The Birthright Annual Concert is a family-oriented concert celebrating the African cultural legacy through traditional and modern African drum, dance and theatre. The concert has been held in Washington, DC for the past 5 years and this will be its first annual instalment in Ghana.
The concert will take place on the 1st of March at the National Theatre and feature live performances from

The birthright concert is part of events slated for the Back2Africa Festival and Tour and “Year of Return”, a year-long calendar of activities in “celebration of the resilience of the African spirit” coordinated by Ghana Tourism Authority, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture
The 2019 Back2Africa Festival happens February 25 - March 8, 2019 and consists of a service project and performance stop in Kumasi, Cape Coast, and Accra featuring…The CrossRhodes, Black Alley Band and Farafina Kan.
The Back2Africa Festival is a partnership between The Adinkra Group and The Ghana Tourism Authority that celebrates Black History Month the last week of February through Ghanaian Independence Day in the first week of March with a focus on the arts, education and service. Welcome home, you can stay as long as you want, Ghana is your birthright, take every opportunity that present itself to you, open your eyes opportunity is all arround. We love you all.
Thank you so much for saying that. It means so much to me to hear that from a citizen of Ghana. We in the U.S. need some comfort and understanding. Living in the U.S. means our lives are filled with racism and discrimination. It's nice to know that we have a place of refuge in Ghana. I'm hoping to come in December - I'm going to kiss the ground and cry tears of joy.
@@soulshadoww55 will be waiting for you. And I want to see you
Am Ugandan but I thank Ghana for this initiative... May we other African countries continue to participate as well... God bless
You country needs to promote itself more like this as one that's welcoming African Americans. It will benefit from their skills knowledge organisation investments and they will help it improve its standards.
You need to visit Ghana.....
Well said sister from Uganda. About time we start talking like brothers and sisters and not just people who happen to live next to each other. We should all welcome them in open arms. It's a big deal. A sad story but we will give it a happy ending.
You are right
Iam Ugandan living in USA and married to African American, but I know the pain these people feel as they search for their identity. All he wants is us to go back buy land and settle in Uganda .wen we was watching Akon's documentary of solar project back in his motherland, my husband's wish was that if every African American wld borrow alleaaf, pay attention to working together regarding locating their identity n celebrate to be back home. Africa is one of the most blessed continents on planet earth and their is great opportunity from its naturally resources. ..
It made me cry at the end 😭 even though I was born and raised in Africa. So proud of Ghana for starting this initiative 👏🏾 much love from Somalia 🇸🇴
In fact am very happy to see our brothers and sisters coming back home our motherland Ghana 🇬🇭
You may have left your home forcefully, but Africa never left you, for you are finally back home. This is so beautiful it makes me cry. You will always be welcome back home with open arms and lots of love. 💞
I am Ethiopian love to see all African in america or Europe come back home and learn their roots culture,

I made this pilgrimage a month ago...now is the time. It's life changing.
See here, once again it's the Great Ghana that has started it BEFORE any other country. We're always first to everything when it comes to originality. The rest will follow. Ghana will become the envy of the world but we doing this for the rest of the continent to follow. One people. One dream. Let's end the division forced upon us. Love Ghana. Love africa.

Awusa/Fulani people don mess up Nigeria kpata kpata...no brains but they won't leave the corridors of power make people wey dey use theirs do something for the country. See what presidents with brains do for their country (Ghana). Meanwhile the only thing this awusa/fulani president knows and thinks about is RUGA.
I can't contain the tears , nor the aches in my heart. May our ancestors rest well, for the most will reward them.
I plan to go with an open heart and mind ready to learn, heal, and move forward.

It’s so beautiful as well as great that our masses coming back home to our mama and that’s Africa. I have been fortunate enough to go to Ghana 4 times. I love our capital Accra, our nightlife over there is nice and bright too. Also in Accra, there are nice houses, schools, hotels, beaches, sports stadiums etc. I went to our restaurant to have a nice plate of jollof rice with jerk chicken and fried plantains.
What a moving experience that must be for those visitors. I almost teared up with those ladies when they were crying after coming out of the dark rooms. Africans from all over the world, we must learn to trust each other, love each other, embrace each other's diffences. Understand that in this world we're living in, nobody likes us, everybody wants to exercise some level of racism or discrimination against us. *United we stand, divided we fall *
Home sweet home your welcome to the motherland Ghana get settled.
It's gesture to follow 4 all other African nations. Not only African Americans but any1 of african heritage who lives outside the continent should be allowed to return unconditionally. I am a Somali with love 4 my kind.
No one in the west related too Somalia or Ethiopia

I'm so glad I watched this because my personal experience with Africans has not been pleasant especially my sisters I'm so sad to say We are not here by choice but by force and it seems like we are judged by our own people it's like we African Americans have no home at all we are not welcomed here and in many parts of Africa we are not welcomed home either Again I needed to see this thanks for posting
Ghana the heart of Africa . We love u Ghana.
God bless you Africa 🌍

Can't control my tears 😭
We need to connect to Africa, we need Africa, all them Chinese, Arabs and whites that have business in the black community look out for their countries, every non black in America still have love for their countries, we as blacks in America should have love for Africa.
Much love from the states .
I also cried when I visited the cape coast castle ..where the slave were kept and sent way.....especially when we got the room called a place of no return.......
So deep and emotional I can't stop crying. Finally our brothers and cousins are knowing the truth which has always be beat our hearts anytime we think about it. And which is more painful when instead of recognizing the wrong deeds they are covering it saying that our ancestors were sold by their own parents. Please this times are very emotional and historical for our brothers and sisters from the diaspora...And well done to the PRESIDENT OF GHANA , all our KINGS and all the members of all the organizations. And because this is emotional and historical for our brothers and sisters who have been waiting for the moment longtime and because they got
"the message". Humbly speaking please can we make around the castles and other place more safe for them? this places are memorial places. They are there to buy foods to eat or clothes to wear there. We are going to make them miss the message. We can build tourism side or market in the city where if they want they can go buy Africa clothes and foods( suggestion) and also avoid talking about economic impact in the city so that it will not seem to be the reason of our
" message".( of course it going to be economic impact) but....be wise our brothers are crying deeply.....thanks.
You are all welcome brothers and sisters of the diaspora as you can see this is the truth, people are truth and everything. It's not fake this is home your home. GOD bless you all we love you.
Welcome home we love you all

I be there in July
I love this
This is great. Ni nzuri sana. Karibuni ndunga na kina dada Nyumbani Africa. I hope my African Latina people got the message. Infact we as Africans should arrange for a repatriation programme to help the African Latinos in Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Argentina back to Africa as a matter of urgency. I was in this places and I did like the severe racism towards our people. I lived in Taxco, Guerrero, near Iguala. There are Afro Mexicans in these areas all the way to Vera Cruz. In northern Colombia the situation was really bad with the war in their neighbourhood. The case in Brazil needs a different approach. The African people are a majority, about 54% , there problem is poverty and the self hate that has been incalculated in them. All is needed is awareness programs so that they can turn out and vote in large numbers. Then they will contro the policy making and formulation in Brasil. All the same Karibu wote Nyumbani. Kiswahili must be learned as our African and African diaspora continental language.
AKWAABA WELCOME TO YOUR PEOPLE
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭We love u allll 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢💓
I think all black people in the diaspora owe thier ancestors this obligation to visit Africa, and make a connection. Imagine the souls of those who drowned in the ocean, toiled on the plantations, and hounded down by the adversary trying to escape,...... look down from heaven to finally see thier descendants step foot into where they should have been all along but for faith. I'm Nigerian and I support this message. Come home invest your potential, and feel free walking amongst your people. In other news please Southafrica stop with xenophobic attacks on other nationalities, there was no boundaries until the European powers decided to divide Africa for thier selfish interests.
I been to Nigeria I loved it !!
Great job
It's so painful to see how our people were treated in such cave
