- We have been asked a few times to film Morecambe town centre. So here it is. We take you for a walk around and show you inside the Arndale. The town gets a lot of negative comments from people as it is just rotting away. We hope you enjoy this walk around. Please like and subscribe.

So last week me n wife had a drive out to morecambe. Not been anywhere near for years. Wow that isnt the morecambe i remember. Walking through the arndale center n it was like being an extra in a zombie film !!! Seafront shops boarded up, dog shit all along the prom, spose the prom highlight these days is the LIDL !!! Had to see it for myself after watching this vid, so thank you.
Yeah morecambe is in a dire state I think the best thing here is the view but that's only on clear days lol
I think the council needs to do a national marketing advert campaign to get visitors to visit. You can invest in shop buildings, but if people do not know where and what Morecambe does, they won't go. It happened with Rhyl in Wales, which was very popular and is now a quiet place. Morecambe does so many great events shame it is not recognised, more better than our areas
Totally agree. The town could be amazing but it's like the council don't care.
Your are such a nice couple. I watch "the Bay" and can only recognize "The Prom" Love fra Denmark ☺
Thank you. We keep meaning to do the filming locations from the last couple of years. Take care, and thanks for watching. 😊
Loved ur tour round morcambe City centre and arndale shopping centre which I visited many times many moons ago, I always used to go to an ice cream place at one entrance which was opposite a tesco,s, Happy days, best wishes ❤.
Thanks for sharing
I was born in morecambe went to school there left years ago the place was busy Chrystal Ts. DMC music store queen street and what happened to the big risen ramped display outside samuels in the square so much of the shopping street gone such a shame
It is a shame, a lot of Morecambe has changed over the years and I wish I could say for the better but it seems the council has forgotten what a good destination morecambe could be ........
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel 🙏
There’s a pots pie shop up on bowerham rd near the post office and spar shop 👍👍…
Awesome we will have to pop in 👍
I love the prom too but its sad to see the rest of the town the way it is.
Yeah its a shame to see it being run down the way it is but thank you for watching and supporting the channel 😀
Had some great times in morecambe great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for filming. The town that I live in is the same. So sad to see it so run down.
It has definitely changed, but not for the good
I'm 65 now. Good to hear that there is some investment going to get pumped into morecambe the 60's and 70s were excellent times, so much to do, not like now so sad ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's sad to see Morecambe lose more businesses each year. We hope it will get better if Eden ever arrives. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the tour! So many closed shops now in lots of towns in the UK. Same where I live. It's very sad x
It sure is. We are hoping Eden will change the town.
When I was a kid we went to grove grill but can’t remember where it was it’s not there now but what is it?
They made a big mistake when they did away with Frontierland ,it was great for the kiddies.
Yeah i remember working there, best job i ever had being a ride operator, hopefully they will put something similar on the abandoned land.
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 👍🏻
So sad such happy memories of Morecambe back in the 1970s . And Heysham Head back in the 1970s.. Happy Mount Park. The lights almost as good as Blackpool. The piers . Would love to turn the clocks back
It would be good, these days morecambe seems like a forgotten, wasted opportunity of a sea side town.
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel 👍😊
Great tour we love morcombe so relaxing 🍦🍺🍷😎
Thank you.
I remember when slaters had a prize bingo on queen street
Oh yeah 😊
It's absolutely beautiful
Thank you 😊
Oh I miss coming to Morecambe 😢
It does hold a lot of good memories for us too from its better days, thank you for your comment and your support on our channel 👍 😊
Mia Italia that you passed that also owns the ice-cream shop is my fave restaurant of all time I am overdue going deffo booking a table when i come down. There used to be a wee hornby shop on that street that Brandon every year would get a model train from it was a cute wee shop. oooooo yeah Nick is doing brilliant those windows look amazing.
The shop was called Richard Lancaster and we used to get all sorts of things from there 😊 nowits a bed shop 🙄🙄x
Thanks again for another informative vlog Morecombe is the same as most places more empty shops than not i hope you enjoy your holiday
Thanks, George. We are having an amazing time. Hope you're well.
Same all over Britain now !!! Everyone wanted them nice out of town retail parks didnt they !!! Hows that working out ? I have very fond memories of Morecambe. As a child we holidayed there every year. It had 2 long piers with everything on them. It had 2 fairgrounds. The pleasureland on the front and another behind the winter gardens. Wow it was an awesome place brings me happy memories. Shame now these coastal towns full of the drug addled underclass ! The no hopers, unworkables ! We certainly took the Great away from Britain didnt we !!!
Fully agree with you Gary, there is no such thing as Great Britain anymore, now its full of snowflakes and wastes, Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 👍
Yeah it was a great vid you did. Entertaining n showing how it is today. Blackpool the same. Walk literally yards from the prom n its a different world !!! Nobody in position cares anymore. Theres just no pride. Theres very little regeneration n all they do is blame it on someone else n cry that theyve got no money !! Yet it seems all the contracts they draw up with they,re friends always seem to be beneficial to their lifestyles !!!
love an authentic foot tour, definitely felt like we were there! yeah sad in the Midlands how many empty shops there are, noone can afford the rent can they? i much prefer a high street rather than online as im an impulse buyer xxxx
I think the entire country is in a sad state nower days, we love shopping in the shops rather than on line, you get to see and feel the product you want to buy, glad you enjoyed the vlog 👍
Love the vid but you went right past the Vic without mentioning it ,it was without doubt the best pub in Morecambe (IMO) 😉
My bad lol we've been there loads of times too
Palatine that’s my cousin bar
Awww, brilliant. We will have to pop in for a drink at some time.
Sams was a great fish and chip shop.
It wasn’t “ closed down “ it closed because of personal reasons.
Morecambe is my home town.
Watch the house price s rise when the Eden project comes to the seafront.
The council really needs to spend lots of money on improving the town centre .
😊
We always went to grove grill can’t just remember where it was
It was on Peddar street 😁
My dad lived in Morecambe for thirty years. We would visit with the kids and the highlight, apart from seeing grandad, was the fair! Morecambe was killed off when the fair closed down. The promenade is lovely but everything else is just awful. We last went to Morecambe three years ago and stayed for the weekend. The town is dreadful. The people have changed. Dog friendly? Nah …. And the cafe’s only take cash! Pinning hopes on the new Eden Project won’t bring the punters in. It’s a shame but the Golden Goose (the fair) has gone and so has the public. That was our last visit.
Totaly agree 👍
does morecambe still have a market place
Yes, it's called festival markets and is located next to reel cinema on the prom. It's not a bad market really. Thanks for watching.
Could i ask where you are from.
We are from Heysham. 😊
Then you will know what a town it really is and people should be proud of what it has to offer.
CARRY ON GIRLS WAS BASED ON THIS THEY CALLED IT FURCUM...THEY WERE TRYING TO GET VISITORS ...A VERY FUNNY FILM 😀
😊👍🏻
