  • Shaedon Sharpe was one of the most impressive rookies this season in my opinion. Which may come as a shock to some of you. It’s not even a guarantee that he makes an all rookie team this year. His numbers don’t jump off the page like they do with Paolo Banchero or Jalen Williams. But what makes Sharpe so impressive goes beyond just the numbers you see on the surface. Sharpe’s rookie situation is all about context.
Prior to the NBA he went through a draft process that nobody else that was drafted in the lottery went through. He spent a year and a half doing nothing but practicing, training, and scrimmaging with Kentucky. Shaedon Sharpe flashed the potential he had for most of the year. But towards the end of the season he showed us that. He’s a building block for the Blazers future.

My name is Noah Terranova. On this channel I make videos breaking down the film of basketball players in both long term and single game contexts. I use a combination of advanced stats, basic stats, tracking stats, and what I take away from watching the games to form my evalutions. My goal is to give my own perspective on the game with my own little twist on how I choose to present it.

Sharpe is years ahead of where I thought he'd be... and as a Blazers fan, I am extremely stoked about this

Like you said if you look at it through the context of him still being a teenager, and most players are a couple years older coming into the league, the kid's super impressive. Dame was asked who would win 1 on 1, Dame at 19 or Shaedon at 19, and Dame very quickly responded Shaedon. I think his floor is very high, like fringe to semi regular All Star. His ceiling could be scoring title or even possible MVP. We could look back on this draft class and see him as the best player or top 2 in his class potentially.

Absolutely. He's definitely going to be at least a fairly consistent All Star, but I think more likely he will be a superstar.

Great video! I know it’s way too early but I just feel like Sharpe’s going to be an absolute monster, can you imagine him at 24 after 5 years of NBA experience! I just have a feeling about this kid. Especially if Dame sticks around and can pull some of the pressure off of him and also teach him the tricks of the trade. Could you imagine a 6’6 Dame that can jump out of the gym, play defense, and knock down 3s????

From what I heard he has a great work ethic and is very teachable. That has as important as his natural abilities. I live in Beaverton Or. and what I have heard is encouraging.

What are you talking about? Shaedon Sharpe has the highest vertical in the history of the NBA combine if you didn't know. A 49-inch vertical leap would be the highest max vertical ever recorded in NBA history. NBA draft prospect Shaedon Sharpe has a vertical of 49 inches.Sharpe also has over a 7ft wing span.

It’s not official he did a workout with the pacers and they said his vertical was below 49 inches

@cookn6732 I don't know if you know this but you CAN jump under 49 inches and still have a max vertical of 49 on my best days I jump 2 3 inches higher then a day if my back hurts or I have any soariness

It a joke they were both draft when they were 21. Sharpe has objectively had a better "19 year old" NBA season than Jordan and Oscar because they were still in college.
