You always find such awesome books. The last time I lied is actually on my summer reading list right now. Seeing this also makes me thankful my mom never got rid of all my goosebump books. I think have most of the classic ones, just haven't wanted to part with them.
I grew up reading Stephen King in the 70s/80s, and Skeleton Crew and Dead Zone are two of my faves ...along with his non-fiction Danse Macabre. His other early short story comp, Night Shift, is must reading also. Incidentally, I read that Alien tie-in by Alan Dean Foster back in the day ...it differs from the movie narrative in some ways, but remains close. I suspect he was hired on to author it early on and ended up basing it off a script that eventually changed for the movie. Anyways... looks like you had a fun day horror shopping!
Awesome hauls! Thanks for sharing 😁 so wish we had a bunch of used bookstores here, they look amazing to just spend hours in, such bargains too! You mentioned having The Exorcist on VHS, would love to see a vhs and dvd collection vid if you’d be up for it. 🤓😊
My VHS collection is quite small! I only have a few - The Exorcist, Evil Dead II, TCM, Halloween H20, Bats…they’re movies I randomly found and couldn’t resist!
Great vlog Mandy! I love collecting horror blu rays as I will always enjoy the physical media content more than streaming. Guess I am old school having grown up in the 80’s. 👍. Glad you finally got The Exorcist on DVD. My favorite horror movie. I just finished a complete tattoo arm sleeve dedicated solely to The Exorcist so you can say I am a fan of sorts 😉 Hope the new job is going well too. Thanks for the great content!
The Fly 2 is surprisingly good and there are some grisly scenes. I was surprised with how many UK Dvds you snatched from The Second Book and DVD Haul. I don't see a lot of Region 2 Dvds around but they always have unique covers. That is a beautiful Salem's Lot! I love those versions of Dracula and Frankenstein. Whoa what makes that novelization of Alien a 'Special Edition'??? Very cool. Sleepwalkers is so silly and fun. Great video!
I didn’t even realize I had picked up UK dvds - I have no idea what to even look for. And idk what makes the Alien novelization special, but I’ll let you know when I find out 😂
Stephen King was always my favorite… my cousin Myra gave me a paperback copy of Carrie in the mid-1970’s when I was not even double digits yet. Clearly inappropriate reading for me at that age but I was hooked. I am a retired police officer and I always kept my paperback copies of ‘Salem’s Lot and Night Shift in my locker in case I had to sit on a DOA or with a hospitalized prisoner. Great video.
I much preferred The Winter People to The Uninvited, which I didn't like at all. And Trick or Treat Murder was my first Leslie Mieier mystery. I picked it up at a used bookstore too, solely because of the cover 😂. I'm envious of those great thrift stores you have. Our local Goodwill has a very sad book selection.
I wish I had bookstores like yours near me! Loved the video. Also, I too have multiple copies of Frankenstein that I have yet to read. 😂 there are too many cool covers, so when you find one, you HAVE to pick it up!
last time i lied is a killer novel. love the twists. riley sager is a fantastic writer. the other day i found vampire's kiss, panic, and boys from county hell at my local dollar tree.
Really excited that you picked up the Wasp Factory. I honestly can't wait to hear your review of this book. I only found your channel a few weeks ago and I just want you to know that I'm enjoying the content you provide hugely, thank you.
If you haven't already read it, The Wasp Factory is a fantastic read and became my favorite novel of all time. It has horror but it's also a thriller and would make a great movie!
bill paxton and matthew were both hands of god killers, because they watch the footage back and its glitchy. and one thing matthew says is that god will help them blend in and stay invisible.
I love when you're holding up the Chucky 2 DVD, and the Chucky doll behind you turns it head. Really cool special effects.
So many amazing finds! 🤩 The movie 1408 is so fun! Frailty is SO GOOD! Bill Paxton ❤️
So glad you received Salem’s lot! Thanks for the shout out and enjoy!! 😃😃
Thank you for the book!
Be careful when handling that Airmont pb of Dracula. Their books were just glued into an Uber stiff cover which literally POPPED out.😳😺
Oh, how i wanted to have book stores like this where i live...
You scored some awesome books! The Wasp Factory has been on my TBR forever. I need to get to it. Both the hubster and I enjoyed Signs. Great movie.
I’ve heard great things about The Wasp Factory!

Don’t ever give them away!
@@mandysmorgueofhorror definitely going to keep them. Haven't read any in a long time but I bet just like the TV show they hold up as well.
Dark City is so good. I remember going to the theater and seeing it. Also I found the band HIM from that movie.
Loved this vlog!! You have excellent used book store options. I'm terribly jealous haha
My options are too good and I have a problem 😂

Congrats on your new job, hope you're enjoying it so far.
I loved Frailty too. I wish it was a franchise.
Thank you!
I also loved when they used to do the 8 films to die for series. A couple of the ones I remember liking were Unrest and Penny Dreadful.
I remember those ones, too!
I read The Face On The Milk Carton when I was in middle school. I completely forgot about it until now, but I remember liking it.
I'm late to the party, but I like your recommendations lol.
Love Leslie meirer books
Great Haul ! 👏 ...also if you like religious themed horror if you haven't seen Fallen with Denzel Washington I highly recommend!
I used to love that movie! I need to revisit it.
Thinner is awesome and what a great edition of Frankenstein that is. Your thrift stores are so much better than mine in Australia im so jealous!
I’ve been hearing a lot of similar comments from people outside the US. It makes me sad to know you don’t have stores like these!

@@mandysmorgueofhorror oh no! I hope the UK ones play sometimes UK Dvds are region 2 locked so they won't play on US dvd/bluray player.

I love that a lot of us in the horror community were introduced to the genre at a young age lol
@@mandysmorgueofhorror yes, always an inappropriate age!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That bookstore looks amazing! We have a good bookstore cool old building but their hours suck!
Ohhh that’s a bummer!
fangoria also had october horror festival releases too.

I really want to read Leslie Mieier - her books have the cutest covers. So, hopefully I’ll get to this one in the Fall!
Love this vid used to love horror
The Last Time I Lied is my favorite Riley Sager! And I bet it will be yours too! Great haul my friend! 🎃
Ohhh that’s good to hear!
Love, love, love these type of vlogs
Child’s play 2 is my favorite movie I now trust your opinions ❤️
That edition of Frankenstein looks beautiful! I think that would get me to finally read it
Mandy, I always trust your recs! Love your synopses :)
Ahh, that makes me so happy to hear :)

Great vlog. You've just popped up on my suggested, sub'd 😎👍
Yay. Thank you 😊
I just finished the Face On the Milk Carton. It was really good. The movie version is on youtube.
Thanks for the heads up!
Gotta pick up some joe hill. Unless you already have his 6 or 7 books he's got some bangers.
NOS4A2 is one of my favs! I have a few others, but haven’t read yet.
I love Frailty RIP Bill Paxton

I’m so sad he’s gone 😭
@@mandysmorgueofhorror Yeah me to Bill Paxton is a legend he has been in some of the best movies ever made
eek that chucky is so creepy. lol
heres one for you..."Her Suffering" by jon athan...could not put it down
Thanks for the recommendation!
The Wasp Factory is so good!!! A tough read, at times, as an animal abuse sensitive person, but a fabulous book nonetheless.
To add, if you have an axe with a wooden handle without Otis carved in to it then you are not living the horror life right.
Good to know about the animal stuff - thanks for the heads up.
Where is that Used Book Superstore? I'm in New England too, I'd like to check it out
There are actually two locations! Burlington and Middleton.
Wish you were my sister. The biological one LOATHES horror but keeps marrying diabolical husbands. 😃 🎃
