We are all set for concrete in the new pole barn, now all we need is rain in the forecast to divert crews to work inside. The cement truck holds a max of 10 yards, will it be enough?
That's nice . Love seeing that fresh concrete . Itching like crazy to get started on my project of adding 24x46 pole shed here at my place. It will come. Liked your videos , good camera work too
Why didn't they back the truck up closer and use longer chutes instead of the motorized wheelbarrow? The ground looks plenty solid in front of the shed.
I was thinking the same thing but it may have to do with weight displacement around the pole barn which could cause the ground to compress and make an uneven pour. When I had my shed floor poured in 2015, the cement truck was parked on my inclined driveway and they used a pumper raised over my house to do the pour due to my property being on such a steep grade and nowhere for the cement truck to go behind the house.
@@ataleofthreecabins1025 thank you…we are building a 40x60 with a 1200 sq ft apartment and 1200 sq ft open storage above. I like the idea of a floor drain for cleanings. I think we would need to tie into the septic though.
We put in a vapor barrier before the pour and drain tile along the outside. After 18 months seems pretty dry compared to my neighbors whose has visible signs of moisture along the perimeter. So far so good.
Only one question: why no JD green color mixed in that concrete? hehehe. Looks good Tom you will really enjoy that building. Worth the hassles and the wait
@@ataleofthreecabins1025 I just had the concrete poured in my pole barn today to store my 1025R. Can you tell me the name of the sealer you used and if you like it or not? I really like all your videos, thank you so much for putting all the time into them.
Hi Mike this is Don G (I changed my logo and name to protect the innocent lol ) you were wondering if JD could handle a loader full of cement ? It absolutely will I had too put mine into service when the cement contractors wheelbarrow broke. It worked great and it was so easy to place the cement where they needed it they were all great full that it was there to save the day. Take care - I may have a little building envy going on ;-)
Really really impressive amount of work for one day. I wonder if they would come to NJ. I don’t think we have many pole barn builders in my area

Wondering why the concrete truck couldn't pull up closer and use the chutes, instead of buggy trips? 🤷🏽♂️
I thought the same thing.
You had a good crew there my friend.
The pour always seems like chaos but they pulled it all together and did a very nice job.

Looking good, just got done with concrete on mine, now on to inside girt framing and electrical while I decide on insulation
Looks great!! All that hard work before hand made this an easy pour!!
I am wondering why they didn't back the truck all the way to the barn door. They have the shoots to extend it inside the barn.

I thought the same thing, but I think they had the buggy there and just used it to be on the safe side.
They did a nice job and did it quick. It's looking top notch Sir. I am simply loving this project.
Might be a stupid question, but where does the drain lead to? Septic?
A creek. Only run off is from snow, an occasional rinse of the floor.

How much did this whole building cost to build?
$17,000 for the pole barn, $5,000 for the concrete pad.
If I may ask what did the concrete cost?
$5000 if I remember right.
Any concerns with your bottom purlins rotting due to the concrete moisture?

So much nicer when the professionals do their thing. They make it look effortless.
Great job Tom!!
Glad everything worked out…
The building really looks awesome.
Just started on a 20x40 building. Going to try to black top the inside instead of concrete
why?
Glad to see everything is coming together for you. Barn is looking good.
May I ask the cost?
Concrete pad came to $5,000
Looks great! You'll love that space and so will JD!
I liked the music. Nice guitar picking.
The little chipmunk left his mark 😂, it’s looking good 👍🏻.
Chippy wanted to be the first on the new floor. 😝. Looks good. 👍
Did they add fiberglass to the concrete? Hard work, by hard working crew,
Nope, just the steel mesh.
I see the monker is checking out his new home!
Nice floor. The barn is almost ready to go.

Thanks!
That’s about the size barn that I need to build on my land… That really looks good. I was wondering how they pour the concrete after it was built.
Did they pull up the mesh to the middle of the slab?
Yes, you can see them doing it on the buggy dumps.
Do you plan to put a finish on the concrete like epoxy or paint?
I just put a sealer on it that has acrylic, but that will be about it.

What type of sound system will you install?
My Rigid 18v rechargeable Bluetooth with Aux in, and that's not all is has AM/FM too:)
@@ataleofthreecabins1025 Knew you'd have a plan.
WOW THATS NICE@
Very nice. One nice thing, you'll be rodent free now. Looks good.
