Why I bought the FujiFilm X-H2

- I recently bought the Fuji X-H2, a brilliant 40 Mpix camera. In this week's video I thought I would share with you why I bought this camera, as primarily a landscape photographer. Meanwhile I will also be making some brilliant black n' white autumn photographs in the woodland, or at least try.
I want to emphasize that this isn't a complete review for that I encourage you to check out some other UA-cam channels for your review needs. I personally like dpreview. But I do hope this video will give you some insight in how I made the buying decision and it might help you as well.
Enjoy the video!
Love
Oscar
P.S in the video I mentioned I would make a companion blog post, expanding on what I've talked about as well as sharing full resolution images. I'm glad to say I have, you can find that in the link down below.
P.S.S
I often do these companion blog-posts even if I don't always mention it in the video. So make sure to check out the description in my videos if you're interested in that sort of thing.

All of these are fantastic reasons to pick up a camera! And when you get it in hand, and it feels "right," then you know you got it right! I love what I've been reading about the H2. You have a very clear way of expressing yourself in your videos! Well done, my friend!
I've actually almost stoped looking at digital cameras since getting the H2 (wich is new). Well... I still may or may not be constantly checking eBay for digital Hasselblads ;)
Thanks, mate! I appreciate it.
I'm still figuring out the whole UA-cam thing.
It may be too late for you to see but I really appreciate your video and your soothing tone! Makes me want to go out with my XH2 and take it slow, just get immersed in photography! Thank you! I thought of Changing camera, you might have just changed my mind!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Ironically, the H-2 was kinda the camera that made me abandon digital, almost completely. It's the point for me where digital became too good.
But the most important thing is to get out and shoot :)
you are so inspiring. It's a rebirth in my own photography. A revolution after 33 years of photography. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the support!
Great to hear that you're getting back into photography, it's a well worth pursuit :)
@@O.Persson there is always a woman behind that
Just subscribed. Love to find fellow Fuji enthusiasts with a similar passion. Great video and I cant wait to use my Xh2. Should arrive in a few hours! I'm still going to be using my xt4, but I can't wait for the cropping abilities.
Thanks for the support!
I've kinda fallen into the rabbit hole of film photography lately. But when I shoot digital, it's the X-H2 all the way. It's beautiful and I enjoy it tremendously.
My third Fuji - camera, and probably not the last. Hopefully there's a x-pro 4 in the future. And hopefully my wallet will allow me to get one. As I'm a fan of range finder cameras and can't afford a Leica (even though the x-pro is a view finder but still).
Take care and enjoy the X-H2!
C1 on my X-H2 is set to 1:1, Acros, Raw/Heif. It's my main shooting mode. The smoothness of the 40mp XTrans sensor is like large format film. I haven't seen photos this nice in any of the FF cameras I've shot. The video AF is on Sony's level. I sold my A7iv, no need to keep it around anymore. 🙂
Great to hear. I'm going to stick with this and my Hasselblad 2003 fcw, for now. I'm pleased with both cameras 🙂
A very interesting video, I enjoy seeing how other people work and interpret/approach a scene when shooting
You chose a wonderful day for shooting
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I really like my XH-2 it’s like it’s made for me. After 36 years as a photographer finally the perfect camera is here 😊
Great to hear! It's always great to find gear that works for one.
Personally I almost stopped shooting digital since making this video (ironically). However, I still love the x-h2 and it's my favourite digital camera of all time, it's just a great can do it all camera :)
@@O.PerssonI am working on a book about a national park here, and the Fuji is really great for that. All seasons and a lot of nice places, and since it's in Denmark everything is very close to each other 😉
@@Nicozoom1234 What a cool project. And probably a very good tool for that kind of project. Which national park are you making a book about?
I myself actually made a trip to Thy National Park last spring, I loved the place. And I'm thinking of going there again for this spring.
@@O.Perssonits Kongernes Nordsjælland. 👍 I grew up in Helsingør so I know the area very well.
@@Nicozoom1234 how cool. I grew up on the other side of the border in Helsingborg. I've never been to Kongernes though, I might have to take a trip up to Nordsjælland someday :)
Nice video. You have a new subscriber. I personally take much more stills than video, so although X-H2 is great camera i think i will buy X-T5.
Thank you, I appreciate that :)
And the x-t5 looks like a great camera as well, it comes down to personal preferences.
Nice review! it was quite useful!
Thank you for the kind words. Glad you liked it.
@@O.Persson my pleasure!
Talking about autofocus when you're out of focus 😱 great video though.
As it should be 😆
@@O.Persson I thought that was a joke honestly lol
Unintentional, but who doesn't love a bit of irony.
Mad props for still including the clip 😂😂
How well is this camera protected from the adverse effects of the weather?
I don't know the specifics of that.
All I can say is that I don't hesitate to use it in quite bad weather. But than again I use my old Hasselblad in quite bad weather as well, as shown in my last video, wich was filmed using the X-H2 (entitled A roll of Delta 400 - part 2...) :)
@@O.Persson ok. Thank you
XH2 XH2S CANON R7 GOT AND NOW SHOOTING WORLDWIDE WITH OUR LIVE EVENTS REPORTERS....
Was the xh2 used for filming this video? I noticed some focusing issues on your face sometimes
Ohh the irony... I have had one clip where it didn't focus properly, when I talked about the autofocus. Otherwise, it's been pretty much spot on every time. Do remember I'm new to the camera, and I haven't fine-tuned the af-c settings. Is it as good as a Sony? I don't know. Is it more than good enough for me? Yes, very much so.
But yes all clips where the X-h2 isn't in frame where shoot with the X-h2.
@@O.Persson it also doesn’t cost as much as a Sony or their 2000$ lenses haha. I am torn between the xt5 and xh2, I don’t do video and I’m on a xpro 2 right now. I want that form factor grip of the xh2 and I think it’s worth the extra 200$
@@enigmaticreverieproduction5169 True that. I get your dilemma. The X-T5 looks very tempting, I'm still glad I got the X-H2, even though the X-T5 is alot sexier.
Personally I'm hoping to add in a X-E 5 when, and if it's released, and when, and if my bank account have recovered by then ;)
@@enigmaticreverieproduction5169 If you are in for photography specifically the XT-5 is the way to go no question
@@victorkreig6089 but that grip on the xh-2 lol I need that in my life
This camera look perfect apart from that damn side hinged flippy flappy screen. It fine if you want it for selfie’s but for everything else it a burden.
I've gotten used to it.
But I'm incline to agree with you, if your always behind the camera a screen like on the x-h1 is better.
It's not I-S-O. It's just ISO. You pronounce it like EYESO, not EYE-ESS-OH. It's from someone's last name, not an acronym.
Funny thing I pronounce it as ISO in my native language and as I-S-O when I speak English.
Never really thought about it, as I've heard other people pronounce it I-S-O. Of course I had to Google it, and according to the official ISO-homepage:
"ISO is derived from the Greek 'isos', meaning equal".
The Swedish me was right 😆
You learn something new everyday.
And thanks for pointing it out.
ISO is an acronym; International Standards Organisation. It's what came out of ASA and DIN being merged in the 1970's.
@@glasseyalley ISO as in the name for "International Organization for Standardization" is supposed to be pronounced ISO and isn't an acronym, according to their official homepage. I've always assumed it was an acronym, but apparently it isn't. Then again why speel it as ISO if it's not an acronym.
In the end it doesn't matter and I will probably pronounce it as I-S-O and ISO from time and again. Or just switch to using DIN ;)
