Well done Charlie and Roger. Proof that you don't have to spend a fortune on a new BMW 1250 GS (or similar) to have an adventure! I wish more people would jump on their existing bikes and enjoy a great trip, instead of dreaming about when they will buy an "adventure" bike.
Any bike is an adventure bike if you take it on an adventure! 😊

Very enjoyable 7 episodes both the wife and I enjoyed watching. I like Normandy and that whole coastal area, it's ideal for biking.

I've just discovered your channel, it's a delight ! Maybe you could get paid by the French Ministry of Tourism...
I may have an explanation for the lack of people in small villages. During the day, people are probably at work (for those who still have a job) and the children are at school. What's more, these villages are often populated by very old people who don't get out of their homes much any more; the younger people have emigrated to the cities where jobs are. And finally, many houses are second homes, so there's no-one there except during the holidays...

Like they say in French "Partir c'est mourir un peu" Lovely series and looking forward for your next one. Just got back from a short 4 day trip to France, and after about 250km max, a day my behind felt like minced meat. (nothing but small , winding and damaged roads. I must say I'm not as fit anymore as I would like, but hey who's complaining 😀🙃😇 Great job Charlie, im a fan.✌

Fantastic road trip,brought back many memories for me, I toured France,Spain Portugal, North Africa,Italy the old Yugoslavia for many years, well from 1979 till 1996,,change of direction and lived for a number of year on the edge of the picos europa, I worked for myself as a motorcycle/ car mech, then settled down but your trip was fantastic great to see and I love RE, I have a couple now, it’s a great life you just got to grasp it and you guys did, thanks for the hard work filming and then editing and uploading ,thank you both

I did 8 days with my friend whilst you were travelling. Did the northern borders. Did France, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. Found a lot of wet weather but loved the whole thing. Keep up the good work Charlie. All the best x

Great trip, enjoyed watching all 7 parts. I came back last Thursday from a few days in the 'Grand Est' region of France, we found the same thing with the smaller villages we passed through deserted during the day.

Everything from the soul-searching, introspective bits to the light-hearted moments has been absorbing. I've recently returned to biking after a break of 20 years and your videos have given me a taste for touring again, especially France. I have to say, the tent was awesome and the extra room was an absolute dream for me. I won't go back to a tiny tent for any more than a summer one nighter again!

Maybe a trip through Switzerland over the Alps to a soundtrack of Matt Monroe ( on days like these )into Italy to follow the Mille Miglia, USA to do Route 66, Spain and Portugal....the choices are endless.

Enjoy every moment of of your adventures, as for the empty villages people are working in the nearest towns & citys older people tend to spend time sorting there wood piles for winter and complaining.

Thanks for that, a lovely finale to your tour and what a great tour it has been. It was nice of the weather to behave after the soakings you got early on, it’s always nicer to ride in the sunshine.
Do you find it very different travelling in convoy compared to when it’s just you? I tend to travel solo most of the time but I enjoy the different experience that riding with others brings. On this trip you saw both sides. I met up with an old friend for a few days riding together in the Pyrenees in late April and were meeting up again for a few more days in mid September. Despite usually preferring being on my own I’m really looking forward to it.
Now your adventure is over you had better get on with planning the next one.
Hi David, I also enjoy riding solo, but it is nice to meet up with people too. I found after the 6 days solo it was nice to have someone to say 'Ohhhh look at that!' and have a laugh with, solo travelling is great, but after a week I did miss talking to people, I do like to talk! 😊

Exellent video series Charlie, next time make sure your travel companignon dont have 6 times the horsepower you have!!! On a slower bike you see more, and chooses smaller roads which are more fun, and you dont get speeding tickets!!!
Luckily my travel companion on this trip doesn't mind getting square tyres waiting for me. 🤣
