Carlos Sainz is the definition of underrated Man performs spectacularly every weekend consistently but always gets overshadowed by other dramatic stuff happening. He has literally never won DOTD in his whole 7 years in F1.
True. I feel like the TV coverage contributes a lot to this. He had some spectacular drives while at Mclaren which most people didn't get to see. I was hoping the story would change in Ferrari but it is just not happening. Mclaren is getting more coverage than ever as well as the Aston Martins.
I mean he was p7 then Leclerc spun, Lando did a whatever he did, Alonso Perez pit too late and lost a million hours. Great strategy and timing to go for the inters, he has the opportunity handed to him but most importantly he was there to take it.
He got mugged at the start and then an atrocious pit stop. A very mature drive that kept the car safe and showed more speed than was apparent in qualifying. Looking positive for Dan.
Got to love Lando's mentality, win it or bin it. A tyre stop may have guaranteed a podium but he desperately wanted that win so gambled. Tough luck mate, you'll have your day.
Such a bad call. The team knew, they should've forced him in especially if Mercedes were doing the same. They would've seen Merc crew get ready in time to call him in. Disappointing from Lando, he only has himself to blame really. But he will learn. 2-3 years he will be fighting for championship.

That wasn't anything to do with strategy or even his driving.. he just got lucky with the rain, I believe he was around 7th place before the rain come.. don't be deluded
Leclerc proved his place in Ferrari in his first race for Ferrari mate. He went from p19 to p4 today before the rain. Plus he got shafted by bad luck many many times this season. Remember Silverstone where he was actually fighting to win. Alonso got to the podium spot with overtake on Perez this was legendary drive But commentators didn't even noticed it..
There were so many things happening at that part of the race. Commentating is not an easy job mate. They will miss stuff here and there.
@@meikokaisuke6142 fair But still doesn't change the fact that Alonso drove briliantly and didn't get enough recognition In this race he was close to getting podium after 7 years.
They have a task to glorify just one driver.
Can you believe they forgot to mention that Max advanced from 20th place to 2nd??
Entire media space is paid to glorify just one driver, and ignore or bash everyone else.
yes also the swiss and austrian commentators didnt even noticed. I saw Alonso was on 3rd place and nobody of them noticed it.
Spanish commentators were narrating the fight for us even though we couldn't watch it lol. Craziest and funniest moment of the race for me.
This race had everything! Thrilling qualifying, a lot of great overtakes, great racing, fightbacks, late rain and a lot of drama. I may be biased, but I’m pretty sure that 2021 Russian Grand Prix will go down to history as one of the best in Turbo-Hybrid Era history, if not one of the best ever!
And I’m not a HAM fan
This whole season will go down as the best in history for this era.
@@JK-ww8dn well, there are a few years left. Let’s hope 2022 will be even better
Also, it was a great race but c'mon, lets not get ahead of ourselves
It was a thriller to be sure
@@timurchelukhin4120 wdym mean there are a few years left? Will the hybrid Era end or something?
The best race I’ve seen in 2021 so far!
Pit crew: Do you want to change your tires?
Lando: Nope
Rain: Bro,
Your race ends here
That was hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
that's what happen when you going gamble.
All the guys who were laughing at Lewis yesterday are crying from their mom's basement right now after seeing Lando skid out. That's karma for you
Not even slightly funny
Not funny bro
Tough call with the weather at the end there, it honestly could've gone either way. If the rain is slightly lighter for 1-2 more laps Lando wins that race and would've looked like a genius for staying out, instead the opposite happened. Verstappen getting second from last place is also noteworthy.
Worst case second place and points. They had about a 50 sec lead over 3rd. Once he slid off the first time. Bring it in and bring it home get these pints and a podium. The team failed him.
Exactly. Also, with the race finish laps away and Lewis in a Merc behind, I think a lot of us would do the same to try to guarantee our first victory.
@@TChalla007 Lando told the team to shut up.
@@TChalla007 keep making excuses for his ignorance it doesn't help.
That is why you can't get ahead of yourself it is still a team sport and the team advised and he refused , i can't believe he did that considering he would have the advantage even to come in after experiencing the car losing grip.
Verstappen and Hamilton did a great job as always!
And it was a heartbreaking result for Lando send all the support! ♥
thanks victor mate enjoy your week

Man i wish i was a fan of F1 back then, could see at least an one race cuz i live nearby Sochi.
Man, Alonso's still got it. Put him in a Merc, Red Bull,or even McLaren and I think he'd be WC again...
Ikr?? I posted some of his overtakes on my channel as we didn't get to see them
@@NavF1 I'm literally just saying the same, like how they didn't put any of Alonso's battles in the rain with Perez, Leclerc and Sainz...
At last somebody who knows what they talking about, I 100% agree with that, Alonso is a great driver 👍
@@lozy497 This is so sad, evertime I watched Alonso pass someone in the rain I was yelling !
@@toronto543ontario6 no I've been watching and a fan since 80's
That first lap looks so much more intense than usual, I don’t know why it just seems so much more like what F1 should be
