Her denying she used drugs because she was afraid she'd get in trouble. But Judge Judy is so patient and compassionate, she didn't hold it against her and suggested she go back to rehab.
People don't just use drugs for nothing. They've usually dealt with trauma of some kind... and the fact that this poor girl (in the red) has these types of ppl around her who would harm her in that way, it speaks a lot to what she has probably gone through at the hands of others. I feel for her. I hope she can get help.
Please don't excuse addiction. Unless your parents put you on drugs you have no reason to being adult on drugs. No matter what trauma a person has been through, I've never seen anyone do drugs and it made that trauma better
@@cryospiral not excusing drug addiction, just why people get on them. There is usually trauma of some sort that has not been dealt with. We really need to make mental health a priority and use proven techniques for helping people overcome trauma. Rehab doesn’t work… she needs community, she needs support, she needs her unmet childhood needs met and her trauma dealt with. I’ve struggled with addiction, those NA and AA meetings and rehabs are HORRIBLE. Full of sex offenders and they claim that you’re powerless to your addiction and that it’s a disease. You have to call yourself powerless and then push god and claim you have defects and only got can save them. They deny trauma and abuse, even suggest people not take prescription meds or medical marijuana because that’s not “clean” or “being sober.” AA and NA are horrible.
You have to be freaking evil to pour boiling water on someone. It's outrageous! And she stands there with zero admission for what she did is unconscionable and upsetting.
Love the way you handled this. Despite the fact that the plaintiff was high, you still took the time to tell her straight exactly what she needed to hear. And she got it. She was high but she got it. You were magnificent Judy.
At the end when she started to cry you could tell that JJ had finally gotten through to her and she realised that someone did believe her and that someone did care. I just hope that she also realises that she needs help and needs to go back to re-hab and stop pretending that she is fine.
The girl in the red reminds me of my cousin... it's so sad to see people so young and full of potential strung out... I feel sorry for her but she is letting the drugs control her... I hope she gets some serious help soon... very soon...
I'm very touched at the outpouring of kindness and compassion in the comments here towards the plaintiff. Addicts generally use drugs because they are hurting desperately and they're looking for peace, and they haven't been able to find it anywhere else. I see so many people mocking others and making cruel, cutting remarks; the comments I see here are refreshing.
That woman clearly needs help and the fact that she cried at the end after the judge telling her the reasons why she wasn't taken seriously crushed my heart. I hope she goes back into rehab and gets the help she needs.
Aaww, her crying at the end got me!!! She needs help and love and support!!!!! And anyone who pours boiling water on someone SHOULD get the max sentence!!! That's just so wrong and cruel!!! I feel like one of the worst pains is being burnt!!!!
Wow. The investigative intelligence of Judge Judy. To read the medical records and see, the lady must have poured boiling water on the other lady, while the lady was sleeping, for the victim to have been burnt in the areas she was burnt. Amazing. May all who are hooked on drugs, get the help they need to no longer be addicted. 🙏🏼💛
I like how Judy makes sure the plaintiff understands what they did/didn’t do right, but at time her judgment is inconsistent to her berating. I mean… she just gave the girl her $5000 proving she believed her.
That's not inconsistent. She explained clearly why the victim being high completely ruined her credibility and why it stopped the attacker being arrested. She gave her the money to compensate her injuries.
@@user-jb7tq7ko7e $5000 vs her attacker going away for years…yeah Judy really brought justice lol. The victim gets paid that $5000 from the show not the b who burned her lol.

Wow. I rarely see someone Judge Judy corners and berates (calmly or otherwise) seem to truly understand AND ADMIT their part in what happened. The plaintiff was argumentative at first, but by the end, something JJ said very clearly and visually hit home for her. I give her all the credit in the world for admitting to herself (not to mention JJ's enormous audience) that she does have a problem, and it's large enough to let a monster get away with serious assault on her.
I hope the plantiff receives all the help to heal and fight her demons. It's so hard when you have reached a certain point in substance abuse, but I think JJ gave her a bit of tough love ..wishing her peace and joy! Xo

I think that plaintiff was embarrassed about the pcp thing coming out. Once JJ gave her some tough love, she broke down and cried and came clean. Ugh, very touching! I hope she finds recovery and a better life for herself. Nice ruling, this is why I love Judge Judy!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
!
This is the nicest I have seen JJ be! She really hated what had happened to the lady and was very upset that no one took her seriously! She really sounded like a mother that was hurt for her sick kid whom needed to see that no one is helping them because they are not helping themselves
about damn time! 😒
There was compassion in that harsh reality.
OMG the plaintiffs cries and little "yeah🥺"s at the end ALMOST MADE ME CRY
This case broke my heart. I hope she is getting the help she needs.
Praying for the plaintiff, addiction is no joke 🙏
Seeing her getting emotional at the end recognizing the effects the drugs have had on her life got to me. Im so glad judge Judy told her that. She needed to hear that. I pray she gets the help she needs and is able to lead a better life
This is harsh to watch she needs to stop drugs💯
I think it may be too late!
Me too, it was a sad to see her crying at the end.
@@mdgraystone no such thing☺️
@@C4TC4T her spirit pushed through
She got through to her in a way that no one could and it’s a gift. I wish I was able to deliver truth this way to people…I hope and pray that this lady was able to get the help that she needed to.
The girl in the red being the plaintiff finally came clean to herself and to a judge hopefully this will have a positive impact on her future.
Amen JJ got through.
It got through. However, getting clean is a whole other story. Getting clean is like living in hell, you will never get out. Even if you do stay clean, there will always been this devil living on your shoulder convincing you that you need drugs
@SilentForrest Yes, but when that thought comes to mind, you must be able to tell yourself that it IS being created by your mind and then immediately create "busy work."
It must be a goal you want to reach for with the strength that can be stronger to overcome your thoughts
Exactly, she was probably raped as a child. Deep trauma. God help her Jesus
I agree..trauma is likely the number one factor in addiction
Please don't excuse addiction. Unless your parents put you on drugs you have no reason to being adult on drugs. No matter what trauma a person has been through, I've never seen anyone do drugs and it made that trauma better
@@cryospiral Agree, and drugs like PCP is just madness, no excuse to take that drug.
@@cryospiral not excusing drug addiction, just why people get on them. There is usually trauma of some sort that has not been dealt with. We really need to make mental health a priority and use proven techniques for helping people overcome trauma. In the end, though, it is always up to the person to seek out the treatment and do the work to heal themselves. We can have compassion but there are still lines that we cannot cross to help, lest we drown ourselves with them.
“Who shot John” one of my favorite expressions 😂😂
She should be doing 10 years!! Also, I really hope this was a wakeup call for the lady who got the water poured on her :^(
Man what a great woman. Giving her the lesson but also helping her. Man 😭
Bless her. I’m so glad JJ ruled in her favor. That was so hard to watch. I hope she heals and gets the help she needs. ♥️
My heart shattered for that woman. I hope she could turn her life around because she has a lot of healing to do.
1:47 Defendant body language is telling when JJ is ripping her story apart. She’s standing there nodding yes to everything and even when JJ calls out that he story is “a whole lotta who shot John”, she’s still nodding yes agreeing with JJ that her story is BS!
I am constantly amazed as to how Judge Judy unravels and sees right through the lies and the BS.
I won't say who but I know someone that took care of her at the hospital. They said she was super high and making no sense. This court case went exactly as it should have. Ty Judge Judy for seeing through the bs
I know this is old but Im just seeing this...what did they say she was saying? Its horrible she did that to her
Unless your life is in danger, throwing boiling water on someone just because you're angry is an assault.
I would bet money that she did it because she was hallucinating. All three of them need serious help
Wow! I was not expecting her to win the case. I hope she doesn't blow it on drugs but to find a good rehab. All three women could benefit from it!
And got the max $$$ too
I think only because the crime was SO egregious did she award so much. Too bad because the money will enable her further
Its for her medical bills, not just to keep
The one in red is high on something!
They deny trauma and abuse, even suggest people not take prescription meds or medical marijuana because that’s not “clean” or “being sober.”
AA and NA are horrible.
When she started to cry at the end it broke my heart because she knows she needs to do better 😞 praying for all those with drug addictions
Best of luck to the lady in red. May she overcome her demons.
man I wasn't expecting to cry watching this. This poor woman. I hope she finds her way soon.
*This is the most compassion I've ever seen from JJ. Short and prescriptive, great job.*
The girl in the red reminds me of my cousin... it's so sad to see people so young and full of potential strung out... I feel sorry for her but she is letting the drugs control her... I hope she gets some serious help soon... very soon...
Life is tough. Especially when you don’t have anyone in your corner.
Thank you judge Judy for giving us a part two continuation of the cases 👏👏👏🙏🏾so happy
That woman clearly needs help and the fact that she cried at the end after the judge telling her the reasons why she wasn't taken seriously crushed my heart.
I hope she goes back into rehab and gets the help she needs.
JJ needs to consult Urban Dictionary every so often to keep up!
Its funnier when she finds out on the spot. Love her reactions. :)
Not everyone is fluent in ebonics, i.e. ghetto speak . . . lol
Or better yet people need to learn how to speak proper English.
🤣🤣
@@stonew1927 Ebonics is standard American English.
Aaww, her crying at the end got me!!! She needs help and love and support!!!!! And anyone who pours boiling water on someone SHOULD get the max sentence!!! That's just so wrong and cruel!!! I feel like one of the worst pains is being burnt!!!!
""You were on another planet"" Great job Judge Judy
Sad. I don't have the answers but our current methods of treating with drug addiction and abuse certainly isn't working.
The person being treated has to want it to work.
@@brt5273 Exactly!
And the root causes need to be addressed
Awww I felt bad for her at the end. I hope she gets help asap.
@@PrinceOfLillies I think If she wants that type of justice she’ll have to go to a different court room with a different judge. That’s why Judge Judy made the ruling. It’s not in her jurisdiction to send that woman to jail.
@PrinceOfLillies irrelevant, this court doesn't deal with sending people to prison and the 5k is for hospital bills
@@PrinceOfLillies Judge Judy doesn't have the jurisdiction to send people to prison. Her show is a televised small claims court. She gave the plaintiff the maximum $5000 because the defendant caused her injuries. Both of them were on national TV, so the b who burned her has been exposed to the country that she harmed someone like that
Praying for the plaintiff. 🙏🏾
I'm learning new vocabularies from this episode itself
Baloney
Cockamamie
Cogent
Bassett hound.
Thank you Ms Judy!!
Her choice of words are quite colorful 🤣
Fugazi
Really? Well I don't know the vernacular of today's young people so I guess its only fair that you don't know those words. But seriously, you don't know what a bassett bound is? I'm not judging, I'm just really surprised.
And Foogazie 🤣🤣
@@cindycindy2894 Almost like giving innocent puppy dog eyes.
This Hass to be my favorite Judge Judy episode I love that she made it clear that the woman was on drugs bad but that she knew what happened to her and that never wavered good Anya Judy
“No no don’t say ‘Judge Judy’, I know how I am!” 😆
Wow. What a case.
Judge Judy is an absolute treasure.
I'm glad by the end of it she finally admitted to her drug problem. I hope she gets the help she needs and recovers.
I'm so proud of Judge Judy, very, very intelligent. She's my inspiration to naming my daughter Judy, she's almost 5 now.
Boiling water. That can almost be attempted murder. You can seriously mess someone up or kill them. Burns are no small injury
Touching how judge Judy FINALLY Made her understand ( it WAS partially HER OWN FAULT... how she gets the help she needs THIS TIME ...AND IT STICKS Her welling up at the end nearly made me do the same but really made me sympathize for her !
Sad on so many levels. I would cry too
Wow. Just wow. I love compassionately Judge Judy handled this case.
I'm glad she won this case at least!
Dang man, the ending got me. I felt bad for the lady in red. For something to be done to you like that and not be taken seriously cause of a choice you made has to be heartbreaking.
DON'T DO DRUGS
Starting to remember what I liked about this show. Judge Judy's No nonsense attitude towards these people is awesome.
The girl in the red sounds like a cat at the end of the video!😂
she was so high🤣🤣
I was feeling so bad for her then I read your comment and burst out laughing. So true lol
I thought it was my cat wanting outside, then i realized I never owned a cat
*Mee-ya* 🐱
Omg haha I read this as soon as I heard it.
Her mind is so analytical and she is tough but tries to be fair.
I hope the plantiff receives all the help to heal and fight her demons. It's so hard when you have reached a certain point in substance abuse, but I think JJ gave her a bit of tough love ..wishing her peace and joy! Xo
They throw a fugazi at Judy expecting to rattle her and she bitch slaps them back with a "Who Shot John?"
🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😆😆😆😆😆😆
Lol 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
😢 She broke my heart when she started crying. She was embarrassed that Judge judy called her out on her addiction problem. God bless her and i hope she thriving today.
That was heartbreaking to watch 😭
o noo, i cried for her...esp. at the end. Judge was actually patient with her short of giving her a hug which she needed. I hope this helps motivate her to get clean.
I'm glad she won but in all honesty talking to a judge using Mob slang is not the right direction to go and says a lot about you.
She was slurring too. I think she just needs help.. I knew a guy like that.
That's why JJ shot her down for that and she cried because she knew it was the truth.
@@alexarias5717 That was a shoker ! To be high in court, and to insult a sworn police officer right from the start !
That girl was begging for troubles. No wonder she found herself with boiling water that day. It's troubles after troubles, after troubles, ...
Yet, Judge Judy took some time to explain to her why things got bad to worst. She didn't had to do that, but she did. She showed love and compassion. I believe that's also the reasons she cried.
And from just what we wintessed in that court room, I don't think she experienced a lot of those, for at least a very very long time.
@@oceaneo4603 yeah I agree 😢 judge Judy is truly great at what she does
@Mia Winchester fugazi officer
Whatever any other time she is snapping and calling people stupid but with these people who are high on pcp she is all of sudden so patient
My heart went out to her when she started crying
What started out as confusion...later breaks my heart in pieces. I pray for her peace and all of their deliverance. Some habits are harder to break than others. God have mercy.
Sobriety, healing, support and love his what this young woman needs…I sure hope she finds it😔
Judge Judy does not judge anyone for who/what they are. One of the things that makes her so great 👍
She truly believes her story so much it made it cry. I hope she gets help.
