Morning, for future reference, if you have different colour fins you'll be able to see the direction that the dart is off centre. You can then add weight to the opposite side so it will fly straight again.

When the suspension compacted from the dart on the PT was probably the best looking a PT Cruiser has ever looked. Sporty, aggressive, yet completely and utterly destroyed. Love it.

I like that we’re coming back to the basics. The 45M tower stuff was what hooked me on this channel so I’m glad we’re coming full circle. I liked a lot of the other stuff but this is the content I have been needing for a while.
1. I think it's obvious that the dart didn't hit a rock - Rexy's nose caused all that damage!
2. I suggest making the fins on the dart adjustable so as the day goes on you can correct for the inevitable bending.
3. You should definitely have replaced the PT Cruiser with a Dodge Dart!
4. Possible dart names:
- Killa Joule (a reference to @dombenjak's comment below)
- Exit Wound
- Pointless (until you attach a tungsten tip to it)
- Rexy Slayer

Time lapsing the cleanup is actually an excellent way to make that part almost as aesthetically pleasing as the making of the mess in the first place.
The dropping and destruction was all spectacular, but the true MVP was Dr. Kay, not only answering your call by asking what you'd done to Rexy, but also taking on the momentous task of stitching him back together after your carnage.
Edit: Name suggestion! In honor of Dr. Kay being called to revive Rexy once again - Kay's Bane!

Got a seriously worried 3-year-old over here: "Are they gonna fix Rexy?" Once she stopped crying, she said she thinks the dart should be named "Olivia". The 7-year-old prefers the "Metal T-Rex Tooth." And the 6-year-old came up with "Alice" for some reason.

All the droppy drop videos are some my all time loves, off the dam, stadium roof, the cliffs (Africa), the sheer variety, world records, trick shots, various golf games. It's always something special and off the rails.

Recommendation: make the tip of the dart replaceable and longer. This will dramatically increase the entertainment of the drops. This will create a weak point but it will be worth it. I would do something like a pipe flange welded to the tip so you can bolt the tip to the body.
I would suggest something like a ripper tyne off a grader as it is hardened steel.
i would recommend a threaded hole so you can insert earth drill tips or such since they are made of hardened steel or tungsten carbide

The tip needs to be threaded so you can have spares and different style tips. I’m thinking about another throwback. Maybe a screw on giant fist or a screw on axe head 😳😳

The dirt in the grooves is what's causing the tilt. Anywhere that has dirt, air glides by, anywhere without dirt, the air is catching. So obviously, one side is emptier than the other, and it's tilting the dart.

Another Idea for a dart or something dropped is to have an oscillating weight inside of it so it gets a second impact force.
Oooh, I'm pickin up what you're putting down. Maybe a 100 lb weight on a slider rail inside of the dart, going from tip to tail. When the Dart drops, the G-forces lift the weight into the tail, and when it slams down, the weight slides along the rail and slams down a split second later, aye?
Would definitely need to be thick-walled with a very thick metal at the tip though, lest the weight just punch through the tip

Science With Random Commenter: the reason it doesn't fall true is the square-cube law. The aerodynamic force applied by the fins is proportional to the surface area of the fins, which is proportional to the square of the scale of the dart. The weight of the dart is proportional to the volume of the dart, which is proportional to the cube of the scale of the dart. If you scale up a dart 100x, you end up with fins that only work 1% as well as the original size dart.
Simply put, when you scale the dart up, the fins quickly become too small relative to the weight of the dart. By making the dart extremely heavy, you make the fins merely decorative, which means it won't fly true like a normal dart.
well they've just got to throw it 10 times harder to make up for that, since air resistance is also proportional to the square of velocity

This assumes the dart is a perfectly scaled replica - it's not. The weight isn't solid like knurled brass on a regular dart, and the fins are, proportional to their own surface area, much heavier. The reduced ratio between front and rear mass bringing the centre of mass closer to the centre of the dart is likely the reason it tilts mid-air
