Honestly you don’t need to justify the prices of the plants you sell. If someone’s willing to pay for it, it’s a mutual and beneficial exchange. Keep it up Harli!

Also IMO, most people aren't aware of the extra value in healthy plants with generations of good care, much like a pure line of tropical fish or anything quality in general, you're paying for the hard work behind the scenes!

Maybe put a small tall table in there for you to put the boxes on so you don't have to bend as much. Possibly a little swivel stool as well. Even when not preggo, that would totally be worth it for your joints! Loved the vid!

For those plants that were doing fine and all of a sudden started dying - I recommend checking the pH level of the moss! That has happened to me before and I have found that moss pH fluctuates a lot. For a newly opened bag of moss, pH is always < 4 for me so then I have to wash / strain several times to bring the pH up to around 5 or 6. It might be worth checking if the moss has become more acidic for those cuttings :)

@Harli G Thanks for the great video! Where do you get your cardboard supplies? Local or online? I like your method of securing plants into the box, and wondered where you got the box and the insert that worked so well together. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing this! Super helpful! Here's an idea on how to help customers unpack with minimal damage. Include a post card with instructions. Make sure to tape it somewhere on top of the plants so it's the first thing the customer sees. Maybe write READ ME BEFORE UNPACKING! to get their attention.

I know what you mean about struggling to get rid of variegated plants. It's like you want to see all the beautiful leaves they produce. Plain leaves don't get me as attached, but variegated for sure.. I feel you, girl. I feel ya.

You can save yourself a lot of physical work and time if you sit for a short while to set up little round white spice labels with the plant names and numbers instead of writing them on the cups. Next time will be so much quicker because you can just edit the numbers if/as needed. Just relax with some tea next to your baby and "Stick and Pic". Also, insead of holding each plant, set a spot where you can line up 3 or 4 labeled plants, spaced just enough apart so you can photo each plant solo (without the other plants in the pic) then put those back and line up the nect group. Use a light weight plastic tub or a basket to tote the "subjects/models" to and from so no going back and forth, back and forth. I hope these ideas might help or spark even better ideas of your own to streamline your tasks. Make your business work so you don't have to wear yourself down. You have a kiddo now 😊

Where do you get that brown, thick paper you use to wrap the plants with for shipping? What size boxes are you using to ship in?
