I love how the end, when Ransome chose the prop knife connects back to Harlan saying that Ransome doesn’t know the difference between a prop and a real knife.
Twentyfirst centurytrollers Chekhov’s Gun played perfectly
It's the bit after when he realized it was a fake knife & says "Shit!" that had me laughing. Mainly because at the back of my mind all I could hear was Captain America saying "LANGUAGE!" 😂
Yeah when he said that it made me think he faked his death with a fake knife.
Twentyfirst centurytrollers that was perfect
Oh my god I thought of the exact same thing
The whole donut hole in the donut hole conversation was gold
I laughed when he said something alongs the lines of, "A donut that is not whole!!"
Daniel Craig surprised me with his comedic delivery in this movie.
The ending is very well explained, and it is also hilarious thanks to daniel craig.
LMFAO
i still had no idea what he was talking about. all i can imagine is a donut hole but then he also talks way way too fast about it
can someone explain it?
Who else LOVED THE ABSOLUTE POWER MOVE OF MARTA DRINKING THE COFFEE ON THE BALCONY AT THE END OF THE MOVIE!
Favorite fucking scene lol
*My house. My rules. My coffee.*
Thing is lawyers representing the family would soon descend upon her like vultures, regardless of the convoluted murder not murder thing, since it would be argued that she did not keep a proper professional distance and had undue influence on the decision or exercised an abuse of her position, and before you say she would kick their asses with the massive amount she inherited think again since that money would most likely be kept in some manner of holding until the dust settles, you would also have to convince a judge that she gag's/vomits upon lying (/hearing a lie). her power move right at the end could quite easily be used as evidence against her to cost her the inheritance since it was most likely photographed. (gotta love how the legal system is f#cked right? in general housekeepers and nurses are not allowed to receive anything through inheritance to remove any unprofessional temptations)

I'm pretty sure that she choose to not help the family because at the end when she sips the "My house, My rules, My coffee" mug she is covering the rules and coffee ones with her fingers only showing "My house" so i think that was intentional and that she isn't going to let them live there.
king corson cult no duh.
Lmao no shit, sherlock

The amazing thing about this movie is it did story telling without words a lot. The cup that was Harlan’s and then Marta’s. The prop knife. The missing Molotov jar, the characters sitting in front of the knife ring at select angles. The dogs and their reaction to each character, the blank letter. They were all telling stories without words. And that’s my favourite thing about movies. Man I want to be half as good of a director as this guy one day.
And to work with this talented cast? I’m swooning.
Every point was really good with only a handful of slow spots that are honestly needed to allow the viewer to catch up on what’s happened. You can figure out the real killer pretty quickly, at least I did just from his proper intro, but it’s not until the ending that all the pieces come together. I’m a huge sucker for the detective telling a whole story and revealing the killer too.
i would remember the last jedi and reconsider wanting to be anything like this guy at all. also because he's a self hating white guilt soy boy
It was amazing film with great acting, decoration, characters and humors.
But sadly it was strongly predictable about who is the bad guy unlike famous Hercule Poirot stories.
Putting that aside, Rian Johnson still did a great job with Knives Out. Can't you give him credit for that?
@@jazzycat8917 lol good one. Yup because I think a movie is shit (because it is) has to do with red pill or what ever. Brain dead liberal identitarian.

I had a feeling it was Ransom early on in the film. Dogs were the biggest giveaway. The dogs barked that night and Ransom was the only member of the family the dogs didn’t like. When the girl was trying to cover up her muddy footprints and the dogs ran up to her, they didn’t bark.
I at first thought maybe it could have been Ransom but during the film he seemed so genuine about how he hates his family and wants to stick it to them, only for it to be revealed just how cunning he is and he was the true mastermind this whole time. I was mindblown
@@cacartoonstudios Or was it actually Marta? She could easily tell the meds apart during the "Big Reveal" at the end, but somehow couldn't tell on the night of Harlan's death? That's either a plot hole or a twist.
@@Heroshand I guess that's the debate. If her instincts and knowledge were so strong that she instinctively gave him the right meds, why would the labels matter at that time or later. Also, how did Hugh have the time to kidnap and overdose Fran? If he gave her enough to overdose her, she would have been dead long before marta got there. If he didn't, she would have lived. There is a serious time gap issue there. Still a fun movie, but it has some plot holes.
@@TangoNevada hugh always got a time to do or think what he has to do . We are more focus on main scene of the story that we forgot that a villain like him is scheming and executing his plans. better harlan mightve done it to protect marta from the slayer rule, still pretty sad tho 😭
@@k3_1k0w7 Harlan could have wrote a suicide note saying he injected himself or walk down the stairs to tell people he caused the overdose himself then Marta would avoid the Slayer Rule. Harlan also somehow allegedly overlooked he didn't have any of the symptoms from the overdose Marta said he would have after 5minutes. Maybe Harlan was always secretly suicidal and wanted to be an attention whore in his suicide? According to Marta, Harlan did call himself stupid, so maybe Harlan was an idiot? Maybe Marta is just a bad nurse for also overlooking Harlan not having any of the overdose symptoms? Or maybe Marta cut his throat and lied about her alibi and her puking condition?
He didn't die for nothing. He needed to be sure she was worthy enough to inherit his estate before his family. She didn't just get it for nothing either. Her suffering was needed for the ultimate conclusion.
I honestly thought that at the end it was gonna be Marta and she was screwing with us the whole time.
Ya, that would be a real twist.
They gave us enough hints that it was Marta. As Daniel Craig is talking about the "donut" analogy, you can clearly see Marta's car having a donut tire. Also when Craig says that it's someone who needs the money because they're desperate, they show Marta's face clearly foreshadowing but they never reveal it. Also, we never understand how Marta got that blood spot on her shoes when she never got in touch with Harlan when he had slit his throat. There's more but those were the obvious clues. I think Daniel Craig's character was in on it.
Omar Chaudhry I agree with you. It was Marta who murdered Harlan. But she murdered him because it was his will. She also had a love relationship with Chris Evans’ character, this is why the Craig’s line ends with “...find your love”. The camera shows Evans face as Craig says this line. Harlan, Martha and Evans made the mysterious trilogy of the movie.
@@pgilhiga I did feel like they were in on it. Cause they won't be able to prove that ransom did anything wrong. And why was ransom smiling at Marta before he entered the cop car.

Chris Evans in a cable knit sweater. That’s it.
One of the things I think was so interesting was that the trailers definitely seemed to be pointing towards a basic murder mystery, but then then you got to watch the death around the 30 minute mark and your just like...
“Wait what?”
“quite rich” he didnt realise 100k was missing in his bank 4 years in a row and they mentioned 60m at the will
Sounds quite rich to me.
I believe you may have hit upon the idea of Comedic Understatement.
People with a more "Dry" humor tend to use comedic understatement more than hyperbole.
Chill Bro.
He probably got the 60 mil from book sales
60m in cash and assets at the time of death is what they said. Plus the book company which could have made millions every year. Therefore its possible not to notice if he has 60m just laying around plus whatever book company makes
My favourite bit of visual storytelling in this movie is Ransom's white cable-knit sweater. Made of wool. Dude's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Knives Out is very straightforward but the amount of tiny details dispersed throughout makes it worth coming back to it again and again. Genius shit.
And it was frayed at the collar and cuff. Costuming did due diligence for the director's intent.
Honestly, I love the fact that most of the film wasn't a mystery, instead drawing tension from what you don't know, drawing it from what you DO know.

I got the feeling that by letting everyone leave while standing over them at the end, that she had decided not to help them in anyway. At least that’s what I took from it.
Yup, bcause "that's what Harlan wanted" as conflicted as she was about the whole ordeal, she obviously wanted to respect his final wishes in the end
I would say Meg is the exception since she promised to help with her college tuition.
@@ktienne1977 honestly she would back stabbed her since she hunged Marta up.
Meg’s course isn’t important it’s a degree relating to social justice which isn’t gonna her her a good career or help her in the long run, she was clearly only doing it so she could manipulate minorities, she acts all nice to Marta and corrects people when they’re being insensitive but when Marta could possibly end up being richer and better than she is her reaction is “Y’know I think my family needs that money more than you”
@@mrcritical6751 Yup. Her degree is not only financially useless, but it's not even in something low-paid but helpful like social work that she could use to help disadvantaged people. So what's the point of letting her finish it? Plus she ratted out Marta's mom in order to get the money.
You obviously missed the fact that Joni's husband died.
And that Joni’s Husband is the middle son of Harlan
I missed that as well, thanks. Somewhat expains her disposition.
Yeah, Joni is the widow of Neil, who died 15 years before the film

The husband of Toni Collette is Dead, not just separated
He didn't say "separated" actually
MrRin213 he says she’s not part of the family anymore because they’re not together. I don’t know how else you would describe “separated” in that context. You don’t stop being part of a family when your spouse dies
I think a large part of the plot/social commentary that wasn't mentioned in this video is that Marta's mother is undocumented. This is the reason Harlan refuses to allow her to call the ambulance, as even if was an accidental death she would still be looked into (tho the family would more likely go after her with lawyers as purposeful, especially when the will would be read). And this is ultimately what the family tries to hold over her head to regain their money. So it's not only out of love that Harlan does this for Marta, but for her and her family's safety.
The real mystery about this movie is that we still don't know where Marta is from.
The IMDB trivia suggests she's American, because she said only her mother is illegal

it says early in the movie that she is from paraguay and later on ransom’s father says that she is from uruguay

I know it wasn't a huge plot point, but I am sad you didnt mention the outcome of Jamie Lee Curtis's storyline. I meant first of all she was certainly the least awful in the family, she truly loved her father not just for his money, because she made her own. She was the most independent out of everyone and she truly didn't need his money to survive, I think she just wanted the house, her childhood home. I think she came to terms with everything by the end, especially after finding the note her father left her about her husband cheating on her. The note her husband thought was blank, not knowing of the little game she and her dad played.

I love the fact that Benoit knew she had something to do with the murder from the beginning (he saw that she had Harlan’s blood on her shoes when they first met) and kept her around because she was the one person he trusted. Like he said to her, “You have a kind heart”.
Also, Benoit suspecting Ransom from the beginning because “the dogs are the best judge of character”. They barked at Ransom despite knowing him, but never at anyone else, including the cops. The movie had enough details to get an idea of suspicion, but not enough for you to figure it out until the end. I hope they make a series. One of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen
This was such a good film
Im a little hesitant to comment with this bc I usually dont find myself in this position, but I just got out of Knives Out last night and I?? took away v different things vis a vis the socioeconomic and political aspects of the movie.
The whole scene with them talking politics was added in to show that theyre not all Conservatives. Rian was pretty clear in adding the different political views into the film to either throw people off and pick a side early subconsciously but also establish that these are people whom those politics will never effect. The way I took it, Rian is less talking about the actual politics, but the fact that this family, regardless of political views, are all extremely priviledged and thats ultimately what theyre going to protect. Thats why the ones who were nicest to Marta were the ones shown really twisting in that blade when the will thing happened.
The same thing with Ransom, Rian wanted us to trust that Ransom wouldnt have a motive in it because hes saying the things the general audience is saying. "Fuck this Family". Ultimately his betrayal is the most poignant example of this because we dont know his political views, hed always been out to protect his own, and thats why Marta, a poor nurse from an undocumented family is a foil to them. They have everything and flaunt it and dont want to lose that control over what they think is. theirs.
And hey listen, its still a valid point that "rich people suck" is not a new take, but I think ignoring the fact that Rian is gaming the largest majority of people who are gonna see his stuff, aka us white people shouldnt be just boiled down to conservatives vs everyone else.
i personally found the whole movie compelling and the while the twist itself maybe wasnt the REVELATION OF THE CENTURY i was still interested in how everything was going to tie together. ive watched and read so many murder mysteries, this felt new and made me feel like I was experiencing the genre again for the first time.
Admittedly, I havent watched the entirety of this video, mostly because of the fact that I enjoyed it quite a bit and Ive learned, ironically since TLJ lmao, to generally not engage too much of myself into Film Discourse. But I digress, i like your channel a lot and hope that this comment is at least semiproductive.
I very much agree with what you said, when I watched it I just thought the story was based around priviledged family members with people on both side of the political spectrum, their political views arn't the point, there are assholes on on the left and right and that was captured in this fictional family. As for the 'Rich people suck' thing, I kinda feel that is somewhat inevitable for most classic 'who dunnit?' stories (even if this film shifts gears storywise, it still has elements of a 'who dunnit') These stories tend to be set in cool mansions with atmospheric fireplaces, hallways, secret passages and all that stuff.....and well.....rich people are realistically more likely to have something like that (compared to poorer people anyways) and because these stories set themselves up so that any (or at least many) of the characters could had done the crime, the audience needs to believe they are capable of doing so......so many of them are going to be either deeply flawed or complete assholes ('And then there were none' by Agatha Christie is a good example of this) Obviously not all 'Who dunnit' stories are like that, but I tend to find more often than not the requirements of the genre will push towards a 'Rich people suck' tone to some degree
@@Toungecat same here, the family has different political views. The only commonality is their sugar patriarch. Except for his mother who was a brilliant mum of unknown age 😂
I agree, though I think some people may be downplaying one important part in your post.
It's not that "there are bad people on both sides," but that the family is so wealthy that they are removed from even their own political orientations. They're just taking positions for the hell of it, putting on ideologies as dress up. At the end of the day, their wealth insulates them from having to care.

It bothers me that no reviewer I've seen talking about this movie has given Don Johnson any love. It's almost like Miami Vice wasn't the biggest thing to ever air on television at one point.
Sometimes Skill is a Curse for actors... after Miami Vice being the juggernaut it was, and then getting 6 seasons out of Nash Bridges a decade later, that he didn't become a Film 'Leading man' surprises many to say nothing of the ability to disappear into supporting roles like he did here...
If Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t in a thriller or horror movie, it’s not a thriller/horror movie.
sooo what exactly have you been smoking ...to state this movie has two standout performances and completely overlook Ana de Armas.. who is in almost every scene and does most of the heavy lifting in this movie....
What breaks movies like these is, is that the "twist" is given to the most predictable actors.
I mean, the biggest actors there are Daniel Craig and Chris Evans. You already know there's a twist since it's a murder mystery movie... so you kind of expect the twist to involve either Daniel or Chris.
It's also the reason why movies with unlimited and VERY LIMITED budgets are amazing (yes, no in-between), it's because you don't really know who gets to stay or who goes.
I mean, imagine a movie with Samuel Jackson and a bunch of small actors, you already fucking know who dies last.
However, if everyone is a small actor, you really don't know the order of who dies, or who's the traitor etc. Same thing goes with movies with unlimited budgets, they can afford to have a "cameo" of some sort, where famous actor shows up once, and instantly gets deleted.
Umm, have you ever seen Deep Blue Sea?
I would co-sign if not for Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon and Don Johnson
I thought Toni Collette and Jamie Lee Curtis were the most famous???
yes, daniel and chris are the well known actors as of now, but jamie lee curtis, don johnson and toni collette have been acting in different things for ages as well. they seem to have good, well-known actors from different times. for example, my dad remembers when don johnson was super famous, and jaden martell and katherine langford are rising stars from "it" and "13 reasons why." and even ana de armas is known for her role in "bladerunner," plus she's going to be a bond girl in the next james bond movie.
?????? Oke....
I expected Marta to turn around at some point reveling the whole plan to frame Ransom, etc to collect everything!
The best trick the devil ever played was convincing the world he didn't exist...
This movie was just so good and intresting; I always love a good old who dunnit but the twists and concepts of this movie made it so unique and entertaining to watch!
Here are my favorite things from the movie:
The running gag of Harlan's mother not knowing or being aware of what's going on.
The coffee mug: MY HOUSE, MY RULES, MY COFFEE.
Blanc's donut theory.
Joanie’s husband DIED. You’re misleading by saying they aren’t together they aren’t divorced or separated
haha yeah i thought that too...also when he said "so its simply about the money and convenience for her" ummm why wouldn't you stay close with your dead husbands and daughters family lol
Claire B likeni have an aunt like this too, my uncle died and she has two kids with him and they’re al still part of our family
@@claireb5262 i think it just depends on the family. Clearly the family in this movie was pretty terrible. So I'm sure she's sticking around for the money not b/c she likes them or they like her. But in an everyday real life family I'm sure people do actually want to keep in touch with people they consider still family.
@@claireb5262 As in her daughters have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma, grandpa etc on the father's side, who they don't see?
Why wouldn't you remain close to the family & involve them in your children's lives? It seems awfully selfish not to.
Well the family is awfully selfish and so is she, all she wanted was to leech off of the family and get all the money she wanted
My man FoundFlix saving me in the hour of need with another video. What a guy!
And 2 hours from going out to see a movie!
I knew Chris Evans was the villain. A cute guy with muscles and blonde hair and blue eyes and is known as a hero can't be trusted..
PS not all blonde hair blue eyed people are evil.
Yet they're draemy af
How about Nazi?
I'm a cute guy with muscles and blonde hair 😲

I thought this was a thrilling, twisting tale that kept me guessing. Daniel Craig’s Southern accent bothered me a bit though, it didn’t feel very authentic.
he really did sound like Foghorn Leghorn.
Louisa Coote When I first saw him I knew it was Daniel Craig because of the face, then he spoke and I asked myself “did I say the wrong person”. He made me question if it was really him throughout the film
@@sherryscooter242 I died laughing when Chris Evans roasted him for it. He said "CSI KFC"😂
I think that was the whole point, the accent was supposed to be satirical
I completely disagree. The subversion and twist is what set this movie apart from other mysteries. Otherwise it would've been a carbon copy of Clue.
@Roy G Biv yup youre obv very much relaxed lol
@Roy G Biv wasn't he referring to the star wars films? because that one was crap
Chris Evans was actually super good in this movie!!! I was worried I’d be distracted bc he’s such a famous actor but he fit into the role very well and really became the character. Same goes for every actor and actress in the movie, I was sooo into it and honestly forgot just how many famous people were in it
this is my new favorite movie, i love the genre, the cast, the script, the cinematography, the sound design, the call backs, the literally everything i love it all so much
The camera, cast, plot, twist, literally EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. 100/10
Watched this movie this afternoon though it was kinda long I definitely enjoyed it especially CSI KFC
Finger lickin good
Detective Bond
I love the Paranorman t-shirt !
when ransom leaped on top of Marta to try to kill her was kinda..weirdly hot to be completely honest
Yeah
yes i was hoping that.....something was going to happen there.
idk he was covered in vomit kinda a mood killer :D
Cameron L 😂😂
Cameron L Only if I can vomit on u
Honestly casting chris evans a man who has been playing the moral paragon for years as the villain is such a good move, it really works so well to cast him against type
No mention of actual goddess Ana De Armas when talking about the cast *cries*
LikeUhVillain she truly carried the whole movie
Mistake- Jody, GOOP like owner is a widow, her husband was Harlan’s son.

I think I maybe am just looking too "under the skin" but some of the visual ques and ending make me think it was all dominoes set up by Marta. Like when she played that game with Harlan she was always one step ahead of him, and it shows how she's better than Ransom too, almost two steps ahead of him. She wins out in the end the money and company, the fame. She's the only character that couldn't lie, which I guess could be a subversion. And at the scene were she cries on the stairs she sobs momentarily before more or less stopping, and she has a cold calculating look on her face. Then at the end scene, the knives on the wire wheel form a donut, but it's not Ransom that's at its centre. It's Marta.... 🤔
Also she was the only sole person who knew everyone's secrets, all the angles. And I may be wrong but when Benoit talked about the rainbow mumbo jumbo and how it was a book, she replied "I haven't read that one". So she's a frequent reader? Maybe a frequent reader of murder mysteries? Maybe Benoit's reliance on a dog's sense of character is misplaced. Give a dog a bone and it'll love you no matter how black your heart is... Just a theory 🤔
I think you are right.
ransom couldnt kill fran. morphine need only10minute. but after9:30 ransom didnt have a time to meet fran. if fran was killed by martha, that copy report could be fake also.
This is probably the first movie I have seen before watching a ending explained on it
"Chris Evans the most good boy ever."
*Remembers banana* O///O
Until Marvel thats all i ever knew him from.
* not another teen movie *
any role he's done before captain america.
You guys must be young as fuck, because Chris Evans have definitely played roles before Captain American. He has played bad or douchey guys before like in "Scott Pilgrim vs the World" or "Not Another Teen Movie"
Mmmm banana I bet it smells so good
When they're all looking back at the end I would be out front flipping two fingers.
Nah looking down on them whilst drinking a cup saying “my house” is enough, just shows Marta is better than all of them and that he has what they didn’t deserve in the first place
Just watched this movie for the first time. Great movie, great cast. Love the ending of Marta at the balcony with her mug saying “My house” power move!
went to the theaters to see this and i loved it
"twist explained"
Which one?
Ransoms whole thing with changing the medication
Me: I should go to sleep I have class at 8.
FoundFlix: N O
Yes you should, this video will still be here waiting for you, your class will not.
Hmmm... What about all of the talk about Marta being the only person who can beat Harlan at Go? Unlike Ransom? What about her holding the "My House" cup at the end. I got the impression she had much more to do with what happened than we're left to believe.
Alright here’s my theory. Marta was actually the mastermind behind all of the acts in this movie, she is the only one that really interacts with Harlan. In the flashbacks we see that she would be the one that influences Harlan’s decisions towards family members. She has already been displayed to be much smarter than believed, by beating the grandpa in GO every time so she clearly has strong thinking skills. She also mentions in the beginning that she wins because she isn’t playing to beat him but to build a beautiful pattern, to play things in her own way which is turning the game around and to have them in her own terms. The other person who could beat harlan was ransom however it was stated that Marta has won more times than ransom has which indicates Marta is smarter. Marta knew the differences between the vials and applies the correct medication because she didn’t want any traces back to her for the murder so she convinces Harlan to kill himself so she has no association with his death other than being witness to it. The reason the grandma refers to Marta as Ransom is because they both were playing the game to kill Harlan. Marta planned for ransom to legit give cause for EVERY family member to kill him but nothing points to her. At the end she looks at ransom as he is put away and they both glare at eachother because he knows that he lost her game. She stands at the top holding the mug to symbolise that she is above all, she was the true central point of the “doughnut hole” and that she now owns it all. So in short she masterminded the plan to trick Harlan into pissing off the whole family and give them cause to kill him, then put her in his will and have ransom the only other person shown to have a high IQ to take the bait and commit the murder. At the very beginning it’s when the show is being watched by the sister, she claims that she’s so close to seeing the end and is reluctant to stop watching however ends up stopping watching the show claiming she already knows who the killer is. So she claims to know who the killer is but doesn’t know how it will end, similar to the spot with Marta. The detective claims to know who the killer was with his big speech and such however MAYBE he wasn’t entirely correct. Notice how this show really lives to emphasise 2. 2 mins left of the show, 2 dogs, 2 main suspects (Marta ransom), 2 cops, 2 doughnut holes. The detective was so eager to end the investigation that he simply missed the 2 and in this case was the other “killer”.
She didn’t know about the changed will. She says she had no idea about the will and didn’t throw up.
@@ATP980 or perhaps we didn't see her throw up? The same way she was able to cover up lies to Blanc by throwing up away from his attentions, she may have told more lies than we were led to believe
Thanks for getting this video out so quickly, the cast alone was enough to get me excited for this. It’s a shame it’s caught the “subversion of expectations for subversion’s sake” bug from GoT.
Bowman Wright - It wasn’t for subversion’s sake.
Had to leave the theater before Marta came back to the house. I really needed this. Thanks for your service
Why did you leave?
I also have a HUGE problem with a detective who has just stopped and arrested a murder suspect from fleeing the scene of a crime related to said murder, allowing one of those suspects to 1) drive the very same vehicle she drove the other suspect in 2) “make a stop” on the way to the police station and 3) LEAVE HIS SIGHT WHILE HE LISTENS TO MUSIC WITH HEADPHONES! Unless he is in on the scam or something, this behavior is utterly irresponsible and inexcusable for a professional. If she WAS guilty-which at this point she at least believed she was and the real toxicology report WAS at the meeting with Fran, she would have been able to destroy it and return to the car without even a HINT of suspicion from the detective. He would have aided the murder due to pure neglect and naivety! It’s a ridiculous scene! I would rather have had her come up with some clever way to evade one of his partners than have had the LEAD DETECTIVE behave so sloppily. OR if you’re going to agree to stop, FOLLOW YOUR MURDER SUSPECT! Just lazy writing.
I love this movie. The ending was awesome I loved how it circled back around to what Harlan said about how he saw so much of himself in Ransom and the whole thing about not being able to tell the difference between a real knife and a stage prop but for me what really wrapped it up nice and tight was Harlan’s coffee mug at the very start of the movie we saw Fran filling it up and in the end we see Marta holding it and I think that cup is her answer to the family my house my rules my coffee. She’s going to do what Harlan wanted because like he said it really would be the best thing for them all.
Interesting...a review breakdown on this channel of a non-horror movie.
This I’d like to see more of!
I strongly agree!
thats not really what the movie said though. the movie said does jab at conservatives, but also jabs at liberals who are selfish. The film is saying that kindness is the answer, generosity will come through
I've been holding off on watching this video before I actually watched the movie (rare for me ) so I had no idea what to expect. I'm so glad I watched it because it was absolutely amazing! The cast was great and the overall idea of the movie. During the car chase scene, it was filmed in a town i grew up in! So cool to see the little town I love on the big screen.
Is it just me, or did Harlan come up with Marta’s alibi in like a minute 30 seconds, when he (supposedly) had like 3 minutes to live? Damn dude, talk about thinking on the fly
Meme Machine i have a theory that he planned the whole thing the minute he changed his will one week prior to his death. Isn’t it strange that he just changed his will? Maybe it was bc of the injury he just felt like he wasn’t going to last for much longer and wanted to control how he was going to go.
Isn’t it also strange that he only tells Ransom about his will? And that whole speech about knowing his grandson so well...makes me think he intentionally told Ransom and only Ransom, knowing that he would storm off and plan something sinister against him and Marta. Harlan had at least one week to brainstorm all the possible moves and countermoves (like a game of Go if you will) in anticipation. He knows Ransom will pick knives and throw them, and he’s hoping Ransom chooses the ones that will lose the “game” since he can’t tell the difference between real knives and props. While he also says that Marta and Ransom are able to beat him at Go, I find it strange that it is Harlan who is best at anticipating everyone else’s moves. So I say, he lets people beat him at Go, a board game with no real stakes. But in actual life where there are real stakes, Harlan always wins :)
This post is getting a little long so I’ll stop but anyone who’s interested should definitely look more into the game of Go. The way Go is used as a metaphor is similar to how mahjong was used in Crazy Rich Asians, just not as obvious I guess.
