    Thank You for sharing this video, I’ve thought about selling plants (I’ve given away plants. People tell me how nice & healthy I keep them and how expensive they are at the BIG nurseries)

      You should definitely give selling your own plants a try! I think it's easy and fun. 🌻

    Another tip I would offer is to save your Facebook messages of people who bought plants from you. For example i sold plants to people from 2022 and I decided to reach out to them this yr and they came and bought more in 2023. I like the heeling you do with your plants I'm going to have to start doing that. Some plants are more aggressive than others and they will root to the soil when you pull them up they will wilt. Coneflower is an example I think it has a major Taproot and when it gets disturbed they will show it. I did lose a lot of plants from or harsh winter. We only had one week of bad weather but it was the lowest temperature we had in like 50 years ( Christmas freeze). It's cool that you got so much shade. That's a big help in those hot summers with smaller plants in pots.

      Hi Randy. You always give great tips which I truly appreciate. Great idea about saving the Facebook messages and reaching out to people the next season. I never even thought of that! You are so right that some plants are more aggressive than others. I'm noticing that about my Spiderwort. I'm going to have to rethink having those plants in my plant nursery, especially since those plants are in 4" pots and are already rooting into the ground and it's only July. Sorry to hear that you lost so many plants this past winter. It definitely was a harsh winter!

    Great video! I am in the early stages of my first year having a backyard nursery. Would love to hear more about how you use Facebook marketplace. You mentioned not listing single plants, how are you going about listing multiple items?

      Hi there! That's wonderful that you are putting together a backyard nursery. I plan on making an update video on my nursery soon and will include lots of great information on how my nursery did in its second season, lessons learned, etc. I use Canva (a free image editing tool) to create a collage grid of my plants and I number each of those pictures. Then in the listing, I list out each plant with the corresponding number and just give a high level plant name, pot size, and cost per pot. Please be on the lookout for that video. Good luck with your nursery, friend! 😊🌻

    What soil do you use in the pots. Soil is extremely expensive.

      I use free soil that is by the road at my local transfer station. It appears to be composted leaves and other waste mixed with a little bit of sand. I fill up 5 gallon pails of this soil and use it both in my plant nursery as well as in my flowerbeds. I suggest you reach out to your local transfer station and see if they have anything like this.

    How do know which plants are patented?

    • @budgetgardeningvita
      @budgetgardeningvita  Рік тому

      Hi Sherrill. I play it safe by not propagating plants that come in branded pots . Also, if you look at the tag of a plant and see a PP#, that means that that plant is patented. Finally, if you do a search on the internet, there are a ton of resources regarding patented and trademarked plants. Although I recycle branded pots, I tell my customers that those plants not part of that brand.
