  • This beautiful firearm is Century Arms AK-47 rifle, that’s made right here in the USA. It’s MSRP is sitting at around $950 and is definitely made for the “quality over quantity” mindset.

It's pretty cool hearing a well spoken clear and concise younger person, speak on the topic of guns with actual knowledge. This made my year dude. I'm no boomer, but I come from a time before Clinton when we could buy AKs out of an oil drum for about $60. A crisp new Benjamin got you the gun, a couple of extra mags, and a thousand rounds in the tuna can. Guy would toss in a magazine carrying shoulder holder system if he liked you.
Loved this video. Very very cool.

Shut up, fudd. There was never a time in history where you could buy ANY AK in the U.S for "$60." Even the oldest magazine articles on AK rifles were $100+.

I watched AKOU 5,000 rd test. It passed. IMO he does a great job, and is one of the most respected guys in the AK world (Brandon Herrera too!) Both guys said it passes mustard. What is the problem here? It’s a budget AK. I have a wife, and kids. I can’t spend 1k + on an AK. I put one of these on layaway (at my cool local dealer… thanks Jim) took me a while to pay it off, but now I have a gun that goes bang every time, is accurate as I can make it, and allows me to do tacticool upgrades little by little. Non of my ex military friends give me shit when we go shooting, in fact all of them have really enjoyed it. We have a pile of guns in the bed of the pick up, and the VSKA is OUR AK, and we have a blast with it. If you can afford an expensive AK… go for it. If you are a baller on a budget, this is a great option. I drove a Honda Civic when I was young, and broke. Other people had BMW’s, Mercedes, Corvettes, way more expensive. But my Honda got me from point A to point B, and it was 1/3 of the price. Haters are gonna hate, but honestly I really enjoy the VSKA, and so do my friends.

A guy at work offered to buy the vska but I'm not sure I want to sell it. The vska goes bang when I pull the trigger and was $250 less than the Zastava m70. So I have two AKs, praise God. I see all the people bashing vska`s but are they basing their opinions on current vska`s or what they might have been in the past. The ppl who bash the vska don’t have a vska, never shot a vska and overall just don’t like century and they’re just biased.. With the ras47 and problems that occurred with that particular rifle, it put a bad taste in peoples mouths and so they just assume every rifle after the ras47 is crap without knowing shit of what they’re talking about. Ppl also don’t like century bc century’s trunnions are cast instead of forged ( although the new bft47 is supposed to be forged). Although I agree that every stamped ak should have forged trunnions, I have a set of no go gauges to monitor headspace over time. Every person should own a set of no go gauges regardless of what ak you own bc you want to monitor your headspace over time so you can know if your rifle becomes unsafe to shoot. I have a vska, zpapm70 as well, zpap92 and an Arsenal sam7. Obviously the Sam7 is the Mack daddy out of all of them, but I love my zastavas and I enjoy shooting my vska. I’ve had no issues with the vska and it’s a fun range gun. My sam7 is my shtf grab n go rifle though no questions. But I love all of them. However, another complaint with ppl is that century doesn’t chrome line their barrels. Obviously I agree that every rifle should be chrome lined and there’s no reason why a company should not chrome line their barrels in 2022. But overall, the vska has held up extremely well and it’s fun to shoot

@@jakeh6980 I owned a Vska trooper. Only put 330 rounds through it, overall wasn't a terrible rifle but mine had a really weird wear pattern on the bolt face, almost like chewing marks ( like someone was taking little bites out of an apple) also the bcg would occasionally get stuck to the rear while shooting. So I ended up getting rid of it and bought a PSA GF3.
The GF3 has 300 rounds through it, shot that the day I picked it up. Noticed when I got back from the range my mag release lever pin walked out enough the spring popped out. Ended up doing some drilling and replaced the mag release.
Next AKs I'm picking up are gonna be a M70 and a Wasr. But so far out of all the AKs I've shot ( which is only two ) the Vska has been the worst. A buddy of mine has one and it's been great for him. So yeah .

The ole milled receiver starts out as a 9 pound block of steel, and 300 milling operations later, it comes out an AK receiver.
Stamped receivers come in 1mm & 1.5mm thick sheet metal. Cool thing, the 1.5mm stamped receiver is about the same thickness as the walls on a finished milled receiver. 🤠

Personally, as someone who at this point has 7 AKs that range from a WASR 10/63 to a Polytech Legend, AK-19, AKS-74U, and an SLR-104FR I really cannot recommend going with a VSKA over something like a Yugo M70 or a WASR at the price range. Both are cheaper at the MSRP stated in the description and honestly you are going to be getting significantly higher quality that will definitely not have the same level of potential failure that the VSKA can have. They have had catastrophic parts failure due to how they are made. You can find a number of photos online of catastrophic failures from these guns, if you are paying MSRP go with a WBP Jack for a bit more and get a really sweet AKM that comes with an optics rail and will last a lifetime with a chrome lined barrel that is hammer forged. I did a review on the PSA 74 rifle and cannot really recommend anything American seriously over an import or good parts kit build. (the lightest stock trigger on any of my rifles) One upgrade I did that was a big improvement was switching to an extra power recoil spring from M*Carbo - the bolt doesn't hit the rear trunion as hard, softening up the recoil.
I'd be interested to know how the trigger group would have an effect on not chambering a round though, if that was the reason given. If I misunderstood that part, I apologize.

I believe this statement to be subjective. It’s like saying the Serbu RN-50 is a “dangerous and outright terrible rifle” because one exploded and almost killed Scott. If you take care of your weapons and use proper ammunition the rifle will be fine. I have somewhat of a motto when it comes to firearms, and I believe a lot of people including close Army buddies of mine who would agree with the statement “take care of your firearm and your firearm will take care of you.” Nonetheless, I appreciate the comment and your forward opinion. Glad you watched the video and took your time to comment. I would not become a better person if I surrounded myself with people who agree with me all the time. Again thank you for watching and have a fantastic day.

Sir if you don’t enjoy the rifle or the video then don’t buy it or watch it. Century arms wouldn’t release a rifle to the public if it exploded all the time.

American AKs especially century arms are cheaply made at best at worst they are a time bomb for out of battery detonations. Would not put more then 1000 rounds though it.

@@bassboss1234I like how you say cheaply made when the Russians made theirs cheap as possible. It’s the history of the platform of the firearm. This isn’t a bad gun now with the price of ammo these days wouldn’t you like having a extra $250 to actually shoot the damn thing? On top of that it’s really solid. It does even fail mil spec by Russian standards so here’s my deal on why I know people like you either bought a Russian AKM or a other brand and want to justify their purchase by knocking another product. Where did I say cheaply made? Nowhere. Also porn PFP. ALSO ALSO I suggest a WASR that’s a Romanian build… I own a Chinese AK. There are numerous pictures of blown up VSKA AKs. They are not made of quality material nor are they put together in spec 50% of the time. You seem like the kinda of guy who bought some shitty American AK trying to justify your purchase lmao
