Really it has often been Democraticism vs Soviet ideology. Both have been brutal in the way that they have tried to direct humanity towards a certain path but only one of those paths (democracy and liberty) trurned out to be the correct path for psychologically advanced people. In businesses, towns and small villages across China, you will certainly, if you research it, find groups of people exploring what it is to have the style of communication which incorporates a vast spread of opinions and expression. It is often said that even in true Soviet societies people DID know how to express themselves. In Soviet Russia or Soviet Romania, people developed whispering forms of humour and articulation and, in China among friends, people can be garrulous and bold. So what, in particular, made some countries see having your own mind and being able to express that as less dangerous? I would suggest you can look right in to the ancient world and find that actually the democratic countries, from their Greek roots, put an emphasis on the importance human being, and are truly human centric. Aristotle, for example, said that 'educating the mind, without educating the heart is no education at all' and to ancient Greeks communication, or rhetoric, was one of the highest abilities. Rhetoric, in its essence, was communicating ideas. This is in stark Contrast to Confucius who sees education, yes as a path to confidence and peace but also as a path to an official career. A far more utilitarian approach. What you truly think or what is genuinely in your heart, under the aegis of such a methodology, is less of a concern. So this is the process that China is going through now. They might look at Western democracy and think it has flaws, but deep down they know those flaws will eventually be ironed out and as they evolve, psychologically, the Chinese feeling for democracy will increase. In the West, it merely requires talented people to do the ironing out of those wrinkles within the democratic fabric. Democracy was never meant to be a house left alone and unoccupied. It was always meant to get a regular spring cleaning too. Perhaps, indeed, it is testimony to it's efficacy that so few people bothered to reinvigorate democracy and re-innovate within its principles, every few years, as you tend to do with everything else. So that's why it is actually a good time for Chinese to start the democratisation process. Chinese like to say 'I did it my way' (we all do) but let's not forget that we rest on the shoulders of giants too. So, in actuality, Chinese can start to build their own style of democracy. This video implies that the US involvement in the Afghan conflict against the Taliban achieved nothing. At least the Taliban of today is a far less brutal regime than the Taliban before 9/11, and even under Taliban occupation, the Afghans are still benefiting from the electricity, running water, internet, solar panels, and whatever skilled jobs are left since the chaos of the Taliban occupation of the US-backed Afghan Republic.
It so sad as someone who grew up seeing the 2 gulf war which then I believed to be just and agree with their actions. Now getting older and , hopefully, wiser, I start to question what happened then and the more I reflect on what was going on, the more I see the world and the evils of these so called "Free World" democracy lead by USA. My dad came home from Vietnam after 10 yrs of off and on being deployed. He came home when nixon called it quits. He came home, but didn't live in his home for 10 yrs. He lived in the garage. He didn't see me grow up, from a 12 yr old to a 40 yr old. He didn't see me because he couldn't look at me. He didn't get to be a grandpa to his grandchildren becuase he was trapped in the hell in his mind, and never looked at his 10 grandchildren. Yeah, for around 4 decades he really wasn't home. And then one day, he was back. His mind healed. He resumed his life as the man I once knew before that last time he went overseas. He's a wonderful grandfather to his great grandchildren now. He was that man, the awesome father to me as a child. I remember that man. And I finally have him back.

The west right now is judging the Philippines for voting the deemed "former dictators" son as president in the recent election winning on a landslide without knowing exactly the reason behind why majority did vote for the guy. I had a university friend who suddenly skipped class for two week straight. After she returned, she looked like a totally different person, dishevaled, stressed and depressed. She told me that she had cancer, and when she called her parents in Vietnam to inform them of her situation, they cried all night. My friend's mother let slip that when she was a kid in Vietnam, during one particular morning, before dawn, she had to flee from the war and her family ran through a field of dead baffalos and crops cowered with chemicals. The mother knew the chemicals could kill you and that doubt stayed in the back of her mind for years until she gave birth to my friend, a healthy baby girl. After that, the doubt went away. Neither my friend nor her mother could tell if the cancer was due to those chemicals. But its pretty unusal for a student in her 20s to get cancer. My friend left university about 2 weeks after she told me all this, and flew back to Vietnam. I lost contact about 2 years later and doesn't know what happened. If she is still around, she would be 31 this year. She was the shy one who had the warmest smile.

I remember the start of the Gulf war, I am British and i was living in Britain at that time. Let me make it clear that many people including my family didnt believe the narrative of WMD's and many of us hated Tony Blair even then. But Britain is not a real democracy (nowhere is). The voice of normal people means nothing to the British government and because the establishment wanted war and the media supported it then the world might think that the people supported it. i can say that a very large number of us did not support that war. 911 was a similar story. The highly suspicious nature of the American response to that incident and the idea that it gave the green light to invade Iraq made alot of British, maybe the majority of us, not want to have anything to do with these wars. Really it has often been Democraticism vs Soviet ideology. Both have been brutal in the way that they have tried to direct humanity towards a certain path but only one of those paths (democracy and liberty) trurned out to be the correct path for psychologically advanced people.

What the democrat has failed to realise in the past is that most of the ideas which humans have followed since antiquity are stone age, are not too amenable to democracy, and are not chipped away at easily unless you acknowledge the type of stone which is erected in front of democratic thinking.
Confucianism is stone age as it is unflinchingly hierarchical and this is presented as a type of beauty. Islam is stone age as there are many things which are considered to be above democratic discussion and this is presented as a type of beauty. Jehovism is equally totalitarian and this is presented as a type of beauty.
The shape shifting lizard overlords truly do know how to tap in to the most repetitive and unevolved part of your brain, the R-Complex, and call it a form of beauty.
Even the philosophies of Liberal democracies can become undemocratic as, for example, people struggle to think freely about their own freedoms.
Just as a simple example, has the liberty of the 2nd amendment in the USA become stronger than the 1st amendment. Surely these liberties have a type if order or, at least they are designed to create the highest liberty of freedom of thought, or similar, which is not just hot air, but which leads to real results.
So to an extent, I agree with China pointing out how the liberal democracies have at times behaved with barbarity. We do need to be aware of this. It is not as simple as China makes out though as there can be a good side to fighting for freedom, in exceptional circumstances. The Liberal democracies should not though, to reiterate, shy away from those times they may have made the mistake of trying to rush countries to evolve from their draconian systems. It makes these countries themselves, draconian, if they get it wrong.
There must, we imagine, be a subtle art to discovering freedom and promoting freedom, with fighting being the last resort. Actually, we ourselves went through it at one time.
There are indeed those who believe thsat China is democratising. And what is the essence of democracy, but communication.
In businesses, towns and small villages across China, you will certainly, if you research it, find groups of people exploring what it is to have the style of communication which incorporates a vast spread of opinions and expression.
It is often said that even in true Soviet societies people DID know how to express themselves. In Soviet Russia or Soviet Romania, people developed whispering forms of humour and articulation and, in China among friends, people can be garrulous and bold.
So what, in particular, made some countries see having your own mind and being able to express that as less dangerous?
I would suggest you can look right in to the ancient world and find that actually the democratic countries, from their Greek roots, put an emphasis on the importance human being, and are truly human centric.
Aristotle, for example, said that 'educating the mind, without educating the heart is no education at all' and to ancient Greeks communication, or rhetoric, was one of the highest abilities. Rhetoric, in its essence, was communicating ideas.
This is in stark Contrast to Confucius who sees education, yes as a path to confidence and peace but also as a path to an official career. A far more utilitarian approach. What you truly think or what is genuinely in your heart, under the aegis of such a methodology, is less of a concern.
So this is the process that China is going through now. They might look at Western democracy and think it has flaws, but deep down they know those flaws will eventually be ironed out and as they evolve, psychologically, the Chinese feeling for democracy will increase.
In the West, it merely requires talented people to do the ironing out of those wrinkles within the democratic fabric.
Democracy was never meant to be a house left alone and unoccupied. It was always meant to get a regular spring cleaning too. Perhaps, indeed, it is testimony to it's efficacy that so few people bothered to reinvigorate democracy and re-innovate within its principles, every few years, as you tend to do with everything else.
So that's why it is actually a good time for Chinese to start the democratisation process. Chinese like to say 'I did it my way' (we all do) but let's not forget that we rest on the shoulders of giants too. So, in actuality, Chinese can start to build their own style of democracy.
As they get richer and more comfortable, those inscrutable and rigid Chinese will eventually discover the 'heart' that leads to an advanced-in-communication society.

It so sad as someone who grew up seeing the 2 gulf war which then I believed to be just and agree with their actions. Now getting older and , hopefully, wiser, I start to question what happened then and the more I reflect on what was going on, the more I see the world and the evils of these so called "Free World" democracy lead by USA. My dad came home from Vietnam after 10 yrs of off and on being deployed. He came home when nixon called it quits. He came home, but didn't live in his home for 10 yrs. He lived in the garage. He didn't see me grow up, from a 12 yr old to a 40 yr old. He didn't see me because he couldn't look at me. He didn't get to be a grandpa to his grandchildren becuase he was trapped in the hell in his mind, and never looked at his 10 grandchildren. Yeah, for around 4 decades he really wasn't home. And then one day, he was back. His mind healed. He resumed his life as the man I once knew before that last time he went overseas. He's a wonderful grandfather to his great grandchildren now. He was that man, the awesome father to me as a child. I remember that man. And I finally have him back.
And those who lost their families in Vietnam war will never see their loved ones back.

In the West, it merely requires talented people to do the ironing out of those wrinkles within the democratic fabric.
Democracy was never meant to be a house left alone and unoccupied. It was always meant to get a regular spring cleaning too. Perhaps, indeed, it is testimony to it's efficacy that so few people bothered to reinvigorate democracy and re-innovate within its principles, every few years, as you tend to do with everything else.
So that's why it is actually a good time for Chinese to start the democratisation process. Chinese like to say 'I did it my way' (we all do) but let's not forget that we rest on the shoulders of giants too. So, in actuality, Chinese can start to build their own style of democracy.

I had a university friend who suddenly skipped class for two week straight. After she returned, she looked like a totally different person, dishevaled, stressed and depressed. She told me that she had cancer, and when she called her parents in Vietnam to inform them of her situation, they cried all night.
My friend's mother let slip that when she was a kid in Vietnam, during one particular morning, before dawn, she had to flee from the war and her family ran through a field of dead baffalos and crops cowered with chemicals. The mother knew the chemicals could kill you and that doubt stayed in the back of her mind for years until she gave birth to my friend, a healthy baby girl. After that, the doubt went away.
Neither my friend nor her mother could tell if the cancer was due to those chemicals. But its pretty unusal for a student in her 20s to get cancer. My friend left university about 2 weeks after she told me all this, and flew back to Vietnam. I lost contact about 2 years later and doesn't know what happened. If she is still around, she would be 31 this year. She was the shy one who had the warmest smile.

We should never forget that:
1. The U$ hasn't been at war for just 17 years out of the 246 years since its foundation.
2. The U$ is by far the most aggressive nation on the face of the planet responsible for the vast majority of the conflicts after the WWII.
3. The major beneficiary of the U$ never-ending wars is its military industrial complex. Which is also by far the biggest war profiteer in the world.
Bonus: The U$ is also the only nation to have ever used nuclear weapons against another country. Furthermore, they dropped their nukes on the civilian population.

I remember the start of the Gulf war, I am British and i was living in Britain at that time.
Let me make it clear that many people including my family didnt believe the narrative of WMD's and many of us hated Tony Blair even then. But Britain is not a real democracy (nowhere is). The voice of normal people means nothing to the British government and because the establishment wanted war and the media supported it then the world might think that the people supported it. i can say that a very large number of us did not support that war.
911 was a similar story. The highly suspicious nature of the American response to that incident and the idea that it gave the green light to invade Iraq made alot of British, maybe the majority of us, not want to have anything to do with these wars.
Certainly by 2002 or 2003 id say the majority of normal people KNEW that we were lied to by our leaders and KNEW that what our government was doing was immoral and perhaps illegal. BUT we are just the normal people. no-one in power cares about us or asks us to speak.
As an Englishman who now lives happily in China I am CERTAIN that the UK and USA will start more wars and very sadly one of those wars will be with my new home of China.
I dread that day and I try to warn young people about it when I can.

How lucky I'm in a nation who has been struggling against this evil allies for decades during which we have developed good enough to protect ourselves from being victimized. We detered the invasion of the Japanese imperialism, safeguarded our boarder by sending volunteers to Korea, witnessed the fall of the USSR, was targeted to be bombarded deliberately at Kosovo, and alleviated the last 100 mils population out of poverty.
I understand our nation is not perfect. But I truly believe that we are on the right track to bring all humans a substantial unification and harmony. Looking forward to witnessing the collapse of the US and its evil allies, their finale is coming soon.
