I found out about it yesterday and I had thought I’d heard everything, one of my new favorites
Stage on fire, hell at Pantera shows people would set T shirts on fire and throw them around the mosh pit area. Fireworks got lit and thrown around the crowd. People start raging and ripping up bolted down seats. Pantera has the most savage audience I ever saw. One concert they put on in Dallas, people started ripping up the wood planks of the basketball court and exposing the ice underneath( reunion arena was the home of both the Dallas Mavericks and the Stars). Most fun you could have at a concert as long as you don’t get hit with a burning shirt or an exploding M-80.
They do not perform because the guitar player and drummer, passed away. They were brothers as well. Dimebag and Vinnie, Dime was the guitar player. They had one more band after Pantera called Damageplan, should check them out, different singer and bassist but the brothers are together on that band. Dimebag was actually shot and killed on stage while playing a concert in the band Damageplan
Unfortunately they no longer perform. They broke up, and the guitarist Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed on stage while performing with he and his brother's new band, Damageplan. This was December 8th of 2004 in Columbus, Ohio. The drummer, Vinnie Paul (Dimebag's brother), died of a heart attack on June 22, of 2018. There is no Pantera without the original members. They do have a tribute very year where the a lot of highly respected metal musicians and singers get together and cover Pantera songs in Dimebag's honor. It is called Dimebash.

The Moscow Monsters of Rock concert also had Metallica and AC/DC performing at it. Sadly they didn’t all come to see Pantera but I promise many of them left wanting more Pantera.
No, they don't still perform. Half of the band has passed away. Dimebag, the amazing guitarist, was murdered on stage while he played his guitar. Vinnie Paul, Dimebag's brother and the wicked drummer, died two years ago from heart problems. Phil and Rex the singer and the bassist respectively, are still around and making amazing music. They were both in a band called Down for a bit during and after Pantera. Phil is still in that band, but Rex is not. Phil's kind of a renaissance man of heavy music, performs in many, many bands of different styles, sings, plays guitar, bass and drums, produces, promotes, composes and runs a record company.
