Mike Dude! You are 100% Correct! Pepperdine University home of Professor Frank Zappa. I was at this concert Don't Forget to pay tribute to Terry and his time in KORN. Terry has to be the 3rd greatest drummer ever behind Neil Peart, and Buddy Rich. This band was Phenomenal!
@@0clockedin0 He was also in the Knack though only lasted a few dates. Apparently the amenities associated with being in a band that had fallen off the radar weren't up to his standards. He has a very high image of self and is very particular, which is probably why his career went nowhere after the Jeff Beck gig, where he truly had the opportunity to be a star. Sadly, that band, great as it was, couldn't get enough work to make it viable aside from a tour to promote the 'Guitar Shop' album, then a call from Santana, who offered a tour support gig.
So weird to see an instrument check. Bands haven’t done that for over ten years. Missing Persons in top form, yeahhh! (One of the KROQ DJs might have been a teenie bit too high that day)
Bought 'Spring Sessions M' when it came out and saw them at the Paradise in Boston. Band was the real deal, talent galore and Dale was quite an eyeful live in concert. Wow, the 80s were a long time ago.

I worked for CBS Records (Cincinnati, Ohio) in the early 80's (promotional Records Department) I've seen a lot of Bands live in Concert and MTV added to the Collection! I've seen, heard watched a lot of Drummer's. Terry Bozio is probably the best. I like his style perhaps. Dale's Voice is so unique. I loved this Band the First time I saw/listened to them in a Movie Lunch Wagon in 1981. Ironically CBS Pulled out of Cincinnati shortly after MTV hit the TV, Cable and Satellite Stations! The whole Band was way ahead of their Time!
I was there that day for the new wave day, but I never went in. I just sat outside in my van on a lawn chair drinking beer where I could hear the music. I actually saw Missing Persons about a week earlier at the Irvine Meadows Theater before this show. Since most of the bands at this US festival where in town they all did extra gigs all over So Cal. I saw U2 about 3-weeks earlier, Judas Priest about 2-weeks earlier, so and so on.
@@j.c.9784 I had a good time. I went in to see U2 and Joe Walsh. I did not see missing Persons because I had already seen them 2-weeks earlier. That is all I wanted to see on that day. I was in all day for the heavy metal day. Judas Priest kicked ass. The Scorpions where good too.

I was a senior in high school but living in Georgia. I so wish I could have attended either one of the US festivals (1982 or 1983). So many great bands. The dancing at 54:23 made me laugh.
"Destination Unknown" has been my alarm clock wake-up tune for a long time, but the music and the lyrics have gained even more significance in my life due to the catastrophic, disruptive and life-changing events of the past few years following the international Covid coup d'etat. I just can't seem to find a more appropriate replacement for it (--other than "No Way Out", I suppose, but that's not what I want to wake up to! It's more appropriate for driving to work!) I still love waking to the soft feminine rasp of lovely quirky Dale's voice. Missing Persons is indelibly intertwined in the fondest memories of my life, back in those awesome Eighties, when I was young, full of wonder, energy and excitement, and brimming with confidence and hopes for the future.
I once read a review that said "Terry Bozzio plays every note on drums as if it's the last thing he will ever be known for." I would say that's pretty accurate!
Awesome. I've never seen the entire show before. THANK YOU!!! Funny, I always thought of Dale and Terry as older siblings. When I heard that Dale was a sex symbol I was like "what???" Still see them that way today.
Just found this on UA-cam 😂 It's a Rhodes Chroma - Chuck Wild of Missing Persons uses this synth on the 1982 album Spring Session M along with an Oberheim OB-X.
@@delmac060 You know when you or a friend get a car you feel you haven't seen much of, but as soon as you/they do, you see 'em all over? I had that experience. He's putting way more mileage on the chroma than the OBX. Fun stuff. Cheers!
I saw the Chroma in a keyboard mag way back in the day and thought - THAT looks awesome. Have never been near the real thing and, the best bit, hadn’t heard of Missing Persons until about 3 months ago when they appeared on my UA-cam feed 😂 What a band! Excellent musicians, Dale - unique and the tracks circa 82/83 - stupendous, more hooks than a pirate convention. Perhaps with better support from their label they could/should have owned the UK and Europe too. Maybe we’ll get a Chroma VST coz I don’t have the 20K it would take to buy the beast. TC bud.

Now I get it although I wish the second keyboard if we just stick on bass guitar sounds better to me. I think I have a bias against keyboard playing bass.
I miss the 80s best decade ever US fest 83 Apple and the Macintosh was there..
Terry Bozzio is so underrated...... As a metalhead, i always loved this band.....
Man, Wow?! The 80s?!! Ommfg?! What a great time to be a teenager!! (My good friend Wayne, found and discovered and introduced me to Missing Persons and The Amazing Incredibly Phenomenal and Just Badass Drummer, Terry Bozio!! Needless to say, I Immediately Made A B-Line T9 ,The Record Store, and Bought Spring Session M ,on Capitol Records (Digital Cassette) at that time!! I'm Still Rocking It Now In 2024😎😎😁😁🎸🎸🎵🎵💀💀☠️☠️
Watched the whole thing. Just fire. What Dale lacked in talent she more than made up for with energy and charisma. Like the kids say, she ate! And Warren’s blazing guitar, complemented by überdrummer Terry Bozio, made for a really good show.
Excellent- This grabs a snippet of timelessness.
I remember being a young guy in the 80s thinking she was a little scary and hot at the same time. Her hair always reminded me of colored cotton candy.
Gotta add John Bonham to the list
"If there were to be an olympics of drumming, Terry Bozzio would win the gold medal" - Bill Brufford (Yes, King Crimson, et.al.)
Terry's time in Korn?? I'm going to have to look that up.
agreed Terry is just a beast
Wow, just wow. Live without a net. This is what talent can do. If modern "pop" music only realized they need real musicians, not computer generated crap.
No auto tune!
It's amazing
Tell me you don't know how music is recorded without telling me you don't know how music is recorded.

@bobbowie9350 In English we say, "hello."
this is what talent looks like folks.....
Man, I had the worst crush on her after I saw her do Solid Gold. I still love some of their songs.
Same
One day somewhere lies the master tape in stereo and one day since this remains the only video concert pro shot musician wise most graduated from Frank Zappa University ... ( Chuck Wild not sure about ) Dale Terry Warren Patrick 100 PERCENT ... This will get a 4K restoration from the master tape which lies in in a vault somewhere... Or if the original tapes of this iconic concert still exist they can sync all the cameras with today's technology ( in other words this is not a hard task ) Every camera video tape restored in 4 or 8K or whatever K exists I don't know 5 billion K there will be a way to make your own edit fun thing with choosing camera 1 or camera 10 or camera 4 and just click with a mouse or a finger or some kind of apparatus of some sort and also make well I'm not sure was this recorded in 24 track analog or does only a 2 track stereo I'm guessing one or the other BOTH ?? .... And you can make your own mix of visual and audio ... Like watching Dale the whole time OR WATCHING TERRY BOZZIO CAMERA FOR THE WHOLE SHOW ... NOW WOULDN'T THAT BE WONDERFUL ... NOW MOVING ONTO TONY WILLIAMS LIFETIME VIDEO in 1969 or 1970 .............. UH ........................... I have never see any since I got into all this great stuff when I saw Missing Persons live in concert not in 1983 but in 1984 at GREAT ADVENTURE IN NEW JERSEY WHICH I HAVE NOT SEEN A BOOT BUT ABOUT 24 PHOTOS WERE TAKEN BY DANNY AND ME AT THE SHOW WAITING LIKE 3 HOURS IN LINE IN THE FRONT OF THIS BIG LINE WAITING TO GET INTO THE SO CALLED AMPHITHEATER OR WHATEVER IT IS ... THIS WAS NOT THIS TOUR BUT A WHOLE DIFFERENT TOUR WITH A NEW ALBUM A YEAR AFTER THIS CONCERT WAS PERFORMED. Rhyme and Reason tour 1984 where Terry's outrageous electric kit kept breaking down like a lot of times... To see this kit he used ( it was only used in 1984 and then probably put into a recycle bin after the tour ended ) Simply tyoe in Missing Persons 1984 and it will be there.
I was just a baby 83
Found these guys thru Bettie Davis Eyes recently and found more gems! 🎸 🎹 🥁
Also a nufan punk cover I remember
It's Mary from Canoga Park... with her dad and her own backing band.
With leather?
The boys in da crew, they been good to you!
Well you sound like a sad person.
Should have been having time of your life with line ups like that! Why so glum friend?
@@j.c.9784 I had a good time. I went in to see U2 and Joe Walsh. I did not see missing Persons because I had already seen them 2-weeks earlier. That is all I wanted to see on that day. I was in all day for the heavy metal day. Judas Priest kicked ass. The Scorpions where good too.
@@christophersanders5007 Scorps Rock!!
I think I would've gone to see missing persons again cuz I just loved them.
I feel you on the metal though.. I like everything. 80s was a magical time in music.
Damn! I was at this show and I remember they were good but this stands up as a truly great performance all these years later. What a polished and solid band.
I was a senior in high school but living in Georgia. I so wish I could have attended either one of the US festivals (1982 or 1983). So many great bands. The dancing at 54:23 made me laugh.
I agree he is an amazing drummer
I had the Best time at the US FESTIVAL! They sounded so good! 😎🤘
Saw this whole weekend live in high school! 🎉
They're doing a few shows in LA and SD fall 2023.
Terry Bozzio is a badass drummer! Love Missing Persons 4eva!
I had bought their debut album in the 80s and saw them play at San Diego’s Golden Hall, I wanna say 1986.
It flew under the radar for many. This is quality you hardly find anymore.
I was so in love with her. But know Terry I was and is the fucking man. Awesome drummer
I, too, am somewhere up close to the left-hand side of the set. I remember it like it was yesterday when I see these videos.
Awesome. I've never seen the entire show before. THANK YOU!!! Funny, I always thought of Dale and Terry as older siblings. When I heard that Dale was a sex symbol I was like "what???" Still see them that way today.
Dale Bozzio! Medford, Massachusetts Represents !!!
drumming is off the charts
Bozzio on his roto kit was devastating.
29:20 drum solo
Saw them in orlando...cool show
Sooo f ing good!!!!!
Some Zappa Vets & A Girl from Brooklyn made some fantastic music with a great, original sound! 💥👊🍻
There will never be music like this again.
I love how the opening segment has actual warm up playing. Not some track they just play at the beginning. I feel for all the spunions in the crowd.😊
What is that massive synth above the OBX? Some post cs-80 Yamaha? or...???
Props to the bass player for manually playing all those 8th notes on a PPG
Rhodes Chroma possibly???
Just found this on UA-cam 😂 It's a Rhodes Chroma - Chuck Wild of Missing Persons uses this synth on the 1982 album Spring Session M along with an Oberheim OB-X.
@@delmac060 You know when you or a friend get a car you feel you haven't seen much of, but as soon as you/they do, you see 'em all over? I had that experience. As soon as I wondered what this was, I saw some unrelated post somewhere that had a chroma, and I was like - hey that's it! It seems like the Chroma nad PPG were super critical to their sound.
TC bud.
@delmac060 even a whole album sounding like mental hopscotch could have happened. That was edgy and rock & roll
I saw these guys then at the Greek Theater and loved them. Love Terry
Dale!❤
29:26 -30:or so = ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!! ABSOLUTELY!!
Walking in LA!!! Love this jam! I love the LA New Wave era
