I've owned a few different 600cc and 1000cc motorcycles in my time riding. In a previous video, I talked about the reasons why a 600cc motorcycle is better than a 1000cc (or at least which one you should get. We all know which one is faster!). But what about the other way around? In this video, let's look at why you should pass up that 600 and buy a liter bike.

The 5 reasons I heard: It is faster, it moves quicker, velocity is greater, it gets faster from point A to point B, It takes less time at the same distance.
The most reasonable reason is the torque which is available across all the rev range. Another reason is that if you travel two up, the torque is way better.

Next motonosity video : 5 reasons you should get an H2R, NOT a bmw s1krr
5 reason you should just give it all up and not ride at all
5 reasons you should start on a turbo busa instead of an H2R
@@ducke295 why not nitro busa, turboed one is outdated.
Responsibly Dangerous LMFAO!!! That video is coming
Ben S LMAO i bet we will see motonosity on a turbo busa
Damn, I only just upgraded from a bicycle to a 250.
Better be a CBR!!!! MC19, MC22, MC41 either way better be the Honda 🏍️😁
I feel you from a Honda Accord coupe to Schwinn bicycle to CBR1000RR
I started on a dirt bike. Best training tool out there. Progressed to a litre now
My progression was 400, 636 and 1000cc's I don't think it's a good idea to skip the middle tier 600 bikes. They are fast but not suicide fast and serve as a great learning tool before getting that liter bike.
a lot of us started on the mt07 during driving school in europe.
I don’t understand people that say a 600 doesn’t have suicide speed and speed can kill and I don’t understand people that say start out on a 1000 ur asking to die if u don’t know what ur doing
600 isn't suicide fast? You need to drop back down to 400 for awhile, you're not taking it serious enough.
@@Dredster747 They are docile down low in the RPM's.
Idk i am tired of the 600 vs 1000 debate... its all the same stuff.if.youran idiot you will die on any bike
When he said “It’s your own life be careful, your choice” that’s when I knew a 600 would be better.
Well let’s be completely honest here, anyone can go fast in a straight line... You really don’t need a 1000cc
90% of the rider population that buy a 1000cc supersport can't get half a decent time on the track with one
Not 600s though lol
Don’t need one but they ride sooo smooth.
@just a bi pedo asian swedish giant trap bike lover nope, plenty of riders on smaller bikes that ride quicker through the hinterlands.
@@AdrenalinePvP doesnt have fo be on the track 😉
My Zx6r is fast enough for me to have fun and gap the local boosted cars so I’m good
Rather have a 636 than most 1000’s to be honest
biiiig facts bruh 😂😂😂
you must have some slow boosted cars in your area lmfao, a racing group im in shits in 600s and 1000s struggle with some members
Drizzy570 there’s not very many cars around the area over 500 maybe pushing 600
90% of them are more looks than they are power
@@easetres8664 damn, thats lame, we have numerous 1000+hp cars and even trucks. my group alone has at least 2 of them, the one guy has a 1000hp supercharged huracan lmao. my buddy greg and his little group all have high 800hp -1000hp vettes, mustangs and and old datsun with a LS swap making over 800 to the wheels.
just need two reasons: SPEED AND POWER
(speed and power solves many things) - Jeremy Clarkson
But traffic & potholes does not solve anything
And get killed 😢😱
The lack of control of ruins it
To bad clarkson hates bikes 😂
2 reasons 400cc or less: Maneuverability and agile
Wind the tension out a little on your clutch lever. You will find neutral easier. My friend had a RSV4 and always complained about a tricky neutral. Literally just took some tension off the lever. Fixed it.
IDK man, I feel like the power on my ruckus is pretty insane as it is 🤣😂🤣🛵💨💨💨
Chillllll💀💀💀
he's too dangerous for the streets
To sum it up 400s are good to learn the basics
600s are good for extra power once you learn the basics
1000s will break every speed limit in the us in 1st gear in a matter of seconds
I’m gonna say it 1000cc is over rated, the difference is only noticeable on the highway. Also you don’t need to be going over 100mph on a daily basis.
Luckily we gsxr boys got the 750. Got my k7-600 and thats fast enough for me :)
Street triple 765 all day long
I want a GSXR600R or a 750 but it is so ugly, I hope Suzuki updates it. Suzuki and Honda need to update their 600cc Supersport
You don’t need a 1000 anyways, you will never be able to explore it’s actual potential and if you do, you will be doing 150mph risking your life/jailtime
@@mooiboyace you Rick jail and death on a grom. Or 400cc or 650cc.
@@mavricxx 2006-2010's 600/750 are the best models designs in my opinion. The newest ones are so......idk what they were thinking. But some people like it, doesn't fit my taste.
Dude, make up your mind what you're trying to say....You start your thought then you talking about sth. else.
Wth!
It's the adrenaline! 😂
100% agree with your rebuttal to the argument that you'll never be able to use 1000cc bikes power on the street. As someone who has to commute on highways frequently, it's a night and day difference between fighting with my Ninja 650 to cruise at 70 mph vs comfortably cruising along on my GSX-R1000.
I agree liter bikes generally have more features better quality parts better suspension more technology and for people scared of the power there are power modes so you can turn down the power and ride comfortably
this didnt really convince me to get a 1000 tbh
This just made me like my 600 more 😂
@@DEATHWINGS5000 i like motonosity but this video was just of him rambling.
more insurance is what I think of when I hear "get a 1000 bro". my k7 600 will run the exact same per month as a gsxr 750 and I love that.
I get triggered everytime when people say hayabusa or zx14 is a climp up from 1000cc superbike. They're not! They was 10 years ago but now they slower than any modern superbike. I own 2014 zx14 and 2017 r1 and my r1 is straight up faster and got snappier throttle and overall much more radical in everyway. Yes zx14 is still very fast bike and it's good all around bike but as far as only performance goes it's just obsolete, it got 200HP which all modern superbikes got 200+ and weight much lasser and higher and faster reving engines.
Buddy you cant compare a 1400cc with 1000cc!
But the bikes more snappier on the throtle is the yamaha and more fun to ride because of the throtle response is very fast and fun.
@@jhonykruzse zx14s are so comfy, pretty much an insane sports tourer
This is going to sound weird but I have a 300cc and a 1000cc in my garage and I feel those are the two bikes to have for all around uses.
And when do you get on the 300?
xpusostomos I use the 300 for quick local erans and around the town stuff also use it when I ride with friends that have low cc bikes too and thinking about using it for a track bike.
If you could only keep one?
Omero juniorv hmmmmmm...... probably the 1000cc just bc of the tech and I need the power for the highway bc I ride far to work.
@@jcastillo9596 I own 300cc, have been riding for about 2years, commuting to work daily, very short commute mostly in the city limits though... Only feel the need for more power when I get on the highway with friends. Looking to purchase my next bike this year and sell 300 because of a limited space in my garage. So I need one bike that does it all. CBR600 seem like a logical choice but I am afraid I will want upgrade to 1000 just because I will feel like I am missing something. Have you ridden 600cc? Would you suggest 600cc or 1000?
I want better sound and low end torque and don't really care about the speed and screaming high revs.
My 16 Daytona 675 has no issues with power even at interstate speed, never had to downshift. As far as weight, ofcourse yout R1 had no issues with being blown around on the interstste( that bike particularly was heavy as hell) most newer 1000cc bikes are hitting the weight of the 600 bikes so there's that. It all boils down to preference. And most will never outride the potential a 600cc bike.
@Adams UA-cam actually it comes from them being heavier than the other Japanese manufacturers, but I get what you're trying to say
3:54 Did not see anything my ZX6-R cannot do.
Most prefer the sound of an Aprilia V4 literbike, then the R1, then other inline 4s. The V-twins sound very good when engine braking at 20 mph. It is mostly about costs and reliability, and what you like the looks of and how sitting on it feels to you. I have a 600cc inline 4 and a 600cc V-twin. The V-twin is better from 0 to 60 mph, and the inline 4 is better above 60 mph and for longer trips.
I have never had a sport bike until now and I’m glad I went with a 1000 no matter what gear you are in she goes
I’ve rode four wheelers and dirt bikes all my life. I’m going to get an r6. I live out in the country and I’m 5”5 145 pounds the r6 fits me better. Plus there’s no highways to really open up a 1000. Also my friend past away on his 1000 recently so 600 is plenty for me. Awesome video big fan of the channel been watching a full year now. Every new video I get an itch to get a bike.
Also check the new 636. R6 has it's seat quite high for 5'5
pravesh736 oh dang. I’ll have to look into it. I’m a Yamaha person though
i own bikes from 125cc to 1200cc, and the smaller ones, 600cc or less are best for city and small comutes type of situation, for raging and longer trips the 600cc plus is a must.
Went from a older gsxr6 to a newer ninja 300 and I have more fun on the little bike. Running the gears Is part of it.
The fit is the best reason for me; I'm also tall and a lot of bikes feel really small. I wish they made 600s as big as the 1000s.
I think that if your country has the road infrastructure so you can enjoy your motorcycle up to the limit, you can buy either a 600 CC or 1000cc motorcycle. At least on my third world country Costa Rica a 300 cc is enough and I am very happy with my YZF-R3 2019. Thank you for the video and I love tthe new look of the S 1000 RR.
100% agreed, and lower cc bikes are still more fun lol
@@mooiboyace You're right and thank you for the reply. 👌🏻
i had a zx6r and a zx10r, 1000cc is like double the torque, but in curves a 600cc does more fun
Captions, cc, English please, some of your viewers need it because of hearing loss from riding 1000cc bikes with no mufflers come on man!

I have ridden a r3 since it's been produced. Sold it 2 weeks ago and bought a 07 Hayabusa. Never going back! A new member in the liter bike family 😁
@Police Corruption it is a liter bike, 1300cc is liter with a bit more
I don't have a problem finding neutral on that bike.
that rode in the beginning is my old apartment complex. small world! actuallt left austin bc my bike was stolen and other BS that was happening at the time.. its crazy seeing those streets
I have my r6 2010 with a akrapovic full with ecu flash with my ftecu kit and I love it.
But I want to get the bmw s1000rr next year and is my favorite bike from the 1000cc supersport.
In 1998 I had the first yamaha r1 with just 5 gears and that was a beast at time... But I had a crash with it because I jump from a suzuki bandit 400cc to the r1!
And is like he talk in the vid the 1000cc is another league... We have to be very careful and don't let the bike ride you but you ride the bike!
1000cc is too much for me, because the road in my country is terrible, bad traffic can't use the highway and people crossing the road like a deer, and 1000cc is also too expensive, in my country we have crazy tax like the original price is $10.000 + tax 125% = $22500
Lol this dude complaining about the road there. Come on up to PA and see how you like PENNDOTs handiwork!
This is such facts ☠️☠️
If you want to appreciate PA more, take a ride in Michigan.
@@commenter4799 Dude for real. Michigan roads are the most disgraceful roads I've ever been on.

Weirdly enough I catch more wind on my faired 1000 than my naked 650. Size does indeed fit me better though. Power... I mean sure it's a lot faster, but both were fast, they facilitate laziness though, overtaking in 6th and all that...
I started on a 1000 it was an 04 gsxr 1000 she was all stock for the most part and I put on 7000 miles that summer I finally upgraded to a 06 gsxr 1000 and i absolutely love this monster the torque
But just a good light titanium full which is expensive helps you way more in corners that power
On the S1000RR doesn't 1st gear take you to 100mph before you change to second? I know on my 600cc 1st will take me to 70mph
OmniKaizer 1000s usually take you to about 90-95 in first
OmniKaizer don’t try to do that first gear to 100 go and watch hammy moto crash video and be aware what at the results of doing that ride safe. m.ua-cam.com/video/5-K8k76HJd8/v-deo.html
@@kaos750moto2 I don't do that any more but, i use to always hit the limit of my gsxr. I was just stating that because i heard Motonosity changing gears and stop at 100mph I was wondering that with one gear you can hit 100. The video of hammy is blessed to be alive it was crazy how he slide thru the semi truck.
My 750 does 143km in first gear geared down... (1 tooth off in the front and a pcv and lots of little mods) have beet k5 1000s to 240... then I back off I don’t need more speed lol
My 2018 ZX10R hits 104 in 1st. Modern litre bikes are nuts.
I saw you turning into the outlet mall the other day, damn good looking bike from a little further away.
Funny thing is, my bike can't NOT find Neutral. Going from 1-2 no matter how you do it, you end up in neutral. Down shifting will skip neutral 6/10 times. I hate it.
So far all I've heard you mention is get a 1000 for speed and power. For a daily commuter i think a 600 is perfect. I'm getting me a 600 lol
Zx6r for me! Lol
Grats on your baby 🤍
Finding neutral is easy. Clutch in, bleep throttle and push gear into neutral at the same time. Works everytime for me.

In my opinion if u have good coordination and have good reflexes And can respect speed ur fine on a 600. If ur not well coordinated never been on two wheels ridden any Bicycle or just not as confident with bikes start with a 300. If ur a beginner don’t even touch a 1000 bike . You will not learn as good as oppose to a smaller bike . U will make mistakes , a simple mistake on a 1000 cc bike is rarely forgiving. Ride safe build ur riding skills and work up to a 1000 if that’s ur goal
please dont install the baffle get a low mounted pipe and get that baby spitting some flames!!! please brother im living vicariously through u!! haha
I know man haha
I’ve never had a sports bike but I’m thinking on buying a 1000cc because I’m really good on a dirt bike
going to look at a bmw s1000 tomorrow o. o its a little pricey but i just might pull the trigger on it.
So I was thinking of getting an r6 for my first, so now I should just jump on a 1000cc bike?!?! 😂😂
My very first road bike I ever had was a 2004 Suzuki GSXR 1000 with 13,000 miles on it truly amazing you have to have alot of responsibility and really know your surroundings however my experience on really fast machines started early and I've always been confident in my ridding abilities that being said I always always ALWAYS road with all my gear ridding boots, ridding gloves, ridding pants, and sport bike Jacket I was 30 when I got the bike and to this day I've never had as much fun in a summer on that bike then any other 600 or 750 they ride so smooth compared to the smaller CC bikes also you don't have to work the bike as hard you just go I rode everywhere on that bike by the end of the summer into fall season when I sold it the bike had 19,000 miles one very important view I never ever put my self in a situation where someone could run me off the road and always respected the machine for what it was and it's capabilities! Someone once told me this the 600cc sport bike sound fast but the 1000cc inline 4 cylinder's are fast really fast. Oh and I didn't sell the bike cause I didn't like it anymore or that I had a close call I sold it cause my wife and I have 6 children and me having a sport bike of any cc was a variable and I wanted to be somewhat responsible. Ride safe God bless and try to make wise decisions when ridding these exhilarating monsters! It only takes 1 mess up and your done or badly injured stay safe dudes!
So how is a 1000 in the city? Is 2nd gear ur go to gear for city riding?
I stay twisting out 155mph on my 600cc. So idk why in the world would I need summen to make me go 185mph. Ain’t trying kill myself. I’m good wit a gixer 750 if most.
For straight highway roads definitely a litre bike
but for tight twisty roads and
the track definitely more rewarding to get the most out of the 600 cc
On the track there’s fast riders on slow bike and slow riders on fast bikes !
Your going to learn a lot more on a 600
I agree with everything you just said lol.. I’ve only been riding 2yrs. Started on my K8 GSXR 600.. I finally rode my first liter bike a month ago. A 12’ CBR 1000RR & a 15’ BMW S1K & lets just say that’s why I agree with everything you just said lol.. I’ll hopefully be getting my first liter bike next year if not the year after 🤙🏼💨
Does that K8 600 have rider modes on it? A GSXR 600 is what i want to start on too. Did you have any major problems starting on a 600?
sabermaster80 it does have “rider modes” being A,B,C .. A being fast.. B being “street friendly” & C being wet mode. But honestly you don’t feel much difference between the modes, it’s mainly for throttle control.. but no I had ZERO issues starting on a 600. The bike will only go as fast as you let it. If you have self control & are mature enough to know your limits you won’t have any issues starting on a 600 🤙🏼
@@chrisyuhas1371 Ok very nice. Having the modes will make me feel more at ease starting on a 600. I was looking to getting a 2015 model or slightly older so they definitely must have modes on it if a 08 has them. I was going to do the whole 300cc for my first bike then slowly more on up the ladder, which is good cos the smaller bikes i hear are more forgiving & lighter and such. But i'm not a rich man so to buy a small bike then grow out of it in less than a year worrys me, i'm a bit on the big size too body weight wise. I'm pretty curtain i would be mature enough to take my time on these bikes, i turn 40 next year & drive a sports car now that can break the speed limit quite quickly but i drive it 80% normally most of the time, i like the look & sound of it more than the speed to be honest & i think it would be the same with bikes. Thank you for your response though, much appreciated sir 😉
sabermaster80 np man I bought my 600 for the same reason.. didn’t have the money to do the whole 300 then 600.. just ride the bike slow until your comfortable with it!
What a lot of people don't mention about owning a larger bike is that your registration and insurance is significantly higher, i own a 2014 cbr1000 and absolutely love it but i pay the same amount of insurance than i do with my car and when my car is out of action i end up resorting to commuting on the bike which is fun at first but gets old pretty quickly and although i can get to work faster i find it to be a lot more uncomfortable for long periods.
You also have to weigh it up, Do you ride enough to make it worth it? and are you gonna do track days on it? because there is no point in owning such a powerful bike if you aren't going to use it to its full potential or atleast try to use it to its full potential.
You wil feel the wind anyways, doesnt matter is it 600 or 1000 cc because the difference is sth like 10 to 15 kg, what is not significant at all.
imo 2020 bmwrr is ugly, the r6 was and always will be the move. no need for 1000cc on service roads or even highway riding save 1000cc for the track.
getting a yamaha fz1 tommorrow :)
So after getting my ruckus. I already need something stronger.. hasn’t been 3 weeks man lmfao
A Ruckus is 50cc .. Has like 4hp lol😂 I’d love a Ruckus though, stock they are pretty fun and build up they are soooo sick.
I see where a lot of people say that the liter bikes are bigger than 600's but my 2017 GSXR 1000 is actually thinner but taller then my wife's 2015 GSXR 750. There's only like a 20 to 35 lb difference. I guess her 750 is not a 600 either.
3:25 "why is this legal"... Lmaoo it's not bro😂
Why not a 2000 cc bike, or a 3000 cc? Is bigger not better?
Try adjusting your clutch lever, if you haven’t
i want a bike but i think i would die in a year if i got one cuz id wanna go really fast
I prefer the sound of a modded 600 personally. But Purdy much all your other points I agree with.
1000cc bikes are just too much for the road, I can go over 105mpg in 3rd gear on my 600, which is still too fast for the road. I'm thinkig with terrible road conditions here in the UK a supermoto might be the way to go for quick fun rides, i'm just worried about the seat situation and my old backside.
Ride the ruckus more,I need my fix
-the guy that said on twitter that I need my fix of motonosity ruckus
What a headache having such a nice bike & not being able to find N
Bro where have you been? It's been over two weeks with no Motonosity
This only really applies to people near massive highways, like me for example i live in Australia, there is probably 5% of the roads within100km of me that i can actually open up and use most of the power in the bike, so i dont believe i should spend $20,000 for power i will mostly never use, sure a quick power burst off a corner onto a highway is extremely addicting, but a unrestricted sport 600 ( r6, zx6r) is enough, plus pricing is half for me.
Where is that area with all the new overpasses being constructed?
I notice the area around Austin is really flat. Wow.
Alright I’m having a hard time making a decision, so should I get a 2017+ R6 or a 2017+ CBR1000RR? They’re both about the same price where I live. Brand new as well
I will add that I like the look of the R6 WAYYYYY BETTER
get the R6!!
I have a 2017 cbr 1000 rr sp model love it and it has power modes to bring down the power if you was worried about that.
R6 is a track bike...

If you need to be told when to buy a literbike you likely don't need one.
Well, I don't think it's such a good idea to start on a 1000. I think I'll stick to a 600
So what is your thoughts on going from an 1133 scout to a liter bike?
I’ve been riding a ninja 300 for almost a year now. My friend is about to give me his GSXR-1000. Should I ride it right away or should I wait until I’m more experienced? Just asking for opinions.
But FIRST, you've gotta be able to afford it.
practically speaking, a 600 is more then enough for a normal rider and u will never even max it out(safely_), plus liter bikes cost a lot , even after sales.
I want a BMW S1000RR and Yamaha R1M
Great video.
Good points.
I find the extra power as a safety measure in case u want to accelerate to dodge something!

All of these guys need to move to California. Just riding down the hwy sucks. We have hours and hours and hours of seriously crazy roads and we have the weather to ride them all year. This hwy shit sucks.
I'm puzzled because my 2009 ninja zx6r does 70 first gear and gets to 90 easy on second.
Hey cyclecruzer i think u made this video and the one about the 600 being better already.
xD
I a m thinking about getting my license for motorcycle. I have tried a motorcycle before only dirtbikes. Do you think getting a 1000cc motorcycle as a first bike will be good? I am looking at sportbikes, such as R1, gsxr 1000 or a ninja zx 10r. I have heard that they are easy to drive on low RPM, it first when you really turn the throttle that the bikes ``takes of like a rocket``.
Okay if I’m on a 300 and will ride it for a year should I skip a 600 and go to 1000 or is that too big of a jump
