Why can't I leave a comment on your videos anymore? I wanted to ask about the protein in NZ lamb. I recently bought my wee dog kangaroo biscuits.
Counting calories keep me accountable and I have incorporated intermittent fasting.
My goal is to eat healthier.
100% agree. I was hoping someone expands on this a bit more and glad I found a video! I used to follow the mainstream advice eating smaller but more frequent meals a day. And it didn't work for me. I usually have a bigger appetite than most others and when I start eating I eat a lot and can't stop. So when I'd calorie count while eating comfort foods (carb heavy) and reached my calorie limit for the day, I'd have to starve myself that day or some other day of that week just to keep fit.
Gave keto a try for 2-3 weeks and that was enough time to see results. Would eat 1.5 meals a day (1 small meal where I'd have a few low carb fruits + other stuff and then I'd workout to use those carbs up instantly. Post workout I'd have a massive high fat, high protein meal - usually eggs + butter & meat/ chicken/ fish cooked in olive/ coconut oil. Didn't track calories too strictly, used a bunch of electrolytes and kept roughly 19 hr fasts.
- Cravings went away/ didn't have to starve myself. Felt sharp & energetic throughout the day.
- Was able to fit into a trouser I hadn't worn for 5 years
- Experienced more muscle growth than I ever had
- Skin cleared up
In America servings are too large!!
they are but it's because the govt told everyone it's because fat in food is bad. but fat in food is satieting so u don't get hungry. so if u have meals high I'm carbs u will be hungrier and want to eat more. so they made portions bigger to match that. so people were getting more and more of what they didn't need, empty carbohydrate calories
I find that calorie counting works, but it's really hard work. I think intermittent fasting is mentally slightly easier.
I am so glad that I found you! You are answering many of my questions and giving excellent advice. I have been struggling with a bit of weight gain eating a nutrient dense diet but needed more understanding with the insulin resistance and iodine. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge.

Counting calories work for me but I did improve my fat lost with all your video on insuline resistance. Great video ty. I wonder how people who are vegetarian can deal with fat lost. It look hard with out heating meat. This could be a great subject.

Great video, this is why I’ve been watching you for many years. Regarding food nutrition labels being misreported by 20%. For people trying to lose weight and are tracking their calories, I think it would be better to add 20% to every food when tracking calories, and in regards to what you eat, carbs should be heavily reduced to near 0 it’s a strong mental challenge. But if you can, ride through it you will lose weight. Good luck.
Before age 35 counting calories worked for me. I was a bikini competitor and to lose fat i needed 1150 calories per day😢. After age 35 it didnt work. I started keto and i currently eat almost 3000 calories per day and never felt better.

My doc was pretty good. He told me he wants me to lose weight. Flat out said exercise is good for you but don't use it for weight loss. Used plain language and said cut out sugars and breads and you'll be good to go. Wish he never retired

I just eat once a day usually in a two-hour window and seem to get along pretty good.

I counted calories for TWO YEARS and it was way too much work. I ate a minimum of 8,000 calories and 300 grams of protein everyday for two years. Now I'm on an 18:6 time restricted diet and no calorie counting.
