Please don't feel guilty for spending money you have in something you love! That was a great haul and I loved the way a book haul turned into horror blog very quickly ...
Don’t feel guilty . There will always be books to buy . My husband thinks it’s a library he lives in now with all my books every on shelfs in every room of my house lol great books you have found .enjoy
Time to spill my guts out in my nostalgic mood lol I use to be very big into booktube 8-9 years ago and you were one my absolute favs! When I got to the end of high school/early 20s I fell out of my strong love of reading and booktube. Work, life and, never enough time all the normal excuses. These past 6ish months i've been rekindling that what I thought was a long lost love with the help my collection of Stephen King I never stopped buying (currently reading It for the first time!) Out of the blue the other day I thought of you and had to come looking and I can't describe how happy I was to see you still making videos, and seeing i'm not the only one who drives around with a skeleton in the back of their car lmao So I just wanted to say thanks for being a constant for me from 15 years old to my current 25 even if I trailed off a little lol You even made a native Michigander consider going to Ohio to check out these stores and that's a hard sell lmao
Oh my gosh, thank you for your comment! It made me tear up a bit that someone who watched my videos at the very beginning (I still can’t believe I’ve been doing this for over 10 years!) would remember me and come looking. That’s so awesome! I’m glad you are rekindling your love of reading. I hope you keep discovering great spooky books. 📚👻
This video felt like such a fun little escape. Thank you so much for taking us with you on your bookish adventures! I feel inspired to go bookstore hopping now lol 📚📚📚🏃🏻♀️
Bookstores like this are great. I remember when I was a little kid and went into my first used bookstore after going to the doctors office and got an Anamorph's book.
I'm always jealous when I see people shop at used bookstores and find Christopher Pike novels. I go to lots of bookstores here in Portland and never find them. I did see your book displayed at a new all-year Halloween-themed bookstore called Books Around the Corner in Gresham, Oregon.
Cameron you aren't alone. I always feel guilty about spending. I have to say pretty much the same words you do. I guss it just means that we are such financially responsible people, that even when we spend responsibly, no matter what, it still feels like we're being irresponsible because we're so darn responsible. 🙂😩 Did this make sense? I don't know. Hey! your buys are awesome!! I've seen a few of those books. That one book you stopped at (haunted bookstore), "Deadly Friend," I've seen it before and wish I had bought it. 🤦🏽♀️ Thanks for taking us shopping with you. Have a blessed week.
Where I live, the horror sections of bookstores are really small, if they have one at all… So, I look in the mystery/thriller sections and usually find some horror gems there. Great advice! Awesome finds! I love this vid! Thank you for another great one!
@@LibraryMacabre there is never a horror section and I even look in the mystery section and there's nothing! I might have to shop online but I am in Australia do I have no clue as to where to shop... :((((
A basement in a second hand bookstore has a skeleton mannequin in its horror section as a little bit of fun. The owner brought it at a yard sale for $10. It's constantly falling over and frightening the customers, "damn, ghost" the owner mutters. Meanwhile the ghost is sitting in the corner reading an old beaten up book, "hey, don't look at me. You're the one who brought a cursed skeleton into the shop."
Love these jaunts outside of the library! The haunted basement in that bookstore reminded me so much of a used book store I go to over here, where they have the best stuff in the back, right near the darkened room full of mannequins and overturned shopping carts. It's staffed by volunteers, although you hardly ever see them until it's time to actually pay (they are probably the mannequins, to be honest).
I want to shop at a haunted bookstore! That sounds so cool. 🥺 And so much variety, and so many amazing horror gems in the shelves! The bookstores near me are only haunted by King and Koontz titles taking up 99% of the horror sections. 😫 I’ve been collecting Leisure paperbacks lately, too! Specifically I’m hunting down all their Ketchum titles. I, too, love how uniform and compact they look.
Damn, bookstores in Ohio are brutal lol, great video! btw i've read Autumncrow during Halloween, expecting a cool book and nothing more, but actually i LOVED it, especially the stories Frost and There are Monsters Here, that last one hit really hard!
Oh my goshhhhhhh! These bookstores 🤩🔥 I have been longing to find Killer since I started collecting (which isn't that long honestly, but still, hahah)! Congrats on that find! Lots of great and exciting books, eeeee. I got a high watching you shop and finding some neat stuff. Also makes me want to go shopping 😆 I'm hoping to find some books on my upcoming trips out of town 🤞 Great vlog and haul! Thanks for making this for us 🎃
The two Chelsea Quinn Yarbro books are both part of the chronicles of the vampire St. Germain - An excellent series, but best to start at the beginning if you can! Also, 'Of Saints and Shadows' was excellent, though it's been MANY years since I read it...
You found so many awesome books! And I am SO excited that you picked up This Symbiotic Fascination! Definitely one of my absolute favourite reads of the year. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it!
There was a book in one shot called The Burning Bride by Margaret Lawrence. I can't speak to that book, but if you ever see the first book in that series -- Hearts and Bones -- it's definitely worth a read. It's historical mystery, but it has a very dark undertone and terrific writing.
Definitely understand you buying more online...I've been having amazing luck on ebay. Doesn't beat in-person book shopping but my selection isn't too good. Though I did find a new favorite used bookstore near me. Unfortunately they are tiny but the credit is the best I've found and the owner is very nice. If I am ever in Ohio, I will have to dedicate a day just to these bookstores! Great haul!
i have brian lumley's the house of doors {i'm 5 chapters in}. so far its giving me "blade meets independence day, with special effects of Ghost Ship; all on a slower pace" vibes.

Your videos always cheer me up!! LOVE watching your horror book finds : ) Also, can't wait for your book to come out, i've already put it on my Christmas list, just finished Autumn Crow, it was great!
Aww, thank you! I don’t think it will be out in time for Christmas at this point. So much personal life stuff has come up lately that has pushed it back, but it is on its way to being done. :)
I also like a good graveyard cover. It was weird, I was saying outloud that I like that cover then you said you liked a good graveyard cover lol at least I'm not alone in that respect.
This is probably one of the best book videos I've ever seen on youtube. it's really a shame that so many authors aren't available outside the U.S. because their books haven't been translated. Anyway, I'm writing to you from Italy and congratulate you for your channel. Very interesting.
Those bookshops look absolutely amazing! All my local ones have tiny horror sections. One question.... how do you keep track of which books you own?! Do you ever buy books to later realise you own it already?
I found my copy of H.O.W.L. High right around the time you published this video. I think I was in middle school when I picked this up. I was surprised to see it in your video for sure!

Hey Cameron, hope you are doing well and staying creepy. I hope I haven't ever said anything in my comments offensive in anyway. I did make a little joke about the book you mentioned in one of your videos about Jonathan Rand, about the name he came up with pertaining to dust bunnies. I am sorry about that joke, because I know you said when you found out that he came out with a book like Attack of the killer Dust Bunnies from Outer space, that it shattered you. I hope that comment didn't offend you in anyway. I do think that was wrong of Jonathan Rand to take other people's ideas and twist them. Just wanted you to know in case, I'm sorry.
I like the old book covers. There is aesthetic in them that speaks.

My joke was a name of Night of the living dust bunnies.
