@Michelle Rivers yeah I love Vader and all but , in my opinion nihilus is the most powerful force user ever , even more than Revan , cuz you know he can consume a whole planet. And I’ve done a lot, and I mean a lot of research on Vader (he is my favorite Sith Lord) and I don’t remember ever seeing that he could resist force drain

The editing is clearly masterful, the analysis and writing is high tier, and everything just shows a love and passion for these two characters and Star Wars in general. Love seeing Vader in more VS videos and love seeing Nihilus getting the analysis he deserves. Perfection.

@reconcool 1 Look, your commenting on a old comment, I'm commenting on an old comment, but let's get down to why I think Nihilus would win. He constantly drains force around him, can do it on a planetary scale if he wants, has enough power to lift, keep together, and generally manipulate a large starship, can use the force to buff himself, use Farsight to see visions of the future, red force lightning, and basically every other sith ability. He even has a more powerful version of sever force and a sith version of force heal. He can even extend his force powers to an entire star system. Also, he achieved what palatine did, which is a theoretical infinite lifespan, through his soul inhabiting his suit of armor. Sorry if this was a pain to read, I was just bored.

Bro Nihilus is one of the most overrated characters in all of Star Wars. He’s a mediocre swordsman at best and he’s proficient with force drain. WHOOPTY do. Being able to utilize force drain on a large scale to drain planets because he’s a wound in the force quite literally has absolutely ZERO combative effect at all. None. Vader would definitely beat him. Nihilus would not be able to handle him once the blades are ignited at all.
Depends on the situation, Creator of Nihilus mentioned that Vader and Revan can easily beat him, probably because Siths like Vader, Palpatine and Dooku has the ability to resist force drain, so it won't weaken Vader during the battle, Lightsaber combats Nihilus will get stomped by Vader, but if Nihilus uses a red force lightning in time, Vader would probably block it with his saber but if it fails then Vader die as he is very sensitive to lightnings due to his armour, this is my take in the battle but most of the time vader will win.
you forget that the resist to force drain they have is a short period, if they dont defeat nihilus in that short period, nihilus wins by his mere presence that drains everyone around him, now if he focuses on vader after not beeing defeated quick vader is gone.
@@daniell5740 untrue. The ones you speak of were considered ancient by the days of kotor. Bane could out power kreia, nihilus and certainly sion. And vader is well know in this community to be able to beat bane. Besides the point the force has a will and it will be obeyed nihilus and sion were allowed to exist because the exile was allowed to exist to defeat them. That's the story of kotor 2 and thus the whole vs. On these 2 Sith is irrelevant but fun.
Nihilus didn't become weaker during a fight from not being able to satisfy his hunger. Meetra had a similar condition that basically cancelled his out, putting them on even ground. Vader doesn't have this. Also as for dueling, unlike what put in the book, Meetra was already a master duelist, though less then Revan and Malak. Her condition enabled her to learn things instantly but essentially absorbing the knowledge directly just from presence and seeing it only once. She not only nullified Nihilus' drain, but essentially adapted him to death. Physicality won't be an issue for him in a fight unless Vader can recreate her ability or drag the fight out for a couple days. And he doesn't have to try to feed. He passively drains as well. It's just not specific. It's why his ships crew were basically zombies. Visas would feel physical and spiritual pain within moments of entering his presence, and after only a couple minutes would double over in pain, which is why she always raced out of his presence after being summoned. As said before, Meetra's physicality cancelled out this effect, causing him to have to actively drain, which only slightly worked, but only as just another force attack. And it still took a lengthy fight of battering the shit out of him to win. Again, Vader isn't Meetra. He'd immediately be affected by his presence and nihilus would lay the pipe down. Vader could resist but he'd be fighting while weak. You don't just power through him unless you're just hugely superior like Vitiate for example or have an immunity or just master level drain resist. And vi doubt unless he planned that Vader would expect this is a fair pitched contest so

Firstly, I am not aware that Nihulus has ever been depicted with red force lightning. As said, it's probably the force drain ability. Secondly it's never actually explicitly stated that there is a difference in power between the different colours (blue/purpleish, green, yellow, red, white and black) That being said however, force lightning is in general extremely devastating to Darth Vader, as it can short-circuit both his limbs and respiratory system

I feel you heavily downplayed Nihlus in this. You forgot he knows red lightning which is much stronger than normal lightning, along with passively draining the force around him, causing Vader to fight the battle weaker and weaker as it goes on. Personally I believe Nihlus would win
Actually he only got red lightning after his death on the ravager when he came back he had red lightning thanks to him becoming one with the darkside and truly using its power. He mainly relied on drain while he was ok with a lightsaber he isnt master level like Vader, revan, or malek
Even Vader has red sith lightning and he probably still cant use it to its full power i still believe sidious's lightning is more powerful it could light up an entire planet

@@courier5156 He knows sith lightning he cant use it cause of his suit in the comics his spirit resembles his max potential and he easily toasts palpatine. So he could theoretically do it physically at the price of his life but i so believe with current Disney canon cause Lucas's words arent the word of god anymore he probably can without dying though he will suffer immensely. Disney made Vader what he's supposed to be. A literal juggernaut till ofcourse that part where he got disassembled by palpatine. But that was because he was caught off guard anyways.

You my friend have out done yourself with this matchup. You created an analysis for Darth Nihilus that is both impressive due to the obscurity of the character and one that gives the lord of hunger the respect he deserves. On the flip side your analysis of Vader was quite well done and had a nice balance of canon and legends. The verdict was very well done and I agree with the verdict. I also loved your theory about Nihilus having an almost vappad like fighting style. I really enjoyed this fight and I’m glad to see you back and what’s next. The force will be with you always.

To the people saying Nihilus should stomp, remember that he died to a Jedi Knight with some darkside training, a Jedi Knight that was exiled before their training was complete, a Mandalorian.... like, how can you say Vader isn't stronger than 2 Jedi and just a dude in heavy armor. Nihilus can only use his draining powers on people without force barriers, and Vader has one of the most powerful force barriers ever. And against lightning, he has his lightsaber to absorb it. Plus he took the full force of Sidious' lightning long enough to pick him up and throw him, and then didn't die for a bit after that. That lightning, mind you, was known to disintegrate people at those levels. Nihilus isn't that powerful, not by a long shot.

It wasn’t so much not having his hunger satiated, it was the fact that he attempted to drain Meetra Surik, whom herself was not just a fellow wound in The Force, but specifically, effectively was Nihilus’ polar opposite. And even then, Nihilus was still notably too powerful for the combined might of Meetra Surik, Visas Marr, and Mandalore to take on; it took Visas Marr severing her force bond to further weaken and stun Nihilus long enough for the team to defeat him. 13:30, while Vader has more and better force aug. feats like speed, strength, and durability due to being one of the most featured characters in the mythos, with Nihilus comparatively barely being featured, I’d like to point out two things: 1. Nihilus has no physical body, and therefore cannot feel pain, and isn’t bound by the normal limitations of a physical body. Vader doesn’t have a full body to choose from for where to target his attacks; he would only be able to damage perhaps Nihilus’ mask and parts of his armor. Plus, Vader has no knowledge that Nihilus has no body. 2. Like I mentioned earlier, Nihilus, while weakened, was able to contend with and prove the better of the combined efforts of Meetra Surik, Visas Marr, and Mandalore, simultaneously in a fight, so reasonably, his force aug. (Strength, speed, etc.), again while weakened, would be significantly above that of Meetra Surik’s. I actually think you’re overblowing Nihilus as a duelist and simply steeping too far into speculation. Given we have essentially nothing concrete to go on in regard to his dueling ability, and given his staggeringly immense power, it’s far more likely he did as well as he did against Meetra’s strike team more so because of his force aug. than his fighting skill. 27:03, source for most Force-wielders being able to defend against force scream? Because almost every example I can think of supports the very opposite. 38:21, nah, Nihilus was using offensive Force abilities throughout his fight with Surik’s strike team, both in cut-scenes / breaks in the fight, and in the fight itself. 38:31, source??? Substantiation??? 39:34, what hand? And how would he decapitate Nihilus when he has no head? What we have here in this match-up is a clear and utter mismatch due to the extreme power-disparity between Nihilus and Vader. Nihilus is planetary in scale given he CASUALLY destroyed and drained the surface of Katarr. While there IS an argument for Vader resisting Nihilus’ drain, as you pointed out, being able to resist is not the same as being immune, and unlike Meetra Surik, Vader isn’t immune to Nihilus’ drain, but should be able to resist it. Then of course, the degree in which Vader would be able to resist it is of course entirely speculative. But say for example, Vader can effectively resist it to the point where it’s pointless for Nihilus to use it… it would be a stretch to say that Nihilus would then be hindered by his failed attempt to drain Vader like he was against Meetra… since, again, Meetra was a fellow wound in The Force, and effectively Nihilus’ polar opposite, whereas Vader in this scenario would just be resisting the drain. And unless Nihilus was already weakened by having not drained for a time going into this fight, he wouldn’t become weak by the end of it; you’re severely overplaying how often Nihilus needs to feed. So, we would have a non-weakened Nihilus going against Vader. For reference again, a weakened Nihilus was notably too much for Meetra, Visas, and Mandalore to take on. Nihilus at his FULL power is at the very least planet-level, and Vader is, simply not. Vader is maybe city/county, MAYBE country-level at best. Nihilus’ own TK feats blow Vader’s out of the water, and Vader is pretty much one of the TK monsters in the Star Wars mythos. As you mentioned, Nihilus pulled his ship, The Ravager, out of the gravity-well of Malachor V, but he protected it against turbolaser fire too. Basically the only way Vader could win this is if we bring Nihilus down to the weakened level he was at at the start of his fight against Surik’s strike team. And even then, I’d argue things wouldn’t look good for Vader.
The creator of nihilus said vader could beat him. This is because while he has an awesome power it is completely untamed and is like a rpg being used by a child. Dangerous to be sure but vader and palpatine can easily overpower him. Kill him? Maybe not but subdue/capture and they have the resources to imprison him at the VERY least

There are a couple things I would like to correct about this video if I may, Nihilus does not get weak to the point of needing to feed within 10 minutes, it is actually around a week or so before he needs to feed, this is a none factor in the duel, also when comparing his base force ability’s he held together a broken ravager with the force and pulled it to his location across the galaxy, I just wanted to point that out, and the final thing a lot of people misunderstand, nihilus’s ability is not force drain, nihilus’s ability drains the force, I will try to explain, think of it like this, think of force drain like lightning, the user shoots the ability hits them and drains there force to the point they may die, it is a nice ability but rather weak and so it is rarely used well in Star Wars however quite alot had this ability, palpatine, vitiate, even low level dark jedi there is nothing special about it, and it has alot of limitations like people can resist it, picture that in your head as the example for normal force drain, now to explain what Nihilus actually is, Nihilus is a key to a door I suppose, or a plug on a bath tub drain he is rather weak but he can remove that plug this is basically opening the door to another dimension, this dimension pulls in all force energy and life around it, however the stronger the force energy the stronger this ability pulls you in, which is what makes Nihilus terrifying his ability changes its strength based on the target, his ability is also not limited to people, he can drain all life from a planet as well as the surrounding atmosphere, he can also drain the force from the emptiness of space itself however this is not sustainable as it isn’t as much as a planet or a star, and the big issue with Nihilus is the more he consumes the higher grade food his power requires, think of it like leveling up in an rpg you can’t keep killing level one monsters at level one hundred, as you level up the amount of xp they give becomes meaningless, now add you you are required to get a certain amount of xp within a week or month or your body feels like it is going to rip you apart from the inside out because you are starving so much, and you can understand why Nihilus needed to consume planets and stars, over all this entire power concept fascinates me, a lot of people disagree on how strong Nihilus actually is if it is simply force drain he is rather weak even palpatine has that, however if it is this he is the strongest menace to force users, don’t get me wrong he is not the strongest force user, palpatine or abeloth take that title, both in pure knowledge of force ability’s as well as force power, palpatines force storm is a 5th dimensional attack, anyway sorry Iv been rambling this is my favorite ability in Star Wars the very concept is fascinating to me, personally I believe if this came down to Nihilus vs Vader without force drain Vader will win however with his ability I believe Nihilus would win, but that’s just my opinion even if you disagree with Nihilus having this ability at all I hope you atleast found the concept interesting and fun to think about, anyway byeeee thanks for reading my ramblings I hope who ever reads this didn’t get bored or mad.
Nihlus has no physical body, no strengths in the force other than life drain and no dueling prowess. He is basically the Star Wars version of a LoTR Ringwraith, except far weaker. Let's now look at Vader, who is immune to force drain and any power it can give. Safe to say this would be a negative difficulty fight for Vader
Vader is in no way immune to force drain. He may be able to resist Nihilus' force drain, but it would still have an effect on hi. Especially since Nihilus can passively drain. Also, Nihilus has red force lightning, which Vader would be VERY vulnerable to

Some things people don't understand is that in order to use Force Drain, your drain power has to be stronger than their Force Barrier, otherwise you'll be met with heavy resistance and if anyone has ever payed attention to Vader, his Force Barrier by Return Of The Jedi was comparable to Palpatine. Plus, if Vader is 80% of Palpatine's FULL POWER and it's confirmed that Palpatine is the STRONGEST Force User (not going by Legends where Luke and Jacen would be the strongest) to have ever existed, that means, someone like Nihilus is nothing to Palpatine and by extension Vader. Plus, Palpatine himself said that the Sith of Old were weak ignorant people who knew no real power. We also have to look at it like this, Vader knows about ancient Sith techniques considering that Palpatine taught him and gave him a GREAT amount of Sith Holocrons AND let Vader go into his personal archive of all ancient Sith and Jedi artifacts to study them/it. NOW, I'm NOT SAYING that it wouldn't be a hard fought battle, it definitely would, but in the end, Vader would still take the cake, I do think however, that in Vader's case, since he's not a Wound In The Force, that Nihilus would continue to use Force Drain since that was his primary attack and most preferred attacking method and would keep Vader at bay for quite a bit. But, Vader adapts to his opponents and surroundings and would definitely find a way to win. I wouldn't say it'll be easy, and Vader will most definitely be very injured, but he takes the cake, especially when you take into consideration that Vitiate used Force Drain on AN EVEN GREATER SCALE than what Nihilus could do. Nihilus' FD was great, but it took too long to use and wasn't as instant as Vitiates. That's just my opinion though.

@reconcool 1 Anakin is the Chosen One not Darth Vader. Anakin’s potential of being the most powerful Jedi ever was stopped. Vader is powerful but nowhere near what he would have become.
Litterally the lead writter of Kotor 2 has stated that Vader could beat Nihilus. The lead writted of the game Nihilus comes from has stated Vader can defeat him.
The thing that's dangerous about nihilus is getting powerful people around him give him the upper hand, you basically have to fight him while he force drains you. You would need immensely powerful people to somewhat counter that and then beat him after that. That being said we are talking about Darth Vader
Few in the vs series community have analyzed Darth Nihilus. This is understandable because the Lord of Hunger, due to his rather unique state, is very hard to classify as a combatant. However, I think you managed to pull this off, I applaud you sir
I agree with most of this. I think the end fight depends on a lot of things for example if early he went to drain and Vader is able for resist a bit, then he could stun and use lightening... fight over. Another factor is where they fight, if there are many bodies then it doesn’t matter if Vader resists the drain he will drain others and boost himself. Finally if Vader proves to be a threat with his superior physical and martial abilities not to mention drain resistance as you pointed out he would try to keep him at a distance; using telekinetics is a wash but next would be lightening which is effective he could also add drain while sending relentless waves of lightening and Vader would fall so to me this battle could go either way but Nihilus has more ways to top Vader. Vader can only prolong and capitalize if Nihilus weakens.
Finally we get a legitimately good vs fight with darth nihilus!!!! Been waiting for other Star Wars fans on UA-cam to do a vid like this but haven’t shown signs on getting to one yet. Thank you!!!

@Wes Bradley-Taubner Vader demolishes Bane. GM Luke is a literal stomp and stomps everyone here. Confirmed most powerful Jedi and mortal being and feats prove this. Krayt is leagues above Bane. Banes era is fodder for the most part and isnt even on par with mid tiers of the PT for the most part. Bane gets washed by Asajj Ventress off Speed and Dueling feats alone.

Oh please Nihlus isn't even considered a man any more! His "POWER" is slowly consuming him...he needs more and more to sustain his "hunger". Vader clearly wins.
You know the problem with "wounds in the force"? It's that the expression "wound in the force" is hyperbole. The real reason nihlus is the way he is is because he feeds off life for the force sensitivity, but his own Midichlorians reject his demands of them, so he is more of a wound to himself. Meetra Surik, was a wound, in the sense that she was grieving what happened at malachor 5, the reason nihlus couldn't feed off her, was that she had renounced genocide so deeply that her own connection to the force had been limited to almost non existant and undetectable even by herself, because she wanted to avoid sensing other people in the force due to her grief making her,as kreia pointed out "afraid". Basically Meetra Surik was going through a form of PTSD which defeated her to others. Her "bonds" were her subconscious mind looking for people to find companionship with and because they themselves were suffering from some psychologically unhealthily inflicted form is misanthropy, they bonded with her. So her Midichlorians, do full of compassion, renounced nihlus' absolute selfishness, making him unable to feed on her. Would nihlus be able to feed on Vader? I doubt it. Why? Well two reasons actually. Because he needed to be in close physical proximity to the people on Telos, indicating that he can't just feed on life at the drop of a hat. Whereas Vader has loads of force abilities he could use at a distance to nihlus. That plus Vader's Midichlorians were directly the cause of his life, whereas nihlus doesn't feed directly off Midichlorians: he feeds off life via spirituality, hence why when life drain technique is used, bodies remain but not spirits and he could make "zombies", but he couldn't just zap and then turn people to dust, if he were to feed off Midichlorians then they would turn to dust and his body would repair itself. Midichlorians however do have a will of their own, when negative emotions such as the loss of hope occur,those Midichlorians cause cellular decay and that's basically Midichlorian suicide bombing. My understanding of nihlus life draining technique is that he feeds off the spirit of the victim for life sourced power that is given directly to the spirit, however if the Midichlorians have been suitability conditioned, as Meetra's were, the victim is safe. Vader's Midichlorians provide him with power his spirit doesn't even ask for, nihlus feeding off Vader's spirit would cause deep discomfort for Vader, maybe even drive him into a deep Freudian catatonic trauma, but it wouldn't be enough to kill him because his spirit's connection to his Midichlorian based power isn't strong enough so nihlus feeding off him, would require nihlus to have Midichlorians of his own, but he has few left and he would gain little in terms of power anyway. Yeah Vader would probably win due to tactics and sheer physical might, but if nhilus were to get some sort of psychological edge on Vader he could win, though I doubt it. In KOTOR 1 the sith were Titans, in KOTOR 2, besides sion, they were little more than parasites, feeding off a more spooky form of fear and targeting specifically other force sensitives for power in the force/bitter vengeance rather than galactic dominance because A they were not powerful enough for that and B because they were spiteful rather than ambitious. Nhilus' "hunger that cannot be filled" is due to his spirit not being strong enough to compensate for the dark side emersion damage done to his own body, so he needs others', but only force sensitives will suffice because his spirit can only feed off the connection to the force that is within all living things, with force sensitives being by far the best source. Really nhilus is basically a coward, because he sent Visas to kill the exile in the first place, why? Because he didn't want to draw unwanted attention to himself because he knew that someone with a suitably conditioned spirit would resist him and kill him.
There is only one thing that you may have forgotten. That is nihilus power to rip people of from the force and if nihilus got to do that then vader would be dead
@@vicarsita5510 ripping someone"off from the force" is a spirituality thing, not a life thing. It is technically possible for a force sensitive to live even after being cut off from it. I imagine it's be harder for him to use it on Vader than on Traya, due to his connection to it being so strong because of his Midichlorians. Besides sever force isn't permanent. Also it clearly necessitates close proximity and even if Nhilus were to somehow use it Vader could still best him in physical combat.

He'd have to attack Vader with a force based attack Vader couldn't defend against and, after Vader was crippled sufficiently, finish him off. But that is unlikely because Vader is a tactical genius who far outclasses Nhilus. I suppose it boils down to who strikes who with the decisive blow first.
Force drain is powerful, but Vader has significant resistance to it. And regardless of whether or not he’s weakened, he is a powerhouse thanks to his physicality, stature, and cybernetics, the last of which is completely unaffected by force drain. At best Nihilus will get diminishing returns considering the amount of energy it would take to stave off a relentless combatant like Vader. Nihilus’ best chance is his powerful force lightning, and unless he figures that out, he’s in for a world of hurt. His lightning is nowhere close to the force storm conjuring Palpatine though, and considering the amount of time Vader can weather Palp’s lightning, he could probably take a few hits before his life support comes under serious duress. That said, he’s more of a vessel with an entity inside, and it would take Vader completely sundering his vessel to defeat Nihilus. I think Vader holds a clear advantage in this fight despite the availability of force lightning for two reasons: A: He has the willpower to withstand even Palpatine’s lightning for a period of time. And B: Palpatine specifically engineered and manipulated Vader to be nearly invincible to any force outside of himself. I say this despite the cybernetic suit, since I believe the suit was designed less to be a hinderance and more to increase Vader’s rage, adaptability, and connection to the dark side. With all that in mind, I’d still say Vader only wins 6-7 times out of 10. Nihilus is an absolute monster, and if Vader didn’t have the versatile skill set he does, he would just be fodder.
Also, putting the fight on Endor is really bad for Vader, since Nihilus has a clear advantage on a forest planet full of life he can drain passively. So, anywhere with a significant amount of flora, fauna, or people would tilt the fight into Nihilus’ favor, turning the battle into one of attrition if Vader doesn’t fight extremely aggressively. Additionally, considering Vader brought the brother and sister to their knees as Anakin, I think he is sufficiently powerful enough to do battle with a wound in the force.
Yup. Totally agree with the verdict. What most in the Star Wars EU community don't understand about Nihilus is that every time he's fighting, he's not feeding. Which means he's racing against the clock before he ultimately dies from battle or fatigue. Vader is absolutely strong enough to resist Nihilus' drain attacks and can most assuredly outlast Nihilus. This is a very situational fight they both could die by the others hand at any moment if nihilus messes up once he’s dead if darth is to slow to kill nihilus he’s dead this fight is also very equal at the same time Vader being better at lightsaber combat and nihilus just having insane hacks abilities like being able to drain someone just by standing there. okay a few problems here 1. im 90% sure vader has used force kill before which is a more advanced version of force wound so yea he does have an answer to that 2. im pretty sure what Nihilus used wasn't sever force (must be a mistake in the guide) since that supposed to be permanent and considering the fact that kreia got her power back means it probably wasn't that as for the verdict im not sure i agree, vader trying to resist force Drain of a planetary magnitude would be like trying to shelter from the wind in a hurricane, that being past a certain threshold it just isn't viable, Even in that cutscene (of questionable canon) where Sion tries to fight Nihilus he gets the life immediately drained from him and left grounded, while Sion survived, i'd say he's better as using his Rage to make himself immortal than Vader is, so if Vader is grounded even for a second one groundwould stab would end it all
Nihilus should really be expanded upon but from what we do know is that nihilus relied too heavily on force drain and vader is immune to it so when that doesnt work nihilus becomes heavily outclassed, he isnt a master duelist like vader is or even malek, even so vader has a way to protect himself against lightning so he most likely would win in more of the situations than not

The only person that was immune to nihilus force drain was the exile because she was a wound in the force like him. Thats why he became weak when he tried to use force drain on her. @@olmage0799 all you need to do is destroy or take his mask and nihilus body crumples like a sack of potatoes cause his soul is bound to his mask, nihilus no longer has a body and is basically mist inside a cloak once you take the mask hes pretty much defeated and vader has been seen to take damaging force abilities like life drain it may not be on the scale of nihilus but he should be able to resist it somewhat especially since vader is one of the most versatile and powerful force users to exist! Nihilus wins in most of the categories except for lightsaber combat and pure strength while Vader had the advantage with his raw connection to the force he wasn't as skilled in the force as Nihilus but I do agree that if Nihilus's force drain doesn't work on Vader then Nilihus is done, but if Vader can't resist it which I don't even know if he could or not then he is dead
He relied too much on force drain so he was at a disadvantage if that didnt work and he wasnt a master duelist or at least not on the level of vader or malek

I don't see nihilus winning this since Vader is shown to be a much better duelist and have a lot more abilities, if you can block force drain by knowing it's coming nihilus could essentially go from incredibly powerful to a joke, he was only that strong because he ate worlds from orbit where no one saw the attack coming from so no one could defend against it, Nihilus can't duel Worth anything and vaders wide array of powers and knowledge would be too much for nihilus to overcome before the hunger overtakes hin and essentially de powers or kills him
I'm glad you worked with nihilus in these series, i can't thank that enough. However, I still have trouble believing vader surviving nihilus drain ability, or any one else for that matter. It is nowhere stated that force drain is comparable to any other drain ability, as this drain ability originated from wounds in the force. Nihilus had the strongest version at that. The only reason the exile could survive the instant he drained her was because she was a wound in the force. He tries to drain from an empty hole, that's why he got so hurt, not because he needs to feed all the time. About that lightning, even though his lightning is not as powerful as palps, it would probably be strong enough to break through vaders lightsaber disabling him. In a deleted scene in KOTOR 2, nihilus used that lighning on darth sion, and wrecked him. As the scene was cut due to time restraints, I would still argue it being legends canon.

The reaper could drain several moons, yet at that time, it was only used to drain a forest. The Reaper WAS functional lol. Nihilus can't just choke Vader or break his neck, to do that he must first break Vader's force barrier and Vader is said to have a very strong barrier. Nihilus has force lightning, which is Vader's weaknesses , but Vader has Tutaminis and with this ability he can absorb the force lightning and shoot back. Vader learned as Padwan from Ulic Quel-droma the ability to resist the effects of the force harvester and the effects are to drain the force of a person and that is exactly what Nihilus force drain does. And in lightsaber skills is Vader clearly superior so as long as Nihilus didn't broken Vader's barrier, can Vader clearly win.
Nihilus has innate connection to the Ravager, if that’s the feat your mentioning. Even if it’s not, Vader has Anakin scaling and Anakin’s TK >>>>>> Anybody else’s due to his raw power being the highest of any being. Wound in the force is an accolade, not a description. Vader’s resistance does matter as Nihilus, the one trick pony, will resort to having a straight fight with an opponent on whom drain does not work, which Vader will win via Dooku scaling. Red lightning is cosmetic, it isn’t stronger than normal lightning. By your logic, the lightning of Tenebrous, a weak Banite Sith, would be stronger than DE Sidious, who in legends, is an actual demigod. Nihilus isn’t immune to the force, lol, who told you that? Vader should be able to get close due to drain resistance and scaling, and will clap Nihilus in sabers. Vader 9-10/10.
That lightsaber belongs to Galen Marek, AKA Starkiller. I believe that this is from the Force Unleashed on the Prologue mission to Kashyyyk, but I have no goddamn clue why Vader has it prior to even meeting Starkiller.
Like Nihilus and Surik, Vader was a wound in the force. His actions at the Jedi temple and in the years after ensured and strengthened his wound status. Similar to Surik, this would have given him an advantage that few would have vs Nihilus. Not sure who would win but if I had to say…Nihilus. Red lightening and the hunger.
Good video, although I don't necessarily agree with the outcome. I honestly feel Vader is too hyped up. Lets just look at RTJ- he gets pounded down by a young Luke (FAR from where Luke would end up in terms of power, inexperienced) and then proceeds to die to force lightning not even being given the full brunt of it (as he would if say, his position with Luke were switched). While a better duelist, Vader uses fear, intimidation, yadda yadda as one of his major advantages. Which against Nihulus I dont think would cut it- the fact that Nihulus can just...tank literal lightsaber blows for so long, you dont think he couldn't get an opening? This fight really comes down to the force battle itself I think, where Vader is outmatched.
I agree with the fear point, but that’s it. Vader got defeated by Enraged Luke who had Anakin’s potential while holding back? Nihilus got defeated by Meetra Surik.co. Sidious, unless he was suicidal, was using his FULL POWER, and some sources claim that the lightning didn’t kill him, the dark ripple caused by his death did. Nihilus can tank the blows for so long, but he can’t do anything back, no matter how long it takes, Vader’s weak offense>>>>>Nihilus’s weak defense.

@reconcool 1 Look, your commenting on a old comment, I'm commenting on an old comment, but let's get down to why I think Nihilus would win. He constantly drains force around him, can do it on a planetary scale if he wants, has enough power to lift, keep together, and generally manipulate a large starship, can use the force to buff himself, use Farsight to see visions of the future, red force lightning, and basically every other sith ability. He even has a more powerful version of sever force and a sith version of force heal. He can even extend his force powers to an entire star system. Also, he achieved what palatine did, which is a theoretical infinite lifespan, through his soul inhabiting his suit of armor.

Bro Nihilus is one of the most overrated characters in all of Star Wars. He’s a mediocre swordsman at best and he’s proficient with force drain. WHOOPTY do. Being able to utilize force drain on a large scale to drain planets because he’s a wound in the force quite literally has absolutely ZERO combative effect at all. None. Vader would definitely beat him. Nihilus would not be able to handle him once the blades are ignited at all.
To be fair, it’s almost impossible to contextualize Nihilus, he’s wholly separate from standard Star Wars power scaling
Depends on the situation, Creator of Nihilus mentioned that Vader and Revan can easily beat him, probably because Siths like Vader, Palpatine and Dooku has the ability to resist force drain, so it won't weaken Vader during the battle, Lightsaber combats Nihilus will get stomped by Vader, but if Nihilus uses a red force lightning in time, Vader would probably block it with his saber but if it fails then Vader die as he is very sensitive to lightnings due to his armour, this is my take in the battle but most of the time vader will win.
you forget that the resist to force drain they have is a short period, if they dont defeat nihilus in that short period, nihilus wins by his mere presence that drains everyone around him, now if he focuses on vader after not beeing defeated quick vader is gone.

@@daniell5740 untrue. The ones you speak of were considered ancient by the days of kotor. Bane could out power kreia, nihilus and certainly sion. And vader is well know in this community to be able to beat bane.
Besides the point the force has a will and it will be obeyed nihilus and sion were allowed to exist because the exile was allowed to exist to defeat them. That's the story of kotor 2 and thus the whole vs. On these 2 Sith is irrelevant but fun.
Nihilus didn't become weaker during a fight from not being able to satisfy his hunger. Meetra had a similar condition that basically cancelled his out, putting them on even ground. Vader doesn't have this. Also as for dueling, unlike what put in the book, Meetra was already a master duelist, though less then Revan and Malak. Her condition enabled her to learn things instantly but essentially absorbing the knowledge directly just from presence and seeing it only once. She not only nullified Nihilus' drain, but essentially adapted him to death. Physicality won't be an issue for him in a fight unless Vader can recreate her ability or drag the fight out for a couple days. And he doesn't have to try to feed. He passively drains as well. It's just not specific. It's why his ships crew were basically zombies. Visas would feel physical and spiritual pain within moments of entering his presence, and after only a couple minutes would double over in pain, which is why she always raced out of his presence after being summoned. As said before, Meetra's physicality cancelled out this effect, causing him to have to actively drain, which only slightly worked, but only as just another force attack. And it still took a lengthy fight of battering the shit out of him to win. Again, Vader isn't Meetra. He'd immediately be affected by his presence and nihilus would lay the pipe down. Vader could resist but he'd be fighting while weak. You don't just power through him unless you're just hugely superior like Vitiate for example or have an immunity or just master level drain resist. And vi doubt unless he planned that Vader would expect this is a fair pitched contest so

Firstly, I am not aware that Nihulus has ever been depicted with red force lightning. As said, it's probably the force drain ability. Secondly it's never actually explicitly stated that there is a difference in power between the different colours (blue/purpleish, green, yellow, red, white and black)
That being said however, force lightning is in general extremely devastating to Darth Vader, as it can short-circuit both his limbs and respiratory system

I feel you heavily downplayed Nihlus in this. You forgot he knows red lightning which is much stronger than normal lightning, along with passively draining the force around him, causing Vader to fight the battle weaker and weaker as it goes on. Personally I believe Nihlus would win
Actually he only got red lightning after his death on the ravager when he came back he had red lightning thanks to him becoming one with the darkside and truly using its power. He mainly relied on drain while he was ok with a lightsaber he isnt master level like Vader, revan, or malek

So he could theoretically do it physically at the price of his life but i so believe with current Disney canon cause Lucas's words arent the word of god anymore he probably can without dying though he will suffer immensely. Disney made Vader what he's supposed to be. A literal juggernaut till ofcourse that part where he got disassembled by palpatine. But that was because he was caught off guard anyways.

You created an analysis for Darth Nihilus that is both impressive due to the obscurity of the character and one that gives the lord of hunger the respect he deserves. On the flip side your analysis of Vader was quite well done and had a nice balance of canon and legends. The verdict was very well done and I agree with the verdict. To the people saying Nihilus should stomp, remember that he died to a Jedi Knight with some darkside training, a Jedi Knight that was exiled before their training was complete, a Mandalorian.... like, how can you say Vader isn't stronger than 2 Jedi and just a dude in heavy armor.
Nihilus can only use his draining powers on people without force barriers, and Vader has one of the most powerful force barriers ever.
And against lightning, he has his lightsaber to absorb it. Plus he took the full force of Sidious' lightning long enough to pick him up and throw him, and then didn't die for a bit after that. That lightning, mind you, was known to disintegrate people at those levels. Nihilus isn't that powerful, not by a long shot.

It wasn’t so much not having his hunger satiated, it was the fact that he attempted to drain Meetra Surik, whom herself was not just a fellow wound in The Force, but specifically, effectively was Nihilus’ polar opposite. And even then, Nihilus was still notably too powerful for the combined might of Meetra Surik, Visas Marr, and Mandalore to take on; it took Visas Marr severing her force bond to further weaken and stun Nihilus long enough for the team to defeat him.
13:30, while Vader has more and better force aug. feats like speed, strength, and durability due to being one of the most featured characters in the mythos, with Nihilus comparatively barely being featured, I’d like to point out two things:
1. Nihilus has no physical body, and therefore cannot feel pain, and isn’t bound by the normal limitations of a physical body. Vader doesn’t have a full body to choose from for where to target his attacks; he would only be able to damage perhaps Nihilus’ mask and parts of his armor. Plus, Vader has no knowledge that Nihilus has no body.
2. Like I mentioned earlier, Nihilus, while weakened, was able to contend with and prove the better of the combined efforts of Meetra Surik, Visas Marr, and Mandalore, simultaneously in a fight, so reasonably, his force aug. (Strength, speed, etc.), again while weakened, would be significantly above that of Meetra Surik’s.
I actually think you’re overblowing Nihilus as a duelist and simply steeping too far into speculation. Given we have essentially nothing concrete to go on in regard to his dueling ability, and given his staggeringly immense power, it’s far more likely he did as well as he did against Meetra’s strike team more so because of his force aug. than his fighting skill.

38:21, nah, Nihilus was using offensive Force abilities throughout his fight with Surik’s strike team, both in cut-scenes / breaks in the fight, and in the fight itself.

39:34, what hand? And how would he decapitate Nihilus when he has no head?
What we have here in this match-up is a clear and utter mismatch due to the extreme power-disparity between Nihilus and Vader.
Nihilus is planetary in scale given he CASUALLY destroyed and drained the surface of Katarr.
While there IS an argument for Vader resisting Nihilus’ drain, as you pointed out, being able to resist is not the same as being immune, and unlike Meetra Surik, Vader isn’t immune to Nihilus’ drain, but should be able to resist it. Then of course, the degree in which Vader would be able to resist it is of course entirely speculative.
But say for example, Vader can effectively resist it to the point where it’s pointless for Nihilus to use it… it would be a stretch to say that Nihilus would then be hindered by his failed attempt to drain Vader like he was against Meetra… since, again, Meetra was a fellow wound in The Force, and effectively Nihilus’ polar opposite, whereas Vader in this scenario would just be resisting the drain. And unless Nihilus was already weakened by having not drained for a time going into this fight, he wouldn’t become weak by the end of it; you’re severely overplaying how often Nihilus needs to feed. So, we would have a non-weakened Nihilus going against Vader. For reference again, a weakened Nihilus was notably too much for Meetra, Visas, and Mandalore to take on. Nihilus at his FULL power is at the very least planet-level, and Vader is, simply not. Vader is maybe city/county, MAYBE country-level at best.
Nihilus’ own TK feats blow Vader’s out of the water, and Vader is pretty much one of the TK monsters in the Star Wars mythos. As you mentioned, Nihilus pulled his ship, The Ravager, out of the gravity-well of Malachor V, but he protected it against turbolaser fire too.
Basically the only way Vader could win this is if we bring Nihilus down to the weakened level he was at at the start of his fight against Surik’s strike team. And even then, I’d argue things wouldn’t look good for Vader.
The creator of nihilus said vader could beat him. This is because while he has an awesome power it is completely untamed and is like a rpg being used by a child. Dangerous to be sure but vader and palpatine can easily overpower him. Kill him? Maybe not but subdue/capture and they have the resources to imprison him at the VERY least

Which has quite LITERALLY ZERO combative effect whatsoever. He’s NOT stronger than Vader. Vader would crush Nihilus. A mediocre swordsman against the greatest swordmaster in galactic history. It’s not even close. Nihilus cannot throw anything at Vader that he can’t deal with. Whoopty do he’s proficient with force drain. That’s all he’s got. Literally all he’s got. He was beaten by Meetra Surik. Vader would wreck Meetra Surik. Darth Nihilus is one of thee most overrated characters in all of Star Wars right alongside Revan, Starkiller, Exar Kun, and Kyp Durron. Those are without debate the most overrated characters in the verse. The feats and mentions do NOT back up fans’ crafted opinions about them. At all.

There are a couple things I would like to correct about this video if I may, Nihilus does not get weak to the point of needing to feed within 10 minutes, it is actually around a week or so before he needs to feed, this is a none factor in the duel, also when comparing his base force ability’s he held together a broken ravager with the force and pulled it to his location across the galaxy, I just wanted to point that out, and the final thing a lot of people misunderstand, nihilus’s ability is not force drain, nihilus’s ability drains the force, I will try to explain, think of it like this, think of force drain like lightning, the user shoots the ability hits them and drains there force to the point they may die, it is a nice ability but rather weak and so it is rarely used well in Star Wars however quite alot had this ability, palpatine, vitiate, even low level dark jedi there is nothing special about it, and it has alot of limitations like people can resist it, picture that in your head as the example for normal force drain, now to explain what Nihilus actually is, Nihilus is a key to a door I suppose, or a plug on a bath tub drain he is rather weak but he can remove that plug this is basically opening the door to another dimension, this dimension pulls in all force energy and life around it, however the stronger the force energy the stronger this ability pulls you in, which is what makes Nihilus terrifying his ability changes its strength based on the target, his ability is also not limited to people, he can drain all life from a planet as well as the surrounding atmosphere, he can also drain the force from the emptiness of space itself however this is not sustainable as it isn’t as much as a planet or a star, and the big issue with Nihilus is the more he consumes the higher grade food his power requires, think of it like leveling up in an rpg you can’t keep killing level one monsters at level one hundred, as you level up the amount of xp they give becomes meaningless, now add you you are required to get a certain amount of xp within a week or month or your body feels like it is going to rip you apart from the inside out because you are starving so much, and you can understand why Nihilus needed to consume planets and stars, over all this entire power concept fascinates me, a lot of people disagree on how strong Nihilus actually is if it is simply force drain he is rather weak even palpatine has that, however if it is this he is the strongest menace to force users, don’t get me wrong he is not the strongest force user, palpatine or abeloth take that title, both in pure knowledge of force ability’s as well as force power, palpatines force storm is a 5th dimensional attack, anyway sorry Iv been rambling this is my favorite ability in Star Wars the very concept is fascinating to me, personally I believe if this came down to Nihilus vs Vader without force drain Vader will win however with his ability I believe Nihilus would win, but that’s just my opinion even if you disagree with Nihilus having this ability at all I hope you atleast found the concept interesting and fun to think about, anyway byeeee thanks for reading my ramblings I hope who ever reads this didn’t get bored or mad.
Nihlus has no physical body, no strengths in the force other than life drain and no dueling prowess. He is basically the Star Wars version of a LoTR Ringwraith, except far weaker. Let's now look at Vader, who is immune to force drain and any power it can give. Safe to say this would be a negative difficulty fight for Vader

Some things people don't understand is that in order to use Force Drain, your drain power has to be stronger than their Force Barrier, otherwise you'll be met with heavy resistance and if anyone has ever payed attention to Vader, his Force Barrier by Return Of The Jedi was comparable to Palpatine.
Plus, if Vader is 80% of Palpatine's FULL POWER and it's confirmed that Palpatine is the STRONGEST Force User (not going by Legends where Luke and Jacen would be the strongest) to have ever existed, that means, someone like Nihilus is nothing to Palpatine and by extension Vader.
Plus, Palpatine himself said that the Sith of Old were weak ignorant people who knew no real power. We also have to look at it like this, Vader knows about ancient Sith techniques considering that Palpatine taught him and gave him a GREAT amount of Sith Holocrons AND let Vader go into his personal archive of all ancient Sith and Jedi artifacts to study them/it.
NOW, I'm NOT SAYING that it wouldn't be a hard fought battle, it definitely would, but in the end, Vader would still take the cake, I do think however, that in Vader's case, since he's not a Wound In The Force, that Nihilus would continue to use Force Drain since that was his primary attack and most preferred attacking method and would keep Vader at bay for quite a bit.
But, Vader adapts to his opponents and surroundings and would definitely find a way to win. I wouldn't say it'll be easy, and Vader will most definitely be very injured, but he takes the cake, especially when you take into consideration that Vitiate used Force Drain on AN EVEN GREATER SCALE than what Nihilus could do. Nihilus' FD was great, but it took too long to use and wasn't as instant as Vitiates.
That's just my opinion though.

The thing that's dangerous about nihilus is getting powerful people around him give him the upper hand, you basically have to fight him while he force drains you. I agree with most of this. I think the end fight depends on a lot of things for example if early he went to drain and Vader is able for resist a bit, then he could stun and use lightening... fight over. Another factor is where they fight, if there are many bodies then it doesn’t matter if Vader resists the drain he will drain others and boost himself. Finally if Vader proves to be a threat with his superior physical and martial abilities not to mention drain resistance as you pointed out he would try to keep him at a distance; using telekinetics is a wash but next would be lightening which is effective he could also add drain while sending relentless waves of lightening and Vader would fall so to me this battle could go either way but Nihilus has more ways to top Vader. Vader can only prolong and capitalize if Nihilus weakens.

Oh please Nihlus isn't even considered a man any more! His "POWER" is slowly consuming him...he needs more and more to sustain his "hunger". Vader clearly wins.
Darth Sidious watching this: Lord Vader, never disappointing me!
You know the problem with "wounds in the force"? It's that the expression "wound in the force" is hyperbole. The real reason nihlus is the way he is is because he feeds off life for the force sensitivity, but his own Midichlorians reject his demands of them, so he is more of a wound to himself.
Meetra Surik, was a wound, in the sense that she was grieving what happened at malachor 5, the reason nihlus couldn't feed off her, was that she had renounced genocide so deeply that her own connection to the force had been limited to almost non existant and undetectable even by herself, because she wanted to avoid sensing other people in the force due to her grief making her,as kreia pointed out "afraid". Basically Meetra Surik was going through a form of PTSD which defeated her to others. Her "bonds" were her subconscious mind looking for people to find companionship with and because they themselves were suffering from some psychologically unhealthily inflicted form is misanthropy, they bonded with her. So her Midichlorians, do full of compassion, renounced nihlus' absolute selfishness, making him unable to feed on her.
Would nihlus be able to feed on Vader? I doubt it. Why? Well two reasons actually.
Because he needed to be in close physical proximity to the people on Telos, indicating that he can't just feed on life at the drop of a hat. Whereas Vader has loads of force abilities he could use at a distance to nihlus.
That plus Vader's Midichlorians were directly the cause of his life, whereas nihlus doesn't feed directly off Midichlorians: he feeds off life via spirituality, hence why when life drain technique is used, bodies remain but not spirits and he could make "zombies", but he couldn't just zap and then turn people to dust, if he were to feed off Midichlorians then they would turn to dust and his body would repair itself. Midichlorians however do have a will of their own, when negative emotions such as the loss of hope occur,those Midichlorians cause cellular decay and that's basically Midichlorian suicide bombing. My understanding of nihlus life draining technique is that he feeds off the spirit of the victim for life sourced power that is given directly to the spirit, however if the Midichlorians have been suitability conditioned, as Meetra's were, the victim is safe. Vader's Midichlorians provide him with power his spirit doesn't even ask for, nihlus feeding off Vader's spirit would cause deep discomfort for Vader, maybe even drive him into a deep Freudian catatonic trauma, but it wouldn't be enough to kill him because his spirit's connection to his Midichlorian based power isn't strong enough so nihlus feeding off him, would require nihlus to have Midichlorians of his own, but he has few left and he would gain little in terms of power anyway.
Yeah Vader would probably win due to tactics and sheer physical might, but if nhilus were to get some sort of psychological edge on Vader he could win, though I doubt it.
In KOTOR 1 the sith were Titans, in KOTOR 2, besides sion, they were little more than parasites, feeding off a more spooky form of fear and targeting specifically other force sensitives for power in the force/bitter vengeance rather than galactic dominance because A they were not powerful enough for that and B because they were spiteful rather than ambitious. Nhilus' "hunger that cannot be filled" is due to his spirit not being strong enough to compensate for the dark side emersion damage done to his own body, so he needs others', but only force sensitives will suffice because his spirit can only feed off the connection to the force that is within all living things, with force sensitives being by far the best source.
Really nhilus is basically a coward, because he sent Visas to kill the exile in the first place, why? Because he didn't want to draw unwanted attention to himself because he knew that someone with a suitably conditioned spirit would resist him and kill him.
You have really done your research
There is only one thing that you may have forgotten. That is nihilus power to rip people of from the force and if nihilus got to do that then vader would be dead
@@vicarsita5510 ripping someone"off from the force" is a spirituality thing, not a life thing. It is technically possible for a force sensitive to live even after being cut off from it. I imagine it's be harder for him to use it on Vader than on Traya, due to his connection to it being so strong because of his Midichlorians. Besides sever force isn't permanent. Also it clearly necessitates close proximity and even if Nhilus were to somehow use it Vader could still best him in physical combat.

@@vicarsita5510 Nhilus would only win if his powers were strong enough. He'd have to attack Vader with a force based attack Vader couldn't defend against and, after Vader was crippled sufficiently, finish him off.
But that is unlikely because Vader is a tactical genius who far outclasses Nhilus. I suppose it boils down to who strikes who with the decisive blow first.
Force drain is powerful, but Vader has significant resistance to it. And regardless of whether or not he’s weakened, he is a powerhouse thanks to his physicality, stature, and cybernetics, the last of which is completely unaffected by force drain. At best Nihilus will get diminishing returns considering the amount of energy it would take to stave off a relentless combatant like Vader. Nihilus’ best chance is his powerful force lightning, and unless he figures that out, he’s in for a world of hurt. His lightning is nowhere close to the force storm conjuring Palpatine though, and considering the amount of time Vader can weather Palp’s lightning, he could probably take a few hits before his life support comes under serious duress. That said, he’s more of a vessel with an entity inside, and it would take Vader completely sundering his vessel to defeat Nihilus. I think Vader holds a clear advantage in this fight despite the availability of force lightning for two reasons:
A: He has the willpower to withstand even Palpatine’s lightning for a period of time.
And B: Palpatine specifically engineered and manipulated Vader to be nearly invincible to any force outside of himself. I say this despite the cybernetic suit, since I believe the suit was designed less to be a hinderance and more to increase Vader’s rage, adaptability, and connection to the dark side.
With all that in mind, I’d still say Vader only wins 6-7 times out of 10. Nihilus is an absolute monster, and if Vader didn’t have the versatile skill set he does, he would just be fodder.
Also, putting the fight on Endor is really bad for Vader, since Nihilus has a clear advantage on a forest planet full of life he can drain passively. So, anywhere with a significant amount of flora, fauna, or people would tilt the fight into Nihilus’ favor, turning the battle into one of attrition if Vader doesn’t fight extremely aggressively. Additionally, considering Vader brought the brother and sister to their knees as Anakin, I think he is sufficiently powerful enough to do battle with a wound in the force.
Yup. Totally agree with the verdict. What most in the Star Wars EU community don't understand about Nihilus is that every time he's fighting, he's not feeding. Which means he's racing against the clock before he ultimately dies from battle or fatigue.
Vader is absolutely strong enough to resist Nihilus' drain attacks and can most assuredly outlast Nihilus. Excellent video.

This is a very situational fight they both could die by the others hand at any moment if nihilus messes up once he’s dead if darth is to slow to kill nihilus he’s dead this fight is also very equal at the same time Vader being better at lightsaber combat and nihilus just having insane hacks abilities like being able to drain someone just by standing there. okay a few problems here
1. im 90% sure vader has used force kill before which is a more advanced version of force wound so yea he does have an answer to that
2. im pretty sure what Nihilus used wasn't sever force (must be a mistake in the guide) since that supposed to be permanent and considering the fact that kreia got her power back means it probably wasn't that
as for the verdict im not sure i agree, vader trying to resist force Drain of a planetary magnitude would be like trying to shelter from the wind in a hurricane, that being past a certain threshold it just isn't viable, Even in that cutscene (of questionable canon) where Sion tries to fight Nihilus he gets the life immediately drained from him and left grounded, while Sion survived, i'd say he's better as using his Rage to make himself immortal than Vader is, so if Vader is grounded even for a second one groundwould stab would end it all
I feel this was majorly one sided and more bias in Vader's favor considering there really isn't much information on nihilus as that of Vader
Nihilus should really be expanded upon but from what we do know is that nihilus relied too heavily on force drain and vader is immune to it so when that doesnt work nihilus becomes heavily outclassed, he isnt a master duelist like vader is or even malek, even so vader has a way to protect himself against lightning so he most likely would win in more of the situations than not

And what the death reaper or what ever he was called can do with his force drain powers are nothing compared the ability to drain the life of entire planets that nihilus does. Not only that but nihilus is immortal and cannot be killed buy any one exept the exiled. She was a wound in the force just like him. He has no physical body and force powers does not effect him like they would to a normal person he will absorb it. And having a resistance to force drain wont do much eather it will only prolong how long you will survive near him after all he drains the life of all things near him passivly with out doing anything so ones resistance no matter how good it is will weaken in till its no longer usefull. The only person that was immune to nihilus force drain was the exile because she was a wound in the force like him. Thats why he became weak when he tried to use force drain on her. @@olmage0799 all you need to do is destroy or take his mask and nihilus body crumples like a sack of potatoes cause his soul is bound to his mask, nihilus no longer has a body and is basically mist inside a cloak once you take the mask hes pretty much defeated and vader has been seen to take damaging force abilities like life drain it may not be on the scale of nihilus but he should be able to resist it somewhat especially since vader is one of the most versatile and powerful force users to exist! Also vader is like half force soe technically shouldnt he able to do something against the devourer of worlds :/?

Nihilus wins in most of the categories except for lightsaber combat and pure strength while Vader had the advantage with his raw connection to the force he wasn't as skilled in the force as Nihilus but I do agree that if Nihilus's force drain doesn't work on Vader then Nilihus is done, but if Vader can't resist it which I don't even know if he could or not then he is dead

He relied too much on force drain so he was at a disadvantage if that didnt work and he wasnt a master duelist or at least not on the level of vader or malek

The exile was a wound in the force making her the only one who could stop him. Vader would stand absolutely no chance. It wouldn't even be close.

I don't see nihilus winning this since Vader is shown to be a much better duelist and have a lot more abilities, if you can block force drain by knowing it's coming nihilus could essentially go from incredibly powerful to a joke, he was only that strong because he ate worlds from orbit where no one saw the attack coming from so no one could defend against it, Nihilus can't duel Worth anything and vaders wide array of powers and knowledge would be too much for nihilus to overcome before the hunger overtakes hin and essentially de powers or kills him
I'm glad you worked with nihilus in these series, i can't thank that enough.
However, I still have trouble believing vader surviving nihilus drain ability, or any one else for that matter. It is nowhere stated that force drain is comparable to any other drain ability, as this drain ability originated from wounds in the force. Nihilus had the strongest version at that. The only reason the exile could survive the instant he drained her was because she was a wound in the force. He tries to drain from an empty hole, that's why he got so hurt, not because he needs to feed all the time.
About that lightning, even though his lightning is not as powerful as palps, it would probably be strong enough to break through vaders lightsaber disabling him. In a deleted scene in KOTOR 2, nihilus used that lighning on darth sion, and wrecked him. As the scene was cut due to time restraints, I would still argue it being legends canon.

@Emperor Vowrawn Vader learnt force drain resistance technique when he was Padawan Anakin, from Ulic-Qel-Droma, to resist Dark Reaper, which could drain several moons, which is comparable. The reaper could drain several moons, yet at that time, it was only used to drain a forest. The Reaper WAS functional lol. What you said makes no sense, Vader doesn’t have to BE Nihilus to defeat him.

Nihilus can't just choke Vader or break his neck, to do that he must first break Vader's force barrier and Vader is said to have a very strong barrier.
Nihilus has force lightning, which is Vader's weaknesses , but Vader has Tutaminis and with this ability he can absorb the force lightning and shoot back.
Vader learned as Padwan from Ulic Quel-droma the ability to resist the effects of the force harvester and the effects are to drain the force of a person and that is exactly what Nihilus force drain does.
And in lightsaber skills is Vader clearly superior so as long as Nihilus didn't broken Vader's barrier, can Vader clearly win.
Nihilus has innate connection to the Ravager, if that’s the feat your mentioning. Even if it’s not, Vader has Anakin scaling and Anakin’s TK >>>>>> Anybody else’s due to his raw power being the highest of any being.
Wound in the force is an accolade, not a description. Vader’s resistance does matter as Nihilus, the one trick pony, will resort to having a straight fight with an opponent on whom drain does not work, which Vader will win via Dooku scaling.
Red lightning is cosmetic, it isn’t stronger than normal lightning. By your logic, the lightning of Tenebrous, a weak Banite Sith, would be stronger than DE Sidious, who in legends, is an actual demigod.

Like Nihilus and Surik, Vader was a wound in the force. His actions at the Jedi temple and in the years after ensured and strengthened his wound status. Similar to Surik, this would have given him an advantage that few would have vs Nihilus. Not sure who would win but if I had to say…Nihilus. Red lightening and the hunger.

I honestly feel Vader is too hyped up. Lets just look at RTJ- he gets pounded down by a young Luke (FAR from where Luke would end up in terms of power, inexperienced) and then proceeds to die to force lightning not even being given the full brunt of it (as he would if say, his position with Luke were switched). While a better duelist, Vader uses fear, intimidation, yadda yadda as one of his major advantages. Which against Nihulus I dont think would cut it- the fact that Nihulus can just...tank literal lightsaber blows for so long, you dont think he couldn't get an opening? This fight really comes down to the force battle itself I think, where Vader is outmatched.

Sidious, unless he was suicidal, was using his FULL POWER, and some sources claim that the lightning didn’t kill him, the dark ripple caused by his death did. Nihilus can tank the blows for so long, but he can’t do anything back, no matter how long it takes, Vader’s weak offense>>>>>Nihilus’s weak defense.
