Try to get involved with groups or activities that you enjoy, as the best way to meet people and make friends. Best wishes!

The heat can be quite oppressive when you first come to it, especially when you come from a cooler climate somewhere else in the world. I'm from the UK myself and when I toured Malaysia, Thailand etc. Took me a few weeks to acclimatise. Like you say, hydrating is important, and I also found staying out of the midday heat was a good move as well (air-conditioned shopping malls are a god-send lol). Really enjoying your content Serg. Keep it up and I'm looking forward to each video you release.
Yes I’ve definitely made the mistake of going outside in the middle of the day, just like when I filmed this video. Ha ha. The balls are really great for cooling off and I’ve definitely utilize them for that. Even after almost 6 weeks I’m still acclimating to the heat. Thank you for your support Pete.
The only thing I miss about the bay area is the familiarity and some of my friends. Oh and the cat club in San Francisco. I really miss their new wave city dance nights.
I’m sure you’ll find a lot of things have changed since you were here last. One thing that hasn’t changed, is the friendliness of the Thai people. Thank you for your support.
Hi Serg, your videos on your process of settling in Thailand have been great. We love watching them and getting your impressions. We will be moving to Thailand ourselves in July and it would be great to meet you.
I’m glad you’re finding them useful. Yeah the process hasn’t been all rainbows and unicorn farts, but overall the problems I’ve had I’ve been very minor ones. You will be here soon, and I think you will enjoy it as well. Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @lifewithsergey
Benchakitti is even more gorgeous at night which is about the right time to visit since it's cooler. I went there for night photography quite often, and yes, it is safe and full of people which is a blessing in such big metropolitan park.
Thanks and glad to hear that you enjoyed and loved in Bangkok and Thailand. I have been watched your video since i found and subscribed. As Thai people working in UAE since 2020 and I am missing Thailand too. I would recommend your video to my friend as tourists guide as well. 👍👍👏👏
As a member of the "first responders club" I can totally understand your desire to pack up and leave that world behind. I'm trying to get my nerve up to retire as well and head east. Your vid's are helping me get my ducks in order to start the process.
I actually impressed when u decided to not use fork then picked up a spoon instead. It is reasonable and what it should be using when having dishes. I went to the states eating an American food, i still asked for a spoon 😂.
Yes, I’m kind of glad I came at the hottest time of the year. It should all be downhill from here. I’ll come up with some interesting videos to make during the rainy season.
Absolutely Joe! That’s one of the main reasons I tend to go there so much. However, I’ve been branching out the last several weeks more and more into other places.
@@LifewithSerg That's cool! let try to visit soutside of Bangkok then ( that area is called Thonburi , This place used to be a capital city of Thailand ,a long time ago) ,you can take sky train on Silom line to visit there sir. Enjoy your life in Thailand.
And honestly, the first time I went to the park I didn’t know about that either. But I decided to come back a second time to look around and to record this video. So I got to enjoy two things at once.
You should learn thai. I had a note pad & wrote down new thai words. Id ask the locals how to say a word & Id write it in English to how i heard il it. That's a good start. The locals will love you more by speaking just a handful of words.
@@LifewithSerg It's useful and not that hard to learn Thai language up to basic or intermediate level. Of course there's a weak point of the learning barrier that you can tackle to start with.
Hey, Bruv enjoyed your walking tour and your insights into life in Bangkok. I can see that you are happy with your choices. Take care GOD Bless you and yours. M
The Terminal 21 Food Court is awesome! So much variety at such good prices. Being from the SF/Bay area myself, the first time I saw the Golden Gate bridge at Terminal 21 I thought I just traveled half a world away to see something I can see anytime back home 😂
English is not widely spoken in Thailand. Unlike Malaysia, where I am from, English is widely spoken given that we were a colony of Britain, the Thais have never been colonised by any world power
Nice reflections of your experience thus far. I am fortunate that I’m from Hawai’i which has many similar cultural practices and norms. Im visiting family in Hawai’i now and look forward to returning to Thailand and Krung Thep. Would be nice to sit and chat one day.

Serg, Bangkok is hot all year round but the time of your arrival in BKK was the peak of our summer i.e. hottest time of the year 😊😊😊 Staying hydrated helps and for me fresh fruits with juice and some sweetness help too. Welcome to Thailand! Stay healthy and happy. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Yes I definitely arrived here in the peak of summer. I think it’s been a blessing and a curse. I got to experience the hottest time of the year, so hopefully I will acclimate a little bit quicker because of that. I’ve always try to stay hydrated, even when I was in the US, but I need to be more thoughtful over here. Thank you for your suggestions and your support.
Thanks Andrew! I think one of the reasons I enjoyed so much here is because of the vast culture shock. Part of me craves stableness, and the other part craves uncertainty.
Hi Serg, I would offer you to explore other area of bangkok like Ladprao district where i am living. Ladprao have a lot of food vendors that they can make you favor.

hello Serg, Pete from TT sent me over to your channel. I'm watching so I will subscribe and view you for awhile. I plan to travel to Thailand in Oct. and look forward to your vlogs as you are viewing Bangkok with new eyes.
Hello Donna. Pete is a great guy and an excellent interviewer. Glad you liked my content. I have a new video coming out later today. Yes, part of my goal right now is to share all of my experiences here from a set of fresh eyes. I know I could only capture this outlook for a certain period of time so I’m doing my best to show as much as possible.
What a beautiful park in the middle of the city 😊. Yeah I have been watching another UA-camrs recommended highly with Terminal 21 , if we want to escape the heat to economical street food in the mall. Good luck and enjoying your stay. You probably know that you can learn Thai on You tube , I learn few words a day too, just in case I am able one day. Start saving money 😊.
Whenever you return to the US, your friends and family will have to compliment you on how healthy your skin tone looks. Your figure looks good as the sun in Thailand burns fat for you while you enjoy delicious Thai food with no limits of AM reduction. Most importantly, the Thai people are very kind and friendly.😁
Hi Serge First time watched your vlogs and really enjoyed it. Subscribed and now showing it to my wife who is from Chiang Mai. We live in Melbourne but after seeing this we want to go back for a holiday. We have been to that lake a few times. Thanks again Brendon

Glad you enjoyed it my ramblings. I miss our hikes back in San Jose. I still member that one time I underestimated the length and we ended up doing that 13 mile hike. It was fun, but man our bodies were done at the end. Lol
I’ve been living in Bangkok for 4 years now and I’m still loving it. It’s not for everybody but if you’re like me and need a change I can’t recommend it enough. Great video! First one of yours I’ve seen. Even though I live here I love seeing peoples experiences because there’s so many things I can relate to. You’ve got a great attitude, hope you enjoy your time here! Glad you made it to Benjakiti. It’s an oasis. When you talk about finding products I’d like to mention to all those considering moving here with a larger than size 12 (mens) shoe size. Bring as many as you can. You will not find them here. Buying on Amazon doubles the price between shipping and customs duty.
You are crossing from Terminal 21 across Asok to the side where Soi Cowboy is. My wife is disabled and I found the MRT has a walkway underneath so that my wife doesn't half to go fast using street level crossing. There are escalators on both sides. Just a tid bit of information,,,,,,,,,,,,
always enjoy your recent vlogs. sounds like you are happy with relocating to Thailand compared to living in SF an adjustment yes but such a beautiful choice you have made..Thank you for sharing,,
Hi Rudy, yes I am very happy to be here. I actually lived down in San Jose in Silicon Valley. Personally, I could never live in San Francisco the way it is now. It’s gotten so extremely dirty and overrun with drug use and crime over the last 5 to 10 years. Bangkok is 10 times as big and 10 times safer and cleaner.
Spent a week here in Chinatown (regular hotel that is all mine now because it's empty LOL), planning to stay a month longer. Aside from occasional sweat rush on especially hot day I have no problems. Transport isn't perfect but alright. 7-Eleven coffee for 15 baht is king of the morning. Chinatown food heavenly (not as good as in Hong Kong but pretty darn good). People are great!

Now you know why SE is crazy about the big malls, right! 🤣🤣🤣🌸
Yah Jo, I figured that out pretty quickly. They are extremely useful for getting out of the heat.
excellent.... thanks for the overview. Looking to leave the Bay Area myself... 2 years and counting.
The only thing I miss about the bay area is the familiarity and some of my friends. Oh and the cat club in San Francisco. I really miss their new wave city dance nights.
Nice video! I am going there this Friday. haven't been there for over 20yrs and cannot wait till arriving again.
Several people have mentioned that I should go back at night, I will definitely go do that. It really is a beautiful park.
Thanks and glad to hear that you enjoyed and loved in Bangkok and Thailand. I have been watched your video since i found and subscribed. As Thai people working in UAE since 2020 and I am missing Thailand too. I would recommend your video to my friend as tourists guide as well. 👍👍👏👏
I’m really glad you enjoyed my videos. I have not been to the UAE. I would definitely like to go visit. Take care.
Hi Serg, welcome to Bangkok. I was just watching your interview with Pete @thairish Times.
Hey Don! Thank you for your support. I really do feel very welcome here.
OK, I officially binge watch all of your episodes today. Keep up the good work
Holy smokes. That’s a lot of Serg. 🤣 Lol. Thank you for your support. I’ve got a new video that should be out later today.

Hey Davy! I spent 40 years of my life in the San Francisco Bay area. Thank you for your support!
As a member of the "first responders club" I can totally understand your desire to pack up and leave that world behind. I'm trying to get my nerve up to retire as well and head east. Your vid's are helping me get my ducks in order to start the process.
I wish you the best with your retirement and whatever journey you chose next. Thanks for your support!
I actually impressed when u decided to not use fork then picked up a spoon instead. It is reasonable and what it should be using when having dishes. I went to the states eating an American food, i still asked for a spoon 😂.
Yes I have been using the spoon for some time. I like it!
This is now the summer season. Rainy season is starting and it will be cooler soon. Enjoy your stay, pal.
Yes, I’m kind of glad I came at the hottest time of the year. It should all be downhill from here. I’ll come up with some interesting videos to make during the rainy season.
Liked your chat to Pete. Chad has a good Chanel too. First time here but looking forward to your work.
Pete is a great interviewer and a really nice guy. Very genuine. Chad was also extremely friendly when I met him. Thank you for your support!
Food court at Terminal 21 is pretty good deal for price and portion sir.
I have made several trips outside Bangkok already. I am just coming back from a day trip now. Will upload the video in a few days.
@@LifewithSerg Sweet. can't wait sir.
Watching your channel after seeing you with Pete! That was a great interview by the way. And this was a great video. Looking forward to your channel!
Pete is a great guy! I’m glad you enjoyed the interview and this video. Thank you for your support.
I went to this park, but I didn't know about all that sky walk, nice place
And honestly, the first time I went to the park I didn’t know about that either. But I decided to come back a second time to look around and to record this video. So I got to enjoy two things at once.
@@LifewithSerg you have very good content. Love it
Thanks man, comments like that really recharge my batteries and push me to make more.
You should learn thai. I had a note pad & wrote down new thai words. Id ask the locals how to say a word & Id write it in English to how i heard il it. That's a good start. The locals will love you more by speaking just a handful of words.
I’m trying. I really am.
@@LifewithSerg It's useful and not that hard to learn Thai language up to basic or intermediate level. Of course there's a weak point of the learning barrier that you can tackle to start with.
I enjoyed your conversation with thairish.
Luv u, bro.
Thank you so much! I’m out for dinner now, so I still have not seen it. Will watch it when I get home tonight.
The forest park next to benjakitti is very pretty at night, you must see!
Yes that’s where I filmed this video. I will definitely have to go back at night to check it out
Hey, Bruv enjoyed your walking tour and your insights into life in Bangkok. I can see that you are happy with your choices.
Take care GOD Bless you and yours. M
It’s not all rainbows and unicorn farts here, there are problems of course. However, I am very happy here so far. See ya soon!
The Terminal 21 Food Court is awesome! So much variety at such good prices. Being from the SF/Bay area myself, the first time I saw the Golden Gate bridge at Terminal 21 I thought I just traveled half a world away to see something I can see anytime back home 😂
Yeah it’s a great food court. Seeing the few little landmarks of San Francisco is also very soothing for me.
Need more videos like this! Good job Serg, finally have time to comment. Just busy.
I’m glad you’re enjoying my content. I’m working on editing the next video right now. Stay tuned!
English is not widely spoken in Thailand. Unlike Malaysia, where I am from, English is widely spoken given that we were a colony of Britain, the Thais have never been colonised by any world power
Yes, I should’ve clarified and said Bangkok.
@@LifewithSerg we are very jealous of Thailand as they have escaped the scourge of colonisation

Nice reflections of your experience thus far. I am fortunate that I’m from Hawai’i which has many similar cultural practices and norms. Im visiting family in Hawai’i now and look forward to returning to Thailand and Krung Thep. Would be nice to sit and chat one day.
I’ve only been to Hawaii a couple times on vacation, so I don’t have that experience. However, from what I’ve heard it is very much a family style culture as well. Feel free to hit me up on Instagram @lifewithsergey

I'm trying to practice English from your video.. thank you for your love Thailand.its very heartwarming to hear that..
That is excellent to know! I need to watch more Thai videos so I can learn Thai quicker.
I hope you like Thailand. Thailand is like many (all) countries in the world. There are both good and bad people. While enjoying your stay, i hope you also take good care of yourself too. All the best to you, Serge.
Yes, I’m know there are bad people here, just as in every country. I just wanted to share that I feel very comfortable than welcome here. Thank you very much for your support.
Keep doing!!! Just back from Thailand
I’m glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for your support.
Great job Serg, love your vids. I'll be in Bkk on Monday. Gonna spend 2-3 weeks in Thailand before i move there in a couple months. Appreciate the info.

I'm in Tbilisi, Georgia now but leaving for Madrid on Saturday. Want to spend some time in Spain, Morocco, Portugal, France and UK and visiting pre-pandemic friends from my last jaunt which was 2018-2020. But I hope to fly from London to Bangkok before the year ends. BTW, I lived in SF from 1990 - 2005. Good times! 😃 Thanks for all the information.
That sounds like a great time Brian! Spain is wonderful, I would love to go and visit Portugal. Have a wonderful trip.

West Coast! lol. Thanks for your support.
Serg, Bangkok is hot all year round but the time of your arrival in BKK was the peak of our summer i.e. hottest time of the year 😊😊😊
Staying hydrated helps and for me fresh fruits with juice and some sweetness help too.
Always look forward to your content! Makes me miss living in Asia!
Oh yes. I plan to explore more. I have a new video coming out tomorrow.
Honestly, I am looking forward to your new vdo. However, I know you are seeking to explore new areas to show how Thais run their life in a big city. I dont know how to contact you socially but let me know if you wanna visit ladprao district. It would be appreciatied to ask me guide you how much i can offer.

Thanks for taking us along for that eye opening walk! It felt like you took us on a beautiful new hike. You certainly got me thinking about lots of different things in life and about what brings love and fulfillment! Thanks for taking us with you for another enjoyable time. Think I burned a few calories just Sky-walking along with you!😀
Glad you enjoyed it my ramblings. I miss our hikes back in San Jose. I still member that one time I underestimated the length and we ended up doing that 13 mile hike. It was fun, but man our bodies were done at the end. Lol

Yes you’re correct. Certain things are definitely harder to find here.

Serge, use lambs wool t-shirts, it’s expensive, but the natural wicking keeps you cool. And it looks great too!
You know I’ve looked into Merino wool shirts as well. I’ll have to go check those out. Thanks for the tip!
You are crossing from Terminal 21 across Asok to the side where Soi Cowboy is. My wife is disabled and I found the MRT has a walkway underneath so that my wife doesn't half to go fast using street level crossing. There are escalators on both sides. Just a tid bit of information,,,,,,,,,,,,
Yes I am well aware of that tunnel. It is very useful for sure.
always enjoy your recent vlogs. sounds like you are happy with relocating to Thailand compared to living in SF an adjustment yes but such a beautiful choice you have made..Thank you for sharing,,
Hi Rudy, yes I am very happy to be here.
