- Join us this week for a FULL on 48 hours of bogging, winching and maxtrax recoveries. Finding these FREE CAMPS along the Murray river can be hard but SOOO worth it!
Although we did want to have a week off 4WDing or getting bogged, the Murray river had different plans for us! 🤦♀️ this is probably the most scared we have ever been and were SO CLOSE to loosing our home on wheels 🫣

Hey guys, just a heads up, underwater sand bars along the Murray River can drop away suddenly leaving you with no footing and generally in strong currents, this catches many unsuspecting people out and can result in drownings, highly recommend children wear a life jacket, be alert not alarmed.

U guys just a heads up about Murray river there a lot of kids that have drowned in it because when they go under u carnt see them because of murky water life vests or jackets on kids is a must love ya work !

Hey guys, I used Hema for a long time - found it was just ok. Completed the CSR in 2019 and used ExplorOz Traveller & Hema side by side on the iPad. Travelled from Rocky, through the centre down to the Gun barrel Hwy, up the Canning Stock Route, across the top back to Qld. ExplorOz Traveller was 100% correct with all track details and points of interest. Hema, well let’s just say I haven’t used it since, constantly showed I was miles off the track - yet ExplorOz showed we were on it!!!

Yer be careful back when the Murray was in flood it would had been as high as ya caravan roof so the ground under neath would still be soft if a heavy vehicle travelling over it yer the weight would sink ya , God bless the winch , yep some afternoons the wind picks up and blows along the river like a wind tunnel , 👍👍🍻
Yes we unfortunately learnt the hard way with the Murray but we absolutely loved all the camping along the river 🙌 thanks for watching

You guys are a beautiful family. We free camped on the Murray around Echuca, wow, after a load of rain it was a chopped out flooded mess. The ute and us were a friggen mess.

@@elnick.adventures extremely mate, we have a 3 inch lift and that was a bit low, not nice between the toes 💩💩💩
There had been some heavy rain in the week that we arrived at Echuca and flooding this winter so everything was soaked. The paddle boat ride had to run aground to turn around due to a heavy current and strong winds going against each other and the only tourists on the boat were a load of us West Aussies 😁
Amazing video, and a insane tip with the water level stick.
Dang the boys are having lots of fun.

It takes a while for the Murray to dry after being flooded this year... Stay at a caravan Park for safety.or visit the area another time.

When it comes to been stuck in mud, i opt straight for a simple winch.
For a few reasons, if you cant get traction, you probably wont get traction to launch onto them. Winch saves your driveline, lockers and Cvs.
Winch is controlled, especially with a van that can pivot your rear and send you skew iff into the bush.
Well done on having a go driving Elenya, you cant teach experience just have to do it and learn.

You are dead right there, we live on the edge of a large inland lake system and the water level can rise and fall a couple of feet depending on the wind strength and direction.

Never trust Google maps in the bush. A lot of their “tracks” aren’t actually accessible.
They use satellite imagery to identify tracks… but that also picks up farm tracks etc.
We’ve had heaps of trouble with people looking for our Farmstay getting directed via our neighbours back paddock because it’s the “most direct route”.
Yeah super annoying! Now we have learnt we won’t be using it for those trickier places (:

Saw the “three bogs” preview and was all prepared to have a crack at Nick but it was all a bit too serious for that. I’ll have to praise Nick instead for reversing that big setup that far on a tricky river bank - don’t know that I could have done that.

I have a towball on the front bar of my f250 to use when I need to get my toy hauler reversed a long way, works a treat, love you stuff guys, I have been watching from the start, and you guys are really getting good at putting a video together, g ood stuff. I also have a Bruder X6 caravan, an awesome unit if you guys like to look at.
