Premier's probably the only person I don't mind hearing give the same rundown of people he was working with at the time and shouting them out every episode without fail because of how photographic his memory is.

It took Preem 28 episodes before he could finally talk about an original sample that he used for a song. I was really waiting for this!

@@merikishtar I think part of the breakup of Jeru and Premier had to do with the 10 Crack Commandments beat...that was a Jeru Hot 97 promo drop at 1st and Biggie ended up with it plus Big dissed Jeru over a Premo beat Kick In the Door so that added to it...

Jeru also didn't like Premier taking I think it was 50% of his budget cause Preemo did all the production on his Gangstarr affiliated albums
Onyx sued them for the vocal sample on Come Clean and Jeru wasn't happy about constantly getting sued
So on Ru's none Gangstarr albums he did most of if not all the production himself so he didn't have to split the money and also not get sued over the music

Speaking of Snoop Premo, you gotta show how you did the track “Protectors of 1472” with Jermaine Dupri, Snoop, Warren G and R.O.C. back in 1998. That’s one of my favorites beats of all time!

Snoop Dogg also appeared on Gang Starr's "In This Life" on The Ownerz album (2003).

I love how Premier's stories take unexpected turns and twists 🤣. The players card is something else man 🤣. Also it refreshing to see him work with artists outside of New York. Especially when they're people like Snoop or Ludacris. Those way he chopped the sample gave the song a sound of its own.
This is my favorite Snoop Dogg my number one song by Snoop Dogg he was spitting fire in the beat was fire classic and that's on paid the cost to be the boss

The first time DJ Premier worked with Snoop was in '98 on Jermaine Dupri's "Life In 1472" album on a song called "Protector's Of 1472" feat. Snoop Dogg, R.O.C. & Warren G. On the album JD also had a track with Nas called "Turn It Out" produced by a young Kanye West.

This joint was so classic I remember the first time hearing it was an instant head nodder I bought that album off the strength of that song. One of my favorite Preemo beats. Snoop and Preemo nothing but Fyah 🔥🔥🔥🔥 In this Life was crazy too Preemo’s story telling is epic I feel like I was there
Hey Premo! I have to say a big THANK YOU. You are the reason I make beats for a whole decade. I was a hardcore metal Fan back in the days. Heard a Mixtapes of yours and thought: damn hip hop is so easy I can do this looping too. It's easy. Man was I wrong. YOU kicked me into this journey. Fell in love with hip hop, jazz, funk and soul. On a side note I also loved the other joint he produced on this album, Batman & Robin featuring Lady of Rage. I remember thinking wow this is unusual for Primo to flip something as conspicuously mainstream as Batman and still give it that signature Dj Premier boom bap treatment. I love how he used the 80s shows sound effects as stabs throughout the track. Another notch in his belt as far as originality and range.

That’s cause he tryna have too many songs and too many producers. I’ve heard the def jam and death row albums and they suffer because of those reasons.

@@rockhills His album "Bush" from 2015 is fully produced by Pharrell (with a little help from Chad Hugo) and it is consistent throughout. The cover art is also great. More on the funk / disco tip than his usual work, but very well made. They even got Stevie Wonder on a song! He should def do more albums with only one producer.

I think not only Snoop, but it would be dope if rappers would work on some projects with just one producer. There's something about albums that have a cohesive sound that is refreshing.
