!

    Please can I print Sublimation on Navy Blue Shirt or light blues or Please what other color of Blanks can I use? i see a lot of use Only White, Please why?

      Sublimation does work on dark or colored fabrics, but your results will vary greatly. Sublimation is a dying process. Lighter color inks will dye on top dark colors, but you won't be able to see it very well, if at all.

    Roughly what is the cost per print (given your "ain't going down" design and minus the cost of the shirt)?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails

      I haven’t monitored it that closely, but I’ve made about 100 projects with my first batch of Sawgrass ink and I still have lots of ink to go

    Hi i want to ask..the t shirt for sublimation does it has to be polyester or cotton?

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  Рік тому

      Yes, it needs to be polyester. Sublimating on 100% polyester will create a permanent design that is going to hold up great wash after wash. Using lower polyester count fabrics will cause the design to fade some in the wash. This fading gives a nice vintage effect.

    Hi there thanks for the video im asking myself why is the sawgrass ink so expensive? can i do more prints with it? whats the difference? thanks

    • @pigskinsandpigtails
      @pigskinsandpigtails  Рік тому

      It’s a true sublimation printer so it’s built to last for a lot of sublimating. Sawgrass also offers great support including a free call to get your printer setup. Between the support and expected lifespan of this machine, I felt it was worth the investment.

      I didn’t use my Epson Ecotank often enough and it got clogged and I couldn’t clear the clogs- I don’t need to worry about that with my Sawgrass because the inks are designed to go with the printer.

      @@pigskinsandpigtails But I heard that sawgrass printer inks are gas inks, and if we stop working for two or three days, the colors will dry. Is this true?

    Same thing happened to me except I didn't print anything for about 9 months. There was nothing that would unblock those nozzles and head. It tried about 50 times over 3 days. I evenly threw my 4700 Eco tank in the trash. I now have a Sawgrass sg500. Even tho the ink is expensive that's OK..

    Sawgrass are NOT true sublimation printers they are converted Ricoh printers. If you want a TRUE sublimation printer get an Epson f170/570
