Her being realistically pissed off when you give away large sums of the CAMP’S money, and wasting time helping idiots who can’t help themselves, made it so funny
Morrigan found a small mirror when she was a child, but Flemeth forbade Morrigan to play with such vain trinkets. and cast it away. The Hero can give a mirror to Morrigan as a gift in Origins. Later Morrigan Hid in a Eluvian ( mirror ) from Flemeth. IRONY
Sweetroll Thief I thought that maybe you would like something else that may have been forgotten. In Lothering, Leliana dreamt of a darkness that consumed everything while she stood on a peak, and watched. And when the darkness consumed the last of the light, The darkness then drew her in and consumed her. Leliana awoke, and whent outside where she saw a single beautiful rose that had bloomed on a dead bush. Leliana advocated this as a vision. I remember not believing her in DAO. But this is clearly a vision of Temple of Sacred Ashes blowing up. the Inquisitor is the rose in the dead bush..
matt richard Damn, I thought that dream, or vision, she had was about the Blight! Turns out it actually about the third game, Inquistition. Neat details.
matt richard that's interesting but you are seriously reaching there. There is absolutely no way the writers knew where they were going with the third game while writing the first.
BeautyisJustAMask ... Hmm.. Agree, Beauty is within. But if your mask look like Liara T'soni then that is a beautiful mask. I believe you are referring to Leliana's dream .. Okay, so I like to reach.. but it's still a good hypothesis, right? .. no? .. Darn. : (
I like Morrigan personally. She's damaged from her childhood, and has a hard time understanding 'humans' like when she comments about 'humans touching all the time' (handshakes, hugs...ect). I think she's selfish because that's what she was taught. If you end up with her and have kerian, those two are the only people she loves in the whole world. I think she's misunderstood. But that's just me!! 😁
When you know in DAO it was completely different. Flemeth is not such a loving mother, if we consider that, she raises her daughters and then performs some ritual to "possess" them and not die of old age ... The fact remains that her life has changed after having a child. She finally understood what it means to love unconditionally. If you think about what it says in DAO about love: "Morrigan: Let me tell you one thing, and then let us speak of it no more. Love is a weakness. Love is a cancer that grows inside and makes one do foolish things. Love is death. The love you dream of is something that would be more important to one than anything, even life. I know no such love. " - Party Banter with Leliana ...
I don't know Morrigan very well. I haven't played DAO in many years, and back when I was a teenager, I hated her personality so I ignored her character. As an adult now, who has learned she has also experienced childhood trauma at the hands of bad parents, I completely understand and sympathize with her. I plan to replay DAO to get to know her better. I loved her in DAI and would love to know her more! In short, I'm in complete agreement! I only wish I had been more patient as a teenager, to have experienced the entirety of the game back then. Oh, well!
I always assumed when Kieran says 'Why would your people choose to look like that' That he's refering to Dalish tattoos, which when you romance Solas you find out are Slave marks...... I think the boy is confused why the Dalish would be proud of them.
Could be wrong, but I think Kieran's comment about Lavellan's people "wanting to look like that" is in reference to Dalish vallaslin, since their original meaning was revealed by Solas and in Trespasser.
FMJ IRISH Could be. The vallaslin was just what my mind went to because it's still their choice today, ya know? But that's a good thought. To be honest, I had always assumed their physical change was like an evolution over time after the veil was created.
FMJ IRISH Oooooh that's a very interesting theory. Hadn't thought about it like that. But yeah, they hinted multiple times that qunari were the result of some kind of experiment. I can't really remember hints about the elves being physically changd, though. Other than the ghosts in Tresspaser being like twice as big. Maybe I missed something?
There's hints that Solas used to be a spirit before being bound into the form of an elf. If all elves (or all sentient creatures) started as spirits who chose to take physical forms, that might explain "choosing to look like that." We know it's possible, as Cole has become human himself. And we know many spirits want to be human and interact with the physical world, as that's how demons are supposedly formed. Before the creation of the Veil, I think that instead of becoming demons many spirits became elves. (Or were bound into the form of elves. Or dwarves/rock wraiths, if bound by the Titans.) And now, with the Veil, they risk becoming demons because the transition is so difficult and painful. Though I can't say that last part with any certainty - it just makes a certain sense.
I came to the comments specifically to check if someone pointed out that Kieran may have been referring to the vallaslin, since that's what I assumed when he met my Lavellan. I still think that's the case, personally. To quickly address one thing FMJ IRISH referenced with the qunari and Kieran saying "blood not their own" I immediately thought of when iron bull tells the Inquisitor that some qunari believe the tamassran may have intermingled dragon blood in their breeding. So I assumed that was what kieran was referring to. This probably hasn't been confirmed or anything and I certainly haven't done any research on it, but there is at least precedent for dragon blood being possibly inherited by descendants because of the Therins, and the fact that it's hinted in Until We Sleep that the Magister is after Therin blood because of the dragons.
Sort of? The height of the elven empire pre-dates the veil so there was no separation between the physical world and the Fade, at least not for Elves. In fact, it seems that their capital existed wholly within the fade.
Solas, elvhen for "Pride", was a pride demon who got bound into the form of an elf against his will, and that's my theory on that. Also my theory is that demons were rarer before the Veil, since "wanting to be part of the material world" is a demon's defining feature, and they probably had an easier time pulling a Cole back then.
Well Solas does state they were mortals once and the title gods primarily due to their growth of power overtime. There’s nothing that specifically hints or refer the original elven race as actual deities or spirits. However it has bin proven a mortal can become a god or godlike creature. Corypheus is one of these. Once a mortal human than received the same or similar power of an archedemon essentially a god. Which also surprises, Solas. He had many names and it isn’t clarified or stated Solas is he’s original name. But one thing is certain a demon he is not nor a spirit. But very plausible he could’ve received a spirit somewhere some time in his lifetime.
Well, the possibility that Alistair and Morrigan might be half brothers, and can have a child together might be a reference to the legend of King Arthur and the witch Morgana, since you have two future kings (Arthur and Alistair) having a child with their half sister, who also happens to be a sorceress (Morgana/Morrigan) even their initials match.
Morrigan is actually a reference to an Irish war and death goddess known as the morrigan who was also a shape shifter who sometimes took on the form of a crow
Morrigan is by far, my favorite companion from DA:O. WHen she popped up in DA:I, I bout had a heart attack. I will admit, I was a little disappointed when she it was revealed that she would not be a companion. Next to Sandle, I find Morrigan to as big of mystery, if not a little moreso. Thank you for sharing this little bit about her.
About the comic, Gaider actually said that it represented Morrigan's struggle with the ritual - when Alistair is romanced by female Warden. Like, she struggles with the idea of asking her best friend do ritual with her beloved.
about the yellow eyes, you forgot the werewolves in DAO who have yellow eyes after you freed them which is why I believe they have something to do with nature or beast and not Mythal
Stalker747 alf it might be again elven interference. It could be that the lady of the forest was a facet of Mythal. Since she was motherly, and caring. But also ruthless
If they mess with my characters wife, and child, my warden doesn't matter if he cares the title of HOF or not. Will bring hell on earth to those who hurt her, on his son!
I am very impressed that bioware could take the basics of the character and even her name from the morrigan of celtic paganism and mythology and yet make her fit so well in the lore of dragon age. She doesn't feel at all like a deity from something else just plopped in dragon age.
Morrigan is the inheritor of mythals essence. The elves built their bodies from the Titans and were given form. The qunari have dragon blood, I guess against there will?. The Titans are how the drawves used to be connected to magic and able to grow and change.
Morrigan is my favorite female character in all gaming! She has such an intriguing and deep personality, motivations and dept! That being said, I nearly died when you said you linked the comic. Thank you so much for that! I've seen a fanmade video of it though I lost it long ago.
Meh, never did like Solas. Looks like a damn egg in legs. Let me posit a personal theory about the qunari. The kossith drunk the blood of dragons long ago. This gave them draconic horns and made them extremely aggressive. They were so violent that they formed the Qun to keep from destroying themselves. There are ties between qunari and dragons all over Inquisition. Iron Bulls specialization is Reaver which involves imbibing dragon blood.
Yea, i didn’t like him either, but learning what he really is made him much more interesting. Seems like i would like the grey wolf, and perhaps his new personality is him trying to be the opposite of what he once was.
Morrigan(Queen of Ghosts/Spirits)is the name of a Celtic goddess of Fertility, Sexuality, War and Death, picking up the souls of fallen warriors with her ravens and crows, guiding them to the afterlife. Seeing her washing the armour of a warrior before the fight is said to be a death omen. She is a Túatha Dé Danann, a Goddess of Motherhood and can turn into a crow or raven or she-wolf herself. So... heavily influenced I suspect. Also modern witches call upon her for guidance and her, her holidays are Mabon(21st of September) and Samhain(31st of October) and Yule(winter solstice),these festivals are tight locked with the gods descends into the underworld, to be reborn.
I love Morrigan, when I play as a female character and she calls me her sister i always get emotional. If i play as a male character I always romance her. I just wish I could have followed her through the eluvian even without romancing her but having the Queen of Ferelden disappear with the Witch of the Wilds would cause Havoc.
One of my favorite characters from the DA series. I tell you, the first time playing DAO, I was crushed when she dumped my Warden. I went back and back trying different saves etc trying to figure out what I did. Took me awhile to figure out that it was part of the story mechanism. But still, It was painful to me. That is when I realized how great the game was.
Morrigan is my most dearest treasured character and saddens my heart I can not continue my first and long lasting relationship with her. Every time I play dragon age and she is not with me it feels like the game is missing something. Her snarky sarcasm and cute resistance to be nice is just so adorable. Even seeing her matured in Inquisition just makes me love her more. I guess what I'm getting at is I really appreciate this character insight. I love everything about Morrigan and can't wait to see what lies for her. The timing is perfect since with the hopefully success of Anthem (regardless if we want it or not) We should see more news on Dragon Age 4.
Thank you! Someone else who notices the dress! Imagine the two briefly chatting at the ball and Leliana either smuggly or grumpily bringing up the dress!
I feel like one of the main reasons why I like Morrigan so much is because I understand her pain and awkwardness very well, grew up with an abusive, unloving family and never knew unconditional love, it took me 4 years to finally be okay with my boyfriend kissing me and 2 years for me to be okay with hugging him. He's a wonderful person, just I've been hurt by my own family and even past relationships so I can't really process positive things well.
😂 Thanks Ghil for that scarring thought of Alistair/Morrigan incest. With that being said I like how if Morrigan learns to become a dragon her draconic form looks very similar to those that breathe lightning which might be a call back to her use of the element in the Sacred Ashes Trailer. As for the elves choosing what to look like I would dare say that it must be linked to Flemeth/Mythal's and Morrigan's ability to shapeshift and possibly The Forbidden ones abandoning their physical forms assuming it was originally Elven and if Solas truly was a spirit and took on his current shape...and hopefully if he can turn into that giant black wolf.
Ahh! So Im not the only one who thinks Sir Dread Wolffy is a spirit. I think that the Evanuris where all spirits. As where the Forbidden Ones. The Evanuris evolved to more complex spirits, like spirit of Justice, spirit of Vengeance, or The Great protector ( Mythal ). The Forbidden Ones remained in a more simple form, like Pride, Faith.. I think that spirit's can accumulate power with special elven artifacts, like the ones we energized true Southern Thedas ( the wards are working ).. We have actually helped Solas gain his power back.
Dalton Matthew I'm intrigued of your theory .. But I think that the elves are a very old race who revealed spirits as gods or something as such.. In Jaws of Hakkon we learned that Avvar have a similar belief. The Avvar have a very spiritual relationship with spirits.. And the eyes, have you noticed the eyes that solas has painted in the round room, looking down from the sky. The Avvar have all kind of eye drawings in their houses. I think that eyes represents spirits.
Was Kieran's comment about elves choosing what they look like a nod to the theory that elves were originally spirits that crossed over into physical form creating the elves?
One of the most interesting characters. I wonder about the yellow eyes too. So many more questions with Kieran and the lore and the reality of the da universe. DA keeps sucking me in more
candlesandcarnage: that actually makes things slower trying to beat Dragon Age inquisition in 2 hours, which is impossible especially on easy mode. you would think putting the game on easy would be a breeze, but trust me i've played the game a few times on different settings. i've beat the game 3 times on normal, once on hard mode, and once on easy. so im pretty familiar with those 3. the enemies you fight are pretty much the same between easy and normal, but there are a few changes. on normal everything plays out exactly as it should, the money you make and the experience you gain from defeating enemies and demons is pretty good. on easy however, you level up alot slower, and it takes awhile to rack up any kind of money to buy new weapons and armor. so your better off playing on normal, unless your somebody that has the patience for grinding. because if you just wanna play the story and not do any side quests, which is fine, you'll have no choice but to go to some of these other places. because if your not within the recommended level to do the main storyline quest, your gonna be pretty underpowered. the first time i beat inquisition on normal including a few side quests i did in different places, cause your not gonna know were everything is the first time you play. but i was a level 23, then i tried the game on easy. that's when i noticed how slow it is it takes to level up, by the time i got to the end boss i was only a level 20. that was going to more places than i did the first time around. after all that grinding, i went back to normal mode and never looked back lol. the highest level i've ever gotten on easy mode was level 22, the highest i've ever gotten on normal is 27. that doesn't even include the Tresspasser dlc or the Jaws of Hakkon dlc.
@Alex Grey ya it does, I take it you might not have noticed it. I didn't notice it first time either, but trust me after playing it multiple times play the first 4 hours on easy and then the same on normal, and you'll see the difference. you get more random drops, slightly more xp. and you said you got 27 on casual, well I'd imagine you had to of been doing alot of grinding. I got level 27 before doing the final stages and missions. you know those big trolls, you get alot of experience beating those things on normal.
I know, right? I always romanced her. And come to think of it, I always romance Yen in the Witcher...I guess I like strong, sarcastic women with jet-black hair.
I love your videos so much. I wish I had a bunch of people I could discuss Dragon Age with. I usually have a hard time shutting up whenever anyone gets me started on the topic hahaha.
I literally finished my very first complete Playthru of acquisition yesterday, and the first thing I thought when you started talking about what she did in the 10 years between the end of origins and inquisition, is she became absolutely stupidly beautiful
I like to imagine Morrigan and Kieran met up with my Dailish Warden and she goes in on what happened while she was in the Inquisition and he gets floored learning his mother in law is one of the elven gods XD
Morrighan'nan is a half-dwarven woman, she has a son, Kieran is a mage with visions/unexplained knowledge, Sandal's true parentage isn't known and he too has unexplained knowledge of magical runes despite being a dwarf. Kieran is Sandal somehow is my theory. Kieran ran off like Sandal was prone to do, he talks of the Titans, which I think affected Sandal turning him from Kieran to the Sandal we know, because Titans cause them to forget the flow of time and maybe it even causes time travel? Flemeth was the old woman Sandal saw with the evil laugh. Morrigan was trying to protect her son from Flemeth.
As always I enjoy your videos. It reminds me of some points or things that happen that I may have forgotten. 84 logged play through of DA:O, 31 on DA:2 and 19 on DA:I. I have to say my favorite romance as a male is Morrigan and Cassandra. As a female definitely Alistair and Solas. Though i did enjoy riding the bull, lol. I ALSO WANTED VARRIC! Best bro-mance aside from garrus. Sadly I can't bring myself to romance dorian and sera...ah I will never experience those 2. Also I enjoyed your take on anders in the podcasts. I still feel like anders would not have chosen to allow justice inside or be bi-sexual in the same regard due to a few statements in awakening. But he doesn't annoy me as much anymore.
I always assumed that Flemeth is not the original Flemeth from the stories, but rather that it was a name or title which had been passed on each time one Flemeth grows old and passes the fragment of Mythal on to her "daughter," and this was why Morrigan assumed that she was going to be possessed. She misinterpreted the grimoire as her mother extending her own life via a hostile act rather than the actuality where it was a passing of the torch when the time was ripe, and the apprentice accepting the (benevolent?) spirit willingly, much like Anders did with Justice.
okay but- BUT what if your main character in do4 is a witch of the wilds that is either avenging their mother or fighting against her power solas stole or SOMETHING BADASS LIKE THAT
By the way kieran talks as an old god child, it makes me figure two things. First off, the fine details as an elf leave questions. Some wonder if his remark has to due with the valasin (for sure spelled that wrong!) On one skin, or if u have none and thats his line, then perhaps the actual body of elves is what he is referring too. Secondly, the way that line is formated makes me think that the old gods of tevinter are their own story. Perhaps not the elven god tie is simply our speculation and not gonna play out at all that way.
Forgive me if I'm repeating something yoy said in the video, I havent seen it in a long while, but I just played through the OGB/inquisitor drinks well playthrough. Flemeth gave Morrigan the choice of letting her take Kieran and never hear from her again or keep Kieran but never be safe again. When Morrigan said "I will not be the mother you were to me", you can see pain cross flemeths face. Then, she just took the OGB soul, told Morrigan she was never in danger, and left. Kieran had a destiny, a fate, as the OGB. Did flemeth hear Morrigan's desperation/pain and reconsider? Did flemeth finally make a choice JUST for Morrigan's benefit and take on whatever fate the OGB had, in order to spare Morrigan more pain? Was her last act with her daughter one specifically FOR her daughter? Did she finally make a decent decision as a mother herself?
Great video! Thanks. :) I assumed the "why your people (elves) want to look like that" remark from Kieran was regarding the vallaslin (face tattoos/ Blood Writing).
I really hope we will be able to choose to play as other main characters from other dragon age charaters in the last game with the other followers. Would be soo good to play as the Hero of Ferelden with Morrigan and Kieran in our side with Hawk or other followers if they are alive during the time. :D
well.. Alistair and Morrigan being sister and brother actually makes sense cause Morrigan is based on Morgana, and the developers are fans of Arthurian history it seems..
Just realized something kieran had said about the elves. Ogb says he doesn't understand why the elven people would want to look like that. Could this imply the elven people are able to change their appearance as they see fit? Or if he is talking about the valasin (I have no idea if I spelled that right), does that mean the old God knows they were once slaves and no longer are and that is why he says this? He doesn't understand why they would wear slave markings when they aren't a slave. And the markings were probably also a way for the higher up elves to make fun of them and ridicule the elves that are slaves
Way late to the party, but here's my theory for one of the Old God comments: The 'I don't know why elves choose to look like that' is a reference to elves and spirits being the same thing (or rather, two ends of the same spectrum, with movement between them). That's how the evanuris can be both elves and spirits (and also why there seems to be divine pairings of a more elven and a more spiritual pair). It's also how Solas can be both and elf and a supernatural wolf (with comments like 'this is all I've ever been' during Trespasser being put in to throw people off the scent, as the nature of elves hasn't changed...just something Solas did has broken that ability). We've seen that spirits can become humans in Cole (which is my current guess for how all of the mortal races came to be, save for dwarves). Elves just used to be able to move freely between spirit and physical. It's also a way to unify all of the different pantheons of Evanuris, Forgotten Ones, Forbidden Ones, Avar Gods, Old Gods etc. They're all spirits of one form or another, just different groups of people chose different spirits to worship, and became enemies of others. Oh, and the guess for Qunari having other people's blood running through their veins is a reference to the scaled ones and their blood magic. Perhaps they are scaled ones, or products of the same blood magical process that they used.
Flemeth loves morrigan if you look at their meet up in the fade. She is hurt when morrigan denounces her. And i believe she was telling the truth that she cannot TAKE her body. I think the previous daughters gave their body
She wasnt trying to be a bad mother she was doing what she was thinking was right. Based off of what she experienced. Maybe her other daughters joined her like mythal did becoming one. No more removed than "your heart from your chest".
She is always testing her daughter trying to teach her life lessons. And the whole time she wasnt going to take the boy after the meet up in the fade morrigan said so also.
Had to info dump even though this was like 4 years ago lmao. On Kieran's talk about Qunari, it actually makes sense lore wise. From the blood to him feeling bad about what happened to their people. Let me explain. About the blood: Bull does say something about the beings before modern day Qunari. That they were different from Qunari we see in the games. For Kieran saying he feels bad for what happened to Adaar's people, bull also explains, that while no one really knows why, the Qunari before Qunari had to leave their homeland and come to Thedas. I find it interesting how we know nothing about Qunari, but Kieran gives us reason to believe something pretty bad (maybe having to do with the fall of ancient Arlathan??) happened to the Qunari that made them move, and possibly even biological change from how they were originally.
Man I love these it helps me see the differences and things I'm curious but there so scattered not sure how to look for them!! Glad I stumbled upon your videos over been binge watching them XD That also said this video REALLY has ne dying for da4, like I was wanting but not bothered about waiting but now I'm gonna go crazy XD
When Flemeth says I never meant to harm you and that you cannot force his soul on the unwilling, makes me feel like she was just a bad mom sue to the angry god Spirit
Eyes: Mythal was the goddess of the sky... turns into a dragon. So, my thought is that they eyes are like eagle 🦅 eyes (sky theme). Also, what color are dragon eyes in Dragon Age games?
[SPOILERS FOR TRESPASSERS] At least something can be deciphered about Kieran’s comments: When talking about “why would you choose to look like that” he is talking about the “slave” markings on elves’ faces.
She is based on the morrigan from Celtic mythology. Meaning she may merge with her three sisters and be soldified by mythall. And possibly be the one to defeat solas and the elven God's.
Since this was a valentine's video, I'll say Morrigan was always my romance choice. She's smart, magical, sarcastic, and has just lovely jet-black hair and sexy eyes. Sort of like Yennefer from the Witcher 3....I always romance her, too. I guess I have a thing for strong sarcastic women with jet-black hair, sexy eyes and pale skin who wield magic. Huh.
I wish you could do one about Cullen! I used to hate him a lot in DAO and DA2, but DAI Cullen make me realise how far he have come and grow as a character and honestly, it confuse me now, in the fact that i don't hate him anymore! so, just a thought!
when Morrigan is telling Flemeth that she will NOT be the mother flemeth was to her [morrigan], I like to think that the ‘real’ flemeth took over for a few seconds and that’s why she looked saddened, then Mythal took over again and was back to her cunning self.
Super late but since Alistair has dragon blood, therefore Morrigan and Alistair may be half-siblings like the old tale of King Arthur and Morrigan where they have a child together. That could explain why it's easier for Morrigan to transform into a dragon similar to Flemeth. I also believe Flemeth has always been testing Morrigan throughout her life to see if she's worthy of having the essence of Mythal. Even, Morrigan's sister, Yavana said "it's a gift". The moment Flemeth probably realizes Morrigan is meant to have Mythal is when she says she'll take Kieran and Morrigan immediately refuses "I am many things, but I will not be the mother you were to me." At this moment you can clearly see the hurt look Flemeth has. Since she is the goddess of motherhood. Morrigan always wanted power to get away from Flemeth, to be safe from her whereas her sister wanted it for selfish reasons. It's clear that she was always better suited, Morrigan is kind despite everything and shown to be a good Mother(it fits the description of Mythal of love, kindness and mother) therefore was always meant to have this essence of Mythal for the new age. I'm guessing the New age is what Solas will bring.
I love how Kieran says "she's the witch of the wilds! =)" with such... Pride and joy? I mean, I would also be happy if my mother was a powerful witch who can beat anyone's ass haha
WOW Swiss guy, very nice!!! That was a nice gift. The Alistair / Morrigan incest comment makes me think of Game of Thrones. Dragon Lady and John Snow are now lovers, and 1/2 brother sister. Yech!!!
Daenerys is Jon Snow's aunt, which is still incestuous, but Cersei Lannister and Jamie Lannister are the ones that are siblings (twins) who have a incestuous relationship. Both are still incestuous though.
I am very curious now with the new game coming out with Solas called "Dread Wolf". Will Solas be a villain? If this is the case was he always a villain, but in disguise? Or will the new game be about Solas because he plays a major part to the story, but a new villain will appear due to Solas actions in the new game? So many questions! unanswered!! I like Solas character I hope he doesn't turn out to be a bad guy.
I'm bloody interested in TITANS. What? Dwarfs had titans. Where the hell are there. And I hope that isn't just another word for the golems. I want titans damit.
helebarda344 you could learn more about the Titans in one of the DLCs for DAI . It's name is "the descent " and it talks about the history of the dwarves.
OKAY what if Kieran's comment about the elves choosing to look like that is a reference to the theory of elves originally being spirits who took a form and that's why they were immortal but as the veil was put up whatever elves were in the fade stayed as spirits and whatever wasn't in the fade became mortal elves. Kieran is confused why they chose the elven form over the spirit one because maybe the Old God wasn't aware of the veil or something along those lines...possibly
What if instead of Morrigan, Yavana was created when Maric and Flemeth were together in the hutt? From my understanding, Yavana is older than Morrigan and she could probably be 30+ maybe 40 when Alistair, Varric, and Isabella show up at Yavana's cave. I mean as you said, Alistair/Morrigan having Kieran would be incestuous then. Bioware hasn't really pulled a Lannister dilemma, yet.
No, it wouldn't be possible- There are mentions of Yavanna dating back to the Exalted Age (about 400 years before DAO), So that wouldn't be possible. But like I mentioned, we do find out what happens in that hut from Yavanna in the comics, and there was no mention of Maric being used sexually by Flemeth.
Claudia Black's Morrigan was what made Dragon Age Origin so great.
Her being realistically pissed off when you give away large sums of the CAMP’S money, and wasting time helping idiots who can’t help themselves, made it so funny
just that?
Morrigan found a small mirror when she was a child, but Flemeth forbade Morrigan to play with such vain trinkets. and cast it away. The Hero can give a mirror to Morrigan as a gift in Origins.
Later Morrigan Hid in a Eluvian ( mirror ) from Flemeth. IRONY

Oh, well!
So is it safe to say that Morrigan fans who romanced her, we all fell for a goddess?
Fell so hard I bounced,...3 times!
Well... She is a Celtic Goddess...
Nick White duhhh she stole my heart like she stole the mirror 🤧🤧🤧, made me fall so hard I bounced three times
I always assumed when Kieran says 'Why would your people choose to look like that' That he's refering to Dalish tattoos, which when you romance Solas you find out are Slave marks......
I think the boy is confused why the Dalish would be proud of them.
does the dialogue change if solas removes the marks?
FMJ IRISH Good point
There's hints that Solas used to be a spirit before being bound into the form of an elf. If all elves (or all sentient creatures) started as spirits who chose to take physical forms, that might explain "choosing to look like that."
We know it's possible, as Cole has become human himself.
I still believe elves are spirits who chose to take physical form, so they "chose to look like that".
But very plausible he could’ve received a spirit somewhere some time in his lifetime.
or he’s talking about vallaslin
Or he is talking about the markings on the elf’s face
Well, the possibility that Alistair and Morrigan might be half brothers, and can have a child together might be a reference to the legend of King Arthur and the witch Morgana, since you have two future kings (Arthur and Alistair) having a child with their half sister, who also happens to be a sorceress (Morgana/Morrigan) even their initials match.
I think you mean half sibli siblings, and how would Alistair and Morrigan be related? What leads you to this thought?🤔🤔🤔🤔Just curious to know.
Cailey Randolph It was mentioned in the video... And yes, I don't really see the difference between being siblings and half siblings.
MoonChild 🤔 must have skimmed past it🤷♀️
YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND YOU ARE RIGHT!
Morrigan is actually a reference to an Irish war and death goddess known as the morrigan who was also a shape shifter who sometimes took on the form of a crow
Morrigan is love Morrigan is life
Morrigan is by far, my favorite companion from DA:O. WHen she popped up in DA:I, I bout had a heart attack. I will admit, I was a little disappointed when she it was revealed that she would not be a companion. Next to Sandle, I find Morrigan to as big of mystery, if not a little moreso.
Thank you for sharing this little bit about her.
Morrigan for top 10 best video game characters
She's great!
F yeah!!!
That would fit with Mythal's shapeshifting, which may be an ability passed onto Abelas.
Most of the lore is almost a direct rip of of Tolkiens work lol
@@OrphanCrippler1 your talking about tom bombadil's wife? Or the lady of lothlorian?
Bio should hire you to voice all the lore in their games. I'd even get to actually know ANYTHING in the codex hehe.
Morrigan is my favourite dragon age character. I really like her character, and lore within all games.
Seems like i would like the grey wolf, and perhaps his new personality is him trying to be the opposite of what he once was.
this is such a late reply but bull mentions that there’s a legend that they mated? with dragons that possibly led to their horns
Good vid. Just wanted to make sure I knew everything about my wife.
We have actually helped Solas gain his power back.
matt richard I have a theory that the elves and spirits were one in the at some point.
Set The Evil the incest reminds me of how they’ve said that they draw inspiration from a song of fire and ice sooooo maybeee
"But as I have already done a video on Solas" That killed me XD
One of the most interesting characters. I wonder about the yellow eyes too. So many more questions with Kieran and the lore and the reality of the da universe. DA keeps sucking me in more
How on earth do you speed playthrough DAI in 2 hours to get to the Morrigan plot point? How?
NicAlba easy mode new game plus & no side quests
And maybe some no-clip, but you didn't hear that from me.
console commands?
candlesandcarnage: that actually makes things slower trying to beat Dragon Age inquisition in 2 hours, which is impossible especially on easy mode. you would think putting the game on easy would be a breeze, but trust me i've played the game a few times on different settings. i've beat the game 3 times on normal, once on hard mode, and once on easy. so im pretty familiar with those 3. the enemies you fight are pretty much the same between easy and normal, but there are a few changes. on normal everything plays out exactly as it should, the money you make and the experience you gain from defeating enemies and demons is pretty good. on easy however, you level up alot slower, and it takes awhile to rack up any kind of money to buy new weapons and armor. so your better off playing on normal, unless your somebody that has the patience for grinding. because if you just wanna play the story and not do any side quests, which is fine, you'll have no choice but to go to some of these other places. because if your not within the recommended level to do the main storyline quest, your gonna be pretty underpowered. the first time i beat inquisition on normal including a few side quests i did in different places, cause your not gonna know were everything is the first time you play. but i was a level 23, then i tried the game on easy. that's when i noticed how slow it is it takes to level up, by the time i got to the end boss i was only a level 20. that was going to more places than i did the first time around. after all that grinding, i went back to normal mode and never looked back lol. the highest level i've ever gotten on easy mode was level 22, the highest i've ever gotten on normal is 27. that doesn't even include the Tresspasser dlc or the Jaws of Hakkon dlc.
Morrigan is an incredibly interesting character, I love these videos, keep it up!
Morrigan ❤️ should replay origins..
I know, right? I always romanced her. And come to think of it, I always romance Yen in the Witcher...I guess I like strong, sarcastic women with jet-black hair.
There is so much love in this game series. I love how excited everyone ozzes about it, including me.
I love your videos so much. I wish I had a bunch of people I could discuss Dragon Age with. I usually have a hard time shutting up whenever anyone gets me started on the topic hahaha.
omm I love Morrigan so much, the best romance option in the series in my opinion...I need the Warden and her back in the next game 😭
I literally finished my very first complete Playthru of acquisition yesterday, and the first thing I thought when you started talking about what she did in the 10 years between the end of origins and inquisition, is she became absolutely stupidly beautiful
Powerful and tragic is a potent combination. I couldn't resist her.
I always remember when romancing Morrigan, she plays coy and if you play dumb she gets angry lol. My favourite quote is 'Get in the tent woman' lmao.
I like to imagine Morrigan and Kieran met up with my Dailish Warden and she goes in on what happened while she was in the Inquisition and he gets floored learning his mother in law is one of the elven gods XD
Holy shit. Props to your friend! :D and thank you for covering one of my favourite characters! I love her 😍
Morrighan'nan is a half-dwarven woman, she has a son, Kieran is a mage with visions/unexplained knowledge, Sandal's true parentage isn't known and he too has unexplained knowledge of magical runes despite being a dwarf.
Iuno doesn't explain scandals existence before kierans conception
I would love a video on Kieran. I could help you with it if you're strapped for ideas.
0:47 LOL Nice!
okay but- BUT what if your main character in do4 is a witch of the wilds that is either avenging their mother or fighting against her power solas stole or SOMETHING BADASS LIKE THAT
By the way kieran talks as an old god child, it makes me figure two things.
Morrigan is legit my favorite romance in DAO
I really hope we will be able to choose to play as other main characters from other dragon age charaters in the last game with the other followers. Would be soo good to play as the Hero of Ferelden with Morrigan and Kieran in our side with Hawk or other followers if they are alive during the time. :D
well.. Alistair and Morrigan being sister and brother actually makes sense cause Morrigan is based on Morgana, and the developers are fans of Arthurian history it seems..
Great vid, just had to subscribe. On another note:Always MorriganAlways Isabella Always Cassandra
Roger Norris you’d be correct if the last one was Josephine lol
I gotta agree with Kieran, that mustache was pretty scary lmao
Bye the maker a youtube without a dislike. Morrigan sure is popular. All praise Sandals. ENCHANTMENT!
Love her
Morrigan is one of my favorite romances
Lulu called, she wants her belts back.
Way late to the party, but here's my theory for one of the Old God comments:
The 'I don't know why elves choose to look like that' is a reference to elves and spirits being the same thing (or rather, two ends of the same spectrum, with movement between them).
20:37 is that FluffyNinjaLlama's Lavellan?
Not exactly, she was made by Swissfamilyronminson. But they do look similar!
I’ve been waiting for this one🤗 Ma serannas!!!
Great vid. The comics are great, and the artists gallery is worth a visit..
Thank you for putting in so much work!
You have a beautiful voice :-)
MAYBE THEY ALL JUST TAKE ON THE NAME FLEMETH AFTER THEY JOIN WITH THE PREVIOUS PERSON HOLDING THE TITLE.
Glad I stumbled upon your videos over been binge watching them XD
That also said this video REALLY has ne dying for da4, like I was wanting but not bothered about waiting but now I'm gonna go crazy XD
Like Transformers?? Lol doubt it. Yavana being killed by Alistair kinda confirmed it
Since this was a valentine's video, I'll say Morrigan was always my romance choice. Huh.
Excellent research!
Imma say it. Kieran is adorable
The opening gave me goosebumps
I wish you could do one about Cullen!
I used to hate him a lot in DAO and DA2, but DAI Cullen make me realise how far he have come and grow as a character and honestly, it confuse me now, in the fact that i don't hate him anymore!
so, just a thought!
23:27 OH NO THEY'VE BEEN 'NORTED
when Morrigan is telling Flemeth that she will NOT be the mother flemeth was to her [morrigan], I like to think that the ‘real’ flemeth took over for a few seconds and that’s why she looked saddened, then Mythal took over again and was back to her cunning self.
OGB Kieran encounters freaked me out
The tale of tryda bright axe involving morigan is a nod to the tale of cu chulain from Irish mythology
I never even had the kid in game when I played.
I’ve always thought Yellow Eyes are for strong mages. I think the default eye color for Hawks is Yellow Eyes. I don’t remember Bethany.
Don’t know about male Hawke (I would assume they’re the same) but fem Hawke’s default eyes are bright blue.
I had to look- but it's brown! Granted, the default texture make them look orangey, they are supposed to be brown for Male Hawke!
I always did default female Hawke. Bright blue eyes.
Both are still incestuous though.
ever notice that magic in the story is alot more varied and powerful then in the actual gameplay
I can't believe it became possible to play as the monopoly guy.
I love her.
Hahaha, love the joke at the beginning.
How is no one talking about "I noticed your blood. It doesn't belong to your people." HUH? I beg your best, most shiny pardon tiny child?
they do act like brother and sister
I'm on my 4th play through and I've never even seen Morrigan's son!
I hope you're talking about the warden killing urthemiel and not that he will have to kill Kieran
Ahhh .. Lol the rabbit hole opens again . i finally got over d.a. 😭 . now i need my d.a. fix 😬
