Wow this really touched me as a British born Ghanaian i never really understood the impact of the slave trade and the effects it had on African Americans i pray that one day we can all come together and make Africa the great continent it is.
Ghana seems to be the only country who cares so much bout brothers and sisters in the diaspora..always showing them love and welcoming them at all times..what are the rest of Africa doing
The problem of others countries are stability and dictatorship governments, Ghana n other West Africa countries seems to be free from this factors. Ghana was even a central point of exit and organization of slave. My dad who was 111 years before his death in 2011 at the famous slave market town Salga. He said family use to go in group or u risk of being captured at gun point, farmer and smaller village were major targets this white use to hunt, this is what he told me, though others have their own stories too.
Karim Saani Not all west African countries are stable Senegal Ivory Coast Congo Brazzaville are stable would be good but speak French not English. So Ghana is really the only stable English speaking west African country.
I was there in 2019 after 3 and half years later, I purchased 1 acre of land in the central region of Ghana and started building 44 apartment units for. All praises to the most high Jah and our ancestors
It is an amazing trip. I went there with my son and was blown away by the experience. I am a Ghanaian and was taken aback the cruelty of people who brutalized our brothers and sisters. A trip inside those dungeon will stay with you forever. Never forget folks This is a worthwhile place to visit.
So touched by this video. We need healing as black people - not matter where you are from. The wound is deep. The blood shed unbelievable. What we have left is the scab of trying to make it in other people's lands, and trying to fix what was left behind in our land of origin. We will be healed.
Lord Jesus, guide your people right now Lord. We are not appreciate of one another even after knowing what our ancestors endured. This video has inspired me in so many ways.😥
We thank you for visiting our country. we have more than what was shown you. we have the cultural aspect of been African and the spirit and the pride that we hold for being blacks. We look forward to seeing you all brothers and sisters. Welcome home . AKWAABA.
I like to take this opportunity to welcome my brothers and sisters from the diaspora to my country Ghana. I hope you find some peace and truth within yourselves. Akwaaba!!!
The Ghana President, Akufo-Addo said it beautifully. Africans will never be respected unless the continent rise up. The Chinese did it. The USA can no longer bully China. The ancestors are calling you home to make it great for the great great grand children! No matter what you do, your blood and soul is in Africa.
Pretty ridiculous really, you have no connection with a place an ancestor of yours came from 400 years ago. You need to stop looking for a grand history that isn't there. Focus on today and what black people might be able to achieve in the future rather than trying to steal other cultures pasts.
@@nasto4u850 yes I would like to come back home to Africa. But I want to return back to my DNA ancestral home and country and reclaim my ancestors homeland Citizenship
I am from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I am here to tell you Jay (and every african americans descendants of the enslaved ) that you are more than a survivor. You are indeed the best specimen there is for black people. Anybody that studies biology and that observes nature would comprehend the notion of "survival of the fittest". You are indeed the fittest of our race. Some of us in Africa are also fittest, but all of you without exception are fit to be successful and be champion of this world. I am glad you took that trip with your wife and realized that your are a miracle. As you so eloquently put it yourself, you are not supposed to be here. So if you are here it must be because of a greater purpose than most of us have. So to all my african americans bothers and sisters take that journey (education, reading, travel) to find out who you truly are. Hopefully you realize sooner than later you are heavily equipped from within to withstand all challenges thrown against black folks.
I am Yoruba from Nigeria and I say welcome home. I visited the point of no return in Badagry as a teenager and what I felt there will remain with me forever. We Africans love African Americans and we want you to visit Africa and walk on the grounds our ancestors walked. The slave trade affected everyone and from the stories passed down in my family, most people were kidnapped when they went to the river or to their farms, taken to these slave houses and kept in the dungeons before they were shipped off to the unknown. It might seem as if some Africans don't know much about the slave trade, it is simply because it is not taught in schools. What we are taught is what was passed to us by the colonial masters. I feel your pain and I welcome you all back home, to the motherland, to Africa.
Dammieh Every time I see someone who is Yoruba I have to say E nle ma. I got my DNA done and I'm mostly Yoruba. I've been working at all I can learn since I found out last summer.
@Lilli L'amour, sister that's good Yoruba right there! E ku irole ma. Sending all the love in world your way. I am so glad you had the DNA test done and learning the language, it is yours, own it! You should also listen to songs by adunni and nefertiti, they are a yoruba band, you will love them.
Ghana's doors are always open to all our brothers and sisters in the diaspora. Come home , where you will be treated like kings and royals, live among those who love you and bring your ideas so we build together and win true African independence and emancipation. Just like Joseph who was sold into slavery saved his brothers from perishing, you guys have got the key to truly liberate the continent from the shackles of intractable poverty. Welcome home

It took centuries for our fellow Africans to accept their own ancestors that said welcome home is your ancestors home take it and be proud of their sacrifice, no pain no gain Africa is on the move so join us to make it a better place for all
Great video and one reason I'm proud to be an "African" American (not an "Aboriginal," just "Black," or any other such identity) because it's an honorific title that recognizes those that suffered and paved the way for us to enjoy the human rights and freedoms we now enjoy and take for granted. Our ancestors and previous generations were a strong and magnificent group of people. It's unbelievable that they were able to survive the horrors yet still remain humane and dignified. I have the utmost respect for them, their hard work, and the many personal sacrifices they made.
It is an experience that all black Americans should experience before they leave this planet. It will change you. I first visited Ghana in 2001. I visited Elmina and Cape Coast Castles. They have more along the coast of the Atlantic. Years ago some of the dungeons still had remains and excrements of decayed dead slaves on the floor and they had to spray to control the order. The oily floors were hard to stand on because of the oily skin and human remains that were hundreds of years old. The temperatures would reach over 120 degrees during the day inside the holding cells. I personally stood inside one of the dungeons to measure the temperature and it was 138 degrees at 3pm. There is a unique circular symbol that was drawn on the ground to keep the time which is very accurate. One other attraction that many don't know about in Ghana is the village of people who have lived for centuries on top of the water. Some only recently started coming to the shore in Ghana. That is another experience that will affect your thoughts on life. I started a non profit in Ghana in 2003 called Seed 5000 and we ship shoes and clothes to Accra Ghana every quarter from Houston Texas. The people in Ghana are so appreciative to receive any item of clothing from us here in America. We all must do more before the Asians take over Ghana. Just FYI, of all the American presidents, I have only seen an expressway named after George Bush in Ghana.
Brother do uou have a contact information? There is a group of us that just came back from Ghana and we would like to help or any african country any way we can.
We appreciate your desire to help, brother/sister. I am a Ghanaian and I would like to share another perspective of what aid (donating shoes and clothes) does to the locals on the longterm. Ghana (and all other African countries) are not short of shoemakers and tailors. It’s a trade that preexisted the arrival of the Europeans and is struggling to survive. When donations from Europe, America and Asia flood our markets, they’re way cheaper than the locally produced clothes and shoes. This reduces or kills the sales of local entrepreneurs and they end up on the side of need. In the end, mass media reports how African countries depend heavily on aid, when it’s the aid that made them dependent. The same happens with food aid destroying the livelihoods of local farmers, development aid that insists that the civil engineers be imported which weakens the local construction industry, the list goes on. It’s a vicious cycle. I want to propose a new perspective you can take. Investigate local businesses that are trying to scale up in Ghana and other African countries. Find out how you could link them up to other local and foreign markets. You can help them improve the quality of their products, if need be, to make them more competitive. This way, you create employment as they scale up to meet the larger demand, they become independent and the economy grows. You can take a cue from the story of africaonmyback.com. She discovered these beautiful backpacks made in Ghana and started marketing and selling them in the US. You can also check out Maximum Impact Ghana’s video here on UA-cam. He is connecting entrepreneurs in the US and Ghana to boost economic activities for locals to improve prosperity and financial independence.
@@edemadukonu741, thanks so much for your wisdom! It's a great reminder that what's most needed is to help empower our people in Ghana & elsewhere on the continent. Not make them dependent. I just returned from my first trip to Ghana & I saw how powerful the entrepreneurial spirit is there... They are looking for ways to make more sales to feed their families & help their communities. I agree with you 1000%. I also just came across Africa On My Back & Jay who is helping build collaborations and partnerships between Ghanaians and Americans.
We acknowledge the good you want to do in providing donations. However you can do even better by purchasing from them & helping facilitate partnerships between Ghanaians & Americans. My husband & I got contact info for several of the entrepreneurs. We're looking to buy more goods from them & to collaborate with them to build stronger families, communities and nations.

But sitting here destroying our present ones. A Christian doesn't pray to dead ancestors for help never know who went to hell. lol. We pray to God / talk to jesus as Christians. Any other religion, I can't speak on how they operate.
I’m going to Ghana next year!!
Welcome sister.. I live in Accra, I have a friend of AA coming in August.. Can't wait to meet him..he's called Heru
@Culture Freedom don't discourage her..he make it why not?
I'm with you sis!!! I always wanted to go.
@@lex1794 welcome dear,I live in Accra at East legon
Monique maybe I could be your tour guide :-)
I would love to visit Ghana one day. My parents are Jamaican and from what I do know most Jamaicans have ancestral lineage going back to Ghana, and for some Nigeria. I really believe that all those in the African diaspora should visit if they’re ever afforded the time and opportunity. From what I hear, it’s an experience. Much love everyone! 💙💪🏾
Please 🙏 come to cape coast 🇬🇭 is a peaceful place to stay
Wu kum apem aa,Apem beba(Kill A Thousand,A Thousand will Come),my tears are refusing to stop whiles watching this, but then again i feel this sense of gratitude, love and respect for my ancestors.Welcome Home Brothers and Sisters.
It’s imperative that Black Americans connect with their ancestral homeland. Even though we still have much to learn, we can’t deny that as Descendants of Slaves, Africa is critical concerning our true culture, language and religion. Much respect Jay, I cried with you and your wife while watching the video.
will you like to visit Ghana???
Future generations if u seeing this know we Love you and we was here!! And we will always be with You!! ... for sure we will also be ancestors someday know we always protect you in spirits❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I cry every time. Our ancestors endured so we would live. Let their voices be heard and their blood cry out to the heavens. Blessings to you. Thank you for this video I will return one day. I also will honor them. Thank you.
Anytime I watched this particular video my eyes filled with tears.
Same!

This video is a reminder of my people, and will forever be in my note library. Whenever demonic forces weigh me down, I'm praising YAH ELOHYM and viewing this video to uplifted my spirit.
Jay and Ernestine continued blessings. You are the real deal. You are’ action not a bag of mouth’. A Jamaican song.
Our ancestors really suffered 😢😢😢😢🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭May they Rest In Peace 🙏🙏🙏
Wow this really touched me as a British born Ghanaian i never really understood the impact of the slave trade and the effects it had on African Americans i pray that one day we can all come together and make Africa the great continent it is.
Ghana seems to be the only country who cares so much bout brothers and sisters in the diaspora..always showing them love and welcoming them at all times..what are the rest of Africa doing
Cameroon is a another country they even gave their descendants land and their proper name
Jaxson Pierre yes you right bravo
DRC will if African Americans reach out to their new president.
Something big, big, big is coming to African and is going to start from Ghana I can see it clear
Oh yes I agree...
Never forget folks
This is a worthwhile place to visit.
Wow! This is powerful! Thanks for sharing. We are so happy that you and your wife have journeyed back home and you will always be welcome. 🙏🏾🇬🇭❤
King and Queen my respect just doubled for yall!!!!!!!!!!!
Is 3am in Ghana. I just chance on this video. I can't just hold back my self. Crying like a baby.
Akwaaba!!!
Why did I start to cry, while watching those two, especially the guy, crying?
Such expression of pain. This, must NEVER happen again!
The Ghana President, Akufo-Addo said it beautifully. Africans will never be respected unless the continent rise up. The Chinese did it. The USA can no longer bully China. The ancestors are calling you home to make it great for the great great grand children! No matter what you do, your blood and soul is in Africa.
I cannot wait to visit. 2019 the year of the return. 400 years later ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Pretty ridiculous really, you have no connection with a place an ancestor of yours came from 400 years ago. You need to stop looking for a grand history that isn't there. Focus on today and what black people might be able to achieve in the future rather than trying to steal other cultures pasts.
Seen a lot of people's videos of this place but this one got me. I felt this one big time. Blessings
will you like to visit Ghana???
@@nasto4u850 yes I would like to come back home to Africa. But I want to return back to my DNA ancestral home and country and reclaim my ancestors homeland Citizenship
This is the most beautiful education tour! Gladly seeing all black ppls from all around the world come to see the truth with good history to comtinue.
I respect and love you too sister
Dammieh Every time I see someone who is Yoruba I have to say E nle ma. I got my DNA done and I'm mostly Yoruba. I've been working at all I can learn since I found out last summer.
@Jaxson Pierre I love and respect you too. E kaabo si ile Africa, ile wa ni tooto (welcome to Africa, our rightful home)
Dammieh I will look up the bands now. Thank you for the info and the love sis.
As an African I feel so bad I can’t stop crying 😭 😭😭 sorry brothers and sisters from diaspora
@Lachasity Brown Just get on the plane go back to sleep we will wake you up when we get on the continent.what Baffour Kyei is saying Lachasity is we can put our skills together and build Africa back the way it should be
Baffour Kyei some of us is already there and more is coming.
@Chat no need, the doors have no locks.
Seeing this brought tears to my eyes. Black people are a race that has been treated so badly, for so long.
Yes and I was there too last month and we must invest back in Afrika for all of Afrikans to benefit. Afrika is our Throne of the Motherland
We love you all....
Can we link up?
Proud Ghanaian ... can wait to go back home.
The ancestors are happy. The healing has begun. Praise to the Almighty God!

Peace King and Queen Morrison, thanks for sharing the details of your Ghana journey. Thanks for working hard giving knowledge, so our people come together. 🖤🖤🖤Safe travels and blessings to you and your family.
Africa is for Africans, I left New York two years ago back to Gambia 🇬🇲 where everybody looks like me now me and my family is Gambia citizen we only go to the US for visiting. Am happy here no more intimidation I build my own house 🏠 5 bed rooms with large compound my kids are very happy, come back home and invest there is lots of opportunity here just come visit first and see for yourself. God bless Africa mother land this is year of return.Shalom!
Good for you. In my view, a lot of AAs don't realise that there is a gap/void created by this tragic episode and I believe that every AA should at least visit there to reconnect and experience what is like to be for once the majority.
Thank You Jay for sharing this... May God Bless You and Your Family...
I actually felt the chills as this story was told about our ancestors... I've traveled many places However it's now time to really experience Africa...
will you like to visit Ghana???
Africa was wounded and still is, Africa is rising and now it will claim it's rightful place as a mother of humanity
Got a little something in my eyes watching this and my brother Jay feel the pain that some of our ancestors suffered through....
will you like to visit Ghana???
Real video big homie! Salute to you and the Queen
Will you like to come to Ghana
I’m ADOS but I’m going home to Alkebulan/Kush/Ethiopia/Africa in 2021✊🏽✌🏾
Agree 💯 we're not Africans we're Alkebulan or Alkebulanians
I truly appreciate you for posting this, King Jay. I'm so emotional watching it. I can only imagine being there......
Thank you brother & sister
God bless your hustle man, we have to try telling our own story, we can't let those white folks tell our story never again, frankly I cried watching this. God bless you man
Brought tears to my eyes
Finally our people are coming home. .. God bless Africa
Nobody is returning lol, Why would anybody move from a 1st world country to a 3rd world country?
@@charliecatesby3346 If African-Americans or anyone in the African diaspora living in the West wants to make that move why should they be discouraged? All of the comforts associated with Western living can be replicated in many other countries as long as you have the money.
Glad to see you all back home.
African American are such beautiful people.
We're beautiful because we come from you
Yes they are :)
The Hebrew Israelites really are beautiful people. That's who we really are. All praises to YAHAWA BAHASHAM YAHAWASHI for this truth.

How about Africans that aren't American?
The Stanger EXACTLY! They single their own people out who are not in North America... stupid!
Come back home guys... Africa needs you back..
I went to Elimina castle about 10 years ago. It was life changing!
Gotta go to Ghana 🇬🇭🇺🇸
And I think the same way I will never forget my African ancestors I don't care where life takes me
Salute! A lot of our ppl are denying their ancestry and it’s pretty sad
You are welcome to the motherland.....we love u❤
i'm always crying antime i hear and see this
at least am happy too to see us gether as one
I’m a Ghanaian Buh still can’t imagine what our forth fathers went through.
I am African American guy is it nice over there I never been
It is an experience that all black Americans should experience before they leave this planet.
@@ab71640 you can email me Rick at pt109rick@gmail.com
Ghana is Africa Africa is Ghana you are welcome at home brothers and sisters❤️❤️💕💕❤️❤️💗💓❤️💕
My mother and step father took me there on our way to Takoradi....its pretty riveting in that place. Haven't been in Ghana in about 20yrs though
