- Live from TVW 7 in Perth, Australia (a City that, at the time, had a population of just 1.1 million). Whitney Houston performs for a small studio audience. This was taken from a VHS tape I bought off Marketplace destined for the tip. Quality looks second generation - "better than nothing" they say. Recorded off a late 90's Tv Special.
This is all I have from Whitney's Telethon appearance.

That voice had no flaws
This was the cutest full choreographed performance of this song I’ve ever seen her do. I’m assuming this was what was done on the tour. She sort of replicated it on the 88 Grammy’s but it was a bit more disjointed. She’s so relaxed and cute here. Love it!
Yes, this was always the choreography for I Wanna Dance on her Moment Of Truth tour.
It stayed the same a little up until IYBT tour then she kind of changed it a bit.
The band in the Grammy was a bit to small scale for her lol also the live arrangements for the Grammys is lil faster
@N J valhalla it's the same band as in this video that was at the Grammy's. My husband was in this band. They actually played and didn't use pro tools
@@nenej12 I disagree. The band at Grammy’s was good they just didn’t use the pro tools used in studio. Also, the background singers were her worse option

Look at the generation of audience she attracted. She had generations of young and senior there. No wonder why she was so popular
Yeah I remember her first music director (I forgot his name) said that the people who attended her concert were coming from different country and they had different age (from old to young people). I’m glad that she (like Michael Jackson) did music that embrace everyone and cross the barriers 😊😊

It was for a childrens Telethon. The Audience were random mostly.
@@AussieTVMusic I know what it was for! It still doesn’t detract from what I said. Whitney literally attracted a wide range of audiences. Her concerts would always have many from all generations
not to mention around the WORLD & selling 250 million records WW.. many artist have come & gone since the day she first came out

The run she does at the climax is amazing! She was so beautiful.
This is also the same night where she wore the green dress and sang Greatest Love Of All. It’s only a short clip that has surfaced of her singing it and she did the climax so beautiful. Her estate needs to do better.
We just have to depend on the fans to keep leaking whatever they find because her estate is not going to release anything. If they haven't done it in the whole 11 years she's been dead, then I think it's safe to assume they won't.

It amazes me people made fun of her for her dancing. You watch this performance and see/feel nothing but joy. You just wanna smile and feel as happy as she does singin and dancin. God i love this woman.

This was by far one of the best performances of this song ever. The fun energy of the performance was infectious to watch and I like to remember Whitney happy as she was in this clip.

Love this! The way I always viewed Whitney and choreo was that she always knew all the steps and moves, she would just step in and out of the choreo when it suited her. My mental image is that she was always the 'cool girl' that didnt try too hard to dance and show out, needing to prove anything. Only do just enough to remind you that she can, all while singing better than anyone else. She was more of a groover...with simple, smooth choreo that allowed her to decide what she wanted to get into.
Immaculate tone and timbre! Great performance, never seen this before.

Was the audience the same townsfolk from Footloose?😅 They were so stiff lol. This was too much for them to handle I guess. Anyway the red dress looks awesome on Whitney. The sweat, the voice, the cute vanilla dance numbers. I love the 80s.

I also think Whitney should’ve had background singers that suited her sound, around that era. Her voice sat so high during this era and her background singers were singing beneath her.
The background singers she used during her Spain concert in 91 were more suitable for her sound during this era. I think she just employed those she felt she could trust and made her comfortable verses those who would’ve complimented her sound more
