In my opinion I'd say GTA four and Burnout Paradise had great graphics for their time and although the remastered graphics for Burnout Paradise are only a little bit better we have to appreciate that they bothered at all to even touch the game

Deny the reality all you want, this is nothing more than just a glorified retail texture pack. It's Electronic Arts we're talking about here, they could've done more to, "Remaster," this game but they clearly haven't.
They should make a remake of Burnout 3 or Revenge, this would be more interesting

Or maybe they could put their efforts in an actual new game ? Remakes are useless, I just completed Burnout 3 again on emulator (2,5k 60fps) and that was as good as my original experience back in 2005. I don't want more of that. Graphics upgrade is a lazy way to capitalize on a dead licence.

Doesn't matter. It's $40 for a game I already own so "for free" doesnt' cut it, and in all reality, it's so good, that it barely looks any different today than the remastered counterpart. And the WORST thing is, this is EA testing the waters with "should we bring Burnout back, now that we've killed off Dead Space, Mass Effect and probably Need for Speed and are in need of a new go-to cash cow". So if this remastered version doesn't sell, we can say good bye to Burnout games in the near future. Brilliant really.

Well, it's a realistic detail because even in real life ads change whenever they need to. It was 2008 when the game first came out but this remaster was 2018 so, time flies and they need to change too.

People need to understand the words "Remaster" and "Remake". Remastered means cleaned up, the same thing just polished up. Remakes are what "Shadow of the Colossus" and Gears Ultimate Edition" are. So when a game is remastered it won't look much different, so before jumping in the comments section talking complete bollocks, learn the basic meaning of the English language.

Not much to Remaster. This game looked incredible back in 2007. I remember buying it at midnight release at GameStop and being immediately hooked. And my god what a soundtrack. Even classical music while you’re idle. Instant online connection. Once they added Day/Night cycle And Motorcycles I knew this game had broken the mold.

i went hours on just colliding into stuff and the takedown gamemode was probably the best

1: There isn't much difference because the difference between a ps3 and a ps4 game isn't very big.
2: It's a remaster, not a remake. They remastered what existed, they didn't remake the whole game.

2. It's a minor face lift for the new console, I don't expect anything major unless it was a remake, which it certainly isn't. There are some improvements but not enough to wow owners of the PS3.
3. In essence, it is a proper remastered with the entire DLCs included, it seems like a BS deal since it's a decade old game, but if no one invested in it then, it's worth it to them now. Again, it won't appeal to PS3 owners of the game.
4. What do you mean 'and'? If it sells well, or it's well received they might continue the franchise and crank out more games, or even remaster old classics like Burnout 3. Which is a game MANY seem to want.

The sad truth is, Burnout is a franchise that probably won't do well in this racing genre anymore. NFS is going straight for plots, regardless of how crappy, and trying to extend their games somehow. Burnout has no plot, no real purpose besides destruction. It doesn't mean it's not a fun game, but older gamers that started with the franchise can honestly get bored quickly after a day or so. I had the initial idea that it would be pretty funny if they change the entire look of it, and make it cartoonic, like Borderlands, and make it chaotic like Rocket League. They definitely need to change something and revamp the entire franchise if they want it to survive.

They can make it with a new engine and keep the same mechanics. But if they did change it it'll just be like NFS and frankly thats boring by comparison.

The rooftop comparison at 2:40 was great. Remastered seems to have lost what looks like moss or grime on the ramps, especially the right hand one. Very nicely done. Even the waterfall comparison is amazing. See you in Paradise.

I agree with you on many levels if your opinion, but it mostly exists to have Burnout on your current gen system. Plus this has element of all the Burnout games. Not a bad title to choose.

Burnout Paradise was a "rather big" part of my childhood. I might still have a copy of it for my PS3, however it doesn't work. I don't really remember much from the game so getting the remastered version would be nice

for half of the price you can buy ultimate box, get mods and you'll get remastered edition for only 20 bucks

I heard from Digital Foundry it was more than just a port, but, it seems that way here. It seems to have just a bump in resolution, but, even look at a car here and a car in a current game. It's sad improvements seem to be slowing down.
4K won't make things better. . . next gen will be disappointing because of it. I'd bet it'd be little more than current games, but in 4K, because that bump in power just to get that resolution is taking away from the money they'll put into other components. If they kept it HD it would be so much better, we could actually have that horse power going into even better games.

I played the original Burnout Paradise on my Uncle’s PlayStation 3 as well as my Dad’s PlayStation 3,when Remastered came out I played it on my Xbox One and completed it,I’m now playing Burnout Paradise remastered on the Nintendo Switch I got for Christmas
the most notable difference is the adds and billboards , i never noticed that paradise city had a waterfall
Why’d they remaster? It already looked beautiful and ahead of its time. The main thing I found was the sky and the lighting was improved
The roads and tarmac are more detailed as well. Shadows doesn't have obvious jagged edges anymore.
Because they had to do the smallest amount of work for the biggest payout, and they needed to see if the burnout IP is still interesting to the public.
And some interesting looking of the remastered version is when you get under the tunnel, it's darker.

I have over 500 hours in Burnout Paradise for PS3 and about 50 for Burnout Paradise on PS4 and I must say, I actually prefer the lighting on the original version. Not to mention it's less buggy, it has better looking ads on the billboards, two more songs, and a few more cars (the sponsor cars you could get back in 2008)
Edit: I also forgot to mention that the vehicle sprites that you see when choosing a car at the junk yard are all messed up in the remaster.
This is why Renderware was an engine that way ahead of its time.
I still remember that RenderWare is still being used in todays market, Its surprising how RenderWare are still relevent dispite its age

I'm glad to be able to play this amazing game again, I had it on PS3 and loved it. But lost my PS3 in a housefire and don't have a desire to find one and rebuild that collection again. Therefore I will gladly take this remastered version.

Literally not even a re-texture... The game has increased Contrast, reflections, and sharper quality THATS IT. You can record PS3 gameplay and edit it on Sony Vegas, and it will look exactly the same. That is just sad.
They could of remastered this with potential. This is not a remaster, it is literally just a port over.
The real remastered for PC comes later that year, then you have your much better graphics. I'm kidding. But honest here: The Remastered (2018) for consoles looks EXACTLY like the Original (2008) for PC on Ultra graphics.

Think it like this: they wanted to port the game to newer gen consoles and modify the game only a bit to let it run on new consoles.
It's a game of 2008 that people liked and they ported it on new gen consoles but they couldn't use the same coding so they made new textures but not modify the game.
(And let's be honest: it doesn't need a graphical change because it still looks new)

All seriousness though, hardly any diffrences in the graphics other than darker shadows. The same can be said in gameplay from what I seen from people who got it early. Can't wait to get it.

IMO, remastered versions should include completely overhauled and updated graphics. An easy cash cow for EA because I can barely notice any difference. Such a shame this great game wasn’t given the effort to remaster it deserved.

This was my absolute favorite Burnout by far and if we can't have a new Burnout, I'll gladly accept Burnout Paradise Remastered! It's preloaded on my PS4 and ready to go!
The 2018 Burnoout Paradise remastered version on consoles is basically the 2009 Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box on High Settings on the PC.

The laziest remaster ever. Looks like they spent a week “remastering” this.
The main problem with BPR is that the game is bloated and filled with textures that are 4k for no reason and they practically threw all the textures into an ai upscale and called it a day, not to mention the fact that bpr is a pretty broken mess that modders had to fix. It's not a bad game in the slightest, but it should've been handled better.
I'll put it this way, yeah the graphics are hardly changed, but after playing over 900 hours of this on my PS3 in 720p, it was pretty wild to see the game run at 4K on my Xbox One X
Paradise visually is effectively unchanged and I fucking love that. It feels almost nostalgic playing it now. Awesome game.

right now it's half price at origin, (3/8/2019) for a week about $10 US get it! if you're on PC and have had it in the past, it has lots of stuff never before realeased on PC
