Square Enix don't understand how toxic and lazy they are. Same thing with Naughty Dog and Rockstar. They never will.
Tuned out once you brought up "cancel culture". Rockstar hasn't even released a game since that "controversy".
The actual problem with Rockstar is that they're greedy with microtransactions, they insulted everyone by releasing the GTA "definitive" editions, they insulted our intelligence by releasing RDR1 for Switch/PS4 for $50, and they're taking forever with GTA 6 because they're supporting GTA Online. They already are in hot water and if GTA VI isn't good, they're in major trouble.
I have faith gta 6 will live up to expectations because despite how greedy they have become they still know how to make good games like rdr2. I think the single player will be excellent like it always is but I already know gta 6 online will be full of the same bs gta 5 online is.
I’ve put a lot of time into gta online but I could not even imagine having to start that as a new player it would take so long to get to a point where you have a decent bit of money without buying shark cards it’s pay to win at its finest

Take Two is living the Gordon Geko mantra "Greed is Good" and with that comes laziness and shortcuts to make the most amount of money with the least amount of efforts. Plus the original Rockstar isn't there anymore, everyone from the top down has been replaced or left especially after the Take Two takeover. Rockstar used to be violent, dirty and just funny across all of their releases but they definitely toned it down to appeal to a larger market and to kids who have no business on these types of games in the first place, again for the most profit possible. I hate to see how tame and corporate GTA6 is going to be and I'm definitely not buying RDR for my PS5 I can still pull out my PS3 and get the same if not a little better experience if I feel like playing it again.

The trilogy remasters were outsourced and made by a 3rd party mobile game developer. GTAVI is being made by their own studio, the same devs who made RDR2. They are not going to mess it up like the GTA Trilogy

I'm worried about the future of the company if GTA VI doesn't stick the landing and is anything less than 100% perfection itself. Especially after so long. It makes me feel as if there is just too much riding on that game.
If GTA VI is a dud (unlikely, but possible) then it'll go down alongside the GTA Defective Edition and the RDR "NoT a StRaIgHt PoRt BeCaUsE wE DoNt dO ThAt" not-quite-remaster.
EVERYONE needs to state, they will NOT buy GTA6 when it arrives. do not buy RDR when it arrives this week.. don't reward bad actors.

I’m 25, I remember when my dad (who passed away last year) bought me San Andreas. I was so used to vice city, that at first I didn’t like it. But then I realized I was only in the beginning stages of the game, after that I was hooked. I used to play this game and beat it like 3 times over in a single day.
Young guns and red dead revolver was my gateway. Not to mention all the realistic cap guns I owned as a kid the 90s ruled😅

I respect the point about the remastered trilogy being a buggy mess and not having any modicum of respect for the source material, but I believe that those games were remastered by a different company called grove street games. While they did do an absolute huge disservice to the source material, it wasn't rockstar who did it, they nearly published it, now yes they should have checked what happened with the remaster before putting out a buggy piece of garbage, but that doesn't overrule the masterpieces of games they have put out recently in red dead 2 and GTA 5. I feel this should be more of a criticism of the quality control team at rockstar, as opposed to their team as a whole. GTA and Red dead are unquestionably some of the greatest games of all time working to redefine the industry as not just a screen to put your kids in front of, but an experiense to be enjoyed by all who truly love a beautifully woven and well crafted story. GTA, Red Dead, these legendary titles put out by rockstar stand shoulder to shoulder with other industry defining games such as the last of us, uncharted, and Breath of the wild. I am yet to experience an open world that truly immersed me quite as much as red dead 2 did, and characters as compelling as those in red dead. In my opinion, the developing side of rockstar are among the most tedious, loving and precise craftsman of all time, creating some of the most well developed characters and plots to date, as well as in some cases unbeatable gaming experiences. To throw all of that away due to the shoddy work done by grove street games, seems a bit short sighted. The leaks for the upcoming GTA 6 game look incredibly promising, and I would urge you to reserve such absolute judgments as "The Downfall Of Rockstar Games Is Complete" for a time when the work actually made by rockstar themselves resembles the unpolished piece of garbage that was the remastered trilogy. It also seems that all the remastered and ported games are worked on by an entirely different team and almost always done not in house aka not done by rockstar themselves, rockstars QC department definitely need a wake up call, but please don't generalize them as a whole, as I don't think that rockstars real dev team would ever let something like this slip by them.

If gta 6 does better than gta the definitive edition aka the defective edition I would change is no more tommy vercetti drowning in gta vice city I want tommy to swim in the water that’s exactly what I want to see in gta vice city remake. And skip mission not just radio and weapon wheel was part of gta 5 skip section aka skip mission was also part of gta 5 everytime when you get stuck on a hard mission even though it’s very hard for you. And you’ve tried and tried and tried and retry until you wants to skip it but this time for good . That’s what red dead redemption 2 had there was one mission where I was on a train and I die I retry the mission and die again and then I skip the gameplay because I want to continue the story that’s all what I want to do. And it can definitely happen with Claude speed i definitely want Claude speed swim in a 3d gta world same with tommy vercetti too. No more drowning tommy vercetti and Claude speed in a gta video game I want these characters to swim in a 3d gta video game just like cj does in San Andreas. This is definitely far more better than the definitive edition in my opinion says.

3:32 I think you've got rose tinted glasses, San Andreas had alot of problems, wasnt as detailed and just did way too much and was the embodyment of jack of all trades, master of none
and RDR 2 wasnt that hyped, its still kind of a niche game, and the thing that people were really looking forward to was a flop, the online, like they were doing well for awhile after the lematt update but between the gold, the camp updates
and the professional showing everyone how to grind with no ability to skip days, thus resulting people having streaks of over a year of max gold

while putting the RDR 2 people on who ruined that, now on 5 while the good work on 6
to say nothing of the basic programing errors done with RDR 2's online team put in that ruin the experence, as with no invite only lobbies and everyone programed to be in the same with all the same missions going on in one with everyone else
the programing overloads and nothing loads by definition, hence why we were getting the animal appocalipses and the like, and then finally when no one was in the server it finally loaded
only for the gaming programing to kick in and put people back in the lobby and repeat the issue time and time again,.
and thus we've got half assed content, dripfeed up the wazoo, and gta plus to try and make up for the lack of sharkcard sales just like the gold
also the DE editions, they did that because EA, the company that nearly bought them out, has the rights to the renderware engine, which means even to this day, with that on the market, their paying out a fee to them for it
to say nothing of the music and rights issues, hence why I still have my original coppies and even went out of my way to find one of the old old like new coppies of vice when my old one wore out

They have ONCE CHANCE to redeem themselves. GTA VI. If they fuck this up they are probably not going to recover.
The problem isn't Rockstar Games alone. Sure a huge chunk of this should go to them but there are others to blame as well.
First is us. We as consumers are idiots. We buy call of duty, Fifa, 2k every year like it is some kind of a yearly festival. Also these companies don't enhance anything. Basically selling same game but just re-skinned. Along with that millions of people calling micro-transactions bad but still can't hold their horses when fortnite drops a new skin. As consumers, if we are liking things that aren't good, they will make them no matter what.
Next is competition. After GTA 5, we are in 2023 and still we don't have any game better than GTA 5. Only game we have is Red Dead Redemption 2 which is itself developed by Rockstar Games themselves. Back then when gta 4 came out, some time later we got saints row. It was putting pressure, sleeping dogs came out Chinese gta, Fallout New Vegas ruled then far cry 3 changed the entire narrative and still there were multiple games that gave GTA 4 a tough beating. We need better from competition.
Based on the current scenario, even if rockstar games doesn't release any new games (especially gta 6), they can still live on for like years without any new game and earn millions by just focusing on gta online.

I don't understand how - given all the money they've made off of GTA V - they do these crappy ports no one asked for and manage to fuck up remasters that everyone has been wanting for years (GTA: SA) rather than making new games. I mean I do understand to some extent... GTA 5 Online is the reason they're chilling and not making any new game as they literally don't have to, but honestly it sucks for those of us who find grinding heists online boring af. I just wish they would release some new stuff or at the very least some good story-based DLC (not cosmetic garbage). I don't think there has been any "downfall" as that would imply they lost their popularity, but they certainly have changed for the worse.
It's such a shame. I hope one day my grandchildren's children will enjoy GTA 6.
Gta 6 is their main priority, it will be out before you even have children, just be damn patient, let rockstar cook and put the icing on the cake.

Some points.
1. The GTA Trilogy Remaster was NOT developed by Rockstar and was outsourced to another company. While it absolutely should have been QA tested, overseen, and just all around managed better, ultimately Rockstar just wanted to profit with minimal effort. A greedy move, and a poorly managed one.
2. This RDR port is poorly priced. That's it. There's literally no other reason to have a problem with it.
I think you're more than overreacting. Rockstar has never made a bad game, in fact, every game they've made since GTA III is ground-breaking. A shitty outsourced remaster and a poorly priced port is lightyears from being "the downfall" of Rockstar. Wait until GTA VI comes out, and if it's a piece of shit, then you may proclaim the downfall of Rockstar, but until then you're just generating a mob mentality over nothing.
Rockstar are still better than Square Enix and Naughty Dog. At least Rockstar has good game unlike them.
